Lili had opted to wait for Luke outside the packlands, so that they could explore their new home together. That meant slacking off for a couple days, but Lili figured she deserved the chance to relax. There was very little she could do without the sheep Jeb and Ire, anyway--it wasn't like she knew any of the horses here, or like other people would be comfortable with her handling their mounts. She'd heard something about a cow--or was it a bull?--but Lili didn't know how to handle them, either, so really she was useless at the moment. Sitting in the sparse forest, on the opposite side of a barbed wire fence than a few grazing elk, Lili did her daily draw for the fifth time, always coming up with the same card--the Ace of Wands. That meant that, at some point today, there would be a good period to start something new, or a time to be creative. Lili wondered what that meant, but she wasn't one to try and force the cards; she would wonder later, after something had happened.

Like an elk leaning over the fence and swiping the card out of her hand. Lili didn't even give herself time to stare in shock; she jumped up, leaving the cards in a neat pile on the ground, and leapt over the fence, chasing after the stupid wapiti with claws extended and a snarl on her face. She wasn't much a fan of deer; sure, they could be intelligent animals, and yes, they were delicious, but they never had anything interesting to say. And they always...

They always tried to trample her. Lili leaped just as she thought of this, landing on the deer's back and wrapping one arm around its wiry neck. She struggled for a moment as it bucked and tossed, before she noticed her card, innocent and, luckily, uninjured, floating gently to the ground. She dug her claws in for good measure--damn the stupid thing for stealing it in the first place!--and slipped from its back, scooping the card up in time to roll away from hooves trying to come down on her head. Then she gulped, looking up to see an almost full herd pawing at the ground and tossing their heads. Yeah...they always tried to trample her.

She leaped up with a scream and started running, not daring to turn to her Secui form for fear of losing her precious card. They were everything to her; it was no wonder she'd been lured into what was so obviously a trap. Or maybe the idiot thing had thought it was a new thing to eat; all the same, if Lili didn't make it to the fence soon, she'd be flat as a card, herself...and hurting a lot more.

OOc: I don’t know, this just sorta came to me. :I Let me know if I should change it ^^

Leon leaned easily against his chosen tree, his ears laid back and a smile on his face as he enjoyed the sun. Today was a day to relax, as he still had no leads on his brother, though he was once again used to no leads. Now, however, he had come to accept that, and no longer grew somber or angry with the situation. He was growing more confident in believing Phoenix was still alive. A feeling in his gut, which was growing stronger, warded off the pessimistic thoughts his mind threw at him. So, with a content sigh, the Timber closed his eyes and dozed, trusting that his trained ears and nose would alert him to any approaching threats. Which awoke him instantly indeed when he heard a startled shout coming from nearby. He was on his feet and running within seconds, his body running on auto at full speed.

Leon quickly arrived at the field, seeing a female of average height running from a small stampede of elk. Not slowing at all, the male quietly jumped the fence, angling himself to intercept the female, closing the distance with his longer strides with ease. But he wasn't the only one. The agitated elk were right behind the two canines, moving faster than he himself. "... Brace yourself." The man said sternly. Not really thinking about the possible consequences, Leon closed the distance and picked up the smaller female, immediately noticing the obvious weight difference. He sprinted as fast as his legs would allow till he was about four feet away from the fence. The Elk were turning away, but a few of the dumber creatures ran on, following the fleeing wolf. With a growl, Leon tried to leap the fence again, but felt his foot catch on the top wire. Grimacing, he did his best to lower the stranger before falling to the ground a foot further, rolling to his back and staring into the sky, his mind in a slight daze.

He felt his foot burning slightly, but not the throbbing of an actual wound. "Well, that was fun." He said, taking deep breaths as calmly as possible. He closed his eyes, wondering if what he had done was really necessary. Until he heard an elk run into the wire and cry out before running off.

o_o I wish awesomeness like that just came to ME. Don't change a thing, I love it!

Lili was so caught up in her own out-right panic that she didn't see the timber wolf running to intercept her, and so, when he spoke his stern words, she yelped again, kicking on a burst of speed she hadn't known she was capable of and effectively running straight into his arms. Her first thought, as she found herself cradled to the chest of a stranger who was, quite effectively, out-running the stampeding elk, was a very vibrant image of an angry Luke, and a quiet, inaudible even to her own mind, Uh-oh. Her mate would not be pleased.

The second thought, as she turned her head ever so slightly and noticed the up-coming fence, was another, louder, Uh-oh. And, finally, as he took his flying leap and her heart fluttered while her stomach dropped, all Lili could get through her head was, I am going to die. There was really no use struggling and screaming now, when he'd already run so far; so she closed her eyes and squeezed her lost tarot-card tightly between her fingers and her thumb, and thought to let it happen.

A moment later she was no longer off the ground. Another second later, and she was rolling away from the stranger, onto her back, to stare up at the sky and marvel at the wonder of her state of existence. That is to say; still existing. She winced in sympathy as some poor, dumb creature ran into the fence before finally backing off, but Lili's bleeding heart did it's best not to care. They'd tried to kill her, after all.

Finally she rolled her head to the side, finding the timber who'd saved her spread out much as she was. Thanks. She managed, her voice cracking a bit half-way through the syllable until she was almost certain she was about to break down in hysterics. Near-death experiences did that to her.

OOc: I'm glad you liked it ^^ Sorry its so short. ><

Leon rolled his head and glanced at the hybrid in concern. He noticed her cracking voice, but again was at a loss for how to approach the situation. Sitting up, he caught his breath and spoke up. "It was no problem at all, Ateivis. Not much of an adventurer are you?" He asked in a friendly tone, not wanting to offend her. "You seem to be a bit rocked by that run in with the elk." He plucked a blade of grass and let it fly free, thinking of a conversation to distract the woman. Looking back at the shocked woman, Leon sat up straight. "My name is Leon ven Liudesys, by the way. May I know yours?" He asked calmly. Maybe she would regain her composure at simply hearing a voice.

"What were you doing in there alone anyway?" Leon asked, raising an eyebrow. He had missed what ever it was that drew her in, and was therefore curious why she'd endanger herself. He'd been on the bad end of a stampede before. He was still grateful he had fallen into that river by accident. "You smell of a pack, so surely you have a companion with you?" He glanced around with that statement, raising his guard. If she had a companion, it was likely the Timbers presence would be regarded with hostility as he was from another pack.
