"See you around," he replied out of sheer politeness, nodding as the golden-brown coyote left the clearing. Leaving the deer for Umbra, he noted. Umbra, who would in turn leave what was left of the carcass later that night to whoever came by. Whether that was Laruku or someone else, Umbra didn't much care.
Glancing toward the deer, he then went up to it and grabbed hold of it by the leg. It wouldn't do to leave it all in the open like this. Besides, he'd been half the hunting party, and he'd been first in line to eat. That made it his deer, in a way. Even though he wasn't that interested in keeping it. But still...
So he dragged the carcass closer to the tree he'd picked to rest under, leaving a blood trail along the grass. If he could have, he would've fettered it to himself, but as it was, he just kept an eye on it as he lay down in the shadow of the tree. He'd eat some more of it before heading out later that day.
