Fading night

OOC: Harr.. I just realized the area Isk claimed her den in is right outside the lands that the 'Sadira' clan has claimed.. Go me.. I'm so retarded.

The lady of silver and gold had taken to exploring the lands she'd 'claimed', though truly she was no more the mistress of the lands than anyone else who wandered through the woods, they were where she called home now. Iskata Sadira knew there were others of her hereditary clan in this whole new world but she preferred not to find them, or be found by them anymore than she wanted to see anyone. Right now the quite forest and abandon beach was her family and she liked it thatway.

Her paws were carrying her across the old asphalt that trailed a broken path through the woods and towards the sea. The tangy scent of salt stung her nose and the sound of the gulls was annoying at times. She'd never really liked gulls, but that didn't stop her from padding down the trail to explore the new frontier. She had been about her trekking some time before the sunlight had started to crack through the branches and filter to the ground, soon enough she found herself at the edge of the road with sands blowing across the empty extension of land, her fur whipped and ruffled by the cutting winds that darted to a fro on the currents.

The bright sunlight was almost too much for her after so long being in the woods but she managed. She always just seemed to manage. Shaking her head to clear the thoughts from her mind she set a determined look to her face as she crossed out of the woodlands and down the path to the outskirts of the lands to explore.

Yuuhh, hai! <3 Sorry so late. Symbol on door if you care.

She had decided that today was a good day for shopping. The sun was bright, and her body was no longer racked with pain. Her muscles were still sore, and she kept first aid supplies in her bag now, since a couple of the deeper wounds still bled occasionally. But she was in need of some new clothing, and so she set off to the shops of an old, destroyed town. It had been, amusingly enough, referred to as 'Wolfville' by the humans that had lived here; the signs, though many had been eaten away at and torn apart by time and circumstance, told her this much. Of of the shops caught her attention, and she wandered in, her bag over her shoulder.

Though many of the shelves had become homes for rats and insects, she found a few new shirts and pairs of pants, which made her happy. She also came across scrap cloth, thread and needles, which would serve her well for patching her old clothing up. A few unbroken glass jars served to store her new supplies, and she obtained a few new bags to keep on her. After finding a few other things, she packed her bags up and settled them comfortably on her body, and began her trek out of the shop. She would come back here at some point. She picked up a red marker on her way out, and drew her symbol on the door. The writing was sloppy, but she would remember. She set off down the street.

A short time of walking found her at a path just out of the wooded areas of this territory. She glanced around, a scent catching her attention, and her eye caught on a female. A vague sense of familiarity rushed her. She paused, eyes following the motion, then spoke up.

"Don't I know you from somewhere?"

She had been so absorbed in her own world that she hadn't even noticed the dark pelted female moving towards her until her voice broke through the thoughts filtering in her head. Jerking out of her wake she caught sight of the female just as her scent hit her. The question the girl had asked was echoing in her mind as she paused and took a step back, studying the crimson eyed wolfess as she tried to place the scent. She nodded slowly as she regained that step she'd moved back upon, but she didn't over any other real explaination to how she knew her.. the wheels were slowly turning but she hadn't connected all the dots just yet.

Studying the clothing that the girl wore she licked her lips for a moment, her mouth having gone dry as she shifted through memories from so long ago. She almost was about to take back the nod of agreement when something hit her hard. IT dawned on her who the girl was, but it had been so long ago when she'd met her, and Iskata herself had been so angry she'd stormed out of the den in a raging temper. Swallowing hard she whispered the only name that her sister had given her that day, besides the name of the father. Anya... It had been so long ago, and shortly after meeting her neice Iskata's sister had up and left in the dark of night, leaving her family and Souls far behind.

Anka is so, so dramatic. Wow.

She studied the female hard, her eyes squinting at the form, trying to find something that would make the connection clearer. Silver... she blinked. Then the flashback hit her, and she blinked harder, trying to clear the vision of her past from her eyes to see the female who was actually before her now. They were the same. They obviously realised each other's identity within moments of the other, because she spoke just after her aunt did, her voice barely any louder. "Iskata. Iskata Sadira." It all made sense to her now. Her mother's sister. Those had not been the best days of her life. She sighed softly.

"It's Anka now," she told the older female quietly, to soothe the cringe that followed the sound of her former name. She couldn't find it in her heart to be rude to this female... she was nearly certain Iskata would not know of Aiji's death, and she herself would have to be the bearer of bad news. And she barely remembered the girl anyhow; there was no sense in being rude. She wasn't being offensive. Anka offered a weak smile, but already, she was starting to lose her calm. How could she possibly sum up the death of Aiji in the short, simple words that would be most comfortable for both females. How could she explain that her mother's death had been for the best, that she wouldn't have wanted to continue on like that, even if saving her had been possible? Her jaw tightened. She tried to breathe.

This would be an interesting day.

Har.. I was wondering when you'd come back. Yay for the Sadiras' overtaking the forum!

The two standing in the middle of the run down roadway was almost comical, staring at each other with that seeming look of disbelief that they were seeing a ghost from the past so bright and clear. She cleared her throat and shook her head, trying to dislodge the memories from her mind as well. When her niece spoke again she smiled apologetically and asked, Anka, wow.. you're all grown up now. The silver and gold female could be such a genius sometimes. I mean, of course you're grown up. You weren't going to be a pup forever... How are you? She shifted her weight to where she was resting more comfortably in the spot and studied the girl.

She was bursting with so many questions but everything she said was just coming out all wrong. She laughed softly and smiled again, a real one this time, no darkness and old memories filling her head. She could tell herself all she wanted that her family didn't matter, and that she didn't care if anyone hurt her.. but she knew it was all lies inside. How.. is Aiji doing? She really didn't want to ask that question, her sister had seemingly turned into such a different creature after they had grown up.. It had hurt Iskata to see the changes in her.. she'd even tried to kill Ahren for what he had done, but in the end all it had done was leave her scarred..

Now she was older and yet still Ahren and her hadn't been able to truly put it all behind them, though atleast now every time she saw him she didn't feel the need to kill him.. though that didn't change the past, and it didn't really change either of them.
