Instructions: PM your 3 favorite entries to
Erin or Alli
by June 10th. We'll tally up the votes and then reply here with the winners!! Big Grin!
[*]Spring Valley - Settled on the other side of the hills surrounding Rabbit Lake, Spring Valley has been created in the space between two of the many grassy hills that make up Shiloh Hills. The grassy green land glows with the color of vibrant wildflowers that scatter themselves across the valley floor. In one lone corner of the space lies a pond, much smaller than Rabbit Lake, fed by an underground spring and home to a few species of freshwater fish. A sparse trail of trees grow into a thick patch near the southern edge of the territory; this patch of trees houses the time-worn remains of a wooden treehouse. Though the childhood playplace has since started to fall apart, it would not be hard for a handyman to fix it. As the day progresses, the sunset filters in through a gap in the hills toward the west, casting an orange glow through the entirety of the Valley.

[*]Piccolo Village - At the south-eastern boarder of Crimson Dreams lays a small village where humans with basic needs lived. There is very little signs of technology however, there is a large library full of old books in the town square. The houses, made out of a off white stone, are all unique in shape and size, though the roofs are almost all a dull blue or red. Many of the houses are covered in vines with beautiful flowers blossoming and the hilly surroundings and many wild flowers make for beautiful green scenery. This is a simpler alternative for Luperci wanting to have a more private and personal living space. Image

[*]Boat Town - At the southern part of Rabbit lake is a collection of about 40 boats of different sizes and colors slowly falling apart because of time and the weather. Regardless of their deteriorating state the collection of boats is a very interesting sight for wolves. With a little work each boat would be usable and most are light enough to be carried by two Luperci. The boats are lined against wooden decks which separate each boat and have kept them from floating away over the years. It is apparent that humans use to live inside the boats as some have small bedrooms and kitchens containing human artifacts. Image

[*]Firefly Marsh - South of Rabbit Lake lies its thinner body of water, the vegetation getting thiker it the farther down one travels. Long shoots of marsh grass, from cattails to fanwort, envelop a good portion of the lake's surface. Some places are thicker than others, making one able to practically walk upon the water and over to the other side. This soft-stemmed vegetation is often used by wolves as a natural net to catch stray fish that wander there. Though the underwater growth here is thick, the water is remarkaby clean. The roots of the trees that border this marsh are thick; they rise, fall, and twist to make for small archways and hidden little places. In early spring, bordering the lake are marsh marigolds, beautiful butter-yellow flowers that add to the peaceful scenery.

Surrounding the southern part of the lake is an open field, seemingly untouched by man or wolf. The grasses here are lush, and can reach up to three or four feet in some places, complimented by small rolling hills. Fog will roll in occasionally in the early mornings, making the fields look like they are dotted with small patches of clouds close to the earth. A myriad of wild flowers dot the plains, mirroring the very colors of the sky: Blue irises and white bindweeds are entwined together here, only a few of the wildflowers that decorate this field. This field makes for an ideal spot to look up into the heavens and daydream.

What gives this place its name, however, is when nighttime bathes this portion of land. While the only sound is of the crickets chirping serenely among the fields, the stars themselves seem to rise up from the earth and litter the place in a soft, golden glow. These floating stars are the plentiful fireflies in the area, their light bathing every part of this land, making the place visible even on the darkest of nights. Colors seem to come alive at night in Firefly Marsh, as the glowing bugs move and illuminate the colors of the world. Soft pinks, greens, yellows, and blues play off the lake's surface and illuminate the fungi-lined trees, make this place a beautiful spot by day and by night. Image

[*] The Underbelly - The underbelly is the beachfront area along the southern edge of the lake. While the name suggests it is a dank and sinister place, it is not so. Along the south beach, several lake houses dot the area, many with piers still intact, though few of the rusting water slides are completely safe. They could be repairable or even replaceable and provide amusement for the youth of the pack during the warm summer months. Just off shore of an old public strip of the beach, a floating wooden platform still hovers in the water, though it is uncertain if the wood is rotten or if the finish keeps the water out. For those who move out of the manor, the houses here provide privacy but still proximity to the rest of the pack. Image

[*]The Training Yard - For whatever reason, this particular abandoned house was a treasure trove of weapons. Most of the guns collected in the house do not function as the previous owner kept no bullets on the premises. However, the best part of this derelict house was the secret in the basement, where the original owner had collected nearly a hundred collectable swords, several are fakes in some kind of plastic, but about twenty or so are made of steel. As such, the former yard has been transformed into a sparring ring of sorts, with grass stuffed sack dummies to practice on and to teach wannabe knights the meaning of swordsmanship. Image

[*]Wishing Wall - Somewhere south of the lake, close to the border to the southeast of the territory, a short, but tall, wall still lingers. Once it was probably a house, but long ago it had lost the rest of its body. There are many cracks in the masonry, and it seems as though plants have moved into large enough spaces. However, in some places ancient scraps of paper remain, the wishes of the humans. Perhaps this would be a good place to make a wish in a place where nature reclaimed land long lost? Image

[*]Apple Blossom Orchard - The sweet smell of apple blossoms lingers about this thirty acre orchard in early spring. Throughout the summer and autumn months, falling apples attract all sorts of large grazers, including deer, elk, and moose. The apples have grown wild for years and most are no longer the rich, sugary, plump fruits humans might have enjoyed--instead they are smaller, more bitter, and reminiscent of the apples traditionally used to brew cider. [*]Dale's Tackle & Bait - A rickety structure with a crudely painted sign reading "Dale's Tackle & Bait" sits on the southern shores of Rabbit Lake, though one may wonder if anything about its appearance has really changed over the past 20 years. Inside, various fishing gear can be found: poles, reels, wire, lures and hooks, along with some apparel. Outside, several half-sunken fishing boats are moored to a small dock. The area remains a prime fishing spot to this day. Image (original image via archer10 @ Flickr)
