A battle for Ykesha! Word Count: 414

A small growl was let out by Ty as trudged his way back to Phoenix Valley, his half-tail pointed at the floor. It had been a rough and taxing time for the wolf, his meeting with Pontiac regrettably going to shambles. The woman he had once loved, once pledged to try and spend a life with, had finally tossed him out of her life. She had dumped him for another man, and explained that he did not get another chance with her. However, it was not he that Ty was upset with, but himself. He had left her, abandoned their relationship in a panic, and ignored her when she needed him the most. Now Ty was once again alone, and he only had himself to really blame for the whole matter. At the end of it all, it was his own fault, and he could only wish he had not made the mistakes he did.

However, if Ty hadn't been so lost in his own mind wondering what could have happened if he had acted differently, his eyes would have seen the skulls of wolves that served as warnings. The scent of coyotes would have filled his lungs, and he would have realized he was in a place where he did not belong. However, his mind was too locked in on his own problems to notice that he was walking further and further into Inferni territory. With each step he welcomed danger without even knowing it, oblivious to the area around him for the time being.

However, he snapped back into reality when he was casually brushed by some twigs, the scratching of the wood on flesh bringing him back to his surroundings. Then it all came to him in an instant, the smell, the sights, the warnings, all flew through his mind as swift and hard-hitting as a club to the head. He was in a place he did not belong, nor was welcome in, his mind now racing with a bit of panic. Usually Ty would have avoided this place, but now he had made the naive mistake of crossing into the den of the coyotes. He quickly turned back the way he came, shifting his weight so his footsteps would no longer be so loud, creeping back to the borders of this place. He could only hope that nobody heard him come in, or was attracted by his footsteps, and he could make it out of the territory without much trouble.

Yay! ^_^ Thank you! Word count 452 - 3 points

Had Ykesha been a deaf woman, she still would have lifted her face from her complacent pastime at the slight disturbance which wafted over Inferni. Were she blind, her mind still would have come alive in alert at the presence of an outsider. If Ykesha could not hear she still would have risen from her sitting position, hands balled at her sides into small white fists. The coyote needed no sense but that which befell her mouth to distinguish the animal which didn’t belong amongst her kin; Ykesha tasted the breeding of a wolf and in response her mind rolled like a lion in its sleep. First there was discomfort - what had woken her? - then there was aggression - unforgivable. The brindled fae paused at the base of the tree where she had been sitting, clutching the broken gun which had become so precious of late to her breast. The air tasted different. Like iron. Dangerous and foreign. Ykesha felt as though the presence of this invasive beast was a dagger slipped into the ribs of Inferni, yet Inferni bore no arms to remove a blade once placed there. With quiet resolve the woman stood and began to walk towards the boarders. Her thoughts were level, but unpleasant. She couldn’t shake the image of a knife driven deep into her lands, spoiled viscous and disease oozing from the wound it had created. No outsider would cause her lands to fester with an untreated injury. None would see Inferni’s blood. The luperci’s jaw tightened as she advanced among the skulls, her pupiless eyes focused unblinkingly on the distant golden pelt of a wolf.

Her hackles rose.

The woman’s brindled body seemed to bristle and sprout like mushroom which grow through the decay of leaves on a forest floor. It was unattractive; this thick and unnerved look did not suit the mistress. She cared not, however. This wolf - no - this fiend’s feet were touching Gabriel’s soil. His breath was rotting Kaena’s wilderness. His very presence was an insult to Halo and Hybrid, and Ykesha would not stand for it. As her jaw further tightened and her eyes became slits amongst a face highly wrinkled in fury, the fae let loose her voice from blistering lungs. The sound carried on wings of anger toward the distant wolf.

“Beast!” She haulted, her breath falling heavy with rage. “Monster, clear yourself from these lands or I shall remove you!” Her words, though backed by bravery, were hollow. The girl was small. She showed no prowess in combat. But her eyes held level, gazing at the man with unforgivable disapproval.

Sinful.

Her fingers tightened around the useless pistol in her palm.

You will pay.

Before Ty even made one step out of the territory, the piercing cry of a coyote caused Ty to halt in his tracks. He could only curse under his breath as the coyote moved to block him from his path, his only way to avoid trouble from the coyote's wrath, but it was far too late for that. One coyote, a female, now stood in clear view, her fur standing on end and a wicked snarl on her lips when she spoke, it was clear this would be a coyote who he would have trouble reasoning with. She addressed him as beast, a name which probably suited him better than she thought, telling him to leave the land of inferni before she would have to remove him from the premises. Ty's head actually rose and his ears perked up with the surprise that she was even giving him a warning. For all the warnings Ty had been told, Inferni was usually a 'strike first, distribute warnings later' sort of pack, and yet he was getting a warning? Needless to say, he was shocked.

However, it was clear to Ty that the woman was not as threatening as she hoped to be. Being a Coyote made it hard enough with the size difference problem, but also she was rather small, and no scars on her body indicated little to no combat experience. He would have suspected she was blind judging by the lack of irises, if they had not remained locked on his form when he turned to face her. This coyote was green, and for all intents and purposes Ty could guess he could probably run right through her. Of course his eyes were drawn to the gun, which was not pointed at him but could easily be a threat, he had no idea if it was just intimidation or actually loaded, and he didn't really want to take that chance.

