Set Fire To The Face On Fire

Haku had not slept for a few days now. The male was still painted with sticky and crimson blood from the night’s activities. Sometimes he managed surprising himself, and this was such a moment. The male was sitting on the magnificent beach, facing the beautiful glittering ocean. The sun was beaming down at him, probably knowing the drying sunrays would make the job by getting rid of the blood from his pelt close to impossible. There was a time for everything though, and every inhale was filled with the scent of death, a reminder of what he had done. He had changed back to his four legged form, his tail wrapped around his forelegs as it always did. Incredibly blue eyes in all the crimson stared absently at the calm yet wild ocean.

He did not fear followers, as he currently held a position a little bit away from the common and fastest route from Inferni to Dahlia, and the breeze was in his favor, so he was quite confident every being would have a hard time catching him by a surprise. Ears flickered ever so often hunting for sounds. It was the excitement and adrenaline that still clung to his body, it had gone so very well. The drama had been introduced, but it was not time for his next move just yet. He had to let it evolve naturally, in its own speed. He had to be patient, because he was waiting for something good.

Eyes closed and his head fell down on his chest. He was still sitting as if awake, with the exception of his head, but the crimson showered male had actually drifted into his own private world where dreams reigned.

The lady of silver and gold was a year older and yet nothing felt different. She had found two of her children and yet lost two as well. She knew that Icarus had been lost in the fire, but Moon had been kidnapped, as well as her mate Phoenix, there was nothing that could tell her where he was or what had happened. She wasn't so sure how she felt anymore about the tragity that had befallen their small family. She mourned for the loss of her son and the kidnapping of Moon and her mate but Kansas hadn't believed that they'd made it out alive. She shook her head sadly as she made herway along the shore. There was just too many things spreading her thinner and thinner.

She'd seen the glitter of something out of the corner of her eye that had almost startled her. Raising her head up quickly she squinted her eyes against the sunlight, catching the scent of a wolf on the breeze as she moved closer to the glitter. Shaking her head as she caught the scent of blood as well she became alarmed. The scent was a blast from the past, but the metallic overture of blood was even more concerning. Quickening her pace she approached the bloodsoaked male.

On soft paws she moved closer and closer as she studied the male. She knew his scent and yet she wasn't sure if she could place him. She remembered that it had been so long ago and he'd been so young when she'd last seen him, her memories just seemed to slip from her grasp right at the last moment when she needed it most. She sat there a few feet from the male staring in horror at the blood that coated him trying to figure out what had happened. Finally when her memory came within her reaches she blurted out the only name there could be. "Haku!" she doubted the boy would even remember her, but the horror of what lay before her was enough for her not to care too much if he knew who she was or not.

The scenery was black, everything was black. The first time he had become scared upon arriving, but now he did not even give it a second thought. In this place, he would forever be the trespasser. This time, the world was empty, and he knew very well why. The shadow spoke his name and enlightened him that he had failed. The blood soaked male opened his eyes slowly, letting his blue eyes slowly move along with his face to search out the female that had approached as he had shut all systems down. It was a Sadira, just like himself, but unlike her, his brain did not even bother searching for a name.

He disliked the fact that someone now had stumbled into him before he had gotten rid of his new fur color. It was not healthy for what he was planning. She was probably an aunt or similar, but family bonds mattered rather little these times. Blood was rarely thicker than water, no reason to attempt to pretend it when it was so awful wrong. He did not want her here, but the harm was done. ”Yes?" What was he supposed to say?

When he'd spoken finally after openning his eyes she had been alarmed at the only word he had to say. There seemed to be no emotion in his eyes and there was nothing she could detect in that one simple word. She felt her hackles begin to rise and fought her emotions to get the fur to settle down while she swollowed the uneasy feeling that was settling in the back of her throat.

Once more she swollowed as she tried to find the words to ask him what had happened. Her eyes trailed along the blood that soaked his fur until they settled back on the eyes, those eyes that seemed to be such a trait to the family lines. Finally she just exploded, "What the hell happened to you?" the words jumbled together as she took another step towards him. Then the scent hit her, lingering and faint, Inferni.

