OOC: Surprises to come through the whole mess of a perdyful thread ^^

Eclipse was bored. What was there to do in this place? For whatever reason the girl did not feel like exploring, or even finding out the secrets of Crimson Dreams. She felt that Dahlia was best for its secrets and many different things. She spent most of her time in her room or somewhere just outside of the Manor. That was where she was now, laying watching the garden in the back of the house wondering what it took to do something like that. Was it magic, did they know magic to put the plants in the spots like that and make it look so neat? Her mind wandered, trying to figure out how the plants got that way.. then how all plants got where they were.... if they couldn’t move how could new plants grow elsewhere? It was certainly a mystery to the little girl.

She lay in the warming grass feeling confused with herself, her new lands and now plants that grow, what more could confuse her? Whatever it could be she hoped it would hold off on its own. She sighed, putting her head in her paws and staring out to the green, and some flowering plants. Wondering the ways of the world, and why life had to be so difficult.

hi ^^ hope you don't mind me replying

The woman was proud of each flowering bud that unfolded to show its bright pedals to the great Sun. Each was a child that she had born to the earth in the hopes of it planting and nesting within the soil, rootting to reach up and praise the golden god, search for his black and yellow striped workers and dance in the showers of clouds. Anu knelt in the garden with her back arched and her her head low among the tall swaying grasses and the flowers that had sprung since Summer had come to their small plot of territory.

There was almost silent tune on her lips, though it mainly just resided in her head. She let her work filled her mind, pulling at the weeds that hoped to evilly choke the life out of its more beautiful cousins. Her basket was present as well, and other then a softly singing blue bird that often sat on her window sill and joined her here the elder was alone. Her bones did not ache in the warm sun, and she felt young and viable.

Though it still took her a moment to rise to her foot-paws. Anu brushed off her hands and began to walk through the garden, basket of dreadful weeds in one hand. She rounded the corner and saw that she was actually not along in the garden. The child she had accepted was there too. Blue eyes looked to see that she seemed to have grown large since their last meet. Good day. She spoke to the young one, wondering what brought her here.

Eclipse’s head lifted up as she saw Anu, she came to respect the woman, for all she was one of the leaders of this pack, but she seemed to know so much and had the aura of a woman who had answers. Eclipse sat up on her haunches but made little effort to move right then. She wasn’t feeling like herself and she didn’t like it, she felt queezy, and achy. She wasn’t sure why though and she hoped it would go away.

“Hello Miss Anu, whatcha doin?”

Though she wasn’t feeling up to much at all, her curiousity still panned her whole lifestyle. She saw the basket the woman carried and it looked like some plants, was she picking them? This made her more curious. She went to stand up but a wave of nausea came to her and she sat down again.

“Why ya picking those plants? Are they for cooking, or you like the look of them?”

Eclipse asked. From her perspective she thought they looked dull and boring, nothing but green, but others did like the color green so she would not add in her thoughts about that.

Blue eyes looked down at the pup, who was becoming more of a lanky adolescent then anything. The woman did not remember many of her days at the age of this girl, they were distant and hazy. But she remembered the lessons that had been taught to her then, the knowledge that her father had given her that still lasted till now. Anu smiled at the young one's greeting, her wonder a happy thing in the elder's heart. She enjoyed sharing her art and passion with others. I'm tending the garden. she replied simply, hoping to draw her in more with the little bit of mystery that remained.

There was a question, and she switched the basket's placement from one hand to the other. Ah, yes. These plants do not belong in the garden. Anu began, pulling a single dandelion from the bunch and held it up. They strangle the flowers I plant here, so I pull them out and send them back to the forest. She then pointed to the tree line, there the tall grasses were littered with large weeds. There was also a mound of old leaves and weeds Anu had raked and pulled through the Spring.

Do you like flowers? She asked.

Eclipse listened to Anu as she explained what she was doing and why she had the plants. The girl finally fought her nausea and dizziness to come closer. She could see that the plants in her basket weren’t really arranged. Then it clicked, this woman must have put these here. She MUST know magic!

“You can do magic? Is that how you got the plants like this? Can you teach me?”

It was the first time for a long time since her tail had been so animated. She smiled and looked over at the flowers that were blooking now, then back to Anu

“Yes I like flowers. They are pretty and they smell nice.”

She didn’t know the uses of flowers, maybe some plants, but flowers she just thought they were there to look at. Still being new to life, she would have a lot of hard lessons in store for her, as she was now expecting to learn the magic of how a plant was made. It had to be something, she’d read about magic. Her mother had taught her to read before she left, and Eclipse enjoyed many of the books, though she could only read some, and she had a hard time flipping the pages, but she kept up with the words and letters she was taught, but it was the books that gave her an idea and sense of magic.

