Sugar, spice, and everything nice

Eclipse eyed the plant she twirrled between her fingers. She was memorizing it's properties and identifying it in a book she found. It was a very old book and there were pages that were too faded to see and others that stuck together, but all in all the book was still usable. She was laying on her belly, with her t hind legs in the air looking down at the book, which lay in the grass open to a page that had a faded photograph of the plant she had in her hand. She learned this plant was called parsley and it was used in human food to give it more taste. Ever since Anu showed her how plants grew she had been very interested. It was the book that showed her just how the plants could be used. She was most interested in the cooking herbs and spices, finding she could even grow some of her own. She was quite engrossed in her reading, though that didn't mean she wasn't paying attention. She was still alert to what what going around her, but she was still paying more attention to the book at the moment

Word Count → 420 :: Hay gurl hayyy! Big Grin

He had grown out of much of the awkwardness of his puppyhood, but that was not to say that Tony was done growing. Having just hit nine months a few days ago, his size was comparable to many of the adults within the pack lands, but it was nowhere near where he would stop. His father was a beast of a Luperci, towering over others no matter what his form. It was clear in his build, even as a child, that he would grow to reflect this. Perhaps he would not be as tall as his father, but Tony would certainly be a rugged man. Perhaps this was why he idolized his father even further than his siblings – he knew he had the ability to be something just like him someday.

Just like it had been every day that week, the sun was high over head and few clouds dared veil its glory. Tony had left behind the Manor early that morning, and gone out to explore the lands that had been his home since the day of his birth. He had no real plans in mind of what he would do with his day, but Tony supposed he might spar if he found a partner, or perhaps even go for a hunt. Whatever he did, the pack could rest assured he would hardly be idle.

He had traveled around the edge of the lake, running on four legs and pushing himself to a pace he could quicken no more. It wasn’t until he was good and tired that Tony finally came to rest along the lake’s shores. Giving himself a moment of peace to calm his racing heart, deep ochre eyes scanned the sparkling surface of the water. There was much beauty in the packlands, and he knew he would defend them will all he had. After a moment’s rest, the boy shifted to two legs and continued his stroll along the beach. After a short time, he turned and wandered deeper into Crimson Dreams.

Because he was a child of the pack, Tony knew most of the faces that called these lands home. This girl, however, was not one of them. Perhaps she could have been new here, but as he approached her, he did not smell the distinctive scent of his leaders, but an unfamiliar twang of something he could not name. "Who’re you?" He asked bluntly, something he had always done. Brows twisted to show concern, while deep ochre studied her and waited for her response.
