Shattered By the Shore

After a nice walk around Halifax Giuseppe was feeling refreshed. Perhaps this city wasn't such a shit hole as he originally thought. He had discovered many treasures within the city including a library, various value stores, and some fishing shops. His messenger bag had been filled with books about cave systems and the Halifax area, including diagrams that the humans had left behind. He has also managed to find a few lures, odd little gadgets made by humans to catch fish, along with a net and good sized fishing pole. Upon discovering these things the Italian man was feeling pretty good about himself and had decided to head south in an attempt at finding a shore for fishing.

The place he had found seemed to be dangerous. Sharp rocks lined the shore where canines could easily fall from the cliffs. This did not intimidate the stubborn coydog in his search for relaxation. No, today he was going to fish. Finding a spot on a large flat rock near, what seemed to be, a deeper area of the shore line, Giuseppe began to fiddle a lure onto the line with his thin fingers. Today was going well. The sun was up and warmed his short furs which were not covered by his white muscle shirt or jeans, and the sound of the water rushing back and forth from the rocky beach reminded him of his homeland.

Tossing the line into the water with a flick the coydog leaned back, a hand reaching behind him for support. Maybe he could be happy here, start a new life. He wasn't a suited for the harsher climates or labor as the wolves were but he could do his part. On the other hand though, he was still the same old Giuseppe. Having Matteo around reminded him constantly of the brutal beatings their father would give him and the bible that had been forced down their throats since they were able to speak. Teo made him want to feel in control and that need for power drove the hybrid mad.

(Back-dated to the 16th) Sorry for the wait ^^ (Nootau: Visible)

Well, she was finally doing it; Ralla was going to Phoenix Valley for a sort of... therapeutic vacation. She had already expressed her want to see the territory, but the opportunity had miraculously presented itself at that moment, in the falling climax of spring when summer would now be upon them. It was not getting as hot as some other places she knew, which suited her just fine since she was a winter wolf by nature, but it was pleasantly warm, and sea breeze was cooling. Walking next to Sugar, her gelding quarter horse--who Nootau was perched on quite precariously, she might add--Ralla was beginning to feel the same bounce in her step that she had had before Kemo had left; that same joy at just being outside, that same connection with nature. She was letting go and letting herself become more of the wolf she was before all the changes. I can be both, can't I? she reasoned. I can be carefree and responsible. At the very least she could try; the white wolfess wanted to be that type of wolf; one who was just herself. Still young, even though she was slowly gaining on three years, Ralla held a gentle naivete that she never wanted to shake. At the same time, she had to balance it with her responsibilities, but for now...she could just be silly and do whatever she wanted until she went back to AniWaya.

Giddy with released emotions, Ralla almost didn't catch the strange sight below near the seashore, which was more rock than sand. There sat a male dog, as it seemed, fishing. Now, most courtesy dictated that not every canine out and about needed to be bothered or greeted, but Ralla was also the kind of women who liked new faces and adventure every so often. And if he doesn't want to talk, he'll just ignore me. "Hello!" She called down, waving an arm as she smiled, hoping to catch his attention. She didn't bother to ask what he was doing out there; he was obviously fishing.

Moon walks. "Moon talks." Moon thinks.

It was much cooler by the ocean and the salty smell was refreshing. Often as a child his mother would take Teo and him to the ocean to help protect their little ears from their fathers business. Clearly it hadn't worked for Giuseppe had certainly learned a thing or two about business from Draco. As the breeze pressed against his face he reminisced about his lessons. Lesson number one: It's better to be the boss than the dirt bag doing all the work. From his current situation Giuseppe was still a little low on the food chain as far as he was concerned. He had managed to get himself into a specialization at least and he had wandered the caves a few times. Lesson two: Dress for business. Ever since he was little his father would insist the boys be all dolled up when addressing another important coyote or dog living in Italy. Here things were different, of course he still got into his best navy suit when the time arose but not nearly as often as he did back in Italy.

The final lesson was something he had learned early in life, a personal lesson he was sure his father already knew: Don't trust anyone. His own father had beat him to a pulp, his brother refused to believe their parents didn't love Giuseppe, and their mother pretended that Draco never laid a finger on him. He couldn't trust anyone and nor would he ever. His mind and heart were closed off to the rest of the world. Sure, Giuseppe could handle a conversation, and yes sometimes he could even act civil but inside he was tortured and believed that the world deserved nothing but what it had coming.

A call from behind him startled him from the memories of the past. Glancing behind him he saw a rather cute white wolf waving. As he moved to wave back there was a tug on his fishing rod and the rod came clear out of his hand. “Shit!” He cussed loudly as he launched himself forward managing to catch his equipment before it was pulled into the water. Jumping to his feet and gaining control of the rod he started to pull the fish in, he almost felt embarrassed about losing control for a moment.

Awww, he called her cute XD But damn, sorry for the fail-post :<

Although the other man began to wave, too, Ralla covered her mouth with both hands when he took a clear dive for his fishing pole when it was almost pulled entirely into the ocean. Before the man had even begun to right himself, the white woman began her descent down the slightly-steep hill--leaving Sugar to graze on what grass was about above--in case the man might need help. It seemed it was for naught, though, since he was capable enough to catch himself without falling into the ocean entirely. And just as well; although Ralla knew how to swim, she didn't know if she could handle the ocean currents well at all. She had to admit that the man's exclamation and almost-comical jump back to his feet was amusing, though.

She was a little ways off from the man--who she now noticed fully--and was fascinated by the mottled color of his fur and his build. It was a sleek form, and although Ralla was equally sleek in build, her fur was fluffy and long, while this man's was short. She realized that perhaps she had stared a moment too long before she gathered her wits about her. "I'm sorry, that was probably my fault," she said in reference to the rod. Her long white tail swished back and forth once or twice as some ocean water sprayed from the small surf to bead on her alabaster fur, but her fingers reached for her tooth and claw necklaces to fiddle with them. "Are you alright?" She asked out of courtesy before deciding to introduce herself, as she supposed was proper at this point. "My name's Ralla."
