Spin a web of deceit

Border-marking was a day to day duty. The luperci took it as seriously as she took the rest of her job, considering it a life or death task. The last time that a canine had ignored their borders on her and Teddy’s watch, they had been killed for their intrusion. It had ended up being some sort of a misunderstanding, but the fact remained that the male had come deep into her lands and had been sneaking around their denning area, regardless of what Kaena and Gabriel had insisted.

She could only believe others so much; many canines spun webs of lies as easily as the truth, a fact she was well aware of. The Angela had told many a lie in her own lifetime, especially in situations in which she’d needed to look good to protect herself or her family in the cult pack. And she would lie again at her own convenience if she needed to here.

The shifted wolf looked toward the sky, stretching her arms up into the air before allowing them to fall back down at her sides. It was a warm enough day outside; she was almost sweating by the time she got around to the northwestern portion of their hilly territory. Naniko reached down to pick up some snow from the ground, melting it in her hands and lapping up the water as she looked out over the borderlands. So far, the day had been very uneventful. But maybe that would change.

OOC: thanks for getting this up <3 +5

He hadn't been over this way in a long time. Something always told him to stay away from the mountain's east side. The west was part of Inferni so he was not so scared to move freely over there, but something about the east side told him that it was not safe, and that he needed to be more careful than he was on the other side of the mountain. A frown was thick on his face, he was not happy to be here, subtle change in spirit of this place was enough to put him off. Why was he here again? Oh yeah, he wanted to see what the hell was over here. Scents got thicker and thicker as he would move on, Maschine accompanied him again today, wanting to accompany his master to the places of the unknown for no other reason than to be nosy. Cotl did not ask for the steed to follow, he just simply did, and he stayed much closer than he would normally only because Cotl left the packlands. It was rare for Cotl to leave the clanlands without Maschine, so it was curious to the steed, so he simply had to see what was up. Cotl didn't care if the steed followed or not, so he just continued on his way.

Cotl ignored the equine the entire time, figuring that he'd get bored and leave to go back to Inferni. It wasn't until the steed started to scout ahead that Cotl figured out that Maschine was venturing with Cotl, no matter what really. It was half way when Cotl decided that he would start to run after the horse, just to chase, and have fun. He ran on his fours in his optime form, sword slung across his back and bouncing lightly as he ran after the steed. Maschine would see this game of chase emerge and he would start to run away from the coydog, straight towards the elusive pack of Anathema. Funny thing was that Cotl knew not of their existence, so he was not expecting a pack to be anywhere around. Cotl and Maschine would run through the hilly terrain though, without a care in the world, Luperci and Equine playing, even though Cotl sorta did look like he was going to viciously attack the stallion. If Maschine was in an danger, the steed would just kick Cotl. That's all it would take really.

Cotl would be hit with a strong scent right as he was getting within the range of the borders of Anathema. It made the metalhead stop in his tracks. Cotl would then realize that this scent was similar to another he had encountered not too long ago. Cotl's maw bore a frown as he had looked to his steed, who blatantly would pass the source of the thick smell, it being the piss smell of borders. Cotl's nose was aware of it, and he twitched his neck and cleared his throat as he sniffed around the grasses that were finally starting to emerge. The man would take to his two legs and he would look at his equine friend and shake his head. Maschine had slowed to a trot, but didn't stop, probably thinking that he won the game, but the game had simply been disrupted by wolves.

Cotl would have to run after his steed though, so he took to his fours again, and he trotted across the borders. Maschine! Komm back! Cotl yelled to the equine, who stopped at the top of a hill. The blue-eyed steed would turn it's tattooed head back towards it's master and then it would swing it's head over to what he saw. There was a white wolf sitting there, taking the snow from the ground and drinking it. Cotl remained close to the ground, he didn't want to be seen, though he probably would have been spotted as a rust and coal being against a spotty white and green terrain. He growled lightly to himself as he had gotten back up on his two legs and he had followed where Maschine was. Once he was up next to Maschine, he touched the coal and snow pelted beast on the flank and casted his gaze out towards the horizon. He saw what Maschine saw immediately. A white wolf. Cotl's frown deepened. He'd already been seen and he didn't expect for this wolf to just let him leave without anything said. Cotl simply watched and gave a twitch of his neck to the right and a NYEH escape his mouth.

Yeah, then I fail at actually answering it <3

The horse came into her vision first, then the male that followed it. She dropped the remaining snow to the ground, taking a step back to put a little more room between herself and the pair. Naniko couldn't do much against a luperci on a horse with only her daggers to defend herself, especially if the horse was trained in battle...had Inferni sent this beast and his mount to send her a warning? There were many possibilities to as why the pair were at her borders.

