SOUNDS OF CREATION AT MY DOOR

All welcome to Phoenix Valley and AniWaya members only. Members are expected to work on repairing the Three Moons' Ranch roof in this thread and nothing else; members are also encouraged to collaborate, speak together, and have a good time doing it.

There is no posting order for this thread. If your character strikes up conversation with another, then feel free to go back and forth as much as you want, without needing to interact with other characters, etc. Treat this collaborative project as a bunch of Valley members working together, but in different areas, doing different things, etc. and not needing to pay attention to everyone as they do it. This is a fun project and time together for the pack -- take advantage of it!

You may also bring your character in doing whatever you wish them to do, and OOCly assume Jefferson gave them that assignment prior to the project's start. They can gather wood, they can gather supplies, or (more preferably at least for the boys), they can be up on the roof pounding away at nails and whatnot. Jefferson is in charge, as always, and those in the Divan rank (Noah and Jace) are considered to be his assistants in the project and are allowed to give SOME direction at their discretion.

Also, pre-dated to May 3rd: Phoenix Valley's yearly celebration of Lá Bealtaine. Big Grin Don't have your characters wait for direction -- have them just get to work and start chatting. Big Grin

On the fifth of February, a snowstorm began its devastation upon Phoenix Valley. In a matter of days, the blizzard had left the delicate, whimsical packlands in a state of chaos, hidden ever-so-pleasantly beneath a thick blanket of snow. The pack was fortunate to account no deaths to the storm, though many injuries were sustained — including a drastic one against the leader. In an effort to rescue his son, the Valley titan Jefferson severed his arm with an axe in order to free himself, nearly losing his life in the process. However, the leader spoke little of the injury, refusing to release to the other members the exact reason the limb had been lost or how, and so the Valley had dwelt in a perpetual state of bliss and ignorance since the February disaster — amidst, of course, the irreversible rubble that was Eagle Tower, Saunder's Mill, and a number of other homely territories the Valley had cherished since the pack's inception. Among the damages was the collapse of the Three Moons' Ranch roof, the pack's most central point and heart of the territory; for some time the leaders had traditionally lived there, available to any who came by. However, a large portion of the ranch roof caved in during the storm, leaving half the building -- roughly an open living room area, kitchen, library, and front deck -- exposed to the weather, while the bedrooms in the back remained protected and intact by its still-standing portion of the roof.

And, with hammer clenched in one fist and teeth gritting down against nails between his teeth, Jefferson had decided it time to repair the damn house he had come to love so dearly.

The beginning of May had brought spring at an appropriate time; the weather was warm, cloudless, pristine. The cyclops had shedded his shirt early, now moving about as bare-chested as a man covered in fur and horrid scars could go. The severed stump of an arm still held a long shirt tied around it, as if to hide the gruesome, still-healing wound beneath from the general public, and in his single eye the Patriarch held no regrets. A spirit of vivacity and dedication lingered within, and when he sent the call into the sky for his members to gather, the sound reverberated with liveliness and spunk, all despite the recent tragedies of his life and the nails between his teeth.

Geneva is gone, he snorted within his own mind, teeth clamping tighter on the rusted iron between jowls. He tossed the hammer on the pile with the rest, eyed the nails he had begun scavenging, eyed the pile of found wood they had managed to gather for the occasion. With Lá Bealtaine came the ability to work late into the evening with still light — and with his members' help, they would surely get it done by dusk. For now, he himself set to work, tossing wood up to the roof in a more accessible place, and awaited his members to arrive and set straight to work.

Ookami heard the call of his leader and his head shot up quickly. He howled back quickly, letting Jefferson know that he was on his way. He stood up and shifted as fast as he could into his Optime form, knowing exactly what the male had called for. He jogged quickly to the Three Moon's Ranch and looked at Jefferson. "Good day sir. Mind if I help you up there?" Ookami found some nails and a hammer and climbed carefully up on the roof, not waiting for an answer. He didn't exactly know how to use the tools but after a minute of watching Jefferson carefully he decided he might as well give it a shot.

