Caravan-building time! Sorry this took longer than expected to post :x. This is for Taliesin, Sky, and Evelyn (for time's sake, we'll say they've all gotten together, introduced themselves, and spoke briefly about this project?), set near the edge of Thornbury, by the woods. Once everyone has posted once, the same posting order will follow. If it's been three days (without notice) from the following replier, the next-up will be allowed to post their reply.
This will only be the first half of building the pack's caravan, and in about a month's time it should be fully completed! Big Grin

Days seemed longer, more drawn out, for the coywolf. There were times he felt both physically and mentally drained, having to watch over the pups while Skye tended to her garden, or greeted new members, and other such nonsense. It was obvious Bangle was not cut out to be a father, for he even held the pups wrong for the first few weeks of their life. Though he felt a certain, unexplained love for his ever-growing children, who had begun to laugh as loud and as boisterous as he and develop their own personalities. The needs that they required in the early stages of life, however, left the male well unprepared.

However, despite the exhaustion, today was a new day... and a pup-free one at that. As the craftsman left the triplets in the care of their mother for the day, Bangle grinned with anticipation as the many trinkets strapped to his chest and waist jingled. The items made several different noises as he rounded Skye's house, to where Jack was tethered. The black and white horse nickered in greeting, and Bangle did the very same, finding the creature to have particular use for this day. Untying the horse's halter, Bangle eyed the makeshift carrier next to the big creature - the stilts and cloth that dragged behind the horse had proven useful in the recent days to carry large bundles of wood. It would serve no need today, as preparations were made the day before to have all tools in place. As the coywolf led himself and the horse towards the borderline of Thornbury, the craftsman let out an expected howl, too eager to wait until he reached the meeting place.

Patting the horse's neck gently, Bangle arrived at the scene and took a deep breath. "T'day's th' day, friend," he mumbled to the horse, who shook his head in mild confusion. The other three would soon arrive, and everything awaited them - large piles of wood, crafting tools, hammers, spare nails, and anything else the others might bring with them, as he did. Bright orange eyes could already see their project completed before them - a large, decorated caravan which could travel to anyplace one needed to. It delighted Skye to know that the pack could make use of a large traveling wagon, pulled by two horses, and presently Bangle rubbed his hands as they tingled to put the thing together. Too long has it been since the coywolf had made something so big, so imaginative, and (for once) the multicolored male was glad he wouldn't have to convince anyone of its multipurpose.

Evelyn is a very impatient person. >>

Impatience conquered over excitement as Evelyn’s fingers drummed rhythmically over the hard surface of the counter, counting the numerous seconds that passed over so slowly. Everything was ready; her belt was fitted with various tools, as well as her bag that carried even more, given the need for them. It has been only a few days ago since the group had planned to meet up, but it felt like months to the anxious hybrid; never before has she even attempted to make something this big, and something this important. Though this project was new territory for her, making a way of transportation, something she has never thought of creating before, it made her eager to test her ability, and to learn from the experience to better her craftsmanship. Going over this thought for probably the hundredth time that morning, the girl became more enthusiastic, and had to remind herself to remain in her seat until Bangle called for them.

Evelyn had gotten up early that day, her body too geared up to rest any longer when dawn finally came around. She had eaten a small meal she caught the day before to kill time, even tried to work on the chair she was repairing to take her mind off of the wait. But the wolfdog felt little interest in either, and started slouching over the counter in the main room of her house. The former store was soon coming out of its state of abandonment, and though it was still in a bad shape, the area where goods were once sold had been cleaned, and the shelves on the walls were slowly starting to bear things that Evelyn made herself. The girl felt proud of her work so far, but she was too distracted at the moment to mind that.

Almost as if the angels came down from heaven to call to her, her heart jumped, from sudden surprise and relief that it was finally time, she heard a howl that was near the town, just outside of its range. Though she wanted to rush to where she heard the call, she forced herself to simply leave her house calmly and start down the old street, though her hands shook with thrill. It seemed that she was more hyped up for this than she thought; when Evelyn entered the scene, only a coywolf and a horse were there, the two others yet to come, but sure on their way. “Greetings, Bangle,” she called to the man, her muzzle breaking into a grin out of pure happiness, her heart fluttering. Building was what made her soul; take away the ability to create things out of nothing, you took away the girl’s life.

He had taken the time to find books that related to the project they were taking on. Tal stood and stretched from his perch on the porch, from the rug he'd sat on to leaf through the books. He wished he knew what the tools were the book spoke of, the saws and rotors and sanders. But it didn't matter. He was gleaning the basic knowledge he needed from them, which was how to work with wood.

He'd never worked with wood before, only words and paper and herbs at times. This was going to be exciting, a learning experience for him. He left a note for Liam, letting him know where he would be, then set off at a good clip, a spring in his step. He wore a pair of carpenter pants with pockets in them. He'd acquired a hammer and a saw, and he carried these now, the hammer hanging from a loop on the jeans, the saw dangling from his fingers. He grinned at Evelyn and Bangle, setting the saw down. He was sure Sky would be here shortly. He glanced at the horse, approaching it slowly, a dried apple coming out of a pocket.