"Hello" She called over the expanse of land between them, ears perked warily. Had the horse gotten away from its owner? She'd heard his voice before she had seen the short man...what was the name he had called? Naniko cleared her throat then spoke, her voice holding no hostility or suspicion. "What are you doing out here?"

Of course the woman would have seen the rust man. It was unavoidable now that she had seen him, and he assumed that if he had just turned around and left, the woman would chase him down and ask him stupid questions. Plus, Cotl would have stupid questions of his own simply because the scent that he smelt right now had been oddly close to the smell that was coming off of Izaak's thawing pelt. The scent had also stayed in the pelt for a few days before it had been replaced by the stench of Inferni again. Bi-colored eyes were stuck on the woman, she would not see the similarities between the two, Izaak and Cotl, not unless she knew what Marik looked like, then she would be able to realize that Izaak had distinctive features that made him look like an Ulrich when compared to Marik. Izaak and Cotl had little common as far as looks went. The woman called to him though, and asked him what he was doing out here. Cold eyes stayed pinned on the woman, and he even hesitated to speak to the woman and he just stared at her for a moment.

Cotl looked to Maschine for a second before his eyes went back to the emerald eyed woman that was across the way. Mein horse gots avay. the accented tongue of the man spoke to the woman, before his throat would clear itself and his neck would twitch rather noticeably to the right before he had opened his maw to speak again. -BITCHCUNTDICKFACE- Ich vas getting ihr back... he spoke, his words affected by his condition. Someding happened here...In vinter.. Ein dead boy smelt auf dis land.. the man growled lightly, speaking of his nephew that had been assassinated by someone of this pack. Who it was, he did not know. Not yet. Nor did he know that he was standing right in front of the woman who had poisoned his family.

She had spoken with the leaders of Inferni and smoothed things over as best she could; that was all that she could do. They'd been pretty pissed. Naniko had only done what she thought was right at the time by killing the intruder, as Inferni surely would have done if one of her wolves had been stupid enough to trespass and then appear to be entering their den system.

Normal speech came from at first, but then came a string of curses that made her ears go back. "I've been nothing but civil to you; why do you speak to me like that?" She asked. No one would disrespect her in her own territory. She frowned deeply, staring back at him. "And what about the boy? That matter was taken care of."

Inferni had been sorry about the loss of the boy, but there had been no personal apology from murderer to family member. Cotl did not come here to request this, nor did he expect one. Cotl didn't come here on purpose either. Maschine had led him here in the end. The woman asked why he spoke like he did, like any ignorant other would do, so he mentally prepared himself to tell her. His mouth opened and the first thing to fall from his maw was a grunt and then a clear of his throat and then he was able to speak. Ist happens. Nicht on purpose. the man spoke, shaking his head to her. Then she had gone on to speak of 'the boy'. His name vas -NYEH-Izaak Hadyn Ulrich. the German spoke at first, his ice-fire eyes were on the woman, they were cold, unfriendly. Cotl had no reason to be friendly. He really didn't.

He ist just ein simple matter to du? Was vas die reason for him having to die? He vas barely ein year old! the man visibly got slightly angry, his hackles standing on edge slightly. He kept his distance though, not willing to get close to the woman. He was not trusting of her, and her kind lately. His ears pulled back against his skull. Just talking to die packs leaders doesn't-FUCKINGBULLSHITMOTHERFUCK- ease die pain auf die ones who knew him. His family. the man spoke, bitterly, he hated this, all of this that was happening now, with his mouth being loud and his emotions filtering through his bitter words to the woman. He hated caring that his nephew was killed. He hated it all and there was nothing he could do about it, absolutely nothing. The pain was just fuel to his anger though, it wasn't anything else but this. Instead of sorrow, he just felt anger now. When he was done speaking, his fingers had unknowingly balled into fists at his side. The man twitched his neck to the right and he shook his head. His hand went to Maschine's reigns but he could not just let his eyes drop off the woman. He wanted her to see that he did not fear her. He couldn't. He wouldn't.

She wasn't sure what exactly it was that he wanted to know about the canine that had wandered into her territory. Naniko had taken the intruder's presence just as that, an intrusion...and she and Theodore had taken care of him. His odd babbling and suspicious appearance just outside of their den had been enough to seal his fate. She wasn't one to quickly jump to violence, but one didn't wander into Inferni and up to their denning area and expect to live if they were caught. Anathema was much the same.

"He was responsible for his own actions. Intruding deep into a pack territory...attempting to infiltrate our denning system. Perhaps he was more cunning than you gave him credit for." She still didn't understand a few of the odd words that flew from Cotl's mouth, the german, but she understood curse words well enough. Why he would be cursing at her was evident, though; he was upset about the death of that "boy". "I'm sure Inferni's leaders would have done the same if it had been one of mine."
