For Jace! WC: 321

A deer, Ty hadn't seen any of these beautiful creatures since the beginning of winter, now one had finally shown it's face around Phoenix Valley. However, Ty was intending for this one to never leave the territory, as it would be a great meal for the pack. His footsteps carried no audible sound as he stalked the deer, his body finally becoming camouflaged with the dead underbrush that remained after a typical winter. A small sneer crossed Ty's face as he watched the innocent creature lift its head, the beast's ears twitching and turning to try and locate any danger, its eyes scanning the dark forests for anything dangerous. The poor thing was trying to keep safe, but there was no sanctuary on wolf territory, and when a wolf like Ty locked you in his sights, you were already dead.

However, Ty played the stalking out as he neared the exit of his cover, his golden-blue eyes scanning the beast's coat. This was not the healthiest deer, it was obvious she had very little to eat and had been losing pounds over the months of winter, but right now anything was better than catching another damn rabbit.

With a twitch of his muscles, Ty suddenly launched himself forward from his hiding spot, tearing across the field at the deer. Of course, like any paranoid creature the deer saw this coming, bolting away at the mere sight of Ty. Of course, with its hungry and weakened frame it wasn't going to get far, and Ty was hot on his heels. However, even though Ty knew he could get this particular deer on his own, he had remembered seeing Jace in the area, who had probably seen this same deer and was in the underbrush as well. Figuring this was a good way to bond with a fellow packmate, Ty barked loudly as he chased the deer, hoping that would get Jace's attention.

sorry for delay

The patch work hybrid femme was taking another walk, she was searching for somewhere to sit and relax or for something do that would ease the slowly growing fear within her. She had the sense that today something would happen, her damn partial clairvoyance flaring up again. If it was anything the wolf dog female wished she hadn't inherited from her mother it was that, bloody thing was always giving half assed warnings that only served to freak her out and increase her worry rather than calm her, the multi colored woman shook her head and continued on her journey through the forest.

She stumbled upon a weakened looking deer browsing in the undergrowth and stopped for a second, wondering if she dared attempt to tackle it, Jace looked down upon her belly and decided it was too dangerous to go after the deer alone even if it was weak and hungry. She carried on her walking until the deer suddenly crashed away through the vegetation, and Jace looked around to see if she could see what had scared it although she was unable to see much through the trees and bushes, the Secui places her paws on a tree trunk and tries to raise her head up higher and then heard a bark that she recognised calling her the join in the hunt.

The youngish female loped steadily and with haste towards the male voice, she could not go as fast as she usually would but it was enough to catch up some, she woofed back in greeting to him, her woof very doggish and low pitch in sound, nodding her head as well to the male who she used to rank with but now stood above although she would never consider being so rude as to assert her higher ranking status over him. She ra with her friend as they chased after the deer that would be their next meal

As Ty chased the weakened deer, he could see out of the corner of his eye that he was no longer the only one to do so. He now could see a greyish wolf at his side, and although he didn't remember the woman's name as well as he had hoped, he knew she was a higher rank than he was. He barked back to her, acknowledging her help as they both pressed on in pursuit of the slowing mammal in front of them.

Now that there was another wolf chasing the deer, Ty knew there was only one way this chase could possibly end. When it was just himself, the deer could have possibly avoided or resisted his own assault, but with two wolves this deer had no other option but to become their next meal.

With this knowledge pushing Ty, he suddenly sped up his pursuit in a burst of adrenaline. The war-wolf pushed his muscles to their limit as he attempted to match the speed of the deer, getting into striking distance of the animal. As soon as he got close, Ty gave his body an extra push and launched himself at the deer. His jaws locked around the doe's leg, and with the herculean strength the secui form gave him, he stopped the deer's escape simply by planting his feet. The taste of deer blood now splashed onto his tongue as the doe attempted to escape his grip, but to no avail. The raw strength and power of Ty would keep the doe there until Jace dealt the final blow on it, hopefully granting them both a well-needed meal.

She grinned cheekily at him and hung back a little as the man warrior known as Ty sped up towards the running deer. Jace herself also spend up but not as much as the scarred male did, she could feel her strength wavering now for the lives growing inside her rapidly expanding stomach drained so much of it and redirected the needed nutrients to themselves, with she as the vector to their survival, they relied on her to provide sustenance like this next meal that they were about to acquire thanks to the help of Ty. As he clenched sharp teeth onto the deers leg and stopped it with his strength Jace found herself now having to rapidly slow down instead of keep up.

The deer attempted to escape feebly from the grasp and the smell of fresh blood filled the air. Jace launched herself towards the side of the neck that was protected by Ty holding down the doe's leg. The last thing she needed was a kick to the stomach that would be fatal to their little ones. She herself had lost an unborn smaller brother that way, taken from life before he had even begun it by a mistimed leap and a headbutt to the stomach. The mongrel wolfess bared her teeth at the animal and locked her jaws around its throat, cutting off its air supply and crushing its arterial veins that ran alongside them.

The female deer gave up struggling quickly as the suffocation drained her energy within fast minutes and before long died in complete silence, falling to its knees and then onto its side as the life it had worked to hard to keep going failed it. She watched the alive spark dim and then disappear all together from the doe's gentle brown eye and whispered a small thank you to the deer's spirit for allowing itself to be caught and giving its body to keep them alive.

