The sky was angry and unrelenting and the snow was continuing to fall with more fervor. The wind was harsh and the temperatures extremely cold, and the snow was whipping at the Miracles pack's territory as if to tear everything down. Though his dog body was built specifically for intense winter conditions, even the King of the Miracles pack knew that this storm was going to be a terrible one. There was no denying that some of the houses, including his own, did not seem stable enough to endure such terrible wind and storm. As the storm raged on, he had to make a decision about what would be the most beneficial thing to do for his pack and its members, particularly the young puppies and the mothers. Ayita was a very big concern of his alongside their own two children, and he knew that Princess and Haven had three very young puppies, and Niro had been given charge of one of his young daughters, Magnolia. With six puppies in the pack, it would be prudent to keep them all safe, and on top of that, Vigilante had heard news that Alaine was expecting.

The decision had been a difficult one, because he worried that the trip to the hotel in the storm would be dangerous, but he knew that the storm would only get worse. He was not the best at reading the weather, but years ago he had been taught, if only so that he could use it to plan his excursions for righteous murders. There was no denying that the storm would only continue to worsen, so he made the call to the pack, particularly to those with puppies, to go to the hotel. It seemed like the building that was most likely to survive against the storm, and the main room where they had held the pack's anniversary party would do well to keep them all safe. He had lifted Noah in his secui jaws as Ayita carried Liam and they had set off for the hotel together, making the journey as quickly as possible. He ushered them into the main room, shifting into his two-legged form quickly to light the fire in the fireplace. They did not seem to have nearly as much wood as he would have liked, and that worried him. A group of searchers would need to be sent to find supplies, or else they would need to burn the furniture that was already in the hotel.

Resuming his secui form, he returned to stand outside the hotel and raised his muzzle again, calling once more for those that may not have heard him the first time. This was so drastically important, and he hoped that his members would be safe in coming to the hotel, for it seemed as if the hotel would be significantly more safe than any of the other houses in the pack's territory. He worried greatly for Amaranth, Niro, and Magnolia, for they lived in an oceanside cave and that would be even more risky than any of the houses in Lunenburg or scattered throughout the territory. The King waited the arrival of his members.

Some PP, lemme me know if either of you want it changed :3 500+

The Seneschal had been woken early in the morning by the sound of harsh wind gusts buffeting the quaint seaside house that he shared with his family. Snow was falling quickly as he looked out the window and the way the windows rattled and shook when the wind blew made the man uneasy. He had quickly gotten up, dressed, and had searched the house for any spare pieces of wood that could be used to cover up the windows. Thankfully he had good luck finding enough for all the windows except perhaps one or two. The Knight had then found his hammer and a supply of nails and woken his little brother. It was cold in the house, the fire having gone out in the night, and he knew it had to be brutally cold outside, so the quicker the windows could be boarded up the better. He and Alder took their supplies and headed out into the blowing snow, quickly nailing the wood over the fragile glass panes.

Each moment that ticked by as he worked outside the house made the uneasy feeling in his gut grow. This was not going to be some storm that would pass quickly, and the signs all seemed to point towards it only getting worse. Perhaps staying in the house would not be a smart idea. Maybe they should move to a more sturdy location. Just as these thoughts came to him, and as he was finishing the last window, a faint howl from the King came through the howling winds. He was calling the pack to take shelter in the hotel. Haven drove in the last nail and found Alder and they both went back inside. "Did you hear that howl? We need to get to the hotel." The Knight took off his jacket and went back to his room where Princess still was with the pups. "We got the windows boarded up, but this storm is bad, Vigilante is calling everyone to come to the hotel for safety. We need to go." Haven carefully picked up Linden and Robin, leaving Felicity to her mother, and took them out into the living room.

Haven grabbed some thick, strong blankets and laid them on the floor, gently wrapping his children up in the warm folds. Jade eyes looked to Princess, and then back to Alder. "Princess, you and I need to go into our halfing forms. Once we are, Alder, tie the blankets around us so the pups are cradled against our chests. It'll be the best way to keep them warm on the way, but we'll still have to move very fast." The Knight removed his jeans and then let his body shift down to the seldom used form, his ochre form hulking and muscular. He stood still as his brother tied the blankets with Linden and Robin around his chest. Once they were secure he managed to get his sheathed sword looped around his back and asked Alder to tie his clothes around the strap after he was done tying Felicity to Princess.

