Anathema Fill The Forum Contest Thread. Set April 1st, late morning.

Spring was beginning to get properly under way, although today was a cloudy start. The sunrise had been quite early but the clouds had begun to roll their way over the Halycon Mountains towards the eastern tips of Nova Scotia. This all added up to it not being a very nice day at all. Though there was no rain yet to mar the serenity of the lands, the ground was beginning to grow wet and soggy but Teddy was sure the fences he and Liev had put up were going to hold. The horses and various herds of sheep, the few goats Liev had collected were all turned out now, grazing and moving around in the large hidden pasture Liev had found to keep them. Anathema was looking more prosperous than it ever had- there was life on the hillsides instead of the main bulk of animals living within the caves. One including the Rakeeb warrior, Theodore Stone.

Currently sat within the common room of Anathema, the bulky man was thinking about ways of interacting with his pack mates. He had been socialised to be unsociable, his father alienating his brother and him to stay away from everyone except each other. It just wasnt in him to natrually seek out company. And that was something that he really should change. He needed a closer bond with the pack members under him, not just one of dislike or hatred. It wouldnt get him anywhere and he was just cutting himself off. He needed to be approachable so that if any of the members of Anathema had a problem, they could come to him and not Naniko. Well, they could go to Naniko as well but Teddy was available for little tidbits of advice sometimes.

He'd recently heard that the previously-known puppy Itachi had taken up the warrior tier. Teddy was interested to see what the boy could do and perhaps give him a little tutilage himself. Despite being an aggressive and egotystical maniac sometimes, there was no doubt in anyones mind that Teddy was a great warrior. It was what every bone in his body was trained to do and his ascention to Rakeeb had not changed that. Though he would no longer be in charge of the warriors of Anathema, he could at least try and help them out. Still, Itachi was nowhere to be seen so the dark man remained in the common room, checking the torches to see that they burned bright and for once hoping that someone would come and disturb him.

Packs were a boring waste of time. That was Giuseppe's general opinion today as his mind spun around and around on the same central thought thanks to his boredom. The last time he had found himself laying on this bed staring at the ceiling, grumbling from sheer silence, luck had fond him in the body of a rather handsome young male. The thought of what had occurred caused his tongue to run across this bottom lip in yearning. Perhaps he would find the same luck today? If there was anything half decent about this dirt covered home it was the simple fact that there was always someone to day dream sexual thoughts about.

Tossing two legs over the edge of the short wooden bed frame the dutch shepherd mix looked to the door he had shoved in front of the hole leading from the hall to his bedroom. The door certainly was good for privacy but not so convenient when you had to pick it up to move it. Sighing lazily Giuseppe made his way to the door, shifted it to the side, and began to walk. There was no clear destination in his mind but he knew he had to get out of his small room. IT was times like these that he wished he could return to his lavish houses in Italy.

Entering the common room a sense of displeasure over came the dark canine's mind. There before him was the ebony wolf he knew was second in command. The last thing he wanted to do was spend his free time chatting it up with some big shot wolf. Avoiding eye contact he casually started walking toward the exit. He was going to get him some tail if it was the last thing he did. Just a few short steps and he would be free to roam in the spring air and find some gorgeous looking animal desperate for that 'special touch'

haha, funfun

In his hunt to become a more approachable and sociable leader, Teddy would not have expected people to avoid him. Although the man almost never had the inclination to talk to anyone- he never really got a craving of company when he was alone, he knew he had to up his social interactions with his pack. He couldnt just remain in his room forever and expect respect from his pack. It didnt work like that he knew. So his attempt at looking in the common room for some poor unsuspecting victim to lay his poor social skills on. The moving shadow in the Teddy immediately identified the man as Guiseppe. The man had been with them on the animal collection in the snowstorm and the warrior wasnt too sure what to think about him.

While he had been good in the snowstorm in collecting animals and bringing them home, Teddy had the distinct feeling he was going to eat them all. Of course, they would be eating quite a lot of the livestock they had caught, but that wouldnt be until they'd built up enough stocks to do so. Teddy was interested in the shepherding word Liev was doing and kind of wished he could help the grey man out more. Still, there was something very raw about Guiseppe's energy that confused Teddy. Add the fact that he never saw the brother out aywhere without Guiseppe and the black male was lost. Still, this was a chance. Before the man had made it out in the fresh, air, Teddy gave a quick bark.

