Life in a pack was very monotonous some times, just doing the same thing over and over and over but the earth and chocolate colored man wouldn't change it for all the Spanish whiskey in the world, he would rather spend his days toiling away than struggling for survival on the outside, death had almost come for him and Analise during the snowstorm of February and now León was very wary of it, even though he was planning on an excursion to the town beyond 'Souls soon, the Spaniard shook his head and huffed wondering why he was so stupid sometimes. Strong hands gripped the pitchfork and broad shoulders flexed as he dug the prongs into the dirty hay and lifted it clear of the stall before returning for another load.

Cleaning out the stables was one of the tasks that he surprisingly enjoyed, it gave him ample time to think while his body went through the motions of his job within the pack. Most of the horses were absent which was why he had chosen now to clean them, less distractions. But as always his loyal mount Faith was watching him from her own stall, her great black head rising high and her ears pointed towards him, the star splash of white on her forehead standing out prominently, she nickered gently and sang for him in her low speech language, lilting spanish words meeting his ears gratefully. His racing thoughts were calmed and instead he listened. One who did not speak low speech would only hear a horse nickering gently at her owner but the black maned man knew different.

Time was one thing it did not take him a lot of to finish cleaning out the stables and he put his pitchfork away and dusted off his callused hands. Faith looked at him and snorted before lowering her head to munch at the fresh hay in her feedbox.

León does. "León speaks." León thinks.

Saxif had been wandering the grounds freely for a while that day. The young cream lupreci wanted to see everything her new pack had to offer. Her ear perked suddenly. She only just learned what that noise was on the day of her arrival. The creatures known as horses. The cream wolf followed the noise with a cautious step. Another noise became apparent, it was like a scrape and swish. When they came into sight she was mesmerized by what she saw. A large lupreci was using a tool she had not yet seen. She leaned against a fence behind the black maned wolf. His shoulders shifting with great strength as he scooped dry grass from the horse's homes. She looked over at the beautiful black horse that neighed in soft tones. She wanted to offer her help but the man was almost done it seemed to her. So she stood there observing his movement so she would know how to use the item he possessed.

The one thing that always amazed her about these lands was the diversity in breeds. She had been so use to seeing the pale grey and white colored wolves of her home it was almost unnerving. Every new breed she met here often offered their own distinct attributes. The size of this one was her first observation, he made her feel dwarfed. His coloring was the next, she had yet to see a wolf so nicely colored with such rich colors.
She glanced back at the horse who had noticed her presence. It looked at the large wolf, let out a snort and proceeded to eat. Saxif felt it was probably a good moment to announce herself."What's its name? Its quite beautiful." She pushes off the fence and walks toward the tall lupreci her snout about the height of his chest. She looked up at him with her golden eyes, curiousness glistening within them.

Earthen ears twisted as a voice spoke out from behind him and he turned to focus his white iris-ed eyes upon the female speaker. Like most females and many males she was a lot smaller than himself, colored in tones of golden and blonde, she was a nice looking young woman and León found himself smiling back at her automatically as Faith nodded and harrumphed behind him in the strange way that equines did. Curiosity sparkled within her wolf amber eyes and León found himself admiring her youthfulness.

"She is called Faith, she is a Clydesdale horse, although somewhat improved from the ones the humans kept." He reached over to pet the mare, who was almost as tall as he was himself. He stuck out his hand in offering to shake,

"I am León austral, one of the Elan Soquili of Aniwaya."

León does. "León speaks." León thinks.

WC: bleh thats my word count

She was taken aback by his eyes. They almost disarmed her regal posture into a more aloof stance. Never had she expected such amazing eyes on a wolf but she was so use to the common brown among her people any colored eyes threw her off. His hand outstretched to her she carefully placed it in his. She smiled shyly as she had turned her gaze away from his pale eyes and looked at Faith behind him. To her she couldn't help but feel mocked by the horse for her silly girl reaction to a simple gaze and handshake.

"My name is Saxif Goldenfeather, one of the Tsisdu Kanati. I'm new... new to everything here actually." She shifts from one foot to the other, her tail swaying in a shy manner. She returned her gaze back to the tall wolf's face. "Did you need any help anything?"
Her eyes were hopeful when she had looked up at him, she had felt thus far unusable to her pack. But she figured one day she would have her moment to shine. For now she just had to be useful.