As soon as the deer's body fell limp and motionless from the crushing of her windpipe Ty released his grip from her leg, though now his ribs were slightly sore from the struggling of the doe as it had kicked him in the side a few times in an attempt to get away. He slowly crept from his position and rose to his full secui height as he really got a good look at the kill the two wolves had made. She wasn't the biggest doe he had killed, nor was she that meaty, but it was enough for a few days at least for him alone to last with. However, this was not about him, Jace had made the kill and she was of higher rank then he was, so it was her that got to eat first. Instead of gorging himself immediately Ty remained on alert, the smell of blood could always attract unwanted attention, so Ty would play silent bodyguard until Jace got her fill.

Why he remained silent was simple, Ty had never talked to Jace one-on-one before, the only time he had ever really seen her was one time when visiting Angel, and twice while having to deal with Lucifer's handiwork. Ty had never socially talked to Jace to initiate any sort of conversation with her now. They were in different cliques of the pack, or more specifically, Jace talked and interacted with most of the wolves, while Ty talked to no one. Ty had become the ghost, the silent guardian of Phoenix Valley since his return. He had not integrated into the pack as easily as the first time he returned, nor had he really tried to do so, instead being aloof and evasive when around wolves. Perhaps that was because of the experiences he had when he left, causing his attitude with other wolves to change drastically. Either way, he wasn't exactly as easy to open conversation with now.

Still, Ty wanted to eat as some point and wasn't exactly going to leave the Praeas by herself, so he remained watching over Jace as she ate. His movements while Jace ate were methodical and practiced as he created a perimeter around the deer carcass, his ears twitching to and fro, along with his eyes darting about to keep scavengers away from their fresh kill.

Jace let go of the carcass and allowed herself to pant, the chase had taken more out of her than it usually did thanks to the wrigglers squirming around inside of her womb, and they were wrigglers, moving around constantly and stopping her from sleeping in the night. She would be glad when they were developed enough to join her in the outside world and then they would be disturbing her sleep with yelps and yips. She watched as the Fuehrer slunk away from the freshly killed deer carcass, obviously giving her space to eat first as a higher ranking member. Jace didn't really see is as necessary as there were only two of them and the whole deer instead of a huge pack all surrounding the doe.

The female shook off her thoughts and tore into the deer's carcass, pulling off chunks of meat and chewing them up before swallowing. Her stomach growled its happiness as it was filled because she hadn't eaten in a while. As the woman ate her fill she kept her eyes wary looking out for someone who would steal their food the same as Ty was doing, two sets of eyes were better than one as two sets of teeth were better than one. Eventually Jace sighed and she could eat no more, feeling more full than she had for a while the Praeas pulled off a sizable chunk of meat from the carcass for Temo and sat back motioning with her head to Ty that he could eat.

Jace took Ty's place as guard and sentry, glaring at some crows that dared to get too close, the black birds cawed to each other and Jace moved around to growl at them so they flew into the trees before returning back to the chunk she had saved for Temo. Her eyes swept over the scarred warrior and she realised she didn't really know much about the orange male which genuinely saddened her. She waited until he was finished before attempting to strike up a conversation with him,

"So Ty, i'm curious. Where do you come from?"

yikes, short post, sorry about that. WC: 273

When given the option, Ty almost bolted for whatever was left of the deer carcass once Jace was done with it, tearing at it like the starved dog he was. He had been run ragged, through fights he had not mentioned to the pack and hunts that had not delivered any meat to his above average frame. He tore off large chunks of the beast, barely bothering to chew his food before it slid down his gullet. He had almost forgotten what deer tasted like, clearly it had been far too long.

However, the silence of Ty's blissful meal was interrupted by Jace's sudden interest in talking to the half-tailed brute. His body suddenly paused in the chow down as his golden-blue eyes darted towards Jace. She wanted to speak with him now, he was surprised. His gruff exterior and brutish demeanor tended to make people keep away from him. Only those who knew him from before his transformation really talked to him anymore, but now Jace was curious about him and his story.

but just because nobody usually talked to Ty did not mean he was not interested in sharing, he simply kept to himself because very few people asked about him. His original stoic expression morphed into a casual smile, realizing that he and Jace were no longer on airs, and he sat up to address Jace's questions.

"Why, I came from this here Valley, ma'am." Ty stated bluntly, pointing to the ground below his feet. "I was here until I learned how to walk, then I was swept off to Europe before I could even figure out how to hunt."

He was from the Valley he said and then he had gone across the sea to Europe. She had heard that in the western worlds that the Luperci population more closely imitated what they had inherited from the humans. Wearing clothes was the norm not the exception and many of them regarded their lupus and secui forms as beastly vestiges from their past that were no longer needed. Many of them cooked their food all the time rather than hunt and eat it raw like the two of them had just done. Jace found it very strange that so many of them would choose to emulate a species that had brought about its own destruction but she supposed each to their own.

She had a sense that Ty was a loner even while he belonged to the Valley, the selfless warrior faithfully patrolling the borders while the rest of them slept, keeping them all safe from harm and trying to stop monsters like Lucifer from entering. He was doing what was effectively supposed to be her own job, although she was unfit to do it at this time, with the pups growing rapidly.

"Technically I come from the Arctic, but when the humans were still alive they carried the ancestors of my birth pack across the ocean from England in great flying machines that could go very very fast and placed them in the Arctic so they could breed and grow without the interference of man. I think the humans wanted to see how they would behave after spending so long under their care, although the humans took them from the arctic in the first place for some reason." She shrugged her shoulders and cocked an ear, she didn't presume to understand the strangeness of man and his workings although they did fascinate her.
