Please note; Thornbury would be run by Cercatori D'Arte, but the packs would be a lot more like... business companies and the like. A ruling group, mainly a high-class family. If Shaw wants to post to this, like she said she might, then it's up to her if Shawchert is the Alpha, basically Mayor, of the town. Think of it as Current Time, but with higher tech and a lot less polution.

How amazingly quickly had they advanced, in such a short timeframe. The Luperci race had by far outdone their human ancestors, creating technology that by far surpassed that of anything the furless bipeds had come up with. They never bothered with fossil fuels and the like, heading straight on to the hybrid technologies already thought of. It quickly progressed to solar and wind powered turbines, which opened up hundreds of windows for amazing possibilities.

Surprisingly, the American countries took the evolutionary advancements by storm, quickly outdoing their European sisters to the East. Too soon did they become the world's finest cultures in high-tech gadgets and advancements were still being made every day. No one went anywhere without their communicators, or their hand-held tablets, now perfectly portable and holographic, and completely enviromentally safe.

Farming took off like a shot, even with the new-age technology. The good treatment to the animals housed and raised in farms made for an excellent source of income, far better than the simple livestock the humans had previously forced into breeding. Humans had horse whisperers; Luperci had low-speakers, able to communicate perfectly with their beastial kin.

And now that we've come to terms with this futuristic setting, why don't we narrow it down to just one little soul. A miss Sky Katruk, at the age of two. Living just outside of Halifax, in a surprisingly high-class town called Thornbury, young miss Sky was doing well for herself. Her job? A doctor, spending her free time away in clubs, singing and preforming for a little extra cash on the side. Her home? A nice sized duplex apartment on the edge of town.

Sky was feeling good these days. Though the young wolfdog often kept to herself, preferring the sweet silence of her e-books over the bustle of downtown affairs, she'd come to accept the fact that her nightlife was one best spent in the company of many others. The more of a crowd she drew in, the better the pay, the better she ate, and the less she had to worry about paying rent. Money didn't come for free, afterall, and doctors were getting shit pay with the current economy rates.

Tonight was the opening night of a new hot club downtown. The name of the place was Black Light, and as the name would suggest, it was a lively, fun place to be, with booming music and exotic drinks served at a retro-fitted bar off to the side. She'd been asked formally to attend the opening night as a singer, and she'd happily agreed, what with the owner being a close friend.

Dressed in a tight black lady's tee, with rainbow stripes down each side, and a pair of tight dark-wash jeans, it was hard to say that she could ever pass as the exotic entertainer of the place. Such as it was, though, she was somewhat famous downtown, for her beautiful voice and her adorable curves and motions. A recent new haircut, short and sweeped to one side neatly, added to this daring look, amongst black studded leather belts and elbow-high gloves of the same liking.

Tonight she had decided to wear her sleek, black boots. The ones that came up to her knees, over top of her jeans, and buckled together many times down the backs with thick leather straps. To finish the look, she quickly slipped on a black suade jacket, though she doubted she'd keep it on very long. The club got hot, and fast.

Now she stood back-stage, and sure enough, her jacket had been shedded to the closet. Taking a swing from a bottle of water, she waited a bit impatiently as the first-time customers filed into the sleek and retro joint, ready for a night of fun and for some, danger. It was always the same, but for some reason, Sky had taken a liking to this specific layout. It was new, refreshing, and somehow, welcoming, despite the neon and blood feel to it.

A voice sounded over from the DJ's booth, off to the left of the stage, announcing Sky's preformance. So the gang was all here. Time to rock the house. Setting her bottle down on the backstage table, girl brushed herself down, took a few breaths, flashed a grin towards Donny, the owner, and headed out to the stage. As soon as she made her first few steps in sight of the crowd, there was roaring approval. Yes, she was indeed well liked and well known here in Thornbury.

The music started, and so did she. Bringing a hand up to her headset right quick, just to test the quality of the sound, her voice suddenly carried out over the speakers in an upbeat live preformance. She swung, rocked, twirled, jerked and slid with the music, never missing a single beat as her voice carried flawlessly over the crowded black and neon dancefloor.

