Makhesthai sat and stared at the tree, his eyes unblinking; so far the knot in the tree that looked like a pair of eyes was winning but he was determined that he would win at least one of the tries. The tree was on 6 wins so far and Maki was still on zero. The wind ruffled his fur and pulled at his ear, making him blink for a seventh time in a row, his pale blue eyes watered up and he rubbed at them with a paw. He gave up his quest to out stare the tree, long standing patience was not a bailiwick he possesed and with one last glare at it, he turned his back and walked away with his tail held high as though loosing to the wood was nothing to him.
He sighed and looked around himself for something to do or if anyone was around. He was trying to meet with the clan members that hopefully he would one day fight alongside in their constant quest to defend their borders. Kaena's explanation to him of clan life with other coyotes and hybrids had been inspiring to his young mind, he was not adamant that he would grow up to be a protector of Inferni, he would make Kaena proud that she had decided to keep him for safe. He smiled at the strange and disjointed way he used to speak and think, again he had Kaena to thank for his improved speech and grammar which was invaluable if he were to convince his clan mates that he could be useful if given the chance, tree staring contests aside.

Finding no one around that he could see at the moment he decided he should head back to Kaena's den and see if she was around to play with him. Another quick look around and he loped back towards the caves at a slow and steady pace.

OOC:Been a long time coming ^^

It had been quite an uneventful day that day as Revan walked along on one of his daily hikes. This morning he had decided to try and locate some type of bag that he could use to carry objects in. It was the first time he had ever set out to purposefully collect something and it kind of felt great to have a goal set for the day besides just going on his daily hikes and setting the distance further and further. More often that not these days he wondered what his place was going to be in the pack. He had learned a lot from Kesho the last time he had met him and the training had gotten him quite excited about the possibility of becoming a scout, but would he ever be able to prove himself worthy of climbing the ranks and living among the elite of Inferni?

Of course he knew that it would take a lot of hard work and determination to even label himself a scout. Sure he had received some training from Kesho, learned a lot about the workings of Inferni, but how was he going to prove himself? He wondered if intruders made a habit of trying to invade Inferni's borders, but of course if that was the issue there would be a lot more scouts patrolling the borders, wouldn't there? Maybe that's why he was sent here by fate, to help his pack fight off the invaders that were planning to violate his home, his family outside of his birth family, but he would have to wait and see for that to happen. One thing was for sure, if the time did come, Revan would be the first one charging.

His thoughts were interrupted suddenly as an alien scent suddenly invaded his nose, though it possessed the tell tale signals that labeled the stranger as a pack member. The scent belonged to a male, but he could also distinctly pick up a faint scent of a female as well mixed in. A quick glance around his surroundings alerted him to a small pup loping purposefully though obliviously along and he smiled. It was only obvious that the female's scent belonged to the pup's mother, but the scent was faint so he assumed the pup's mother wasn't around, letting the pup have free reign of the pack lands. This was a perfect opportunity to put his new sneak skills to the test and it would all be in good fun for both the pup and the pup at heart Jackal. Revan crouched low and hid behind a bush, body only inches from the ground, his paws kneading the ground as he remembered the words that Kesho had spoken that day.

Move with the earth, not against it... This was going to be fun, though he hoped the pup wouldn't get too freaked out by his actions, but he didn't worry too much. After all, Rose had seemed to love their sneaking games when they were pups.

Maki suddenly stopped. He felt like he was being watched. The feeling of being watched had long been drilled into him from even before he had opened his eyes and was still small and very helpless. It had allowed him to recognize when his mother was staring at them and crawl to put himself in front of his brothers and sister protecting them so that he would take the most damage from her wrath. And after their eyes had opened he had still used it as a warning device as she had glared at them from across her dark, dank den and they huddled together nervously at the other end.

He looked about himself, and was for some reason unable to pinpoint where it was coming from. He growled softly in frustration, the fur about his shoulders and hackles rising and his one torn ear pulling back, the foliage and trees were putting him off. He did not appreciate being stalked by whoever it was like he was some common mouse or prey animal. His intense blue eyes scanned the area searching for anything that was out of place or wrong and his puppyish growl got a little louder. He huffed and planted his butt on the ground, his eyes still searching suspiciously.

OOC:No fail post rawr <3 Love the table ^^

So far Revan had been able to stay out of sight and undiscovered, but of course it was only a matter of time before his luck ran out and the jackal could be discovered. Once he thought he had been caught as the pup had looked directly at the bush he was hiding in, but the moment the pup looked away and sat down Revan knew the jig wasn't up quite yet. As he thought of what his next move would be, he wondered just who this pup belonged to. So far in his hikes and meetings of various members, though it was only a select few, he had never seen a pup around here before. This was something new, something exciting, and he was determined to show this pup that not all adults were so focused on hard work all the time, not all adults lost their puppy side.

The moment his eyes laid upon a small pebble, Revan smiled widely as an idea formed within his mind. Taking the stone within his mouth, he held onto it carefully with his teeth, not wanting to risk being discovered by shifting into Optime form, and waited for the right moment. When the right moment came, Revan counted to three and lobbed the rock from his mouth, sending it sailing off in a random direction as he was too busy focusing on his next move to notice. When he heard the rock hit a bush, though he wasn't sure if it was behind the pup or in what direction it was, he took off, keeping low to the ground, sneaking right towards the pup.

THis would be it, either he would be discovered or the pup would have walked off to discover what the source of the noise was as he had planned. Either way, he was having a lot of fun, though he did feel a little bad that it was at the pup's expense. All would be well however, as he would make it up to the pup when the time came. Sneaking carefully up to the pup, he prayed and hoped, waiting to see if he would be prematurely discovered or if his plan went off without a hitch.

Makhesthai's head swung around as a rock sailed out from somewhere and landed with a loud rustling noise in some bushes, the pup stood up cautiously and began to pad towards where it had landed. He found the rock that had been flung, it had crashed through the stem of a small shrub and severed it completely, the newly growing leaves of the plant were strewn about its dieing stem and Makhesthai couldn't help but feel a small amount of pity for the shrub-ling that would never grow now, in his mind he likened it to his brothers and sister who had had their lives cut short before it even began, his youngest brother never even got a chance to open his eyes fully before his strings to life were cruelly and callously severed.

A stick snapped and Makhesthai whirled around only to see a dark furred male seemingly charging towards him. He jumped back and up with a sharp cry of surprise, ending up pedaling his forelegs in the air, his balance was thrown off resulting in him landing on his back in the dirt. He curled up into a ball and whimpered fearfully, flashbacks playing before his eyes. His heart pounded in to his ears as terror took over his body forcing his to his short feet and to turn tail and run away from this attacking giant of a male. The pup ran back the way he had come, his breaths coming in short bursts at a time, his eyes wide and the fear within them evident for any to see who crossed his path. Makhesthai would swear he had never run so fast in all his life and when he finally reached Kaena's cave, thankfully empty he was completely exhausted and curled up into his corner shivering and whimpering
