It was a wonderful day. There were a few fluffy white clouds hanging around in the sky, the bright, blinding sun peering around them. The warm ball of light cast sunshine all around the land and caused the temperatures to rise rapidly - a lot warmer than it had been the day before and the day before that of course. Spring was finally coming, and one of the ones who was enjoying it most was a small brown she-wolf named Alaska. She stretched out on her side deep in the forest, soaking in the sunlight through her dark fur (which attracted more sunlight that light colored fur, scientifically). Her stomach was full with a fat, juicy hare she had caught earlier. Lazy green eyes fell closed and she let out a happy sigh. Exhaustion was not a problem. Alaska was actually filled with a bunch of energy. She was just resting, soaking up whatever sunlight she could get. It was the best day she had experienced in months.

Letting a lazy yawn escape chocolate colored mouth, she suddenly heard something from somewhere near her. Yes, she was only a young girl, but she had been taught well by her parents and she had been living alone for almost three months now. She was nowhere near professional, but she was learning, teaching herself with everything she once saw her parents do. Truthfully, Alaska didn't want to move. She wanted to stay and soak up every little ray of sun that fell across the sky. But she couldn't just stay here. Lazily she let out another yawn, revealing ivory white fangs. Carelessly, she stretched her agile white-streaked paws (in this case hands) out in front of her, then grabbed a branch hanging overhead to push herself up.

Another rustle came from the thick undergrowth. Cowering back slightly, Alaska stared at the bushes with bright emerald eyes. If some massive giant wolf appeared from the bushes with murderous intentions, then she would have nothing to do but run and hope that she could survive until the next day. If it was some smaller wolf with good thoughts, she wouldn't run... but she would still hope to survive until the next day. She was just a girl and had survived this far, but she needed a pack soon. She thought of calling out. Choose your battles, her mind told her. Was this a battle she wanted to fight out - howling out to see who was there? Yes, it was, because she was in need of a home and in need of some friends and in need of some food. So it may just work out. Carefully, she opened her mouth and called out quietly in her small voice. "Hello? Is anyone there?"

The woman walked mindlessly along the borders of the pack she called home, her face set into a grim mask as it usually was, her too thin optime form easily brushing aside the caresses of the branches and shrubs and vegetation. Jace was not the happy go lucky wolf dog she once was and she thought it would be a long time before she could even think of beginning to be that way again, too much hurt and too much was lost for her to act as though nothing had happened. A strange scent caught her nose and her attention as things seldom did these days and the part arctic wolf femme turned her head towards the strongest direction of the scent.

Her long legs carried her swiftly even though her body had little energy to spare or use. The Phoenix Valley member simply ignored the call of her body for food and continued on her journey. She approached the intruder with haste, any trespassers were to be ejected and any joiners dealt with as quickly as possible. Pushing her way through the bushes she came into sight of a small brown wolfess whos ears were curled over although less than Jace's remaining ear tip was. Her cold, dead eyes swept over the female critically and Jace made a concious effort to soften her features so as not to scare the unknown canine, a smile devoid of any warmth flitted across her features although her eyes did not change at all .

"My name is Jace, you are trespassing upon Phoenix Valley lands, what is your business here?" The woman did not waste time with her questions, either this was a joiner or she was an intruder and both were to be dealt with quickness. She folded her arms across her chest, the scars on her face standing out in contrast to the white fur and brown eye spots.

It was one of the warmest spring days of the season, and Aletha was enjoying every warm breeze and pastel colored flower the day was offering. She had been surviving in the off skirts of the Phoenix valley pack for a while now. To uncertain to make herself known to many others and not very comfortable knowing to many anyhow.
So in her happy solitude she wadded through a swift moving creek. Paying little attention to the world outside of her as she pointlessly chased fish in the shallows, there speed did little to dampen her spirits.
A little way off she could smell the smells of an other wolves milling in the distance. Paying little mind to it, she contained her game like a pup three quarter her age.
Giving up and deciding to dry her fur in the sun she strolled off through the long grasses, that when brushed against blew a sweet smell of dew.
In the distance she heard the female, Jace? She struggled to recall. She knew little about her, yet the females voice reached her. Telling off an stranger who had approached onto the territory.
"Oops" Aletha said to herself embarrassed. Pressing her ears to her head. So thats who she had smelled. And she had done nothing about it, nothing at all. Shame washed up on her.
An inner conflict whirled inside of her. If she left she wouldn't have to face the stranger or the pack mate who might be sour to her for her late of action. Yet it was her duty now that she had joined the pack months ago. It was no longer about her.
Summoning up her bravo, she pushed her thin nose through the brambles and bushes to were the two luprici stood and sat assessing one an other. She stood there half out of the leaves. Her eyes carefully ventured to her pack member. She did not look in the best of health all the while the intruder lay there with a thick healthy looking coat.
Though Aletha was no fighter of any sort. She knew in case it got ugly she might need to help. She nodded her slender head to jace before sitting a bit away from her paws, like an obedient dog. She said nothing to the stranger just carefully eyed her.