The new father surveyed the scene as his younger brother shifted down to his own four legged form, then said, "Alright, let's go. Stick close together and move as fast as you can without getting separated. I'll lead the way." They exited the house and Haven looked at it solemnly, hoping it would still be in one piece when they returned. There was no time to linger though, and the large secui bounded into the falling snow, leading their way to the safety of the hotel. Haven ran fast, his head turning back every few moments to make sure that Princess and Alder were still behind him. How long it took them, he couldn't say, but when they finally reached the hotel he was panting hard, his muscles stiff and aching from their exertion in the cold.

The Knight nodded briefly to his King as they entered, but was fast to move to the warmth of the fire. He waited anxiously for someone to come and untie his pups from his chest, hoping that the blankets along with his own body heat had kept them warm enough on the frigid journey.

hope this is okay Ever ^^

It was freezing. The wolfdog could feel the icy winds penetrating through his thick husky fur, and it made the male worry. Ezra had seen the beginning of the storm in the morning, when he had gone out for his daily hunt. The winds burned his face, his paws were numb, and he seriously wondered about the health of the tips of his ears. The secui male had returned home sooner than expected, after the storm caused a white out that made him unable to see very far in front of him. Luckily he knew the area by his home like the back of his hand, so he made it back to his cottage with relative ease. He knew Ever was inside, probably resting, and knew he had to alert her of the rough conditions outside.

Vigilante’s call could be heard through the storm, despite Ezra’s distance from the King, and Ezra knew that this was serious. This storm didn’t seem to be stopping any time soon, and it was obvious the pack needed to come together and stay safe. It wasn’t a good idea to have everyone so spread out when the storm was so dangerous. Ezra ran through the entrance of his home, and found Ever. “We have to go,” he said calmly, though inside his heart was racing, “There’s an awful storm outside and Vigilante wants all of us to come together at the hotel.” Ezra had never been inside the Chien Hotel, but had seen it in passing on his jaunts through the packlands.

Their home wasn’t exactly furnished yet, so there was nothing major for Ezra to take with him. Ezra grabbed the few thin blankets they had used on their bed, just in case. He didn’t wear any clothing, but worried about what his mate would want to take with her. Ezra let her pack up before the two made their way through the storm, Ezra by his mate’s side, with one last glance at the house they had built together. Vigilante’s second call had made finding the hotel much easier. The wind bit Ezra’s face and made the walk to the hotel painful and slow. He stayed as close as possible to his mate, walking slowly by her side. The hotel appeared through the white after an eternity, and Ezra let out a sigh of relief. He opened the door for Ever before walking in. Ezra nodded to the king and the pumpkin male to his right. He stood awkwardly at the door for a moment, before leading Ever to the fire that the other Cour des Miracles male congregated around. Ezra didn’t say anything. There was really nothing to say, after all.

Ayita knew for the safety of her pups and her she would have to leave her home. She hated moving them in the winter. They were still young and it was so cold out that she did not enjoy one bit shifting them to the hotel. Changing into her bulky form she followed her mate to the hotel. there everyone would be safer and in a group they could care for the pups. After all she was not the only mother in the pack.

Vigi had helped her situate the pups and then he head out side to gather the rest. She had put stuff in the two packs she had and brought it with her to care for her pups. Changing form for the time being she pulled out blankets and a few toys and books looking at her cold boys she smiled. "It will be ok" She said scooping them up in a blanket andsnuggled them close to her.

"Mama will anyone else come since daddy called." Liam asked looking at her. "Of course your father is our leader and they will do as he asks unless unable too." She said smiling. "Amaranth will come then?" Noah said. "Maybe she lives on the beach with you uncle. It may be hard to get here from there." She said. "Now cuddle in for a few and get warm again." Ayita said watching the door for vigi to come back in.