Her shock at his eye color was obvious in her face and it did not bother the Spaniard in the least, it was a very unusual color even to people who had seen a lot and been many places. León could not possibly know just how strange they were to this female nor any of her history or life. It seemed he received as many shy smiles from innocent females as he did meeting those at the borders who wished to mate with him. Not that it mattered to him, a smile or carnal relations he was happy in the company of females regardless of what happened during the time spent with them. Her hand small and almost cute in his own as was the story with lots and more.

She introduced herself, named for the first half of the herb Saxifrage, the thought making him smile. Her nerves were clearly displayed with shifting feet and a shyly flicking tail. One of the Rabbit Hunters of the pack.

"Ahh A young hunter. We're always in need of those." Now she asked if she could help and his look turned thoughtful, in actual respect anything León would do he could complete himself but he could see the hope and wanting to be useful in her eyes so he thought why not, he could use the company. Now he looked around and searched for something that needed doing before spotting the bag of feed that was fed to the horses along with the hay.

"If you want you can help me distribute the feed to the food boxes in the horse's stalls before they all come back inside for the evening?" Behind the stables the sun was beginning its slow down to the horizon before finally it would be hidden completely by it and night would fall.

Been neglecting you Tongue Sorry ^_^

Saxif’s tail had wagged excitedly when he accepted her help. She was not accustomed to working but she had always wanted the opportunity. In her soul she knew she was meant for more than looking pretty and providing pups to the pack leaders. Her uncle had called her a backwards child. No matter what her family wanted of her she would do the opposite. This is what made her feel so happy in these lands. Here she could be who she was without arousing a mutiny among her pack. Not that it had ever come to that, but if she had been named the next to lead she would surely have had one on her hands. Maybe it was for the best. She had her freedom and her pack remained unchanged. She happily followed the large dark wolf to the feed.

Her uncle had also told her she would sometimes over analyze things, except when it came to hunting. That she knew naturally, everything made sense. Hunting was just simply simple to her when it came to the knowledge of it. The actions were what she hoped to improve upon. So she stood by the feed a moment and wondered if there was any special way the feed had to be laid, or if there was a possibility of giving them too much or too little. She looked up at Leon questioningly. She was so worried her inexperience in their ways would be a bother to them. She only hoped the older ones of this pack were more helpful in teaching her than her last.

Such excitement she showed and zest to help him, it was refreshing to the earth and chocolate man to have one so young who wished to help besides his own daughter. He nodded his approval getting the sense that this was a youngster who had not been allowed to work in her life, probably she was a runaway from some high and mighty family who believed they were royalty and above the rest but León did not let this thought color his mental gatherings of her in an unfavorable light for even the richest and blue blooded of families could produce members that were decent and did not think themselves high and mighty, his first mate Kailypso had been an example of one such member, she had been their princess the next in line to rule as the Alphess from her father but when she had met León she had confided that she was more a prisoner than the people chained in the dungeon caves, trapped in a life she did not want, then he had offered her the way out, with him.

He led the growing woman to the horse feed and gestured for her to come closer, Faith watched them steadily from her great height that matched himself with brown equine eyes, when he passed she reached out her neck and gave his ear a nip, he swatted at the mare's nose with a paw but she had already moved her head out of his reach, he shook a finger and tutted at her and she neighed amused at him, he stuck his tongue out and she did the same. With a smirk still on his muzzle he turned to Saxif,

"All you have to do is grab one of these shovels and scoop out enough food to fill it then put it into each horses food box, like this" He picked up one of the plastic scoops and scooped up some of the feed before dropping it into Faith's feed box, who immediately began munching away at it. He gave the scoop he helf to Saxif and grabbed the other one himself, and began to fill up each horses feedbox

Saxif had moved toward the earthy toned male with a slight awkwardness in her step. There was something about him she liked, she was unsure of what it was. He seemed to have this sense of knowing, because he showed her the proper way to fill the feed boxes shortly after she worried. She chuckled lightly at the interaction between the wolf and his horse.

As he finished his instruction she had merely nodded with a smile and proceeded to help Leon with his duty. It had not taken them long at all. She felt oddly highly accomplished at the menial task. To him it must be everyday work but to her it was a step to her growth, to her independence. She liked that this wolf was kind to allow her to help him. She would be grateful for his open nature. Thank you. She said after setting the feed and scoops in their rightful place. Feeling kind of embarrassed that she thanked him for her help.