As the horse ate the apple, he stroked its muzzle. "Wouldn't mind getting me a horse sometime. Still don't know much about them, but they seem friendly enough." He grinned crookedly at Bangle, at ease with everyone.

Out of character text.

When Sky had been asked about helping out with the caravan project, she'd been ready and willing for the task, glad to have something extra to work on other than her boring herbs and cleaning. She'd gotten ready the day of the project, wearing a clever little outfit involving her new boots (courtesy of Daemon), a pair of leather gloves (fingerless near the claws) and of course her classic blue sweater (now stained and old, but still wearable for work) and her rough-and-tumble black jeans. Her hair was pinned back with a bandana and she'd taken the time to put subtle piercings in instead of her usual flashy collection of silver, gold and various colored plastics. Enough of her appearance though. On with the show.

She showed up a little later than the rest (obviously) because Casper had taken it upon himself to be as annoyingly needy as possible while she'd been getting ready to go. She carried a few extra tools with her in her satchel, just in case (a hammar, a couple types of nails, a few screwdrivers and a box of flat-head screws, amongst other basic things of course). As she came upon the scene, she grinned, waving excitedly over to Bangle. Hey Bangle. God was she chipper today. She even offered a friendly wave and hello to Evelyn, the girl she had yet to get to know really but had seen around the town plenty of times before, not to mention the original meeting to plan the build. At that time, though, she'd been quiet, only really talking to Bangle and Tal when she really had to.

Her good mood only increased upon seeing that Taliesin was already there. She grinned upon seeing him and trotted up behind him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders in a friendly, almost goofy, hug. Heey Tal~ She greeted in that sing-song tone of hers. Ready for some real work today? Sky's tone became teasing, devious grin curling her maw into something cynical. If you do good today, I'll getcha to help me make a pen for Casper at my place sometime. Sound fair? Or more fittingly, come back to my lair, little boy. I'll give you candy.

FFFFFFFFFFFFF. So I was such a derp, had a long post for this, and ended up closing the tab by accident ;_; Anywho, sorry this is short, I'm still on vaca, but thanks for replying so quickly <3. Feel free to do what your characters think they need to do, or speed things up as needed throughout the day. I found this and this to hopefully be of some help.

The coywolf's grin became wider as the members of the pack began to approach. First was Evelyn, another craftsman (or woman), whom he knew the least. But he knew she was just as excited about this day as he was. He eyed the many tools she had upon her arrival, and nodded approvingly. Then Tal was next, and Bangle offered a warm, wide smile in his direction. The white wolf had helped deliver his children, for which the coywolf would be eternally grateful. However, in his present mindset he wanted to get away from them for a day or two, and concentrate on the task at hand.

His hand patted Jack's neck as Tal approached the creature, and watched as the horse munched happily on the proffered fruit. "I didn' care fer 'em either, at first. But they're useful beasts, good fer what we need." The craftsman winked in the direction of the other male, watching as Sky then approached. Her demeanor was happier, much different than when she approached Skye's porch that night she returned. Orange eyes looked suggestively at the two, as the female wolfdog hugged the white male in a friendly way and briefly mentioned her goat. "Best keep yer pet contained, Sky," he said, taking a step or two away from the horse and towards the large pile of wood. Then, he turned his head back to them, beads jingling in the process. "N' yer goat too!" The coywolf then laughed loud into the clear sky, something he hadn't done recently with the family stress upon his now shaking shoulders, knowing the group would find good humor in his words.

As soon as his laughter had started, though, it stopped. There was a much more important task at hand. Clearing his throat, he looked at each wolf in turn. "'Elo friends!" He began, his mood already brightening with the rising sun in the sky. "As yeh know, we're 'ere t' build a travelin' wagon fer the pack. It needs t'be spacious, yet sturdy fer long journeys. It'll be pulled by two horses," he said, pointing over his shoulder at the beast. Jack nickered, as if he knew he was being spoken about. "We'll be lookin', perhaps even tradin', fer more horses. But in the meantime we 'ave one t' help us out. Jack 'ere can pull any heavy things, or help carry s'more wood if there ain't enough 'ere." Though the halter was back at Skye's house, it wasn't far from their location. Each of them had everything prepared the day before, but Bangle knew to expected the unexpected.

"We'll be needin' a frame first, n' there's plenty of space 'ere to set it up. We'll need large, flat pieces of wood t'start." Bangle pointed at the large stack, almost wishing he had drawn out plans. But he was no artist, he was a craftsman who built what he saw in his head. Rubbing his hands together, his grin became impossibly wide. "Any questions? If not, let's get t'work!"

