Barn Sense

WC:429 - I want her to learn about the animals of InH so those who can effectively teach her are preferred. But, those who also want to learn are welcome too. Dated to July 18th

Rust hide gleamed in the afternoon sun as wispy tail flicked away the heat’s flies while horned head lowered to munch on the juicy mountain grass. The pup just couldn’t help herself as she crept silently closer to the big, burly bull. The ultimate play-thing! However, it would soon educate her if commonsense didn’t first, which of course it didn’t for the child’s mind was momentarily too simple for such things. At least she’d learn a valuable lesson, that is if the bull didn’t maul her into a fine pulp. But! Commonsense didn’t completely lack in her mind for the moment the craze-eyed beast swung his massive horns in her direction she quickly rethought her intentions. Although, it was too late now as the bull stampeded towards her with an enraged moo from his frothing mouth. Verloren quickly dodged and bolted toward the barn, the bull hot on her heels. She hoped the beast would stop once she reached the fence, but doubted he’d even consider a pause for the rotting boards. A slick smile then arched her agape mouth and she darted in a different direction.

The poor cow never knew what hit her when the pup dashed beneath her carriage, luckily her mate halted before mowing them both over. With a displeased grunt the cow lumbered away, Verloren safely tucked between her legs much to the unknowing of the bull. Once a safe distance away the pup left her shield to torment the other barnyard critters.

She first set her sights on the sheep and was successful in scattering them all about the pasture and barn. But, she turned out to be a surprisingly good herder – at least for a five-month-old – as she chased them back together. Eventually, they grew tired of her games and a few bold members dislodged her interest by holding their ground. Although, she wasn’t done yet as she then turned on their cousins: the goats. The two nannies ignored her antics for the most part and after many failed attempts at roughing them up she set her sights on the billies. However, they were quick in teaching her a lesson with a few well-aimed rams.

Bruised but not beaten she came across the last of the barn’s animals. Unfortunately, a wire-fenced gate stood between her and the chickens. Oh the temptation of those fine-feathered birds! With a frustrated whine the Tundra paced to-and-fro before the door before finally plopping down. But, she had yet given up as her golden orbs inquisitively studied the obstacle, a hungry lick running across her tawny maw.

Today was a day that was utterly unremarkable in any way shape or form. It resembled any other general day that had come before or might come after it. Not extraordinarily sunny nor obviously cold as the she wolf padded along her chosen path towards the barns and animals. And yet there was a certein mystery about the air, teasing the edge of her senses as always. Another day that was remarkably ordinary yet completely unique just like the ones that had come before and would come after. Around her thighs her knives were strapped, sharp and deadly, and encircling her neck the two necklaces swung back and forth with the gentle motion of her walking.

Her first inkling however that her animals had been disturbed was as she passed the bovine paddock. The bull was furious, tossing his head this way and that whilst angrily mooing and mock charging anything he thought would be something to chase. The cow as well looked distinctly nervous. This set her face into a frown, she hoped there wasn't someone teasing and tormenting the animals but as she passed more and more distraught looking animals she realised that it was so true. Now her face was set into a full frown and the female marched forwards with a hint of anger building up inside of her. She did not wish to be here and longer fiercely for her old home but she would not stand by while whoever it was scared the poor animals out of their wits.

Finally she came upon the culprit, a pup of about 4 monthish age pawing at the wire meshing of the chicken pen with hunger in her eyes.

"So, you're the one that had been harassing my animals and scaring them out of their minds." With her arms crossed over her chest and a stern expression on her face, Jace cut an intimidating persona especially to a small pup.

WC:209 - Nuh, sorry it's so short and delayed... =/
"(German)",, "English"
Table by Kitty.

In the shadow of the little terror the chickens flocked near the back of the pen with panicked clucks, while the more intimidated sought shelter within the henhouse. The rooster on the other hand stayed out in front of his hens and chicks and expressed his own displease with deep, rolling cackles and random-timed warning calls. But, all the noise only made the pup hungrier for their feathered hides—that is, hungry for play not food—and she began pawing at the chicken wire, her longing whines becoming just as loud as the rooster’s cries. It was to no surprise that she didn’t hear the stranger’s approach.

The moment their stern words touched her ears the child jumped away from the gate with a start. While, the following stance and radiating annoyance flowing from the patch-furred canine was enough to send her back another step or two. She’d been caught! Although, it wasn’t as though she were breaking any rules (or at least any she knew of). But, terrorizing the barnyard animals wasn’t exactly something considered to be O.K. Thus, the pup put on her most innocent of masks, hoping her big golden orbs and baby cheeked face would sell her out of any trouble she might be in.

Out of Character Chit-chat. (: 3+

The little pup's reaction to her words almost had her smiling but she cept her stern expression on her face, youngsters should know their place despite being young. But it was not her intention to scare the young female out of her senses like the female had been doing to the animals, the shock of being caught would be enough to encourage her not to do it in the future and so Jace's face relaxed somewhat although still retaining some of its sternness. And if Jace caught her again then a more suitable punishment would have to be thought of and the child's parents or guardian contacted, if she had any here.

Then the pup tried the world wide trick used by all young ones to try and get out of trouble and mischief they were caught at, innocent expression and large cute eyes stared back at her with a liquid golden gaze.

Jace kneeled down onto the floor, putting herself downwards towards the child's level, she clearly remembered being at that age and getting up to and into all sorts of trouble with her twin, but she felt the need to explain to this one why scaring the animals was a bad idea,

"You know why scaring the barn animals is bad? Because if they got out when they are so scared they could hurt someone on accident, including yourself and it would be all your fault. You wouldn't want that would you?" Her tone was gently chiding, mismatched eyes gleaming slightly with silent amusement, she wondered how long her telling off would have an effect on the brown and light toned child or if it would have an effect at all,

"Now that that is over, what is your name, little one?" Jace was a mother at heart and couldn't resist looking after any little monsters that she found, up to and including one child minded woman named Tawny.
