Ooc: Yay Ghita/Jazper romance! Big Grin

It had been a long time since he had spent one on one time with Ghita and it sure as hell was about time he made an effort to show her that she was still his number one. After the second litter they had been busy raising the 3 little ones, finding it difficult with Tony and Lorenzo fighting every second of the day. The two parents had been worn thin daily trying to keep up with their three bundles of joy and teach them the lessons that needed to be taught before they grew up. Now the pups were already 7 months old, hardly pups and not quite young adults yet but they were exploring by themselves and moving into their own rooms, leaving Ghita and Jazper alone once again.

It was sunset already and the plan was underway. The friendly giant had moved a small wooden table into the center of their room, along with two chairs and a few candles. Somewhere he had read about the romantic dinners humans would throw for each other and he had searched Halifax for the flat things they put the meals on. Placing a second plate in front of the second chair he looked around. Everything seemed to be in order. He had a few candles here and there, the sun was setting leaving just the right amount of light left, the room was cleaned and a variety of meats including rabbit and deer was nicely chopped into cubes and placed on the two plates.

On this particular evening Jazper didn’t wear any clothing as he much hoped the night would end in the bed. However, the male did have a black box in his hand containing a beautiful diamond necklace that took the shape of a heart. Placing it beside Ghita’s plate he quickly left the room and shut the door behind him. “Ghita?” He called at a level just below a shout. She was in the mansion somewhere and he knew she would come.

Word Count→453 Had to look at his profile for a bit, and I assumed he was wearing the clothes, since that's what it has listed. OMG, he is so huge in comparison to her. @.@

The children were growing. Already, it seemed they would soon be adults, and though it excited the maturing Marino, she couldn't deny the sadness that she felt at that fact. Fia and Tony and Lorezno, each of them would soon be considered adults in the eyes of their family. Ghita folded up a blanket in silence as she mulled that over in her head. Aro and Sophia, they had already grown up. Sophia had started to rebel against her parents, running off to who knew where. Aro was so quiet lately. As their mother, she felt she should have known better the places that her children spent their time, but it simply wasn't so. Tony and Lorezno took up much of her attention with their fighting. Even Fia, in all of her activity, distracted the Marino woman.

She rubbed at blue eyes once she finished cleaning the room she had shared with Jazper for nearly two years now. It looked the same. It always looked the same, at least to her. A haven for her often grumpy moods, where the dark male could ease her stress. Of course, lately they hadn't had the same amount of time together as they might have in the past, busy raising their children to the best of their abilities. Fia had been the first to leave their shared bedroom for her own space, but at this point her brothers had done the same and that left more space for Jazper and Ghita to pursue the romance they'd had in the past. She'd already started to take steps toward that, working on a gift or two here and there when Jazper wasn't around.

The day passed easily with her out and about, playing with Fia in the growing grass and placing the finishing touches on a tool belt for her handsome mate, and when the sun went down and she returned home, she was exhausted. A nuzzle to Fia was her goodnight and the Italian wolf made her way back toward her own room from their daughter's, checking on Tony and Lorezno, Aro and Sophia along the way. Sophia wasn't home. Ghita let out a sigh and closed the worn door to her eldest daughter's bedroom, giving a shake of her head. Jazper's voice caught her attention farther down the hall; he was looking for her.

She approached their bedroom, rubbing her cheek with an uneasy hand. "Sophia is gone again," she said, her often lively voice hiding beneath a film of sadness. Her arms found their way around his chest, as she was much shorter than Jazper, and let her face rest against the soft fur between the pale blue fabric he wore. "I don't know where she goes all the time."

Waiting patiently he stood, beating his fingertips steadily on the door frame he was blocking. Ever since he had met Ghita he had been spontaneous in small bursts. Naturally being more of a conservative sort of man he wasn’t one to yell from the roof tops and declare his love to the world but he tried his best in his own special ways to prove that what they had was real. It had been hard for Savina, he knew that. It would have been hard for any sister to find out that their trusted friend had gone and knocked up her sister even though they could barley understand each other at the start. Still, he was glad that life had given him this twist of fate. Without that one drunken night they wouldn’t have the beautiful family of five pups they had now.

Movement in the corner of his eye drew his attention to his mate who was approaching him with a look he knew all too well. It was that look that had graced her beautiful face since the day she found out she was pregnant with Aro and Sophia. It was the look of motherly worry. Ghita wasn’t very good at being a damsel in distress for of female. Never had she been into girly short frilly dresses or putting bows in her hair. She was a down to earth, thoughtful woman and Jazper loved her for that but one thing she did an excellent job at was worrying about her children.