She looked up at the man again. I have been wondering all day where I would be expected to sleep. Do you think you could show me where that might be when I finish helping you with your tasks? She had just sort of happened upon the pack territory. It was an act of faith so she had not really thought through the details of joining a pack. She knew what she would do for the pack but not how she would live among them. She wondered what else she may have forgotten to think about before suddenly deciding to become Aniwayan. Things were different here but she was not sure of how different.

Silence descended over them both as they worked but it was not awkward or uncomfortable, anyways he did not mind he liked to be in quiet as he did his work sometimes it helped him focus better although not much was needed to scoop feed out of the bags and deposit them in the food box of each stable watched as always by his faithful companion, chuckling inside at the little joke. Quickly they worked together and finished in no time at all, he turned to the young female noting how the setting sun made her fur shine in its orangey light. He rubbed the back of his neck, slightly embarrassed that she would thank him for letting her help.

The man leaned against one of the stable doors, quickly and deftly untieing the band keeping his long black hair in a ponytail. Long ebond locks swung forwards now free of their constraint, longer at the back than the front. A hand ran through it to straighten it as he listened to the girl talk of needing a place to sleep. León wasn't sure where one who did not have relatives within the pack or a house stayed but he couldn't very well leave her to wander around on her own.

"If you are wanting, you are welcome to stay with me and my daughter, Analise. Shes a few months younger than you." It was getting darker now and the earth and chocolate man looked at the paddock and the silhouettes of the horses still outside, he would have to bring them in before he left, he looked bak at the growing woman,

"Although first would you help me get all these horses in for the night?" As he approached the fence several of the horses looked up at him and some of them even began to walk slowly towards him.

In a bit of an odd mood ^_^ WC:232

She was excited to meet the other horses. When she met her first one she was awed by their docile nature as transporters of lupreci. She hoped one day she might get to ride one herself. She felt flush for a moment as she watched the tall chocolate male release his long mane from its tie. His colors were now a delightful mix of earth and chocolate. She internally wished she was older but she barely understood the concept to which others spoke of anyway. She had only felt strongly for a single wolf and had not fully understood why he made her feel that way. Her heart seemed closed off to any possibilities but maybe one day she would meet the right male. Yet she still felt flush at the sight of this older male. She smiled slightly to herself, her thoughts a rampant spiral of confusion and wonder. As he offered her a place to stay she responded shyly. I wouldn’t want to impose.

She followed Leon with a slight excitement in her step as she was about to meet more horses. She watched as the horses approached Leon as a few neared he so gently patted a couple of them. She smiled and approached a pony, rubbing its snot in the same manner as she saw Leon do. It snuffed slightly but allowed her to continue. Such amazing creatures.

She tried to politely refuse his invitation on the grounds that she would be imposing but he waves a casual hand at her, brushing away her notions. Even if he and Analise had no room to spare in their home he still would have offered because that's the kind of man he was, he would sleep on the floor before he saw a femme have to. A gentlemen would never deprive a lady of a bed to sleep in even if it was to his detriment or the bed a simple hammock like in his home but as it turned out they had a spare guest room that she could use since Analise slept with him because of the nightmares she suffered, her deceased younger brother often visited her in her dreams to play with her.

"Disparate! No imposition, we have plenty of room for a guesst to stay, in fact I would be insulted if you refused." The tilt of his smile and arch of his brow showed he was teasing her with the last part, he wouldn't be insulted but he would walk with her until they had found her some place safe to stay for the night. Turning to the horses he cupped his hands over his mouth and called softly into the night,

"Vienen aquí! Vienen aquí Caballos!Time for bed!" The horses pricked up their ears and reluctantly began to make their way over to him to be stabled properly for the night. 'Quera came up to him looking for a nose rub and he obliged the stallion, then Fuerte was there shoving the other out of the way for his share of nose rubbing, he nodded as Saxif spoke of them being amazing creatures, agreeing in Spanish softly under his breath before grabbing the halter of the nearest horse and began to steer it towards the stables.

Sorry I have been busy.

Saxif followed Leon’s lead; she reached for the reins of the nearest mare and walked carefully behind the large wolf and horse. She pondered on being his house guest, she would be grateful to feel a part of someone’s home than to be alone. She had been alone for what seemed for so long to the young ivory female. What is your daughter like? She asked after the their second leading of horses into the stables. She had not been around many females; it was her sister who deterred her from them. It was also her tendency to enjoy play fighting and hunting games that kept the young females from her. The females in her village were often quite petite and dainty compared to her. She had fed and built her to attempt matching her body to that of her male friends. She never wanted to let them have the upper hand, but they still would, because no matter her appetite she stayed slender but her strength was always a shock to them.