He copied what the Patriarch had done and within a few minutes of work was quite proud of what he had done. He used the back of his hand to rub his forehead, wiping away the little sweat that had accumulated there. "So when do you plan on all this being done?" Ookami would much rather work with small talk and seeing as how no one had yet arrived figured he may as well catch up with his leader he so greatly respected. Ookami continued to hammer away as he waited for Jefferson's reply. He didn't know if the brute felt like talking right now and he was sure that the male would have no problem telling Ookami that, but he would try any way to communicate with Jefferson.

Ookami peered up into the sky, spotting a few fluffy clouds. He smiled, What a lovely day! The thought had come across his mind often in the past couple of days and he was sure that it would continue to surface. When Ookami looked to get more wood he realized that there wasn't any left up here. He sighed and climbed down off the roof. "I'll be right back!" Ookami didn't want to seem rude for just up and leaving. He jogged into the woods, looking around for any wood that would be of use.

Aware that her prescience was required by her leader, his call rang in her ears and pulled at something deep in her heart, the instinctive need and want to bey one's Alpha. With a low grunt of effort Jace pulled herself back up the cliff from the short ledge she had been sat on above the sea watching its waves crash against the rock with all its fury, angered that the offending rock face would not bow to its strength. Shaking her fur to relieve it of the droplets of spray that had come to rest on it Jace set off towards the Three moon's Ranch as now it was time to fix the heart of the Valley and make it whole again.

A body built for survival moved swiftly throughout the forest and through fields of growing flowers; bees and wasps hummed and buzzed warning her not to come too close, birds chirped and cawed taking to the trees to escape her reach and once a herd of deer startled and raised from their laying positions to flee back into the trees away from her form. Still bone obviously skinny and almost skeletal the woman was a long was off from the beauty she had showed when she first arrived in the place of the dreamers, patches of her fur were still missing and some she feared might never grow back. The scent of sadness was surrounding her still like it would for a long time to come but for the time being it was pushed towards the back of her mind as the valley still needed fixing and she was one to help.

It wasn't long before she came upon another scent that had her veering off from her track, the scent was leading her away from her destination as she followed and she quickly caught up to Ookami who was gathering pieces of wood obviously for fixing the Ranch for she could smell Jefferson on the large golden male who she had made into a luperci, in a way he was a child of hers as she had given birth to his luperci forms through her teeth and saliva and blood, but in truth he was more a brother to her than a son and she certainly had no illusions about bossing him about like he was a youngster. Her tail wagged as she came upon him and a soft bark announced her arrival, her dog genes made her more inclined to bark than most full blooded wolves who almost never barked in any circumstance for it was not a vocalization that they used with any regularity in their daily routines.

"Ookami! Ookami! You are helping as well? Bah! What am I saying, of course you're helping." She shook her head at herself and ran up to the large man, licking him on the muzzle in greeting before stepping back and smiling. The black line in her blue eye was still visible although since her breakdown it had thinned a little.

The half-tailed brute arrived shortly after the other wolves dragging along whatever wood was left of the collapsed ruins he once called a home. The cabin Ty once resided in had been blown over in the storm, and rather than bother to rebuild it, Ty had been dragging over the usable remnants to the ranch for the past few months. He had loved that home and treated it as his old sanctuary, but when it fell in the storm, he knew it was simply the house's time to go.

Today was not about his loss anyway, it was about rebuilding of one of the pack's central pieces, the Three Moons' Ranch. It had been too long since the ranch stood tall and pristine in the fields, and he was more than happy to contribute to the building's reconstruction. The fierce golden-blue eyes of Ty caught the image of his old mentor Jefferson, to which he acknowledged with a slight nod and a soft smile. It had been too long since he had seen his mentor, they had grown apart since he had left and subsequently returned to Phoenix Valley, not to mention that Jefferson had acquired a family he had to worry about. Maybe today would be a day he could work with the old brute and maybe catch up on old times.

