Claws managed to dig deep into the snow that covered the asphalt of the decaying road, creating light 'tic's despite the cushioning powder. The she-wolf was huge, always in her Secui form just for the sake of convenience as she stalked down the road. The cars here resembled those she had happened to catch glances of in her journey across Europe to hop a boat to the newer lands- the skeletal figures never failing to catch her attention. She paused as she came up to a car with no visible roof, letting her head easily rest on the edge of the door as she peered in. There was hardly anything visible underneath the huge amounts of snow that had accumulated over the past few months, only bits and pieces of a single skeleton managing to poke through. She huffed aloud, a large puff of white escaping her maw. "глупый человек. Вы приносите на вас непосредственно." she grumbled out, her native tongue rolling off of her tongue with ease. She had discovered the human's demise while traveling through Italy-it had been themselves and their need for bigger weapons. Deadlier weapons. In the end, the joke had been on them. Now, the animals flourished.

She gave a soft snort, again watching as a puff of white rose form her nostrils in an almost comical way, before she continued on her way. Nakita had no destination in mind. These were new lands to her, after all. They weren't as cold as her Russian home-land, but they were better than the place she had first come upon- with it's humid air and hot weather. Slowly, she started picking up her pace- muscles gliding easily under her thick fur and propelling the hulking beast forward into a gentle jog. The road had to lead somewhere, right? Anywhere was better than out in the open- but her tail was kept even with her spine, giving any others watching a good clue to her personality. She was not one to mess around with- as if the scars marring her ebony bodice weren't enough of a sign that this wolf was a fighter, and a good one at that. That's what happens though, when you're brought up learning nothing but how to kill and fight others in a pit- where there were no rules.

Her eyes and ears were ever alert, constantly swiping back and forth over both sides of the road and keeping watch of the thick woods that bordered either side. In the distance, she could see the outlines of what remained of a city. It had to be a good 10 or so more miles before she'd even be close enough to make out details, but she had time to spare. Not like she had a pack that needed her, though it would be highly unlikely for any pack to accept her. Her attacks were almost as spontaneous as a person with tourettes with their words or movements. Anything could trigger the instinct to fight for the female. Moving your paw a certain way, Looking at a certain area on her, or just your overall disposition could easily land you in a fight for your life. The urge to attack upon such occasions had been much worse before her 'trainer', Vlad, had found her after her escape. She could control it, but only to such an extent. What pack would like a loose canon running around their lands? A ticking time-bomb that would attack for virtually no reason? Well, a few vicious packs who intended on starting a war or needed someone to do a hit would probably look at her and think 'KA-CHING! WINNER, BABY!' but she was not interested in being used. She had been used once for entertainment in fighting others to the death, and she would not be used again.

She had been so preoccupied scanning for danger in front of her and beside her, that she nearly jumped out of her skin when a flash of something moved from the corner of her eye, somewhat behind her. She immediately whipped around- much faster than a wolf of her size should- and snarled as she went to sink her fangs into whatever was behind her. She froze, however, as she spotted the sunlight shimmering off of a car's bumper. She grinned at her own foolishness, letting out a deep and gravel-like laugh. "Nakita, Вы глупый старый волк. Не позволяйте этой Новой Земле взять верх над Вами, теперь." she grumbled out to herself, her face sinking back into her emotionless mask as she continued on, acting as if nothing had happened. That snarl of hers, though, worried her. It was very loud, and echoed easily off of the empty road and metal vehicles.

The shadows of the forest were nonexistent, thanks to the bright snow and cloudy day, leaving dark fur in plain view of any perceptive creature. Even the armor he wore, black gauntlets with gold etching, contrasted against the scene. Without their silvery bladed attachments, which were tied to his shoulder strap near the sheathed dagger by his hip, the thick metal shielding blended almost perfectly with Jaden’s fur. The only parts of him that slightly blended against the snowy background were his bandaged bicep and chest, but even those were beginning to become more of a dirty white. Feelings of being so exposed would have made the assassin apprehensive, but he was not hunting now, wolves or otherwise. No, he was headed to the city. There, he hoped to find more bandage for his wounds and maybe some other useful things similar to ventures he had taken on his trip from Alaska to ‘Souls. Being stealthy in a city was much more difficult than in the soft undergrowth of the forest. The hard streets and sidewalks were littered with treacherous holes or broken glass which were probably now hidden under a deceptively smooth lair of fallen snow as well. So Jaden had decided upon defense versus stealth. The moon blades were his most prized and effective close range weapons, so that is why their dark gauntlets rode on his arms. His bow and six freshly made arrows also lay in their quiver on his back, ready for any sudden action they might be strung into. He had almost fallen victim to a group of five poorly trained scavengers while traveling through a Canadian city in his lupus form. Such a group would be no match for the trained killer now, with his weapons poised, which is what Jaden counted on. If fighting was unnecessary, there was no need to dull his blades and break his arrows on unfit opponents. Today was about finding supplies, not creating a need for more.

Today was mostly gone though, Jaden realized with a grimace as he wandered along the side of highway 103. It was late afternoon and the light of day would begin to fade soon. The city seemed to be quite a ways away still. It’s daunting structures offering no incite to the dangers that could be housed within. If night fell and a storm started up, he could be forced to stay in the city over night. This had never happened before, and he frankly did not trust the human-made dwellings to offer any protection from the elements in their decrepit state, or even from other scavengers wondering about the concrete habitat. So, to help ensure himself that he would have ample time to search and vacate a small bit of the city, Jaden hurried himself along.