Trying to remain diplomatic, Ty's half-tail dropped down and he raised his arms in a non hostile manner. "Easy there lady." He said with a growl in his voice, still trying to remain solid to keep her from practically walking over him. "I ain't here to start anything, I was lost in thought and now I accidentally ended up here...just lower the gun and let me go, and I'll be on my way. No harm no foul, got it?"

If it isn‘t clear by the post she just lopped the broken gun at him lolz. ^_^; Word count 388 - 3 points

The woman’s brindled arm shook slightly, half from fear, and half from rage. Her fingers, still wrapped firmly around the pistol’s handle, vibrated like a rattlesnake’s tail. Were her jaw not so tightly clenched, it too would have clattered. Yet the coyote’s resolve was clear and her expression remained one of steel. How dare he? Her eyes narrowed as her face tightened in further hostility. How dare this creature?! The female’s mouth peeled wide in a snarl, saliva dripping from her jaws in a primal manner. Her chest heaved with the effort to contain her rage and the woman’s labored breathing growled as the sickness within her lungs churned. She sounded ill. She sounded furious.

She was both.

Ykesha’s eyes climbed up the strangers body, taking his features in with hostility. The hate in her eyes glowed and were they capable of punishment each would have dealt his golden hide 50 lashes for his transgressions. No one would disrespect Inferni while she drew breath, least of all a wolf. The snarl raping Ykesha’s face widened, elongated teeth flashing against the steel of the broken gun.

“Coward!” she called to him. “You think you can appear on Inferni’s doorstep and simply slink back to your poisoned lands without consequence?” The woman’s shoulders seemed to bristle with unnerve. Her hackles had completely flowered, reaching in different direction like a hedgehog poised in defense. “No, fiend.” Her eyes narrowed, bulging with aggression so that she appeared both deformed and vicious. When the aggressive mouth opened again her words fell heavy and toxic like dung from the back end of a cow. “There will be no exception for you.”

With this, the hybrid readied her stance, showering her weight equal between both feet. Her slim arm drew back, the pistol grinning as she made to throw it. The girl’s ribs twisted, her legs pushed fourth, and one brindled arm slung forward, gun in tow. The weapon split through the air, singing as metal peeled apart the currents of the wind towards the wolf opposite Ykesha. She bristled, body bending in anticipation as the useless projectile hurtled towards the golden male. Ykesha would punish him with or without a functioning pistol. She needed no Bullet of Man to tear into the bowels of this quarry. This she would do with her own fingers.

Hah, best opening move ever XD WC:445

By the time she had brought the gun back to toss it, Ty already guessed that it wasn't a loaded or even functional weapon. However, Ty was not ready for her to throw it directly at him, the rusty weapon flew towards him leaving him with less than a second to react. He attempted to get out of the way, but the metal weapon smashed against one of the arms that he was using to try and protect his face. Of course, while the useless weapon had no lethal force to it, it was still a heavy object that made quite a mark on his arm. The rusty metal scraped against his arm, causing small cuts as it slid across his arm to the ground. Ty's lips curled into a snarl as he felt warm blood begin to dampen his fur. He brought his arms to give the wound a look, and he was relieved to see it wasn't too bad. A small bruise, some light cuts, wouldn't impede him too bad.

However, the thrown weapon meant they were on even ground now, both unarmed, both left with nothing but their claws and their teeth to tear each other apart. Ty had tried to be peaceful, he had tried to diplomatically stop the situation, but it was obvious the white female was beyond reason. She was not here to chase him away, nor was she here to escort him off the territory premises, she was here to punish him for his trespass onto the land of the coyotes. However, Ty was done talking, he had a rough day, he had lost the girl he once loved, and now he was stuck in a territory with a woman bent on killing him, there was nothing to restrain him from kicking this coyote's teeth in.

Cracking his knuckles, his once peaceful glance morphed into a focused glare, boring holes into the coyote as he lowered into a well-trained and practiced fighting stance. It was obvious the unlike the coyote, Ty was not so green when it came to combat, though the scars could have told her that. "Alright bitch, you want a fucking fight so bad?" He said loudly with a fed up growl, pointing at her with an unblinking gaze from his gold and blue eyes. "Fine! I'll take you down a peg or two!"

With that declaration of war against the coyote, Ty pushed his body forward with his muscled legs, almost gliding towards Ykesha with claws drawn and ready to tear into flesh. Nearing her body, Ty let loose a sort of one-two combo of slashes with his claws, one aiming to rake into her right thigh, while another slicing up towards her chest.

The coyote felt mildly victorious at the sight of the flying gun. The metal case had slapped the wolf’s arm, the sound making the young woman’s ears flick up in a self-congratulatory stance. Her mouth peeled open, the lightest laugh falling from youthful lips. The fae couldn’t recall ever drawing blood from another; her heart felt alive and exalted. In her ignorance and inexperience, Ykesha was unaware that the light scrape across the man’s arm would do little to impede him. She hadn’t wounded him, she had clearly just pissed him off. The girl’s ears, only moments ago displaying pride, immediately flicked back in worry.