However, Ty's train of thought was interrupted by the sounds of conversation nearby. Jace and Ookami were here as well, now busily talking amongst each other about helping out the rebuilding. As usual Ty kept his distance from the others, it had been a few months since his return and Ty still had not got in touch with the new wolves of the pack. Though Ty was born and raised in Phoenix Valley, he now always had the nagging sensation that he was an outsider, simply watching the pack's events instead of really participating. There was a sliver of hope for reintegrating, however, as he had recently talked to Jace over a hunt. Perhaps during the rebuilding of Three Moons' Ranch he could begin to feel like a team player once more.

With a deep breath Ty went straight to work, walking past Jace and Ookami with a nod and a wave, but not much more than that. He threw what wood he had brought with the rest of the pile and hoisted himself up to the roof after Jefferson. "About time we got this done." He murmured to Jefferson with a chuckle as he grabbed some of the stray nails and a hammer "And it's good to finally see your mangled ass around Phoenix Valley again, you old bastard." Another laugh left Ty as he pulled a board to the roof, he figured his previous work with ships would come in handy for rebuilding. "How was your time at AniWaya?"

Virgil had decided that he needed to meet his fellow wolves and that rebuilding the roof of the ranch gave him the opportunity. He was in Optime form and headed over to the ranch. As he walked, he wondered what happened to his son. They had essentially 'made up' but hadn't seen each other again. Virgil wondered if he had done something to upset his son and if Falgar was ignoring him. He couldn't think of anything he had done to upset him.

He arrived to see several other wolves already working, including his Alpha Jefferson. He became submissive since he was sure that everyone here was higher up than him. Hello, everyone. He had some idea as to how to hammer so he joined Jefferson and a large white male on the roof. He started to nail the planks onto the roof. He kept to himself but was open to conversation if someone started it. He didn't know anyone at all but stayed approachable in his silence.

Ookami had been collecting wood when he heard a bark. He snapped his head up and smiled as Jace bounded towards him. She greeted him with a lick and words. He laughed easily. "Yes I am helping." He grinned, he missed the happy-go-lucky Jace and this act was making him happier by the second, seeing her hyped up. "How have you been Jace? You look better." As he gently gazed into her eyes he saw a black line in one that he had seen a while back. It was fading but it was there nonetheless. "Would you like to help me gather up some wood?"

He had picked up some more usable wood when Ty passed them with a wave and a grin. He smiled back, "Hello Ty." He spoke it as Ty walked away, clearly he wanted to get a start on the roof. Ookami was glad that they were finally rebuilding, in fact it was quite fun. He hummed to himself as he continued to pick up good wood. He waited to see if Jace was going to strike up some conversation when he noticed his arms were full. "Sorry, I'll be right back!" He jogged as fast as he could back to the ranch, dumping the wood in a pile near where Ty and Jefferson were on the roof. He ran back quickly to Jace and started to get more wood. He greeted her with a goofy grin.

He was still in a lot of pain, what Lucifer had done to him was something that he hoped to avoid by hiding away from the pack lands, however he had hurt Tala, he had hurt Jace…he care for them both they where his sister and he had failed to protect them. Noah could only wonder who would he hurt next, and how long till Lucifer would come back to finish what he started. Noah knew that unless he was careful he could be seeing the last few days...Weeks...or even months of his life. He would have to start living every day every second to the fullest. However there was things that need done to and he was pretty sure that he would be able to balance out enjoying what life he had before Lucifer came back to finish off what he started.

Jefferson being the wise wolf that he was, had put Noah in charge of lighter work, something to make him useful however not to hurt him any more then what he could take, the silver gimp was in charge of taking wood to the sides of the house they were working on, what way the workers on top would have wood that they could pull up to hammer the roof back to a newer and better state that it had been in, in years. The half blind brute did not want to show any weakness as he moved, keeping his head down and chugging away at his work. All for the pack land.

fail pooost! also im assuming its morning time so o.O

No longer dragged down and rendered fragile by the pups that had once lived inside of her body, her stomach distressingly empty and flat and was even sunken in as opposed to being distended out but the she hybrid was ignoring it all for the moment, Jace's former strength was returning to her, the same strength that had allowed her to drag the thrice times her size male before her across most of the pack lands before her body had given out under the strain.