This pup had a lot to learn, her thoughts seeming to run from one idea to the next. Anu smiled at the young child's question. She was slightly sad that she had to shake her head, for this was no magic and Anu wasn't one that could wield the powers that nature ruled over. Oh, she began, before she rested on the ground. She was not as strong as she had once been. It is not magic young one. It is the power of nature.

Anu had been planting since she was Eclipse's age, so for her it was only natural to think that teaching her to tend the garden was a proper idea. For the she-wolf life had been surrounded by those that cared for and looked after fruiting trees and flowers when she lived with her parent's pack. Why couldn't it be the same for this tawny little fey? I will teach you how to care for them. But it is the Earth that does all the magic. Anu added, before standing to lead the pup to where she had been working.

There were a few flowers that needed watering, and she had just transplanted some wildflowers. They do smell good, and pretty too look at. She turned the corner to where she had left the rusty watering can, spade and other few things that Anu needed to keep the weeds at bay and the flowers tall and blooming.

Word Count » 000 :: It seems like a crappy change hahaha.

Anu’s answer seemed strange, because the power of nature was like magic to Eclipse, she knew that the earth did special things, and for a reason, so whatever the earth did, made it seem not so much as natural but magical, like the plants, and the way the waters moved by the sea, or the wind and where it came from. To Eclipse that was magic, not entirely all the magic, there was other magics some that consisted of smoke other’s bright shimmering lights, but she said nothing as she spoke about taking care of the plants. She smiled happily, well she at least she tried, she was still feeling nauseous and dizzy, she went to follow the woman when she yelped in surprise, something was happening to the girl, and it scared her. She could feel a change, something inside her had seemed to ignite and withing moments, or what felt like quite some time, she found herself on the ground again, staring incoherently at her paws, but they weren’t so much as paws but hands.... She had hands... HANDS! Though she still felt the nausea she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. SHe had not thought about changing since …. well since before her father left her! This could be the best day of her life, the girl thought, then ideas exploded in her mind, still slightly shocked and sitting on the ground with her legs forward, the strangeness felt... natural to her though.

“Uh.... I didn’t expect that...”

She said quietly.

Anu had been focusing on the flowers, thinking about what she would start explaining first. She was always happy to talk about the difference between annuals and perennials. That was certainly an interesting topic, but then many like to know the names of the most colorful ones first. She had reached the watering can when she realized that she was not being followed. Anu took the few steps backwards and looked to see where Eclipse had gone off to. Had she lost interest already? Her ears must be failing her, for the woman did not even hear the pup's light body fall to the ground. She gasped, watching the wolf change upon the ground. Anu knelt beside her and she waited for it to end.

Eyes opened, and she smiled at the disoriented young wolf. Neither did I. She replied. Congratulations. Anu added. It was quite the milestone for any werewolf. Anu did not remember her first time, but she remembered the feeling. It would be strange, and yet it wouldn't be as if she was in someone else's body. Take your time getting up. Anu warned warmly.

Now she was embarrassed. Though the change was unexpected she had fallen because of it, and it was embarrassing alone. Anu had not seen the change but saw her changed. She looked up wondering if it was suppose to be.... more magical than this. This was like, being slapped in the face when one found out there was no fairies and they believed it to be entirely true. She did take her time getting up, but only because she was interested in the way she moved her body now. It was different yet, there was nothing to it. The little girl stood up and looked at Anu. She did not tower over the girl so much but she was still so much taller than her.

I thought it would be well... better than that.

She frowned but she was still ready to be taught how to take care of plants and plant things. She looked at Anu, sure to get rid of this embarrassing feeling and get to work.

So... how do you make plants grow? You said it was the earth, but i don't see plants in pretty rows like these ones are.

She said indicating Anu's garden. She liked the woman who had become her guardian but she kept her friendship at a distance knowing what could happen. She didn't want to have to deal with another instance where her heart could be broken once again.

It was different for them all, but in her experience there was not much to expect from one's first shift. The body was a magical thing, just as the Earth was, and her understandings of it were less then that of plants and growing of flowers. She could not explain what made them change, or how it happened beyond their skin. But Anu did not question such things, questions were for a younger wolf. She imagined Eclipse would have such questions. You will get the hang of it. Anu assured casually, and turned back to the plants as she noticed the other wolfess looking to forget her embarrassment.

Well, the gray wolf began as she touched the fragile stem of a near flower with delicate and gentle fingers. You can grow plants from seeds, and there are some that will return each spring after they wither in the cold She explained. Anu drew her hands into the soft soil, and took up a palm full of dirt and the flower with it. Or you can take a plant that grew wildly, and replant it where you like. But that takes extra care. She brought her hand towards the other wolf to show her the thin white hairs of the roots.
