Her paws drew her towards what her nose had already identified as a pack. The scents grew stronger with each passing minute, and her ruddy eyes grew keen to any movements beyond her own slinky frame. The black hybrid was interested, but wary; lonely, but not stupid. She’d done some rather inconspicuous spying scouting for the past several days and had gleaned that most of the packs in this particular region were wolf or dog oriented. She was not fully the former and none of the latter, and past experience made her defensive to mingle with either. She was not particularly aware of the bred standard of the pack she approached now, but she figured that it was about time she started asking somebody.

The pitched skulls, serving as a visible border to trespassers, were more than a little foreboding—but Zombie wasn’t particularly bothered by them. They made her chuckle a little even, and the anthropomorphic quality to the created border allowed her to draw the conclusion that Luperci resided here. Taking a few moments aside, the shadowy vixen shifted, getting to her two feet soon thereafter and using her now-useful thumbs to pick up a large wolf’s skull that had been misplaced by a natural force or otherwise. As she waited, she quietly began to busy herself with balancing it on the staff from which it had fallen.

Her mind ached, the remnants of a hangover dancing around the edges of her brain. The spiral had started, sanity starting to flee with an earnest that left the maturing woman confused. What was she doing there? What was left in Inferni for her? A father who had moved from benign neglect to apathy. A brother who loved her, but who didn't need her. A world that was so far from what she deserved. Depressed as she was, Talitha was not ready to leave. It just meant she would spend more time away from the world she had once revered.

That morning took her mind back to Drifter's Bay, where Myron had urged her to return. She missed the strange coyote, but she couldn't go back. Instead, she'd pace across the border, healing ribs mending slowly and leaving her chest with the dull ache that was so common in recent day-to-day activity. What wasn't common was the new, and strange, smell that was brought to the Inferni princess on the breeze. Someone was lingering where they weren't wanted. It seemed to happen frequently. The russet de le Poer twin heaved a sigh, turning her path to follow the smell to the source; a black luperci with crimson eyes. Not uncommon to the hybrid woman, but not something she wanted to deal with. Still, it was a duty to her pack, and to her family.

Careful steps carried her to the border, where the stranger was carefully balancing a misplaced skull back on its post. "Thank you." It was all she could say. She had tried to keep the macabre ornaments where they belonged during the snowstorm, but that had gotten her trapped by a tree. She was starting to hate them. Her arms crossed beneath her visible ribs, the fragile appearance of the underweight female far from accurate in representation. "Do you need something from us." The question was dull, and there was no indication it was asked; rather, she forced a dead stop to the end of the words, indicating she demanded and answer.

She had watched the woman approach from the distant horizon, nondescriptly surveying her as she drew closer. Her coloration was certainly doggish, as she’d seen in the past, but Zombie wasn’t discriminatory. Perhaps a little judgmental, but she was wary of the fact that some dogs didn’t like coyotes—however, upon the female’s full arrival, the black hybrid realized that either her blood was muddied or she had been a runt of some sort, because she wasn’t much bigger than her, and her features were considerably more slender than a dog’s. Interesting.

She shrugged away the misplaced thanks, dropping her hands as soon as the dusty thing was settled. Her posture took much the same defensiveness as the one who had greeted her by crossing quietly beneath her breasts; and in her more or less sane mood, she wasn’t perturbed or snappish towards how she was “questioned”. It depends, she spoke thoughtfully; is this a good place to live? Because it was never wise to judge a book by its cover.

The stranger seemed unbothered by the approach and words of the princess, who took no hesitation in turning the weak minded away from her world. Her world. Her father's world. The coyote kingdom had outside infamy, considered a vile place full of some barbaric family. Talitha wouldn't deny the truth in that. She knew better than any what her family was capable of, and she expected the same abilities in the new coyotes who came to their borders. In silence, she studied the hybrid who stood before her. There was something more than just the fairy blood of the coyotes that Inferni welcomed, but that was true in many of their members. The Lykoi didn't judge on that basis alone.

Her questions were returned with questions. "Is this a good place to live?" The doggish hybrid let out a curt laugh. Inferni. A good place to live. "I suppose it is, for the correct sort of creatures," she murmured. It was wrong to tell the stranger what she really believed of the cursed land and the cursed creatures within it. A curse she herself understood, as did her brother. Talitha glanced over her shoulder, staring across the land. "But we don't just let people come to live. What do you offer my family." Her head turned back, crimson gaze examining the female critically.