She hoped Analise was like her father, she felt she could get along with a female who was as accepting as this man. She wondered what happened to her mother. Why her father remained alone. Whether or not the younger female would like her.

Smile no problem! 2+

The question turned his neutral expression into thought, a considering her words and his answer. There was no one way to explain his daughter, she was such a mix and match of both himself and her mother despite her appearance taking almost completely off of his genetics. When he looked at her he saw Kailypso completely and utterly, the way her fur fell, how her violet eyes shone whenever she was excited about something, trying to get her to do something she didn't want to was like trying to drag an angry bull by the horns, almost impossible.

"Even if I sat here with you for hours I could not give you the complete profile of her. She is free spirited, stubborn, and willfull just like her mother. Is almost always smiling or laughing or telling a joke. Level headed and kind, but she'd have no problem telling someone how they stood, she can't stand playing fake just for society, deems it stupid and I agree with her." It wasn't often he met someone who did not get along with him or he with them but when he did he didn't care if the person knew the feeling was mutual or not. He was sure his daughter was going to turn into a fine and upstanding woman of worth, and good luck to any man who tried to curb her nature or change her ways, he would be in for a shock.

He looked at the golden adolescent, she didn't look old enough to have left her pack already, most packs tried to hold onto their females for as long as possible,

"Where do you come from Saxif? You seem a little young to be on your own really." León would not have high thoughts of any man that let his youngish daughter wander about unattended, children were to be protected and treasured until they were ready to fly when their time came. He knew he would always be there for Analise even if it was clear she was not making the best choices for herself, when she was an adult all he could do was hold her up when she was high and catch her if she fell, to do any more would push her away from him with suffocating feelings.

She worried momentarily when Leon described his daughter. She herself smiled often and was stubborn. Saxif though had a tendency to be more stiff or imperial in her way of speaking and acting. It was the proper way to be in her position in her last pack. She hoped it wouldn’t offend the two, but figured maybe it’s a blessing. Maybe they will teach me to be normal The thought was the moment her worry slipped away. He finally asked her a question she hoped wouldn’t be asked but figured she must be honest.

I come from the Northern cold desert on the other side of the great waters. It was quite a trying travel but I managed to make it through thanks to my uncle’s teachings. Her mood kind of shifted. I left because I didn’t belong there. She turned away kind of hoping to keep her expression from the dark male. Her emotions grew suddenly. A mix of homesickness, anger, sadness and fear. She missed her uncle and her father. My uncle often called me stubborn too. A light mix of amusement in her tone. The anger was a reaction to the betrayal of her sister and friend. She didn’t know where the sadness was coming from but the fear was the fear of un-acceptance.

Her fear that she wouldn’t fit in in these lands and would find herself socially out casted again. She feared the way she felt toward this man and feared the way her heart ached from his soft expressions. His deep earthy tones made her feel like opening up to him even though she had only just met him. She took a deep breath to calm her internal storm. She knew her emotions would show this time but still not so greatly, it was after all not appropriate for the daughter of an Alpha to be anything but a proud offspring.

He nodded serenely as she explained where she was from and why she was here, he could understand leaving because you don't fit in, better to extract yourself from your situation and find somewhere better than remain within it and stew. He could sense she still held a lot of anger and ill towards the thought and so did not press her any further, though he got the drift that if her old pack ever found her here that they would take her back, from the way she spoke and held herself he would guess her to be the daughter of a very high ranking wolf maybe even the Alpha's daughter. He shook his head and smiled at the young woman before handing her the halter to another of the horses to take in for the night.

They were almost done with the small herd AniWaya owned and the majority of the horses did not give them any trouble, wanting to bed down for the night and sleep in the safety of the stables away from predators and the like. They worked together in silence as they toiled away together, until at last the paddock was empty of horses completely. León did one last head count to make sure that all were present and counted for, which they were and came out of the stables and shut the door behind him. It was time to go home and greet his daughter and give her the food that he had stashed away in his satchel for her, not that she couldn't hunt for herself but he liked to bring her some food back although it would be more than likely she would have some food all ready for them both so the food he had could feed SAxil if she was hungry so either way the food got used.