Giving her a comforting smile he reached his arms around her tiny waist in a supportive hug. She felt so small and venerable in his arms and with their substantial size difference it certainly looked that way too. “She has her mother’s wandering spirit.” He teased lovingly. His mate had spent a good portion of her early life constantly travelling with other free spirited wolves. While he had always stayed put in a pack. Moving back a step he positioned himself to the side of the door, a large hand still holding onto her waist. “Perhaps there is something in our room with might cheer you up?” Although he shared some concern for his daughters mindless wandering he knew that she was a tough girl and could handle her own in a fight, after all he had been the one to teach her to throw a punch, but right now his dinner plans were more important than fussing about something they couldn’t change.

WORD COUNT→422 — Sorry for the wait! Also, I am full of fail! I only just realized that he isn't wearing clothes. >.> I need to read better or something.

The weight of her lover's arms around her comforted the worried mother as she allowed herself a moment's peace; Jazper had, despite their initial inability to really communicate, always left a sense of ease in the mind of the chocolate-mixed woman. He was her knight, her upstanding pillar of society who watched ever so carefully over the family they had created. Yes, it had been entirely accidental, but she had no regrets when it came to her children; the wounds of her past were healed by the presence of the pups she could claim as her own, with the help of the dark male she embraced. Despite the concern she felt for Sophia in that moment, she allowed a smile to form on her black-lined lips, blue eyes finding the glittering gold hue of her mate's. His teasing was received with a good-natured laugh and a gentle nuzzle to his broad chest — their difference in height made it impossible for the woman to show her affection any other way.

She didn't look past him when he moved away from the doorway, remaining fixed on him until he spoke again. For some reason, he thought their bedroom held a key to cheering up the Marino woman; well, that couldn't be true, as she'd cleaned it earlier in the day. Despite her belief that there was nothing special hiding in their room — nothing except for her gift for her handsome lover — she was left in shock as she turned her gaze into the shared room. It was clear that Jazper had done a lot to spruce up the area, having moved furniture about and setting a romantic air. One hand rose to cover her muzzle, hiding the gaped mouth as she tried to take in the entire sight. Slowly, she entered the room. "Oh, il mio amore. Questo è bello." The Italian flowed from her lips easily, being her native tongue, as she hovered over her place at the table.

Unwilling to sit until Jazper was ready, she glanced over her shoulder, the gentle smile turning into her customary teasing grin. "You did this all by yourself, Jazper? This is very sweet; are you expecting to have some fun when we're finished with our meal?" There was no accusation in her voice; instead, the words were laced with sheer amusement. As grounded as she was when it came to their growing kids, Ghita remained a wild woman at heart and enjoyed spontaneity over carefully planned excursions.

Standing in the doorway he awaited her response with anticipation. He had worked hard for this. Inside the table had a smooth cloth to give the small table a new flair. Fine china was carefully placed with actual human cutlery, although he wasn’t sure she’d use them even if he shed her how. The wait had been long and exciting but now all he could do is pass the seconds waiting for her reaction. Stepping into the room behind her he placed his fist to his mouth, holding in a childish giggle at her amazement.

The Italian words floated from her mouth causing him to gush internally. Gods he loved when she spoke Italian. The Marino lineage had always interested him as a pup. He loved listening to Savina talk, the Italian made her seem so intriguing but Ghita had that special voice that drove him crazy. He had no idea that he held his own subtle Scottish accent which he had inherited from his parents.

Her reaction was exactly what he wanted, her jaw slightly dropped in awe. It took a moment for the English words to process. “Huh?” He questioned unsure he had heard the words at all. Chuckling lightly he walked up to his petite beauty and placed two large hands on her hips. “It’s a gift love. Don’t think to hard about it.” Leaning down he gently kissed her head and moved to the table. As smoothly as the big lug could he pulled the chair out and gestured for her to sit down. “M’Lady.” Tonight would be perfect.

Her amazement at the scene, and her subsequent teasing words, were replaced with a frown at the response she gained from her mate. It only grew with the gentle bump from his muzzle, as he just went about pulling a chair for her from the worn table instead of truly thinking about what he'd said. "I know what a gift is, Jazper; I wasn't over thinking anything." Despite her displeasure at his words, she sat in the chair provided. Turquoise eyes looked over the place setting, falling again on the gesture of affection left by her plate. It evoked a heavy sigh.