The snort was a little disconcerting, but with a vague tilt of her head, Zombie got a small portion of the bigger picture. This pack was hostile, or something like that—asylum for the misfits and miscreants. The weak of mind and body wouldn’t find this place very fair. She wasn’t unused to such living standards. Nodding firmly, she lifted her head slightly as the female sought to question her; decidedly appropriate behavior towards a stranger. Of course you wouldn’t, she mused, her dark red eyes meeting the fiery crimson of the slightly younger female for a brief moment.

Smiling, more to herself than anything, I’m a jack of all trades, darling. I’ve lived long enough and traveled far enough to have dabbled in many things here and there. Zombie paused, baring her luminous teeth in a pleasant grin, though her mind was hardly in such a place. Is there anything in… particular your pack may need? It was clear her services were infinitely available, if this place was simply willing to house the shadowy wraith.

It seemed the stranger understood what the Lykoi was trying to convey. Her onyx head lifted at the questions posed, her she mused while gazing briefly into the Massacre red eyes of the younger woman. Talitha held no predisposed ideas about subordinates, instead more interested in the merit of a creature than the rank they might hold; after all, her own brother lay beneath her, but she felt him to be a better person. For the first time that day, the female offered a smile, albeit a small one. It didn't reach the hyper-expressive crimson eyes that sought information about the stranger.

Information is what she received. A jack of all trades, living long enough to know many things. She addressed the Inferni princess as 'darling', something the russet creature approved of, and asked what they might need. Talitha's head tilted to the side, in thought rather than to study. "Who are you." The coyote's question went unanswered as the Lykoi filed it into the back of her mind to ask Gabriel for evaluation instead. A name was what she wanted at that moment, something she expected to be answered promptly and with honesty. The Lykoi herself was a hypocrite, unwilling to give her name to those outside of family or trusted pack members, but she worked on a 'do as I teach' basis.

A smile, small in nature, came across the hybrid’s face, something that Zombie hadn’t entirely expected to see. The black ‘yote often smiled herself, yet it hardly ever held any substance or true emotion. So there was something distinctly familiar about her greeter’s cheerless grin. Instead of answering her question, the pack member asked another—not that she minded, given that it may not have been this female’s discretion about what this pack needed or didn’t. She didn’t seem very domineering.

Zombie, she answered solemnly, her bloodied eyes blinking slowly as she observed her in quiet. She got different things in response to her name, but none of them particularly fazed her. Those close to her called her “Bie”, the latter syllable of her first name, as she preferred, but it was only cordial on first meeting to not hand out nicknames. Zombie Feral, she added after a beat, in case it was important.

She didn’t return the question, assuming that she’d do it herself (or not, if she preferred), but she was curious to know: what is this place?

Zombie, a unique name for the unique onyx canine, was what the stranger presented. Zombie Feral. The russet princess tilted her head to the side, her ears swiveling to the sounds of the region. She didn't offer her own name; it was still to be seen if this female would be a friend or a foe, and the Lykoi was unwilling to risk her own safety in the process of initiation. Spindly fingers twisted auburn curls about as she studied the creature before her. It wasn't time to call for her father, not until she'd had her fill of interrogation.

"What is this place?" she asked, and Talitha's ears perked to the question. The smile fell into nothing, crimson eyes surveying Zombie Feral and the land behind her. "This is Inferni. You haven't heard?" It was surprising to the coyote Imperium; even Myron had caught wind of rumors about the violent clan, and he'd lived alone for five years. But she suspected that not all would, or could, know about the unwell kingdom that her feet were planted in. One arm outstretched behind her, the underweight creature turning to the side in order to allow passage. Her muzzle rose to the air, a series of sharp barks and howls let loose to call for the rugged Aquila or elderly Centurion.

"Would you like to come in?"

Fading here; I'll have this archived. Sie said it was fair to assume that Zombie meets Kaena and is officially accepted thereafter, so I don't think this needs to be continued ^^

Zombie was used to such lack of conversational return, but it didn’t bother her—particularly because she was much the same way herself. The only thing preventing this fact at that moment was because she was trying to get her way, and needed to be as cooperative as possible. It wasn’t difficult, she realized now. Yes, I’ve heard… she drawled at length, tilting her head so that her wild mess of black hair shifted slightly with the lean of her body. So this is the infamous Inferni. She looked around as if she were truly seeing the place for the first time. Of course she had heard things with her stealthily curious nature, but specifics were muddled and great details were never discovered. She only knew the basics, and from that alone, she knew she’d fit right in here.

I’d love to, she grinned darkly, black body sliding past her quiet greeter, and the two walked to what would be Zombie’s first joining in quite some time.
