Rio was relieved to find her mother at last, but while she was out doing alpha duties, Rio was stuck around the lands somewhat bored. She didn’t know anybody anymore and was feeling kind of lonely. She wished she knew more of her family. Family was always something that would always be there when you needed them the most. Well, most families. She looked back on hers. Some of it had the loyalty, other parts not so much. Some parts of their huge family were cut off from each other, and others were close-knit.
Rio wandered around the lands, not caring much if she was inside or outside the borders. She wasn’t a part of Anathema, and didn’t know if she ever will be, but she was allowed permission to be here by Naniko. And Naniko was out doing other things, so she wanted something to keep her preoccupied as well. Maybe a new friend, maybe an old friend, maybe just someone to talk to her at the present moment. She didn’t mind which it was.
She wandered around in wolf form today. She wanted to be comfortable. Being in Optime for too long made her feet ache. Maybe they ached from all the walking she was subject to doing recently. Now that she finally found where she needed to be, she wondered if they would stop hurting. She wandered over to a large tree, inside Anathema lands, and laid underneath it. At first, she laid with just her body, but boredom and tiredness overcame her and she lowered her head to her paws. She fought her eyelids to stay open, but they won. She slipped into a light sleep underneath the tree.
The birds’ chirping made it easy for her to drift even deeper. Their songs were so calming, and by them chattering told her everything was safe. Quiet birds were something one had to worry about. They chatted away up in the tree she laid underneath, and she kept sleeping soundly. She kept her mind on what else was in the tree: probably squirrels, numerous bugs that she didn’t care to think about, more birds, maybe a rabbit burrowed underneath it…