"This is very nice, Jazper, but we really should talk about Sophia." The fact that their daughter, disappearing act that she was, was still disappearing...well, it was concerning to the overprotective mother. She rubbed at one eye uncomfortably, watching her mate from her seat with stress lacing the blue irises of her gaze. Maybe she was the only one worried, and maybe her paranoia was (as others had said it was) uncalled for...but somehow, she felt it was right.

Oh how he loved to tease his girl. She had always been one to take a joke too seriously when it came to herself. The brute just smiled softly and nodded along in amusement at her displeasure of his antics. For the past year or so they had changed. Ghita has magically been able to stay at home most of the time, not opting to up and leave like she had before. It seemed the old girls free spirit was indeed tameable and that Jazper was capable of more than he had imagined. When he had been a young teenager he so strongly believed that the world was no fair and he would never have a family. Yet here he was, mister dad with five beautiful children all unique to their own personalities.

It amazed him every day that someone like Ghita could love such a boring man. She had always been one for traveling and exploration while he clung to Crimson Dreams lands, unwilling to part with them after spending most of his life in the manor. It was hard to imagine what life would be like without it. He pushed the chair forward slightly as the Marino lady sat, a frown on her face. He listened carefully, ears perked as he sat down across from her, his own face fading to a frown at the re-mention of their eldest daughter. “If it makes you feel better I will go find her tomorrow. I'm sure she's somewhere in Halifax again.” their daughter did have a habit of spending too much time in the city partying with god knew who. Glancing to his napkin he could hardly notice the sleek black container he knew to be hidden under it. Reaching for the container he pulled away the napkin and handed it over to his lover. “This is another gift.” Within the container was a very luxurious silver necklace with a turquoise heart dangling at the bottom, the perfect fancy thing for his Italian sweetheart.

He placated her by promising to speak with Sophia tomorrow, and she took the promise without complaint — she knew her Jazper would keep up his promises, as he had in the past so many times. She was the one who often had trouble maintaining them, for she would often forget or come across some sort of strong sense to do the opposite; promises were not her forte. But she, wounded as she had been in the past, placed all of her love and all of her trust in the large Rhiannon-Knight. He had never hurt her. She didn't expect he ever would.

A contented smile crossed her features, body leaning forward with her elbows on the table as she waited for a night of romance to begin. Though she was never too busy to pause in her day for her mate, she sometimes wondered if he avoided her throughout the day, and when she received a pleasant surprise from him it made her further appreciate the love they shared. Blue eyes focused completely on the handsome features of the Centurio, she didn't notice his movements as he pulled something from under his napkin until he handed it over. Confusion served to color her features, her body shifting to sit back up as she reached for the slender box. Another gift? "You're spoiling me, Jazper," she teased, voice filled with curiosity as her fingers wrapped about the box. The lid was lifted slowly, revealing the jewelry inside.

Ghita's features stilled as her fingers inspected the glossy turquoise pendant, her hand raising to press against her nose as emotion overcame her. "Oh, Jazper...this is beautiful, thank you." She returned her love-filled gaze to him, resisting the urge to move from her seat — he'd done so much to get the setting right and she didn't want to ruin the night for him by giving in to her impulses.

Sophia would send her mother to the grave one day, Jazper was sure of it, but today was not a day for that. The two parents often seemed to switch in their areas of concern. One day the Knight would be the one playing hardball and the next it would be Ghita telling off the pups for something. It was getting more and more difficult to keep the boys and Fia on the lands, as there were almost adults. They were able to shift and were only a foot short of their father by this point and still growing. It was clear that Ghita still worried for Sophia but the dark father was not concerned. She always seemed to wander between home and Halifax. Never had her scent traveled into another packs lands. Jazper trusted his daughter.

Waiting for his mate’s response he reminisced over where he had found the beauty of a necklace. It had been in Halifax of course, some old rundown house which appeared to have been quite the large place once upon a time. There had been a safe inside a back room, which had become very rusty. After some work between a crowbar and a hammer he had managed to break in and see that it filled with such beautiful things and he had taken what his bag could carry.

The silence came as she opened the box, shocked to see what was inside. His muzzle twisted into a cocky grin at her pleasure with the gift. “Only the best.” He insisted. Shuffling his chair backwards he hurried over to help her put it on. Brushing her hair to one side he leaned in and kissed her neck gently before taking the necklace and placing it around her neck. With a clip of the hook he returned to his seat. “Beautiful.” He crooned with a loving gaze. “Shall we then?” With a motion to the food the loving giant grabbed hold of his human cutlery, ready to eat.
