Mew's just been half-eaten/broken by Asphyxia (still playing that thread out but I need one where she's messed up a little) so I was hoping that's o.k. with you?

The house was rather large, and old. Naturally, it was old, seeing as it was from the humans, but it seemed as if it had been there for a while even when they were here. It was, luckily, not built from the typical concrete materials (dodgy stuff, and easily dangerous) that she had seen in the old large city in the former territories, but from big logs of wood. It proved more enduring, at least when it came to safety, but rot was eating it up, with no one to take care of it. Silently, Mew looked around, enjoying the architecture. In her current state, it made her think of herself. Good, sturdy, but broken if neglected. And she had neglected herself. Licking a sore paw, she wondered what to do with it. So, she had been stupid enough to wander into dangerous areas. She hadn't dared to find any mirror-like surface, afraid of what she might see. Her face was still throbbing, and so was her shoulder and neck. Legs threatened to give way under her, so she had sat down, but struggled to maintain it with her forelegs, having run too much and for too long. Adrenaline sure helped out, but it left you rather empty of energy.

With a whimper of self pity the female laid down, carefully adjusting her body so the damaged shoulder blade didn't feel too painful. Her normally so white and well-tended fur was more pale than beautifully bright, with a grayish color to it, as if dirty, yet she had taken a bath. Her face was bruised and swollen, somehow shapeless. Just as well she hadn't found a mirroring surface. In total she felt exhausted, and tired. Yet she had slept well, but the feeling just wouldn't let go. For some odd reason pains wrecked her spine as well, although she knew very well she hadn't damaged it in the fight. She didn't have the energy to think about it, and even though she was not sleepy-tired, she was tired in a different way. Sounds of rain trickled across the roof of the building, but it gave her no comfort now, like it usually did. She knew she wouldn't sleep, but she would just lie there until she did anyway, even if it wasted a whole day.

notes for self: Black Haw for the contractions: "Black Haw Root Bark (Viburnum prunifolium) is regarded as an especially effective miscarriage preventative. Black Haw sedates the uterus and can stop contractions and pain; its astringent, antispasmodic and tonic actions are best extracted in water.

Hanna had picked up on her niece's scent on the breeze that sliced away the sweet smell of the rain. Her freshly restored med pack flopped at her side, against her belt and trousers. She'd gone topless, as the wind felt so nice running through her fur. The ebony female had decided to track down her niece so she could speak with her since it had been over a year and a half. However, she wasn't prepared for what she found when she entered the house after Mew.Oh, dear Luna... Mew! What happened? Mew's face was swollen, as was her shoulder blade, and the latter seemed to be oozing a yellowish goo. The shoulder was definitely infected, if not the face as well, and Hanna knew it would only be a matter of time before the infection was too bad to heal.

Doing a quick assessment, Hanna found that Mew's ear was also bleeding, and though it wasn't infected, and wasn't bleeding badly, it still needed treatment. The elder wolfess opened her bag and selected three leather pouches, each of a different size and each with different ingredients inside. The first was willow bark, freshly peeled from a tree. Glancing about, Hanna found a cauldron and saw that the fireplace had been left stocked with wood. She pulled out her flint and steel and some tinder, and started a blaze on the wood. The cauldron was filled with water and then set to boil with several strips of bark and part of the second pouch, which contained calendula. A tea would be formed with these and the dregs could be used to make a poultice to be bound against the wounds.

As the tea mixture came to a boil, Hanna opened up the third packet, which was no larger than the palm of her hand. Enclosed was a tight wad of sticky spiderweb. She removed part of it and replaced the rest in its envelope. Stringing the sticky stuff out a bit, Hanna placed one hand gently against her niece's belly and pressed the webbing against the wound on the ear. There. That's taken care of. You'll be fine soon, Mew, love.

-insane rambling-

The white female watched, intrigued, at the other's actions. It was obvious she was making some sort of ointments or remedies, perhaps, but.. Well she was too tired to feel embarrassed by this. Normally she would have gotten angry, the shame of having been found like this, weak and helpless, but she didn't bother even thinking of it. She welcomed the other's presence, rather, too tired to feel much else than gratitude. Although, she hadn't thought she looked that bad, though judging by her aunt's reaction she blatantly did.

Mew laid still as the older female lit up the fireplace and started mixing different herbs together. It was a long time since Mew had seen her, aside from the pack meeting, and it was nice, in a way. Hanna was blatantly an openly kind person, even calling her love yet they had never spoken much even when she was a pup. The word wrapped itself around a little warm patch in her heart, despite her tiredness and pains. Mew had never felt much fondness towards family members, it didn't come as easy to her as others, but right now she appreciated her aunt's presence greatly. She felt so beaten that she really just wanted someone to take care of her, in great contrast to her normal independent mentality. Having still said nothing, Mew winced a little as the aunt put something - a spider web? - onto her damaged ear, and the ivory femme lifted her head up from its position on her front paws. She should explain this. Her voice didn't sound nearly as tired as she really was, clear and strong. An inferni attacked me, I was stupid enough to wander into their packlands without noticing. She didn't feel bad to reveal her silliness, Hanna seemed as if she would not think worse of her for it. But it gnawed on her sense of honor. A lie would too, so there was no coming around it, though. This isn't really what I had pictured a possible meeting between us to be, but thank you. With a little smile, she made eye contact with the dark femme to ensure she understood that she really meant it, before a wince played on her face and she put her head down on her paws again. It was painful to keep it up, with the blows she had gotten to her neck, and especially with her shoulder.