"Guiseppe... Come here."

It was definitely a command and Teddy wasnt sure it would work. It should do, since he was the second in command and a mostly respected member of the pack. But he wasnt sure so he stood anyway and moved towards the dog luperci.

Trying to be as quiet as possible the brown hued hybrid could almost taste freedom from yet another encounter but then he heard the command. His skin crawled at the thought. Never before had anyone told him what to do besides his parents and look where that got him. He nearly ignored the male but he knew better if he was going to get by in this damn pack. Stopping in his tracks the conniving coydog slowly turned around and walked towards the large black wolf.

He didn't look like the type of canine that Giuseppe would want to fight, or anyone for that matter. There was a certain dark and commanding appearance to the wolf that Giuseppe knew to avoid whenever possible. Being a male who often got himself into tight situations it was good to have the skill to pick out which guys you could beat in a a fight and those you should leave well enough alone. Regardless o this fact, the hybrid still had to hold back a scowl.

Making up a quick lie he spoke in a rushed manner, “I was just about to see if I could track down some deer. With the storm passing and all I thought I would see if there's still food about.” It was a solid lie, a well thought out lie. Even if he hadn't come back with anything the second in command wouldn't have been able to say otherwise. And he didn't plan on coming back with anything besides perhaps some sweet ass too keep him warm through the night. Standing there he looked eye to eye at Theodore. No alpha would ever make the half breed submit unless they were going to hand him some goods on a silver pater. Even then he might be to stubborn to give in after all, he was dominant by nature and could never be broken like a simple animal.

apologies

It wasnt hard to sense that the dog luperci would rather be anywhere else but here. And Teddy himself wasnt too sure that this was the right way of going about getting to know his pack. But he sensed also that Anathema was not the close-knit family Naniko had wanted it to be and therefore each and every member was obliged to do something about it. Starting with Teddy, who was once one of the worst anti-social animals in the pack. Blue eyes picked on suppressed emotions and it seemed as though the dog was trying hard to keep something from his face. They were all liers and backstabbers it seemed. Pushing the thought aside, Black tinted ears rushed forward to catch the mans lie. Coniving nature told Teddy to call his bluff on it.

"An excellent idea Guiseppe. Perhaps I can come with you and lend a hand- we did quite well on the last pack hunt."

He spoke with a finality that told Guiseppe he really didnt have a choice in the matter. He already had his bow around his chest and back but it would be useless if Guiseppe wanted to hunt naturally. Shurgging it off he lay it in the corner, knowing no-one would go near it with his scent all over it. Rolling his shoulders softly from side to side, he motioned for the dog luperci to lead the way. Perhaps this way of getting to know his pack members was easier- coercion and force were his best friends.

He could remember the days, back in his home land of Italy, where his family ruled and the only canine that Giuseppe Trovato had to answer to ever was his own father. Half a year ago he had been living the good life, the rich life, and running it all from the top floor of an old hotel. It was a business that his father had run, not just a gang. Some called them criminals, some called them part of the mafia, but in the hybrids mind it was all simple business. If you wanted something done it was Draco Giuseppe you wanted on your side. His father had taught him the basics of business: It’s better to be at the top than the bottom and if someone tries to stab you in the back for power...well then you just kill them and rid yourself of one more lunatic in the world. After all, the world is only big enough for so many lunatics.

His lie was simple enough to cover his ass but obviously not good enough to encourage his ‘leader’ to leave him be and bug someone else. Internally he felt the need to shoot back a few swearwords but he kept his mouth shut, knowing that the only way he’d go up in ranks was if he sucked up to Mr. Boss-Man. Nodding he motioned for Theodore to follow with a fake smile. “Of course, Signore.” Although his insides screamed for the words to come out between gritted teeth the dog mix managed to hide behind the fake smile and his thick accent as he took the final steps out into the sunshine. Raising a hand to cover his eyes he looked out from their rocky exit hoping he could see something nearby to grab and be done with this encounter.
