Geneva surveyed the damage from the storm, her lime green eyes tracing splintered wood and ruined floors. The snow had begun to melt, moistening the hardwood floors. Some of the floor was ruined from water damage. Geneva swept some of it away, getting down on her knees and pushing the slush away with her arms. She frowned as she experimentally pushed on some of the floorboards.

What once had been her beautiful home with her mate and her son was nothing short of a wreck. She felt as though she was kneeling among the ruins of a structure that had long been abandoned, although that was far from the case. Her eyes traced different parts of the house and she could instantly pull up little memories that had seemed so insignificant when they had first taken place. Now, she wished more than anything that she could relive some of them in the present. Talk with her son while sprawled out on the floor, share a quiet evening with Jefferson by the fire. But none of that could happen now. Taking in the extent of the damage, it seemed hard to believe that they could ever recapture their lives here again.

But despite how hard it would be, Geneva was determined to push forward. She rose from her kneeling position, brushing the snow off of her hands as she did so. As she stood amidst the damage of the storm, she felt her resolve double. Life would continue. She could rebuild her home. She could resume.

Ookami needed some fresh air. He had been cooped up for way to long. He managed to stand and pressed his back right paw against his belly and hobbled out of Adonia's cabin. He made his way to the barn, smelling someone on the wind. He saw the ruins and shook his head, Adonia would be heartbroken. He followed the scent and found Geneva standing above the ruined ranch. He stopped and watched her. He could see the pain that she was feeling, it seemed to flow from her body. He sighed quietly. "It's terrible."

He breathed a deep breath. He had not visited the barn nearly as much as Geneva or Adonia had but he still felt welcome whenever he would pass it. It seemed like a wonderful and fascinating place to him and he felt at home while he was in it. He remembered when he first saw the ranch after the storm. Adonia and several other horses were hurt. He shook away the painful memory. He stood where he was, ready to see how Geneva would react.

Jace was rooting through one of the destroyed cabins. So far she had not found anything of particular use and she sat back on her haunches, huffing gently. She had taken Jefferson's words to heart and was dedicating herself to the task of trying to salvage what she could. Her mismatched gaze surveyed the damaged and ruined cabin and she gave it up as a bad job, she turned to leave her paw coming down on a nail that was sticking out of a collapsed beam. She yelped and jumped backwards, holding her paw up to inspect the damage.

The wound was superficial and bled a little, she licked the paw before shifting into her optime form. She reached over with her non injured hand and grabbed her crutch made out of a wooden stick. In the distance she saw the remains of the ranch and felt a sorrow in her heart. It still looked magnificent and she was sure when it was still intact that it would have been extraordinary.

She decided to pay the ranch a visit, after all destroyed or not it was still part of her home and she should know every inch of it. It took her quite a long while to reach the ranch and when she finally did, she found it was not unoccupied like she had originally thought. She wagged her tail as she came into view of Ookami, she hoped her friend was well. As she got even closer she saw that Geneva was also in attendance, it was only then that she understood that the ranch must've been her home and the sadness she felt increased.

She stopped a few meters away from the Alpha's mate and fiddled with her fur hesitantly before speaking,

"Ma'am? Is there anything I can do to help?" Jace flattened her ears and looked at Geneva sadly, Jace did not know how she would deal with it had the ranch been her home and it been destroyed in a storm.

He had been making these lands a second home to him, he had been stocking Bunny, and Dot, he had to know if Bunny was with children and Dot was still in need to learn a lesson. Lucifer would make it crystal clear that she understood what her rank was around him as so long as she lived. The black male stomped though the pack lands, he would live here but liked the freedom to come and go from where he was now. Naniko didn’t seem to mind since he didn’t have a job in the pack land and he didn’t want one either, he was happy with doing whatever he wanted.

He tossed the scarf over his shoulder as he pulled the tattered leather jacket closer over his chest as the male walked though the lands, sickened in a way that any of his spots that he could have some fun with Bunny or Dot was pretty much gone now. Looking out at the white blanketed land the ebony male saw the silver female and a male that was almost the color of fire standing there, then like a sight for sore eyes Dot was standing there, oh how the black male was thrilled to see her again. Making his way his duo sapphire eyes locked onto Dot as he wanted to take her down right there. The black male looked at the others with a shake of his head. ”Maybe you guys just better leave the lands and join another pack and call this trash done for.”

