As the night fell, the pale moon provided little light for the male to see by; the vast trees that surrounded him blocked any light the moon reflected and cast him into shadows. It wasn’t his first time in the dense forest, but never before had he noticed how silent the place was; almost eerie. Every living soul seemed to have fallen asleep or were spending time in a less spooky place, and yet he had chosen to spend the night wondering the dark forest to simply kill time.

Since he had moved to Dahlia de Mai he had been slowly reducing the amount of alcohol he consumed on a daily basis and generally keeping a low profile. Maybe it was fear of being rejected or fear of causing a problem, but he found him distancing himself from his pack once more; but this time he planned to dig his heels in and make things work, to get to know his fellow pack makes and make a home for himself.

Despite how much he depended upon the burning liquid, he was surviving without it and now that he’d managed to give it up, he was going to go all the way and get his life back in order. Considering how he’d spent most of his time intoxicated, maybe that was why he had never noticed before how quite and peaceful the forest was at night.

A whispering sound; so silent that he almost overlooked it, reached his ears. It was the sound of running water. With a sudden impulsiveness, he altered his course and weaved his way through the dark trees and sought out the source of water. As he walked, he sped up until he reached a comfortable jog, crunching the debris that scattered the ground as he moved with little grace.

Eventually, he broke through the trees that enclosed around him and entered a small opening; in the centre was a small pool connected to a few streams. Through the gap in the trees the moons light filtered through and lit the place up, in contrast to the rest of the area.

Standing there, he simply took in the sight before him in silent wonder. Closing his ice blue eyes, he threw back his head and hummed a quite tune; a wordless lullaby.

Word Count » 394 :: Oh oh it's magic~ And the date is fine!

The branches creaked eerily above the pale girl, as she carefully picked her way through the forest to make her way home. It was easy to say she was frightened, as a small creature darted in between her fast-moving legs. Small sounds of worry came from her lips, blue eyes wide as she walked in the night like a floating ghost. Giselle's blue dress trailed behind her, her hands clasped to her chest as she clung onto the silver necklace that hung there.

"Oh.. Tux, where are we? I want to go home," she whined, brushing past shadowed leaves. No matter how enchanting a forest was, nighttime was always spooky to the pale princess, attempting to find her way home with the help of her brave friend at her feet. 'Elle spooked herself, at first, as a thin twig snapped under her and she jumped backwards, her yelp echoing around her. Cream-tipped ears flattened against her curled auburn hair, afraid that something evil would jump out at her at any moment she wasn't paying attention.

But her worried were suppressed, if even for a moment, as Giselle took in a sharp breath as she thought she heard humming, complimented by running water. A genuine relief swept over her face, knowing if she followed the source of water through, it would eventually lead her to the Dreamer's lake, and therefore take her home. A sweet smile crossed her pure colored face, following the source of the bountiful sounds.

When she emerged upon soft, mossy ground, the moonlight showered over her lithe form and the serene scene before her. Bubbling streams all merged into a single, dark, magical pool, its surface sparkling with the enchanting light of night. Giselle knew, in that one moment that took her breath away, that even a foreboding forest had its enchantments.

In the silence, the girl nearly forgot about the humming, which came from another wolf across the way. It frightened her at first, as to who this stranger in the night was; but his serene, almost-silent tune made her stay frozen in the spot. "Oh, that's a very lovely tune," Giselle whispered in the other man's direction, who looked like a ghost among the moonlight, offering a small smile. Her dainty hands remained clutching her jewelry, awaiting for the other's reaction to her possible intrusion upon the beautiful place.

Glittering water moved through the darkness, trickling its way into the pool. Moon light reflected down upon the water’s surface, making the liquid appear as if it’s glowing; eerie and beautiful, much like the forest it was within. The tune he hummed was one he’d learned, surprisingly, from when he was active within the gambling scene. One of the females he often played against taught him it; for the female lost the bet and had to ‘teach him something new’. Although disappointed at first for only receiving a song, he found that the tune matched this tranquil place so perfectly and he’d begun to hum it without thinking.

Another presence was noticed and panic struck him; he sang little in front of others and normally only in jest, now someone had stumbled upon him humming a beautiful tune in a serious manner. Unsure on what to do, he continued the song; it’s repetitive sound calming him some and after a moment of nerves, he was once more relaxed and over his initial surprise and panic. Cautiously, he peeked out of one eye to look upon the other; a beautiful, dainty thing stood off to the side of him.

Continuing his tune, he hummed it till it’s end in repayment to his compliment; the pale male found it weird for someone, especially one as pretty as the girl before him, to compliment him instead of scorn him and throw insults at him. Once the tune was finished, he turned to the other, hands falling to his side, open and empty in a silent show that he was not armed. Tilting his head, he responded with a simple “Thank you” his voice low and mimicking the calm of the area he stood in.