He watched as emotions rose in her. Who might she be. He slowly tilted his head as she threw out the unavoidable question at him, taking a step in his direction. An aunt. Sibling of his father, Lisichka. They had probably met, but his vision was always blurry when he attempted to look back behind his shoulder, so he did not even bother trying. Blood was so overrated. Get a few drops and everyone would think something had happened. Facts were that this time he had done something terrible, and quite possibly also unforgivable. Ashes to ashes, he’d say. Who was she to track his footprints and question him as she did. Sleep still gently nipped at his neck, beckoning him to follow with as he had personal business to attend to. It would have to wait.

He was discontent, and he wrinkled his eyebrows as she had taken that step closer to him, as if he had no idea what she was talking about. He was well aware what her problem was though. It was the blood all over him, the scent of consumed souls upon his scent. He liked the sound of that. His left ear flickered as a flea believed it had the right to settle down upon it. Did she want facts? Nothing had happened to him. Was that not obvious? Things were usually not so obvious for other beings as they were for him, so he silently forgave her for her ignorance. What did she know of hell? He caught something in her eyes as new information found its way into her nostrils. Very well then. ”Business.” The answer was short and simple, voice empty of any of the usual emotional crap that filled most beings nowadays.

He looked back to the ocean, then lifted his face slightly up towards the sun, flattened his ears and closed his eyes slowly, taking in the warmth of the beaming sunrays that caressed his fur,

She bared her fangs at her nephew as she heard the words that he uttered with no care at all. The silver and gold female's ears pressed flat against her skull as she glared at the male before her. She didn't care now that he was family, the way he was acting and the scent that seemed to coat every inch of him was nothing but bad news. She snarled at him as she spoke up, her idea of what his business was was nothing she wanted to think about. "Any business any wolf has on Inferni's lands is bad news for the rest of us." Her normally bright blue eyes with the gold flecks seemed cold and stormy as she took another step towards him, not in concern for him anymore though.

She didn't care that her heckles were raised anymore as she stared at him, they were almost the same height, but her horror and anger at the words he spoke made her seem larger than she knew she was. She didn't know what in the world had happened to the pup she once knew but it was obvious that he had changed a great deal. A growl rose in her throat as she met his eye, "What the hell kind of business was it Haku!" she spat the words at him, the uneasy feeling growing in the pit of her stomach already telling her what kind of business it was.

Eyes opened yet again and watched the female wolf take a first step into a rage within her heart. Her fangs displeased him further, and his gaze turned cold, a bizarre achievement for warm baby-blue eyes. Was that a threat? Was she threatening him? She was more right than she knew, bad bad business for the wolves. He got up on all four, turning slightly around, facing her properly in case she would make a foolish move. He was no pup any longer, but a fully grown male, matching her in size and a bit more. He did not copy her body language, just kept a cold, disapproving stare at her. A growl reached his ears, and he now considered the wolf in front of him quite hostile and impolite. She had business with what he did, and it bothered him that she meant she had that privilege.

There the word ’hell’ popped up again. Such language, such use of the language. Iskata. There the name popped up from nowhere, and he knew who had dug it up for him. So considerate. His appearance at the moment should be speaking loudly enough without words. A picture could tell more than thousand words, was that not a fitting quote in this setting? ”My kind of business. Not yours, dear Auntie.” He was a bit unsure of how to dismiss her, as she seemed to be quite inflamed because of what she saw and the thoughts she was getting out of it.

The look he gave her reminded her of her wayward son DaVinci. So many times he'd challenged her because of their past, but atleast DaVinci had a reason for being angry with her. She wasn't sure what Haku had been up to but she planned to find out, if he wouldn't tell her she'd find out on her own, but she wanted to hear it from him. "It will become my business faster than you think.." she hissed at him as she watched him move to face her. She wasn't about to back down until she got some sort of answer, no matter what the cost.

She lowered her head slightly as she met his disapproving glare and held it. "Tell me what started such need for your business, sonny.." She hated to believe that one of her blood would just cause such needless bloodshed for no reason at all. He had to have a reason, any real reason she could take. She probably wouldn't agree with it, but then again he didn't know what Inferni was like. "Haku, whatever you've done you're going to regret." She had a feeling it was starting all over again and she didn't want to even remember the first time. She needed to know.. but she was afraid to.