"And maybe you shouldn't stick your nose where it doesn't belong." Came a growling voice nearby Lucifer. Tyrone passed by the foreign wolf at a slow, stalking rate, his eyes fixed on the intruder. Lucifer's appearance and smell indicated he was not a wolf of Phoenix Valley, and although Ty had no grounds to call this wolf hostile, the obvious intrusion into the Valley meant he had the potential to be. He circled the intruder just enough to put himself between Lucifer and the other wolves, his glare boring holes into the foreigner.

After placing himself between the new wolf and his pack mates, he turned his attention to the downtrodden Geneva. He hadn't spoken to her since before the snow storm, and now that the storm was over, he wanted to help her out any way he could. The woman was practically family to him, a gentle pack leader who had tried her best to keep Phoenix Valley together, and what had happened to her to show for it? A broken home. Clearly she was in need for some help, and Ty was more than willing to help her out. However, he didn't say anything to her yet, he simply sat nearby and kept an eyes locked on Lucifer, though he had no reason to attack the wolf just yet.

As her pack mates gathered one by one in a loose knot around her. They stood amidst the ruins of what once had been the central meeting place of Phoenix Valley. It did not surprise the gray woman that they would naturally gravitate toward the ranch house, ruined or not. As her lime green gaze swept over her broken home, she realized that much worse could have happened. Her home was not beyond repair. It would be difficult to mend, but she realized in the space of a few moments that she was surrounded by those with helping hands and open hearts. It no longer seemed impossible to imagine that her home might some day be restored.

”It is sad, Geneva said, lifting her light green gaze to regard Ookami, and she offered him a small smile, her gaze sweeping to include the wolfdog, Jace, within their conversation. “But this damage is not permanent. No problem is insurmountable. I am grateful that we are all still here, more than anything.” That much was true. It had not been structures or buildings that had haunted her as she had been trapped in the storm, far removed from home. It had been the health and welfare of her family and friends and pack mates. They had not emerged unscathed from winter’s wrath, but they had survived nonetheless. ”How are you faring?” Geneva said, citing her gentle refusal at Jace’s offer for immediate aid. For now, it was important to secure themselves as much as possible. ”Is your shelter secure, comfortable? Do you need anything?”

Before Geneva had much time to react to the intrusion, Ty appeared. The battle scarred male put himself between his pack mates and the offending party, typical for the ginger colored male. The Nasphrite warrior had a natural tendency to put himself between his friends and danger. She was grateful for his presence, but she felt heat pooling in the pit of her stomach and flaring up through her throat to explode through her nostrils as she exhaled noisily, frost forming on her breath.
Despite her insignificant stature, Geneva was the highest ranking Valley pack member here. And although she did not often seek confrontation, now she could not bring herself to stay passive. Drawing herself to her full, though short, height, she stepped beside Ty, looking Lucifer straight in the face. ”Guard your tongue and change your tone, Lucifer, before you find your invitation to walk on these lands revoked,” she said tersely and succinctly, cold authority creeping into her tone. ”This is not your home; these are not your lands. You would do well to remember that.”

Geneva was furious, and it manifested itself in the form of quiet and contained rage. She did not often give in to her more powerful emotions, but she would not swallow them down in the face of such an affront. ”Naniko is a friend, but my feelings of affection for her do not extend to all in her domain. I will not suffer the annoyance of your presence long, wolf. You will conduct yourself respectfully, or I will leave Naniko to deal with you, after I am done.” Geneva was no fool. Despite the fact that Naniko was her best friend on the planet, she knew for a fact that the female had changed, and her darker side had driven her to more violent tendencies. Geneva loved her regardless of the way she conducted herself, because despite their different life choices, Geneva knew when it came down to it, Naniko would support her and deal with her wolf however she saw fit. And if she did have to tell Naniko about the callous Lucifer, if the punishment ran bloody...well, that was the Angela's concern, but Geneva wouldn't mind one bit.

She would not allow him to insult this land and its inhabitants with his insolence.

