Character surname help?

Yeah, yeah, Kite is a-derping again. :| If this thread is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it.
Anyway, so I'm brain storming my upcoming character, being all happy in my happy place when something occurred to me; he doesn't have a good surname, and you guys know how wonderful I am at last names (Wood and Black, creative, right?). I know that its not required for a character to have one, but it seems fancy and a better way to identify someone in the vast lands of 'Souls.
His first name is William, so help me think up a good last name that goes smoothly with it?
Edit: I forgot to add, but I'm also free for Will to be someone's long lost cousin or something and get the surname from there. xD He's from the USA, so it could be a character from there?

is will gonna be the one whom Panda is adopting? If he is then he can always take "Behr" as his last name Big Grin

>> << Maybe is it. xD Yeah, it is. And okay, that sounds good; I wasn't sure if he should take on her last name or not.

She wouldn't mind Will taking her name. He can even take on "Trombetta"(venom's last name) as his last name if he wants to Big Grin

For random names, I really like searching through this for cool words in dead languages. Likeee... let's search "dread" for example. I like: rædan ("to advise") and adrædan (ontraction of ondrædan "counsel or advise against") both, personally. But I am a sucker for any name with ae or æ. >_> This is long as shit and has some really, really awesome and obscure-ish names.

If a character is emerging from a particular culture, e.g., Eterne, I try to find something that would fit with that culture, like for Eterne it'd be Nahuatl (Aztec language) words, Spanish names, and perhaps also the occasional Catholic saint.

This is more about culture/background than naming, but if you're interested read on. Tongue Wikipedia really does have a lot of interesting lists for just about everything... for an American character, here's a bit from Wikipedia's page on American folklore. Here are a few links I've collected that I found personally interesting: bloodstoppers, hex signs. :3