Perfectly fine, and sorry for the length Big Grin
582

She shivered lightly on the floor, back leaning against the wall beside the largest window in the house. It nearly reached the ground and had the best view of the outstretching beach. The girl breathed in a shaking breath and let it cloud the glass. A smile pressed its self up on the corners of her mouth, forming a gentle grin that was barely visible. Finger slid in the fog until the outline of a heart clearly showed the storm already raging through the window.

The smile disappeared and Ever turned away from the scene and hugged herself up against the wall. It was so cold. She could still feel the frozen air on her finger from the glass. Snow and wind battled each other outside and occasional slammed into the house, causing it to creak and moan in pain. It was rather ridiculous for the girl to be sitting only in a blanket on the wood floors, instead of in bed. But staring out the window was a habit as soon as it became too cold to leave her home.

She played with a strand of hair that kept revisiting her sight but ended of clutching the blanket tighter and sighing quietly. Where was he? The question had faded every one of her smiles since the storm started. Was he lost? Injured? More thoughts that made her heart flutter. Ever simply didn’t know what to do in his absence, and ended up on the floor wrapped in blanket.

Then she heard the howl. Ever pricked her ears and concentrated through the thunder like sounds of wind. Her heart raced and she could feel the sweat on her palms. But it wasn’t Ezra’s. It still worried her and she stood and pressed her hands against the window, listening. Suddenly, the door swung open and rebounded with a gentle bang off the wall. She jumped and spun around, only to find her mate.

Ever took his hands and warmed them between hers, attentive to what he had to say. She was relieved to hear no one was injured, yet. As the black male whisked around the home gathering items of warmth, the girl lingered by his side for a moment, still holding one of his hands. But she slipped away quietly after a moment, finally assured he was alright, and went to gather a few of her own things.

She only decided upon a few containers that could hold water and a basket to put everything in. Hands grabbed the few blankets they had that Ezra found and placed them gently in the basket. Ever also grabbed a sweater from her clothes chest before they left, of course noting Ezra’s clothless body.

Lets go,

Ever said, voice shaking. She held onto his side frightfully as they wandered through the storm, never breaking her grasp. His warmth was familiar and helped take her mind off the mysterious issues. Her feet led most of the way, since she had been to the hotel before, but fear of being lost overwhelmed her and Ezra eventually had to take over. The second call helped them arrive.

The girl let the boy usher her into the warm building where she placed the basket on a table and greeted the familiar bodies inside.

Hello, Vigilante, Haven, Ayita,

The silver youth said quietly, with a shy smile. She gathered her clothing, only to frown when she discovered it was soaked through. It ended up slumped on the table to dry.

Thanks for pp'ing her here, Erin. ♥

The wind seemed to shake every part of the house, and Princess woke alongside Haven, her heart racing. The air seemed to be howling; it seemed so angry. The young woman watched as Haven left their room and went about whatever he was doing to keep the house safe, and the young mother remained with her three children. They were so young, and surely this weather could not be safe for them. It did not seem likely that this weather was going to stop soon, though, for it was raging and the young mother feared for the safety of her mate and his brother outside, and for herself and her children inside. They were hardly more than a week old, still blind and squirming. It had worried her that they would be born in winter, but she had thought all would be well, for it did not seem to snow very much at all, but now it seemed that her fears had been founded. Winter was not the safest time for young pups, but of course nothing could be done now. They simply needed to do what they culd to keep Linden, Robin, and Felicity safe.

Though they did not know what was happening, their eyes still closed to the outside world, the puppies seemed to know that something was wrong. The young woman cradled them closer to her, making soft and soothing noises. They had grown so much since they had been brought into the world, but they were not nearly as developed as the King's children were. Princess had not met them the day that Vigilante had come to visit and meet the young puppies that were the court's newest members, but she knew that they were a month or so older than her own children. Princess could hardly wait until they were old enough to start showing their personalities, to learn and to play.