The woodland’s hidden dangers slowed down the Optime though. Twisted roots and fallen logs were almost as treacherous as broken glass and potholes in the snow. Jaden looked to his left where the crumbling highway pushed a strait line through all of the natural land around it. As a force of habit, the Alaskan had a little bit away from the road so as to not be seen by others traveling it. When wanders wanted to follow a road to the nearest city, ninety percent of them would walk strait down it. Jaden’s mind was so comfortable with the inaudible language of stealth, that he automatically avoided traveling in such an easily detectable way. What with the scratching his claws would make against the asphalt and all, he was practically announcing his presence to anyone close. But, for the sake of time and disregard of stealth, Jaden approached the highway’s edge. Along the raised crumbling and snow covered ground stood a guard. Its metal body ran a good length down the highway’s edge and was spotted with small yellow reflectors, which caught the sunlight. What such a thing would be useful for was a mystery to Jaden, but he felt it might have something to do with the dead husks of human machines that littered the highway’s length for as far as his eyes could see. Easily hurtling the guard, Jaden found it much easier to maneuver his now clicking claws along the asphalt. The only things he really had to worry about while he walked briskly along were the destroyed bodies of metal.

After a few while of weaving around the cars, Jaden’s worries suddenly became more numerous. The sound of a snarl echoed fiercely off the decrepit highway’s only other inhabitants. This snarl was intensely hostile and prickled the fur on Jaden’s back as he spun around. Who ever had just called out was ready to fight, so the Optime listened carefully for the sounds of a battle. When nothing resounded again, his heart began to speed. The sound had been close. Could it have been a warning to Jaden by some unseen hunter? Or a call to attack by a stalking group? Neither was the most comforting of thoughts. His bow found its way from its quiver to his claw as he watched the human rode that stretched behind him. The sound of clicking claws faded into existence. A large dark body was moving from into view and Jaden resisted the erg to draw an arrow. Though the snarl had been hostile, it did not mean there needed to be any fighting. He would not be the first to act hostile today.

not at all- thanks for joining ^^

The fae was on her way again, unknowingly having attracted the attention of another traveler. She knew soon enough though, as a figure became clear a good distance before her- his odd attire piquing her curiosity. She was, by no means though, afraid. The russian had seen and fought scarier things than an injured wolf- her scars were proof enough of that. As she drew closer, she continued to act unfazed; almost as if she didn't see him. She stopped though, a good 2 or 3 yards from the male, and looked him up and down- her eyes dull with no visible emotion. The tension of the unknown between the two was almost tangible, and suddenly, Nakita sighed. "You are in way. It is not wise to get in way." she spoke slowly to make her words understandable through her heavy accent, her voice soft as she waited for him to move, her face gaining a look of annoyance. She wasn't used to the idea of just happening across somebody in the newer lands. Back in her home country, if you happened across somebody, they usually were looking for trouble. The male had not fired at her though, and quite frankly, it was the only reason she hadn't attacked. Holding back her fighting instinct was something that was not easy to do, but she could hold it back long enough to find a reason to not become hostile. This wolf was wounded- and despite being confronted with a rather terrifying creature, he had not yet fired. She tilted her head a bit as she finally seemed to register that he really did have a weapon and it was not her just assuming things.

"Why you not shoot? In Russia, that could have been difference of life and death." she said, nodding her head as if reassuring herself that it was, indeed, that way in her home country. With a bit of hesitation, she came a bit closer, leaning her head forward as she sniffed at his scent. It was not that different from her own scent. He, too, was from a northern country. He was also very lucky. Nakita was not usually one for being pleasant- especially to another luperci. Whatever it was that had gotten into her skull, he better hope it stays.

The wolf who wandered into view was breathtakingly large. In its secui form, it stood at almost the same height as the broken metal skeletons strewn about the highway. Jaden glanced along the dark scarred fur as it sat a little ways away and looked at him up and down emotionlessly. The body seemed fierce and dangerous.

“You are in way. It is not wise to get in way.”

Her words were heavily layered in a feminine accent that, surprisingly, Jaden recognized. He quickly snapped out of his momentary stupor and realized he had been staring dumbly. “My apologies.” Jaden breathed as he prepared to step aside. A hesitant movement stopped his as she stepped a little closer and sampled the Optime’s scent. The air gave her scent to Jaden as well. Familiarity rang again from memories of Jaden’s freshly left behind life. Luperci who traded metals to his former pack had a similar accent and smell to them, under the salty odor which stained the foreign sailor’s coats. What they had called themselves, Jaden could not recall. He had never really interacted with them much. It had been the lower members of the packs who dealt with trading and learning other languages. When he had spoken with them, they had all had a cold mentality and personality. Whether that was because they knew of the atrocities Jaden had committed (his pack boasted of them) or because that simply was the way all sea crossing foreigners were, was questionable. There are so many foreign people in this land Jaden thought.

Why you not shoot? In Russia, that could have been difference of life and death.”

Russian! The name clicked like a perfectly placed puzzle piece in his mind. She was Russian. Jaden shouldered his bow. Even if the wolf decided she was going to attack, the weapon would be useless at this range, “I wouldn’t fire on a stranger.” No matter how intimidating,he added to himself. “That turns a stranger into an enemy, and I'd like to avoid making anymore enemies then I need too.” Jaden decided to step out of her way and leaned against one of the broken-down cars so she could pass if she chose not to stay. “Russia? That is quite a ways to come stranger,” He said pleasantly, “what brings you so far from home?”