She snarled at him, still not accepting that this had nothing to do with her and that she had no right to know. Oh, how bothersome. It would have been easy to take some action and get rid of the whole annoyance, but it was family, and he did not want to receive any injury. Why go dig deep and search for trouble? He failed to understand that, but she wanted it her way, and she seemed to want to be stubborn and annoying. This was obviously not a relative he would be fond of in the future, and the same could probably be said the opposite way as well. Nevertheless, he would share nothing of what had started this little mess, but if she so insanely wanted to, then he could give her the short version of his beautiful work of art.

Her words seemed to be ignored, but it was only his lack of reaction. ”I killed a coyote and her little child.” A smile appeared in his handsome face, as the scene from last night was replayed. ”It is odd how much blood you get when you really slice them up.” The smile suddenly fled from his face. Okay, he was disturbed, he realized it just as he said it, and he regretted the words he had let slip past his lips. It was not his fault, it really wasn’t, he would never have done something like that? Or would he? Why was the blood all over him if he had not done it? He had, he had committed a cruel crime. His ears flattened fully and a childish despair came over him, pulling him down, filling his blue orbs. ”Don’t tell mom!”

Mom? Colibri? She did not love him anymore, she had not loved him after his evil twin had taken his place and hurt her. It wasn’t him, it hadn’t been him, he would never have hurt the white pelted goddess with the sad, color lacking eyes.

The words struck her like a slap to the face. She backed away from him as a numbing cold seemed to spread through her entire body shaking her head as she tried to rid the words from her memory. He hadn't really said those words, he hadn't. She tried to make herself believe it but she knew what she'd heard and she knew what it meant. He'd killed a mother and child on Inferni's lands, the only thought that came to mind was just who had become a mother for the first time in Inferni, Faolin. Fear shown in her eyes as she backed away from him, shaking her head as she tried to fight back the emotions that were taking over. "No, you didn't. You couldn't have..." she said, the words barely a whisper as she stared at him, the smile that light his face then flickered away so quickly scared her worse that the truth he'd admitted.

Something was wrong with the boy and it was more than obvious with the next words he said. The wail of a child who knew they were caught doing something wrong, begging to be let free and not punished. She took another step back and swollowed her fear, wanting to get away as fast as possible, but not sure if she should leave him here like this. She wasn't sure of what he could do or what he would do if she thought he was going to tell his 'mother'. She shook her head and gave in, hoping that she wasn't wrong about this sudden change in him, hoping that treating him like a child wasn't going to land her down the same path as the slaughtered coyotes. She shuddered as she tried to push the thought away, it couldn't be Faolin, there was no way..

She moved a step closer to him and made soft shushing sounds, trying to calm her nephew with her voice before she continued. Her soft sounds ended after a moment as she spoke up, her words a gentle coo, "I won't tell her..." she said as she scooted closer to him, seeing the despair in his eyes as she continued. "..If.. you tell me what started this all.. I'm sure there was a good reason behind it.." She hated herself for even suggesting that there was a good reason for killing an innocent child. Moving a step closer she smiled weakly at him, "Com'mon, you can tell your Auntie..." ...She hoped to god there was a reason behind it, but then again she didn't want to know.

Something had gone terribly wrong. Haku watched as his aunt had stepped away from him, and he was confused and ashamed of the blood that clung to him and let a terrible aroma center around him. It was terrible. The relative then came closer again, but she was much less frightening now than she had been earlier, teeth bared and so so so angry with him. She could not be angry with him, it was not possible, not him not him. Her words were so soft and comforting, and she would not tell mom. Such wonderful news. He stuck his tail between his legs and looked up at the female with great sorrow in his face. This had started out as a game, but Haku did no longer want to play games. Iskata wanted him to tell her what had started it. Haku nodded eagerly as she spoke, of course, he would tell her everything, she was his aunt, she would protect her from the dark that he could not see, only hear.

”My sister was beaten up by a coyote, and I .. I met that coyote, but she is not dead, but.. not.. Them..” His voice had been steady in the beginning, but it broke up. He was a bit upset, yes, but images were disappearing from his mind. Someone was busy cleaning up the streak of blood behind him that lead to the reasoning for the bloodbath.”I don’t know. I didn’t do it.” Maybe this was another of his many nightmares. He had been sleeping for a long time, and the world was suddenly completely different, and he himself had changed with it. He was confused and unhappy, He just wanted to feel someone warm against him and be loved. He lowered his body a bit, almost crunching, and started moving towards her, his whole figure submissive, as a child that had done something wrong and begged for forgiveness.