"I am persevering for now, strength returns to these bones that feel as though I am double my age. As she spoke the female was stretching out her unused muscles and cracking her joins in preparation for hard work, odd popping noises and cracks echoing from within her body.

"Of course, of course, that's why I am here after all." She twisted round and waved at Ty as he passed them echoing Ookami's words, "Hey Ty." hybrid hands reached down to collect wood whilst Ookami went to empty his load against the side of the ranch. She worked quickly and soon found her own arms overflowing, prompting a quick trip to relieve her hands of their cargo, nodding a greeting to Vergil and Noah, and saying good morning to Jefferson.

Grumpy pants jr. is here!

He would try harder. Despite the knot of anxiety that tightened in his stomach and bowels at the thought, the boy had made that resolution to himself. Whether or not he had been absent from the other's minds, he had certainly been absent from their lives, slinking about the Valley lands with a heavy heart and a head hung low. Out of sight, out of mind, had been his philosophy up until now, and out of mind he wished to be. Jefferson had never announced the cause of his accident, but direct words were often not needed to reveal even the best kept secrets. And despite his father's insistence and reassurance there was no other explanation. A son for an arm, but what kind of trade off was that when Jefferson was stuck with Pripyat for a son?

As he combed through Halifax earlier in the day his mind kept drifting to Geneva. Sick, somewhere away from him, he couldn’t help but imagine her growing thinner, more fragile, heavier breath… whatever it was that the sickness did to her. Still, despite her suffering, he was sure that if she had stayed than everything would be okay. If Mother were here than he wouldn’t turn guilty eyes upon his father and skirt the rest of the members, he would focus on her and making her better. The smoky boy would have made her better, if only she had stayed.

He let the ghost of his mother slip from his mind as he headed to the meeting, nails and screws in a small sack he carried with him, some salvaged wood planks carried under his free arm. As the boy approached them he straightened his shoulders, wiped the misery from his face and imagined all the warm welcomes and greetings that would transpire between him and the others. Noah, Xeris, and Jefferson even… yet his feet froze as he moved along and before he came into sight movement halted all together.

Just get to it you idiot. Ears fell flat against a head that had grown rather broad at his own inner monologue. Still his feet did not move and closing his eyes for a long moment it was only the image he conjured up of another that set him in motion once again. And once moving he did not allow himself to stop until he strode in, past all the others without lifting his eyes to them, and dropped the pile of wood and the small sack of nails at his father's feet. "Ah, sorry it took me so long… I was…" And the words died away before the thought was finished, wrapping it up with a heavy sigh as if to indicate it didn't really matter what he had been doing. It made no difference anyway, at least he was here.

Remember, no posting order, so go go go! 8D

As expected, his Valley kin filed in one by one, each with a spunk in their step; they had recovered well despite what tragedies they had endured in recent months, namely the snowstorm and Lucifer's general idiocy in and out of the pack, moving like a shadow the Patriarch could never successfully hunt down. The Sawtooth idiot would not intrude on his pack's plans or rebuilding: As they would rebuild their shattered homes, they would rebuild themselves, their pack and their pride. Phoenix Valley would be ruined by no one — not as long as the one-armed cyclops remained in power.

He nodded patiently to each of them as they appeared, and as they did so he hauled the ladder from the side of the barn — thankfully, it had not been in with the animals at the time of the barn's collapse, and thus escaped the damage — and set it up quietly with a few slick kicks of his feet in substitution of his missing arm. The lost limb had surely whipped the Patriarch into a shape he had not been or seen in himself in quite some time, if ever; Geneva was dying, or dead somewhere out in the wilderness, and he had simply accepted his incapability to help and her unwillingness to be helped. He did not mourn, did not grumble about the accident or the trouble he'd found missing a limb. Jefferson simply made do, using his remaining limbs in ways he'd never imagined, and endured fine as such.