Opening night of Black Light had begun. She didn't have to work all weekend, thanks to a co-worker taking her shifts, which meant the young and local star was ready and willing to preform all night if the crowd demanded so. As she sang out to a rocking beat, listening and watching as the crowd went wild, dancing along with her below the stage, she knew damn well they'd never let her leave.

This was just one of the many reasons Sky adored her double life in Thornbury, the town famous for its wicked taste in entertainment.

OOC: Yeaaahhh I tried Tongue

He was one of the high ranked socials in the area. He was well known as any mayor should be, so he had to be careful of how he acted and who he associated with. Shawchert, however was not one to always abide by the rules, especially in this society. He liked going out and to the local bars at that, though he did not do much drinking himself, he did enjoy the music that the bands tended to play in such places. Shaw wished he had been one to join just a band, but his skills were with the flute alone, he had no other playing abilities. He was not a dancer himself, but he watched those who made fools of themselves as well as the ones that were able to go at it and make it look as natural as walking did.

So when a new club had been announced Shaw couldn’t miss it, he didn’t have to choose anything nice to wear, a pair of loose jeans and a plain blue t shirt did him fine. He was never one to dress up outside of work, even though he was still technically working outside of work, but that was all technicality, he liked being a businessman, but he did have other enjoyments as well.

Upon entering the place he saw that it was nicely filled and there was someone already on the stage signing. His eye caught her and the sound of her voice… well it was a heart melter, that was for sure. He would possibly have to stay there until she was finished to get her name. that was what he was planning at least. He was a bachelor but he knew right off this beautiful young woman had to already have a man in her life, so he would not have a chance at anything. He chuckled to himself, thinking about asking her out, well it wasn’t unheard of, but it was to him, who had always shied away from relationships. He sat at a table closest to the stage watching the woman singing and the band playing. It did make his feet dance a little, though he knew he was not about to get up and do so.

One song ended, another began, but this time, Sky was replaced with someone else who'd come to sing. A male. So, the hybrid girl took her bow, greeted the other preformer, then trotted off stage with a sigh and a stretch. She'd sing again later. For now, though, she was off to get a drink at the bar. Just something smooth and easy. Really, she had no taste for hard liquor or beer; both tasted nasty in her opinion.

Martinis though. They were goood.

"Hey John," She greeted as she took a seat at the bar. The 'tender, a large black wolf, smiled at her from behind the counter, cleaning a glass. "Hey beautiful, what'll it be tonight?" Sky had met John at the Snakeskin Lounge, where he'd worked for six months before the damned place had closed down. She'd gone there for the karaoke nights, and the two had become friends.

John had a wife and three kids back home. He was also going into his elderly years. Sky looked up to him like a father, cause the old black brute always had an ear to lend, or advice to give.

"Just a gray goose, please. I'm not feeling the spice tonight." She smiled, and the man nodded, turned away from his keg glass to go about mixing her the drink. She took this chance to swivel in the chair and lean backwards against the bar, looking out at the crowd. Most of the people who'd seen and heard her before kept their distance; they knew better than to flirt with her. She never, ever, went home with anyone. They didn't stand a chance. The one time she'd even remotely spoken to someone, it had been a girl around her age, and the two had decided not to bother going to either place that night. A kiss goodnight, as Sky walked the other to her car, and that had been it.

John came up behind her with the drink, whistling for her attention. The hybrid whirled around and smiled. "Excellent. Just stick it on my tab, and I'll pay it next weekend." She slipped the glass close and took a sip from the murky drink, licking the olive as she placed it back down. John smiled an old man's grin and nodded. "A'ight, Sky-lark. You take care of yourself." And with a slight wave, both went back to their own business.

Sky mused over how well everyone seemed to know her, despite keeping to herself all this time, as she turned to face the crowd again, watching the man on stage with less than a sound amount of interest. It was always the same thing for her, and she'd have it no other way. With how stressful work was, and how boring home was, the clubs were the best part of her routine. Sure, she kept single and whatnot, but she still met good friends at night. It was the good life, with no debate involved.