She looked down at the grey woman with empathy and sadness and the wind turned blowing Ookami's scent towards her. She twisted sharply as it did, he smelt of luperci now, not just from hanging about with luperci's but it emanated from HIM and her heart sank, guilt swelling up inside her. She made a note to talk to him later about it. She turned her attention back to the Second and she shook her head, not willing to admit to the fair woman that she had not yet managed to find a place to stay

She caught a flash of black in her vision and turned her head and saw him....what was he doing here? Why was he here? The sneering leer on his face made her want to throttle him and tear out his shriveled black poisonous heart. Her ears pulled back and a savage snarl echoed up her throat and out of her maw, The crutch that she lent against was pulled up, now held a a weapon and her other hand flashed down to her thigh where the hunting knife still stained with his blood was strapped, grasping the time worm handle in her grasp, his eyes locked onto hers and he opened his mouth and insulted Phoenix Valley boldly to their faces, her snarl deepened. She wondered if anyone had noticed that she had begun snarling before he had open his venomous maw.

A feeling of smug amusement crept through her as the Alpha's female put him in his place thoroughly although she still raised her hunting knife threateningly, her eyes and the dried blood taunting him that she had won their last violent encounter. The wolf she had met before, Ty was here as well, seemingly materializing. out of nowhere as though he were a shadow following the black demon

Lucifer was quickly meet with the tongue lashing of two of the pack members. The silver female was more demanding and yet somehow knew his name. Lucifer’s hands went to his chest as he smirked a hand then feel to his side, to feel the warmth off the calico female that he purpose picked to stand near. He wanted her to squirm and he wanted her to feel just a bit of panic, she was going to pay for what she had done; she was going to learn her role in this relationship.

When the golden male placed him-self between Lucifer and his pet the male laughed as he circled around him, like he was some hostel thing. He flicked his lowered hand up in a brushing motion. ”Go away Flea. I’m only talking the truth. You see Dove over in my land was smart…well for a female and she made the pack lands underground. Too bad your leaders both think and act like stupid females. “ the male rolled his eye as he waited on the male to step the side on one of his circling motions as he moved closer to the ashen female. With a smile as he stepped in closer to her she was stunning he would make her his mate, not quite an equal but she would have more freedoms. ”M’dear I never remember asking for any permission to begin with. Matter of a fact, both Bunny and Dot made it clear they don’t want me in the lands. However, as you see I just simply don’t care. Though… I might think about being nicer if you agree to lie down beside me for a few nights, maybe even groom my coat a bit. “ He laughed as he was sure it would make her more upset then telling her to give up on the pack lands.

Ty' fur began to stand on end as Lucifer continued to talk, every fiber in his being restraining Ty from giving the black wolf a piece of his mind. The black wolf made it clear he was not a visitor, but an intruder. He had not asked for permission to come here, and it was clear he was not here for benevolent purposes. Ty did not know who Lucifer was at the beginning of this conversation, but within the couple sentences that Lucifer said, he could judge Lucifer's character perfectly. He was an abusive, ignorant sort with a very basic view on gender differences, but that was the least of Ty's worries right now.

Lucifer's disgusting, squinting eyes were locked on the two females, specifically the wolfess Jace. His body motions and movement was like a horrid shadow, gliding across the ground with a malevolent aura, but it was truly the eyes that said what he truly felt. He couldn't tell what he wanted to do to her, but the shudder up Ty's spine said it was not a good thing.

However, it was when Lucifer gave an offer to Geneva that Ty decided to act again, although she could handle herself Ty was not one to just sit around while some lowlife moved in on his packmates, that was just not his style. He had killed wolves for lesser things than what Lucifer was doing right now, and there was no way he was just going to let Lucifer do what he wanted. Stopping his circling motion, he glided right between Lucifer and the other packmates again. However, he moved much closer to Lucifer, now only a few inches away from him, in an attempt to push him back. Ty curled his lips back to make a warning snarl, glaring into the beast's eyes to make his point perfectly clear, but he didn't do something stupid as make hollow threats. Lucifer would most likely not be intimidated, but Ty would protect his pack mates, that was all that mattered at the moment.

He knew how to take sides; he was a biased creature, and that was perhaps one of the traits that would bring about his downfall. The brute held an innate sense of good versus evil, learning to detect it in the eyes of the faintest stranger, the way they held themselves or the manner in which they spoke. He'd known Haku to be mad the first time they crossed paths, the first time his half-brother declared him to be Maluki. Jefferson and Gabriel had fought once, maintained a long-standing hate for each others' clans once, but never had the cyclops considered the Aquila to be a horrid man. There was genuinity in him. There wasn't, in Lucifer.