The brute could not suppress a slight smirk at his former apprentice's smartass words. "Aggravating," Jefferson replied over Ty's hammering. "They didn't much care for me. Dawali's good and he's got himself an assistant now, so you guys are stuck with me again." A sigh. "Especially now that who-the-hell-knows-where Tala went." He strode past, single green eye scanning what had been gathered and the intents of those in his presence.

"Noah," he called, noting the boy's silence. A quick glance about. "I want you to stick with Ookami." Not giving him a chance to argue, the cyclops turned his back on him, smirking as he smacked his son's back heartily in going past: "Stop slouching."

"Ty, you're going to help me on the roof," he called, motioning with a flick of the head towards the broken ceiling. "The rest of you, find something to do and get busy. Ty needs help hammering, and we could use more hands on the roof."

Too late for me?

With the time now here, the repairs could now be done to the buildings. Pendzez, despite his little absence, had been busy gather wood off the banks of the rivers. However, he did not do this alone. His son was most helpful. However, the big problems was to get it on the move. Luck, however, came their way

One of the horses that escaped the barn during the storm came back to the packlands. Pendzez managed to capture, not that it was hard. It was fairly docile at the time. Also, Carwyn found a wagon still intact. With a harness, Pendzez hooked the wagon on the mare and loaded the wood up onto it.

Now, with the wood collected and ready, it was time. Pendzez walked along the path to the ranch, holding the reins to the horse that was following. The mare showed no resistence, loyally obeying the white wolf as its guide. It had name. Pendzez didn't think it was his responsibility to give it name, since it might be going back to the barn with any future animals.

After walking all the way from his cabin, he finally reached the barn with the mare. Looks like they already started repairs. Now the white male was here, they had an extra hand. When was several meters away from the barn, he came to a halt and addressed to the cyclops, "Forgive my tardiness, but I bought extra wood." The mare stopped when the male did.

First AniWaya Member to help in this thread... Woot!!!!
WC: 247
Shiloh had walked to Phoenix Valley to see what they needed help with. She had heart the roof needed fixing and she hoped she could help in any way needed. She had wood in AniWaya that they could use to fix the roof but she had no horse to transport it. She hoped to help them make a none leaky roof and as she followed the sounds of hammering she was worried she was doing the wrong thing. She walked up to the barn she assessed what they had done already. They were working hard and as she walked up she spotted a lone white male with wood that looked some what rotted on some planks. She went over to him and tapped his shoulder before looking down

"Hi.... I'm Shiloh Grant from AniWaya. I am one of the wood carvers from there and I noticed you had found some wood. I think we should go though it and see which ones are rotten. I want to make sure you guys have a strong roof." she said softly, hoping the man didn't snap at her. She watched the others and hoped they knew what they were doing. She wanted to tell the alpha that after they had finished putting wood on they should put thatching over it to keep water out. It would hold longer and keep the wood under it from rotting and keep the animals warm.

Temo Wolfe

Wandering through the woods a lone black wolf padded around the trees. Temo was lost deep in his thoughts as he was walking through the trees. Not going anywhere in particular nor in a hurry to get there. Just having a quiet walk listening to the birds announcing their return from far off lands where they wintered.

He paused in his tracks, his ears slowly swiveling around because he heard some noise. His ears finally zeroed in on the noise and revealed it to be others talking and pounding along with various other noises. His curiosity got the best of him and he decided to investigate. After a while, he found himself looking at the ranch and an assortment of others busy at various tasks centered around the house and the rebuilding of the roof.

While still in the shadows of the trees, Temo shifts to his optime form and then proceeds to the ranch house and the nexus of activity. He wanders around looking at this and that, wondering if there was something he could do. He realized that his knowledge on habitation repair and his skill at using human tools was seriously lacking.

Things started looking up when he found Jace. He came up to her, a bit of a smile on his muzzle, "Hi, how are you doing?" he looked down at her arms laden with wood, "I would hug you but you seem to be currently occupied hugging an armload of wood" he said to her with a grin.
