A little bit of family love

Ayita sat in her home books scattered across the floor she had to start cleaning but she just didn't want to. She was glad that her home was full of life and all she could think about were her grand children that would becoming. Standing she smiled picking up the books. Her shelves need to be reorganized and she hlad to start getting dinner. She had fallen into the human way of life though she still went out to catch her food not buying it in a store. She smiled thinking about that.

she smiled now that all the books were off the floor. She looked at what space they had maybe sometime they would have to get a bigger house. Reaching for a blanket she smiled, soon her family would be expanding and it seemed as though Harmony was happy here and Liam had a friend when Noah was off with there dad. She hoped that Liam would still like to read and write. She knew he was close to his brother and he was always happy to have company and Harmony was a bit younger then the boys but she fit right in.

Folding the blankets she placed them to the couch and sat down once more. She wondered what everyone was up to today. She wondered how Amaranth was doing? She needed to start getting things ready. She would have to make sure she was ready because Amaranth would need her and she promised to be there for her.

Today was a fun so far Liam thought. Harmony was such fun. They played hide and seek, chased butterflies and played tag. He was determined to take her on an adventure after dinner. He couldn't wait. The sooner dinner was done the sooner he could play more. He paced around and decided to read a book as he loved to do. The books were perfect. Row after row was aligned strait and precise. Would he read a scary book? No he didn't like them very much and wasn't in the mood to get frightened. Would he read a picture book? No he was in the mood for something harder even though he loved the vibrant and colorful pictures that were inside and some even popped up!

He scanned the shelfs for something he didn't read yet. In the bottom corner was an old dusty leather book. He gripped it and pulled out hard. It seemed like it was melted into the shelf. Had no one read this book yet? He never noticed it before. Once he got it out he blow the dust off and wiped the leather off with his paw to read the writing. The book read 'The Call of the Wild'. He looked at it intently. Yes he would read this book.

Ayitaa smiled watching her son come in to join her. "Welcome home where have you been?" she asked as she continued to clean. She was happy to see him getting back to his studies he was really the only one who did. though she had yet to take the time to ask Harmony if she would like to learn.

Watching him pull out a book she smiled. She was so happy to see the way he was. He would be a fine young man one day. One who was smart brave and caring. She hoped she hoped that of all her children.

"Oh Liam thats a wonderful book." She said smiling. "You always pick good books I havent read that one in so long. can't you tell." Most of these were brought from home Zafier brought her some that he had collected in travels here. And of course books could be found here and she could find some here and there and added to the collection.

Liam looked up at his mother and smiled. He opened the cover. The leather was hard and dirty but he managed to open it. He looked at the words in wonder. They were aligned row but row, perfect. If he looked at any book to long at the rows and rows of black letters he got intimidated and wouldn't think he would be able to read it. He read at a steady pace but every once and a while he had to stop to look at a new word and he had to figure out what it was. He always thought reading was magical. Books took you to another world. This book amazed him. It was about a canine like him. He had never read a book with the view point of a canine. All the books he usually read were about humans but this new view point connected with him and sparked him to read more and more.
He had read many pages and it had been a long time. Currently the character Buck a mutt had been beaten by humans. Those horrible creature Liam thought but how could they have been so horrible when they had made such beautiful things like paintings, music and most importantly books. He had learned of them before but had never heard of such mean sides of them. As he read on Buck became friends with a human. A canine being friends to a human, he had never hear this before. The human in the book acted as if he owned Buck and Buck acted as though he loved this human like a brother. How could buck like any human after the experiences he went through. " Humans used to be friends with canines?" he asked and gazed up to his mother. His mother had any answer to anything. Whenever he needed help be it anything she was there. She was sure to know the answer of this question too.

Ayita was happy to see her son reading. He had a good vocabulary but it was grand. She feared he would run into words he didn't know. Ayita looked at him as she finished picking up the room.

Stepping over him to lean down she smiled. "Yes dear they were.' Ayita said as she sat on the couch and smiled. "My family has a long history with humans. After many of my clan moved to canada and learned french." She said. "My great great long great parents were wolves that lived close and among native americans.' She said.

She smiled. "I could tell you many stories about humans if you wanted.' She said leaning back. she was happy sitting here relaxing.