Haven and Alder returned, and though the woman usually had such a fiery personality, she was solemn now. This was obviously a grave situation, and she had also heard the noble King's call ring throughout the territory. She stood as Haven took Linden and Robin, the larger of their children, and she picked up Felicity gently. Before following Haven, she pulled a thick cotton dress from the closet, then another. She would want to wear one, and the other could be used to keep the puppies warm, as it was a soft material. She followed the men into the other room and listened as Haven gave instructions. Though the young Lady Chance did loathe her secui form, too bulky and far too unpretty for her tastes, she would use it without complaint.

Princess stripped out of the thin dress she had been wearing, and while Haven wrapped the children in their blankets, she placed her two cotton dresses in with Felicity. Since she was planning on wearing one and using the other to keep the puppies warm, she did not want them to get wet while traveling. She changed herself, though she felt very uncomfortable in this form, and stood perfectly still while Alder tied the blanket containing Felicity's squirming and squeaking form to her. Princess wanted to open the blanket and comfort her crying pup, but she knew that the safest thing for Felicity would be to leave her in the blanket, closed off to the raging world of winter. The young woman did not know why the world was angered so, but the snow was piling outside and the winds she could hear so much were terrible.

Though she had not yet said anything, the young Lady Chance nodded and followed her mate. She was significantly smaller than both he and Alder, and it seemed that she was moving even more slowly than she normally would, a combination of both the snow building up and the wind, as well as the bulky bundle pressed against her chest. Finally, though, they reached the hotel, and she smiled meekly at their King as she followed her mate inside and to the fire, passing the others with the interest of getting her children to the warmth near the fire faster.

She laid down on her stomach, cradling the bundle between her paws, and willed her body to change into her smaller, more lithe lupus form, and she slipped her neck and legs through the bundle that had been tied to her larger form. She nosed into the bundle, checking on Felicity, before changing once more to her preferred form, though her curly locks were askew and wet. Setting about untying her own bundle, she slipped on one of the two dresses she had brought, settling Felicity in the folds of the blanket and the second dress, and then went to help her mate out of the bundle containing Linden and Robin, untying the knot Alder made.

I had been waiting for anyone else who signed up, but I'll post now. He'll go inside in my next post.

The dog mutt stood outside, bracing himself against the harsh winds, waiting for the members of his pack to arrive. He did not expect them all to come, but he hoped that as many as possible would, for he wished them all to be safe and warm and he wanted to be able to watch over them during the storm. He had not seen weather this harsh since before he had left Kaktowik and it was unfortunate that there were so many young puppies in the pack now and that the storm was hitting at such an awful and inconvenient time. Certainly there was never a convenient time, but it could have been better, and would have been if there were not so many young puppies in the pack. Hiw own were just over a month, but Princess and Haven's litter was only a week or so old now.

As members began to arrive, he gave them all quick greetings and ushered them inside. He did not want to keep any of them outside longer than necessary and wanted them all to go inside and find shelter, warmth, and comfort in the main ballroom. Vigilante wished to join them immediately, but he did not, for he wanted more to wait for any late arrivals that may come. He had not seen his daughter Amaranth and her small family, nor had he seen his adopted son, Kambujiya.

Other members entered the hotel, but Haven was far too worried and distracted to pay them any mind. His thoughts were focused completely on his pups and he knew he would not be able to calm down until he saw them all and knew that they were all okay. The Knight looked to his side and saw Princess change forms and check on Felicity. His jades had an anxious light in them but soon it was clear that their smallest daughter was fine as Princess changed back to her optime form, pulled on a dress, and came over to him with the bundled up Felicity. His mate untied the blankets strapped to his back and once they were loosened he carefully stepped away and nosed the folds of the blankets open. The air soon filled with squeaking complaints as Robin and Linden were exposed to the warm air and the new father heaved a large sigh of relief. They had all made it unscathed.

Now assured of the welfare of his pups, Haven slipped the sword and clothes over his neck and changed back to his own two legged form. His ochre fur was wet and matted down in some places, but that was of little concern. The Aatte quickly pulled his clothes back on and then sat down next to his mate and picked up his son and daughter, holding them close to his chest. His face moved to give Princess a quick kiss on her cheek as he said a silent prayer, thanking the powers that be for the safe passage of his family through the storm.