Shaw knew when she was finished and he watched as she moved to the bar and talked to the man as though she were a regular. This interested the man a bit, but he did not move. No he could tell the woman was not one who would take kindly to idle flirtations. He would wait for a bit. Now that he could see her up close, she really was a very pretty woman, no doubt she knew that too. Taking his time he stood up and moved past a few luperci, who waved at him, and he waved back, many of the people around knew him yes, how could they not? It was not like he was the local celebrity, he was heading toward her right now. He was the Mayor, an important enough man, who didn’t have that ego to go with it. He sat a chair away from the woman the man behind the bar called sky-lark. Ordering himself some water. The nice thing about being Mayor, he was not questioned about what he drank at the bar. Though he could read those questions in a local tabloid. Looking her way slightly he addressed the singer.

I know you definitely get this a lot, but you’re singing is quite fantastic.

He said, taking a drink from his water, he wasn’t here to flirt, just show interest that he liked her singing, he reminded himself. She was talented, and he liked talking to talented people, besides he had his own musical interest, with the flute, yes, an instrument normally only played in orchestras, but he had learned a long time ago they could be used for other reasons and other ways, though he rarely did such things in public, apparently that wasn’t mayor like. Though he did play in the privacy of his home, where he knew no prying eyes peeked in. at least they better not be. He had rights too. He decided to keep it short and see how that went, but he would make sure that she understood he was not there as any other wolf would be and that was flirting, as he noticed she didn’t have a crowd around her already, she must have certainly been taken and everyone knew it.

Maybe he would've been better off with a different wording, because the first thing he got in return was a side-long glance of very slight irritation. Here we go, first batter up to plate. She sighed softly, and glanced over at him, clearly bored of it already. "You're right. I do get it a lot." Strike one, but the older male wasn't out of the running quite yet. Surprisingly enough, she decided to give him a once-over look, starting at his hips and moving up to his face, where she settled at his eyes. Blue, but lighter than her own. Just barely.

Blue eyes had to be rare in these parts, cause she rarely saw any wolves with the solid blue she and this stranger seemed to share. Girl went on to note that he was drinking water; normally John would've commented on it, so something must've been up. She looked back to the man again, taking a moment to squint and tilt her head, puzzled. He looks familiar.

That's when it dawned on her, finally. Under the dark lights, and wearing those casual clothes, it was hard to say that this man was anyone important. It was the splash of red, and the cleanly brushed fur that ticked her memory into place. That's where she'd seen this guy before! This was the Mayor! She blinked in realization, then turned around to face the bar again, suddenly interested, but not in flirting.

"Wait a tic- aren't you Mayor Manue?" Her voice wasn't impressed, simply surprised. Why would the Mayor be showing up in the night-life end of town? This place was shadey, at the best of times, even here at Black Light. Sure, the place was new, but it was crowded to the brim with people from all over the city, mostly the folks from the area. People from the downtown didn't take well to strangers on the streets, and they certainly didn't take well to official faces. Not in the least.

OOC: well... I so tried XD Shaw might just fail HAHAHA

Yeah he knew he didn’t hit off right with his first comment, but he did have to tell her. He shrugged slightly, thinking of a few words to smooth over his stupidity. He chewed on a piece of ice as he thought it over for a second then spoke again.
Well I suppose you got it one more time. I think I’ve become an admirer of your voice, though your taste in company could be better.

He was referring to himself, as it seemed she was alone in any case. It was a tactic that usually worked, though he couldn’t tell with this one. Things were quiet as he took a drink from his water, and soon it seemed to click in her that he was the mayor. He shook his head and held up a hand. He may be mayor but he was not one with a big head, he did what needed to be done and that was that, he kept this city in order, and helped make it was today. He loved the scene that it was famous for, the night clubs mini bands, singers, it all fit for him.

I’m only that when I’m working, I’m normally called Shawchert or Shaw by my friends.

He said giving her a slight smile, ok so he really wasn’t trying to flirt too much with her, though friends were more rewarding in any case. He was sure he wouldn’t see this female groveling at his feet though, somehow he just couldn’t see it in her at all. Something that Shawchert would like in a friend. Hopefully she got his indication and he looked at her, she was a pretty enough kind of girl, she had a damn good voice, but to just outright flirt in public like this, was quite dangerous for him… and it would be the best thing for magazines and local tabloids and newspapers.