Oh shit…

The wolf’s charge caught the white woman unprepared. Her body, standing high in pride, was completely off balance. As the golden luperci fled towards her Ykesha replied with the only reaction she could think of. Her left leg shot back. She cowered. Her thin arms raised to protect her face. And then the girl’s entire world was covered in pain.

The immediate blow unsettled Ykesha to a degree she wasn’t aware was attainable. She felt something horrible pierce her chest and rake along the length of her sternum. A scream lashed out in response - high and unnatural - although the coyote was so blistered by the experience she did not recognize the sound as that of her own voice. Blood exploded from the wound, spraying the man’s hand wet with Inferni life and dying the front of the virgin-hued lass a sinister red. Ykesha blinked, her mouth hanging open in horror and disbelief. What had happened? She began to shake as she looked down. Her breasts were dripping in gore. Her legs displayed trails of crimson that flowed their entire length like monstrous rivers amongst a winter landscape. The woman’s face looked up from her damaged body, shock nearly knocking her off her feet. The golden male was still near her and one hand was laden in the same red that covered Ykesha. Her face morphed into a horrible expression: half fearful, half furious.

“What?…” What happened?!

The girl staggered back, both arms immediately clasping the wound as though to hold her life within her, willing it to stop spilling out. She attempted to collect herself as her unfocused eyes searched for the threat.

He’s still out there.

Her mind rolled and twisted, stumbling over itself to find her opponent. So delirious was the woman that she couldn’t see the man not three feet from her.

He’s going to kill me!

The girl’s mouth fell open, a whine emitting as her bright eyes stared at the ground, focusing on it as though it would be torn from beneath her feet. I have to escape- She attempted to straighten, the ripped flesh grinding together so that her face wrinkled in agony and a whimper fell from her mouth. I have to-

And in an instance, the coyote froze. She could feel her heart working; blood oozed between her fingers with every passive beat. In that rhythm the woman paused, her mind falling still as though shocked into paralysis by an electric current. She needed to run? Where? Inferni had no use for the weak. Gabriel would not harbor her. Kaena would not shelter her. Halo’s face would simply twist into disgust. The young woman’s face trembled, the pain receding into the back of her mind as anxiety took its place. She could not defeat this monster. But she could not flee either. Her fingers tightened around the laceration as her mind was made up.

Ykesha, nearly overcome with the impact of her wound, sank to her knees and began to shift. When the seconds necessary had passed, a blistering secui stood where the optime beauty had once been. Before her bravery fled, Ykesha leaned back on her haunches, lips pulled taunt to reveal the length of her teeth. Muscles tensed, flesh bent and buckled. And the fae launched herself at the wolf, his form now clearly in her sight. As her brindled body flew toward him, her jaws split apart, aiming to engulf the bulb of the warrior’s shoulder. The woman was still saturated in her own blood, but resolve rested on her face.

By my own blood, I swear this: Ykesha’s voice snarled in her head. Either my body or yours will litter Inferni’s floor.

I'm so sorry this is so late! WC: 411

Ty's eyes actually popped open in shock as he felt her warm blood spill all over his hand, his claws piercing through her gentles skin, he had not expected his first strike to make any contact. However, the fact it made contact was a good sign for Ty, she had stiffened up instead of moved away, proof that he was fighting someone who was rather inexperienced. However, this did not mean Ty dropped his guard even for an instant. He watched with an unblinking resolve as the woman reeled back clutching at the flowing wound, as if to stop her very soul from leaving her body.

However, Ty was surprised when the woman wanted to keep fighting, despite the goo dripping out of her chest. Her body morphed and shifted into the war-form of the secui in front of him, even her delicate form shaping into a violent, destuctive monster that the secui had to offer. This coyote still wanted to fight, and Ty admitted that although she was awfully hateful of wolves, this female had spirit. But the trained wolf was ready for the oncoming onslaught of a dive the coyote sprang on him, diving at him like the vicious bloodthirsty beast she had now become. Her claws and teeth screamed for blood, but for Ty they would not get a taste, not this time.

His body gave way to the secui's charge, but his hands caught the drooling maw of Ykesha. This was no pathetic submission for Ty, for he was a rather resourceful wolf, this was a change of momentum. As Ty fell to the ground from the weight of the charge, he propped his feet into the coyote's stomach, vaulting her off of him as he rolled backwards.

Without a second of hesitation, Ty rolled back onto his feet, shifting into his own secui form as he did. To Ty a prolonged fight with a secui in optime form was managable, but it would be too troublesome for Ty, he realized he needed to end this quickly, before more coyotes show up to tear at his flesh. Now on even ground with the coyote, the half-tailed ruffian launched himself at Ykesha with a terrifying ferocity of his own, tackling her to the ground with his massive frame. As he tackled, his jaws came down upon her leg, hoping that he could at least momentarily take out a limb so he could gain even more of an advantage.
