Cassie sighed as she walked along the shoreline. She was alone and she was getting used to it. She didn't like it either. She sat down in the sand and sifted it through her fingers. Coming from a more civilized werewolf territory before she came here, she wore clothing. She was wearing a skirt and a halter top over her optime body. She looked around hoping for some company.

Realizing the company wasn't going to come until later, she waded into the cool water of the ocean, it wasn't too cold for her, she liked it just right. She splashed some water up and scared off some passing fish. Laughing and giggling at them, they kept on coming back to be scared away once more. She caught one in her quick hand and put it back on the shore. She knocked it on the head with a rock and its stuggling and writhing body went still.Wiping the sand off of its slimy body and then washing it, she strung it up on a stick and started a fire. After a while of eating the deliciously juicy fish, She cleaned up the bones and entrails.Sitting by the warm glowing fire a lot of activity was going on in her mind.

She thought about what she should do with her life. Shall she find a mate and pack? Although from what she once experianced, life in a pack was no bed of roses. The work, the safety, and such. Rogues and loners such as she sometimes go mad after too long of a time with no pack. Anyone would go insane without the company of others. She sat there kindling the fire, hoping for the sound of footsteps coming to greet her.

Hello Smile

Axelle hadn’t been out to the shore in a while, actually since winter and in the winter it looked strange. Now that it was getting warmer, it seemed to be back to normal. It was May after all; the weather was warm enough for swimming. The water had to be a little cold, but it didn’t matter to her. She was in Secui form today. She was a little beefier than she was used to; her wolf body was so small compared to this one. She liked being in her natural form the most, and used her Optime form only when she needed thumbs.

The sand felt squishy between her toes. It was an interesting feeling, not one she felt often. Her heavy paws sunk into it slightly with each new step she took. The smell of a fire filled her nostrils, but she wasn’t too worried about it. From recent unhappened events, she’s learned to be less edgy about things. In this day and age, more civilized wolves were less likely to attack. Plus, she was on neutral lands; there was no reason to attack.

She kept walking for a few more minutes before noticing someone sitting at a campfire up ahead. Her body tensed a bit, but she tried to stay calm. Her heart beat picked up slightly and she stopped walking. No matter how much she wanted to kick the habit of getting scared of others, she just couldn’t. She quietly stood there and raised her nose to the air, inhaling, taking information from the air. The other was a female, which made her relax. She was afraid of males mostly. She took a deep breath and kept walking.

As she approached the other, she made sure she looked friendly.

Hello there!

If she could wave, she would've.

Cassie smiled as she heard a voice. Seeing a female was nice. "Hey hello." She called back. She was in optime and seeing the other in secui made her green with envy. She was unable to shift into secui. She smiled and said "I'm Cassie. What's your name?" She waited happily. She was happy to have company.

She looked at the femme and said "You seem kind of nervous, why? I'm not dangerous."Jokingly she dropped her knife to the ground and put her hands in the air. She squished the sand in between her toes and shifted to wolf. She wagged her tail and said "I am pretty happy you're here, I don't have many friends."

Tis okay Smile Why isn’t she able to shift into Secui?

The female welcomed her, which made Axelle relax more. She needed herself to see that not all her bad and harmful, and most of which that were to her are either gone or dead. Axelle approached the campfire and sat down. She wasn’t cold, or else she would’ve sat closer to the fire. She sat just close enough to feel it’s warmth, while still being able to feel the breeze too. She was also in talking distance with her new friend, now she knew as Cassie.

I’m Axelle. Nice to meet you!

Uh, oh. Cassie had noticed her nervous demeanor. She didn’t exactly like to talk about it often, but the answer was always a simple one anyway: She didn’t trust males. Axelle looked uneasy with answering the question, but she tried anyway and succeeded without too much awkwardness.

I don’t trust lone male wolves…. Some… things have happened to me in the past.

The Kemo pregnancy flashed into her mind. It was something she hadn’t thought about in a while and her gruesome act of burning the pups. She didn’t want them, and she doubted he would either, at least with her as their mother. Mother. Then Harlowe’s ugly face flashed before her eyes. He beat her, even when she was high and not able to defend for herself. He still beat her, and attempted to rape her. Thank the Goddess he didn’t. She was lost in thought for a moment, but shook the thoughts away and looked back at Cassie.

Lots of things.

Too much to handle. Axelle eyed the knife the female dropped into the sand, and winced as she waved her arms in the air. She was still skittish, she couldn’t help it. She quietly watched her as she shifted into wolf, totally skipping her Secui form. Axelle wondered about that, but said nothing. Maybe there were deep, dark secrets behind that as well. She felt more comfortable as she heard Cassie’s next words. She could relate.

Well, I’m happy, too, then since I don’t have many either.

She smiled at her, and then turned her gaze toward the burning sticks in the fire. Oh, how their crackle and smell reminded her of something so dreadful. She didn’t want to think about it, but it haunted her. Their yelps. She didn’t think it would still bother her to this day, even if she hated them and their father. She wished she could’ve burned Kemo alive instead.