No, the cyclops had been forced to "mentor" him of sorts, once upon a time, when Iskata had still ruled the Valley and the gimp himself was mid-way through the ranks. He'd hated him then, he hated him now. He'd hated him when Noah had appeared, resembling his father and mother, two of the most detested creatures in Jefferson's mind; he hated him more when the gimp had grown closer to Noah, hearing of the things he'd witnessed and endured under his father's tyranny. And yet, Lucifer had still chosen to show his face, in the land Jefferson now ruled. Back then, the cyclops had only been an underling, punishable by any deeds he could do; but now, the cyclops ruled the land. He made the rules. He had no regrets.

And when the scent caught his nose, he started closer; when the sound of that voice reached his ears, his rage erupted, bursting at the seams as if not a day had past since the last time he and the black idiot had crossed paths. His hatred had doubled since then, in the wake of Noah's arrival and stories, and Jefferson burst forth, his eyes opened both, and even the milky-whiteness of his sightless gaze seemed to bleed a raging scarlet. A roar from the depths of his throat, but not a word with it. He swept past Ty in one fell swoop, ignorant and uncaring of those else gathered, and at Lucifer's throat the daggers of his scarred maw pointed, his single arm flourishing at the black man's eyes. No words.

Geneva did not like the way the black male seemed fixated on her new pack member. Although Jace Wolfe's personality differed greatly from the nature of the other wolfdog who had fallen under her care, the female still reminded Geneva of Bindu. The young girl had been severely injured and had wandered into Phoenix Valley, alone and confused. Her healing process had stretched on into weeks; despite the fact that Bindu Epals had eventually decided to depart, Geneva still harbored much affection for the wolfdog girl. And found that she felt surprisingly protective of Jace, a creature she hardly knew.

When Lucifer propositioned her, she could do nothing but up the wattage of her 'smile.' It was a predatory expression, a baring of stark, white sharp teeth, as brilliant and empty of meaning as a light bulb. Her voice had a hard edge to it as she addressed him with disdain. "An offer I wouldn't consider, even if you had the means of delivering." It was obvious to her that Lucifer did not care about her authority or distaste for him. His ego might be his weak spot, but the best way to communicate herself to him was obviously in primal language, through the use of brute force. It was clear that he did not respect the gentler gender, but he might respect bare brawn as it beat the insolence right out of him.

Before Geneva could ask for Ty to intervene, Jefferson appeared, obviously with savagery on his mind. She backed up cautiously, moving closer to stand with Jace and Ookami. She partially shielded Jace, using her slight body to stand by her side, but a bit in front of her, closer to both Lucifer and Jefferson. She trusted Ty to jump into the fray if he was needed, or to defend her if it came down to it. However, with Jefferson's murderous intent clear, she felt both a thrill of terror and a surge of faith in him. Despite his recent injury, she knew that he was still strong, perhaps the strongest creature she had ever encountered, at least in her eyes.

Jace continued to snarl at the black male. He was disgusting, absolutely fucking disgusting in every god damned sense of the word and in all its meaning. Jace was sure that every word that passed through his brain before releasing from his mouth was not screened and was in fact made worse by his morally deprived heart. Every word that he forced into the world made her fur stand up on end and her hackles raise. They made sense this time unlike her last unfortunate encounter with him but that only seemed to concrete her opinion that he was every bit the disturbing and horrible monster that she had assumed him to be from his drunken actions.

She hissed menacingly at him as he moved to stand somewhere near her and then his way was barred by the brave and honorable Ty. Jace looked at Geneva curiously as she backed up towards she and Ookami who had not said anything yet. She felt a swell of gratitude to the beautiful Alpha female in her attempts to seemingly protect her from Lucifer's gaze and line of attack. Jace was confident that should the male attack them that they would all together be more than a match for him. She did not fear him nor would she ever for he was a brute who was worthy of nothing more than the disdain that Geneva had shown him and the pity of those who were more civilized and courteous than he

Her bark of laughter was loud and mocking of Lucifer as Jefferson appeared as though from thin air and rushed the coal demon with a roar of anger. If Lucifer valued his life then he would run and fast, for she could see within the one green and one white eye of their fearless leader, the man's death.