Its okay, Noelle <3 Btw, you guys are free to slightly PP Evelyn getting some wood from the pile if your character asks her for it, so all of them don't have to get up every five minutes to get it.

She was not alone with Bangle long as Taliesin came in, feeding an apple to Jack, which she never really thought about doing. It made her feel a little guilty, not caring for the horse’s feelings, but that thought did not rest for long as she was easily reminded at the task as hand as she glanced at the wood beside the beast. She could have sworn that day, her hands were calling to grab those planks and a hammer, and just start building away─ but Bangle seemed to be the ringmaster here, and way more experienced, and probably knew how to build the caravan properly. Evelyn knew the frame had to come first, the skeleton of project, and she wondered what kind of design the coywolf had in mind. Whatever it was, the girl wanted to start now, but Sky had yet to show up, yet she did not have to wait long.

Just as the thought crossed her mind as she listened to Bangle and Taliesin exchange talk about horses, the Katruk woman appeared, in a happy and cheery mood, which made Evelyn even more excited and waved back in greeting; everyone was content, even better than that, and going to do something to help the pack, which the girl found to be the greatest thing to do. Evelyn caught Bangle’s comment, and at first it just made common sense, keeping her pet safe and contained. When he cracked the joke, it did not make much sense to her. She didn’t understand that he was remarking how friendly Sky was being with Taliesin, nor caught on the suggestive gleam in his eyes, but she let out a small laugh anyway, just to not make it seem she was being rude. Besides, the infectious, loud laugh was enough to make anyone giggle.

Bangle stopped his own laughing abruptly, and Evelyn was then yet again reminded of the caravan, and paid close attention to the male’s small speech explaining what they were going to do. Like she thought, the frame was the first thing to do, though the young woman did ponder over the horse ordeal, how they might need to trade to get a second one. Ideas were already drawing in her head as she thought about how she could perhaps do that, but she pushed it to the back of her mind as the coywolf announced─ finally─ that it was time to start. She herself had no questions, and remained silent, thought she brought out a hammer as a clear sign that had nothing to ask. Evelyn would probably follow Bangle’s orders when building the frame, since she had no idea how to so without someone who did. Despite this, she was pumped, already picturing the caravan and all its splendor.

((Poor Vannah can't watch youtube videos cause of her interwebs. But I found
This site
which has some good info too ^^; Sorry I held this up so long. D: ))

Tal grinned as Sky gave him a hug. His grin widened as she made the offer to have him help make a pen for her goat. "I'll make sure to do really good then." He laughed with the others at Bangle's quip. He didn't mind being known as Sky's pet, it was nice to feel this feeling of belonging. He hadn't felt like he'd belonged anywhere, like he'd fit in, since his mother had been expelled from Twilight Vale. He turned around and glanced at Sky. Dressed entirely different than the first time he'd seen her, she was still beautiful, and the nice guy felt his heart lurch. He knew without a doubt he was crushing on her, but he wasn't going to say that just yet. He winked at her, then turned to listen to Bangle speak. He gave the go ahead, and Tal pulled the hammer from it's resting place in the loop on his jeans.

Everyone had brought their own tools, along with the ones that were already out. Tal's tail wagged as he began to follow the directions given. He found himself playing more of a gopher role. Go For this, Tal, go for that, Tal. That was okay. He enjoyed helping, and being recognized for helping. In the past he'd always been more of a wall flower, the one whom most overlooked when important things were being done. He'd been a good hunter, but most likely to be overlooked when the pack was ready to go on a hunt. Here, in Cercatori d'Arte, he was appreciated for his talents and his knowledge. It was very nice, and a far cry from the other packs he'd been a member of in the past.

Sky's crushing haaard. D: Lack of concentration results in abused fingers!

When Bangle made his wry comment, she smirked, knowing there was more to it than just keeping her goat caged up. Sure enough, as soon as he said it, he turned to face them and added in her exact thoughts. He laughed that cackle of his just as Sky lifted her head and laughed her own musical notes, true laughter, bubbly and sweet, but still beautiful in some strange way. Truely a songbird.

What made it better was Tal's total agreement to the comment. She paused with a laughter-lit smile and looked at her white friend's face, seeing the sincerity there and smirking with a very soft 'heh'. As she slipped down from his back, though, he winked her way, a very charming gesture that had Sky's heart skipping a beat. For a moment she paused, almost flustered.
Luckily, Bangle started talking again and she faced back towards him, thankful for the distraction. He explained to them what their instructions were and she listened dutifully, her mind snapping into work mode almost instantly. Then they began working.

A few times, Tal would pass by, distracting her a moment. Because of this, her first few times using the hammer ended with chipped claws and bruised fingertips, not to mention the colorful curses she'd yelp out almost shrilly every time. She was thankful, though; the last construction job she'd done was the Barn. The whole time, she'd been tied by the wrists to Orin... during their heated rivalry stage. They'd been jealous over eachother for Shawchert's affection... and neither were willing to back down from a challenge, the stubborn gits.