Turning his head so that he glanced momentarily at the pool, he returned to looking upon the other with clear, blue eyes. “Beautiful, isn’t it?” he asked, a soft smile upon his lips and his voice still low and calming. ‘This place seems to really rub of on someone’, the male found himself thinking, for instead of instantly attempting to hit upon his companion, he found himself complimenting the scenery instead of the pretty female.

I'm soooo sorry, I had no idea you replied! x_x WC: 307

The pool was enchanting, a stark contrast to the dark and seemingly foreboding forest. Her eyes reflected the gentle moving water, powder blue eyes alight with hints of yellow and green. But it was the music that led the pale colored girl there, and though she had startled the male there, he did not stop singing. Her own body began to sway with the music, eyes closing, Tux at her feet looking from his caretaker to the stranger nearby.

She almost did not notice when he stopped, and when he spoke his gratitude to the compliment she gave him her eyes re-opened. Giselle met the other man's gaze, temporarily forgetting that she was lost. There were times when it was a miracle she survived on her own when she did, with such a diverse attention span. The young girl smiled, mimicking the expression of the other. "It is~" Her tone was light, sucking in the cold air. "I had no idea such a beautiful place could exist here," She began, with obvious hints to her familiarity of the area.

"How did you find it?" Her form crouched at the edge, looking down upon it as if there were more to it. "It's magical.." Giselle whispered, brushing past loose strands of dark hair that fell to the front of her face. It was as if it took her breath away, a reaction that others would have briefly; but to a girl whose head was filled with dreams, it was like looking into something mystical. The white fur that was left exposed on her form seemed to glow, too, the closer the female drew to the water. A dainty hand reached out and hovered above the surface. 'Elle was almost afraid to touch it, as if it possessed some sort of powers of the forest that were beyond explanation.

“Strange isn’t it?” he stated aloud; considering everything else he’d encountered within the lands so far, none had held onto his attention and drawn him in to such a degree as the water had. Maybe if he’d spent more time within these lands, such a scene would not have taken his breath away and yet, judging by the others reaction to it and her choice of words; it appeared that she was rather familiar with the lands but was still taken back, a small part of him wondered if he’d come across a true hidden gem. To answer her question, he rolled his shoulders in a slight shrug; still unsure himself what had compelled him to head in to and stumble across the beautiful scene.

“I suppose I heard water and found myself walking towards it before I knew any better; it does seem to have a rather… ‘magical’ draw to it.” He stared at the water then moved his eyes upon the female’s form, finding it harder and harder to decide which should hold his attention more. Standing still, he watched as the other watched as her pale fur was lit up by the water. A stark contrast to the darker surroundings, it seemed everything around the pool of water was lighter, taking on a pure and peaceful atmosphere. “What brought you all the way out here in the dark?” he asked the other, curious as to why such a seemingly peaceful woman was alone at dark, surely she had some reason or maybe she was a random wander like himself.

“Oh, I’m Alex by the way. Alexander Collins. What’s your name, oh white princess” he flashed her a harmless smile, more of a grin than anything else; his playful teasing nature kicking in now that he’s gotten over the water.

Wheeee. WC: 428
OOC ending: Alex took it upon himself to walk with Giselle home to Crimson Dreams, knowing the general direction. She thanks him sincerely and they part ways.

There was no doubt in the young Dreamer's mind that the water the male discovered had something magical about it, and she couldn't help but smile into the reflection that she looked into. "Were you singing to it?" Her eyes wandered from the surface of the water up to the other man's face. The question was curious rather than strange - Giselle, too, might have sang to the magical pool. Then again, she was likely to sing at any given moment. She wouldn't have found his answer strange had he responded positively; she would have still seen this man as being appreciative of magical things.

The young girl remained kneeling by the water, as the other spoke. It had occurred to her that the magical pool had distracted her beyond manners of introduction, and she felt the blush of embarrassment rise in her cheeks. Standing and smoothing out the wrinkles in her pale blue dress, she looked up and smiled at the other male. She seemed to dismiss the title he had given her as a tease, but regarded it as a genuine remark.

"A pleasure to meet you, Alexander Collins. I'm Giselle Fantasia~" She spoke as smoothly as the still water before them, and took a step in his direction. As she approached, she watched how a slight breeze caused the pool below to stir, almost making the male's silver fur move and shimmer like clouds upon his body. The young girl nearly forgot she was staring, especially at the shiny things in both his ears, as Tux squeaked out. A giggle, and then, "Oh, I'm sorry. This is Tux, my brave friend."

The small creature settled upon her shoulders, ears and eyes still alert. He would not settle until they had reached the safety of their room in the mansion. The noises of the forest around them seem to creep up again, and Giselle shivered. Crossing her hands, she rubbed her bare arms as her ears moved back. "We were on our way home, to Crimson Dreams.." She began, finally answering Alex's question. "Until we heard your singing." An eerie shrill from something in the forest made her jump, and Giselle turned her head towards the dark forest. The worry that she had started out with on her way home crept up onto her innocent face once more. "I.. I'm lost, and I don't know which way to go." It was nearly a call for help - as the sky grew darker, Giselle knew the creepy forest would come alive and come out to get her.
