OuO I may be a little rusty for a bit—bear with me!
WC: 500+

The first grey light of dawn kissed the ocean’s ebb and flow. The rhythmic susurrus of the bay’s timeless waters lapped at the thirsting shore, breaking any promise of a silent sleep. But already a soul had risen, toiling to retain prime physic and endurance to support a martial lifestyle. The soul had been a mere flotsam amidst the great body of water, and since the initiation of the swim, the soul knew not when the swim would end. The lean body of sinew carried the soul through the water, and luck was with her for the whispering waves were gentle in the dark hours of early morning. It had been when her muscles burned and ached with fatigue, when her breathing was labored, yet not harsh, that she saw the solid horizon of land in the distance. Encouraged by the promise of solid land, she had found the strength to make those final strokes that carried her to what was Whisper Beach.

She lay upon the dry sands, cooled and without the warmth of the sun. But her body, hot from her recent efforts, was thankful for those sands. White, almost glowing orbs looked up at the still foreign skies as she contemplated her recent work out. The black wolf did not know how far she had swam, only that she had swum far. All she knew was that she had departed near the boarders of some long-established pack, the scent strong and marked additionally with the skulls of those long dead. Here, upon the shores of her landing, there was only the scent of a different pack carried from a distance upon the soft breeze. And now, dawn was growing stronger, colour finally beginning to claw its way from the darkness of night. With effort, but not without grace, the Korean hybrid lifted her weary body from the sandy earth.

For now, the black fae shifted down to her natural shape. She did not know how far she would need to travel to find enough fresh water for bathing. The black fur, still damp, would be caked with salt soon, and although she was weary and essentially vulnerable, the black wolf knew that the colder climate of these lands would be equally dangerous should she allow her fur to remain salted. And so she traveled.

Too tired to fully enjoy the scenery, the martial wolf simply scouted for the scent of fresh water. She wandered throughout the day, the sun rising and warming her through the swiftly thickening trees. The lean sinew served the warrior well, carrying her despite the increasing fatigue. The white orbs reflected the dim light, illuminating in an eerie way, as a wraith’s soul might in the dark places of her homeland. As darkness descended, welcoming the black-furred hybrid into its tenebrous embrace, her search ended. She found a strange lake with a colour as unnatural as her own eyes. The black female paused momentarily to shift into the humanesque shape, observing her surroundings as she did so. Deciding that it was safe, the Korean taekwondo warrior walked into the water, her movements strangely graceful as she began to bathe.

Hi there :3 don’t mind the hopeless girl

The elegant and small cloud-furred female had not returned to her homelands from the previous night. A simple lack of the need to be alone in bed for a few fitful hours caused her to keep running. She felt like the young girl she once was before he had found her. But he was gone, leaving her in the same state she was before. Nightmares came frequently now, like unwanted visitors lingering in her mind whether sleep eluded her or not. Since his strong arms were not there to hold her in the cold and grey toned mornings, she guiltlessly avoided any instance he would if he were here.

After meeting the man she found herself fond of in the clearing, her limp body wandered north until she found shelter in a cave that expanded its darkness enough to fit Saphraine. She traveled without food and didn’t have the energy to hunt. When night fell, cynical and teasing with its light patterns in the sky, the girl fought to stay awake. Hours of unconsciousness came and went until Ever let her eyes drop permanently.

It was easy to wake before sunrise. Her labored breathing had aroused the stallion first, causing him to stir and stand anxiously, eyes on the blooming golden ball in the sky. She woke soon after, pushing her auburn ringlets back. The half weave was still in her hair, protruding spiraled fiery red tendrils. Before leaving, Ever steadied herself and patted Saphraine down with a hand.

She was off before the golden lights of dawn had touched its twisted rays on the basking sea. Pushing the haflinger into a strong gallop, the girl headed east, face an expressionless mask. Ever lead Saphraine till they were both out of breath and slipped gracefully off him the first chance she got, immediately going down to her knees on the hard stones of the bank north of the lake. Her eyes closed tightly as she fought to breath. Sorrow and guilt swept through her in waves until she was able to control herself. She wasn’t oblivious as to why this was all happening again.

Slender body stood and paws padded on the hard stones until they fell away to forest floor. Beams of dusk danced in between the trunks and lined the ferns in silver. The youth turned slowly and collected her companion in a meaningful hug, grasping his muzzle with her dark paws. She had no sense in direction, where she was, what she was doing. Such a feeling bothered the proper girl. Carrying the grudge with her on shackled chains, Ever plodded forward, finding comfort only in the presence of having the wild stallion near.

Reaching the edge of the lake came as a relief, and no sooner had they got there than the hybrid dragged herself upon a rock and gazed in the aqua shallow water as if trying to find answers. Knees tucked to her chin, Ever lay her sorrow in her own lap and listened to the gentle purl of the water and the click of hooves on stone.

OuO! Thanks for joining~

The black-furred she-wolf ran her lightly callused fingers through her coat, releasing clouds of salt into the fresh waters of the lake. Already the dark woman felt much better, for, although she had come from a small land surrounded by ocean, she belonged upon solid land and in fresh water. With her soul sighing delightedly through shining, lunar orbs, the woman’s emotionless features relaxed. Thoroughly, she continued to rub away the salt that dissolved immediately upon contact with the water, making sure that none would remain within her coat to hinder her ability to retain body warmth. Occasionally, she would change her location so as to utilize as much fresh water as possible. As she worked quietly and gently, the dark fae noted that the waters felt different than the waters of her homeland. There were more minerals, she decided, and the water felt ‘뻣뻣해,’ or ‘stiff’. It was something that she would have to get used to, if she were going to make a new home of these lands.

The Korean hybrid licked her lips as she realized how hungry she was. She realized as well that her lips tasted like the ocean, and she dipped her face down to wash it clean. Dunking her head, she scrubbed the salt away before lifting her head and shaking the moisture from her coat. As she was reminded of how tired her body was, the well-trained ears heard the arrival of another. Because she was in both a foreign culture and a foreign land, the taekwondo artist was on alert, her hackles raised and her posture erect. Forgetting her fatigue and hunger, the glowing, white orbs found the ‘intruder’ of the peaceful scene and watched the other quietly. It seemed, however, that the light-hued wolf was no threat to her at the moment, and the Korean was struck by the sadness that seemed to emanate from the other.

Slowly, the black wolf pushed herself into deeper waters where her feet found no purchase. Approaching she called out, “누구셔?” forgetting that she was not in her homeland. The Korean’s voice was both loud and soft, a smooth alto that easily cut through the air. There was an uncertain pause before the foreign hybrid continued. “Heh-loh,” she called softly in thickly accented English. A soft bow of her head was given in greeting, as was custom in her culture. She wanted to ask who the other was and also why the other was sad, but perhaps now was not the time. Her tired body and her tired mind found it difficult to recall any English in an effective manner. The white orbs peered up at the other, openly displaying her plainly beautiful and foreign features in the dim light of the evening sun. Her body moved slowly to keep herself afloat as she waited with great uncertainty for the other to respond. Although the foreigner was not immediately friendly to the stranger, she was not hostile as well. There was no need to cause pointless hostility, although sometimes, she admitted, it was fun.