He just wanted to be taken care of now when everything was over.

She watched as the new version of Haku seemed to emerge before her, afraid of everything around him, except her. She knew she shouldn't use that to her advantage, but she had to know, she had to find out what had really happened. The lady of silver and gold seemed to be playing a part now, she was concerned for the male before her, something was seriously not right inside him, but she was afraid for herself too. If she played the part wrong she could be in serious trouble and no one knew where she was.

When the words emerged from his maw she shushed him, trying to ease away the overflow of emotion that was breaking through the boy's defenses. Her words were soft when she asked her questions and gentle and soothing when she tried to comfort him. "Which one of your sisters was attack.. why?" she asked as she watched the changes occurring in the boy. She swallowed the fear that was trying to bubble up as he admitted that the two were dead, but going on to say he hadn't killed the one responsible when obviously he'd had the chance to. "Why did you go looking for her attacker?" She kneed her brows together in worry as he tried to plea, begging for believe that he hadn't do it.

When he moved towards her in such a sad pathetic way she felt the fear nearly overwhelm her as she realized she couldn't turn and run. She was too afraid to try, and she wasn't sure what he would do if she did. He scooted right up under her chest, seeming to make himself so small, like an innocent little pup just begging for comfort from the night. She knew her muscles were quivering but she raised her foreleg and brought her paw to rest on his shoulder as she cooed softly in his ear, trying to keep her voice steady, "It's okay baby, we'll straighten this all out.." over and over she cooed, trying to convince herself more than him anymore, all the while her silky cream and silver underbelly growing bright with the sticky transfer of blood that had yet to dry completely. She wondered just what she'd got herself into this time, knowing nothing good was going to come out of this.

She was so calming, that angel of an aunt in front of him. She was safe, she was home, she was everything. He found sanctuary under her face, and cuddled up close against her, and she even placed her paw on his shoulder. The warmth comforted him, and he knew nothing of her fear as he stuck his muzzle halfway into the fur on her shoulder, sniffing in the smell of something safe, of home. He closed his eyes. She asked so nicely and he wanted nothing else but to give her all the answers she wanted and more, he would do anything. Why did he look for an attacker? What attacker? Had someone hurt one of her sisters?

Blue eyes opened and he peered up at her, so confused and sad because he did not understand. Was Mew or Melisande hurt? Who would hurt them? She said it was all right, but things were not okay at all. He was afraid of the dark, afraid of the dark creatures that told him to play hide and seek. He did not like that game any longer. Sister attacked, he had gone looking for attacker? He furrowed his browns and closed his eyes again, trying to think. A light headache started throbbing along with his heartbeats. It was Mew, white fur and green eyes, sad eyes. So sad, she had lost something. Yes, he remembered something.

He whimpered quietly into her fur as the headache increased. ” Mew had lost her babies?” He shivered and tried snuggling closer to her, but he was too big and she could not cover him up, he could not hide anywhere. ” So sad, torn.. The coyot.. ” He could see no coyote, what had he done? He tried to think harder, but the images were so so so soo blurry, and his whole head hurt as if someone was chewing on it. ”My head hurts.” It hurt, it hurt, he was being bad, it was not his business. He whimpered a bit louder, and buried his face deeper into the soft fur.

OOC-I'd figure after she gets him to sleep or something she'd leave to go see what happened in Inferni, when returns he's gone?

IC

Iskata held steady as the younger male tried to crawl underneath her, trying to snuggle up close like her own puppies had done when they were small, but he was no puppy. Something inside him seemed to hold onto the grasp that he was small ,that he was innocent and he needed protected. She wasn't sure what had started this but she knew nothing good could come from it. She shivered against the breeze that whipped across the beach, bowing her head low over his own as she tried to give him some comfort, wishing she had someone to comfort her in this new nightmare she'd fallen into.

She heard his small voice breaking up as he spoke once more, she moved closer to try and catch each words as she began to understand what had happened. Mew had been carrying when she'd obviously been attacked, losing the puppies soon after. She frowned and wondered if this tragedy had caused the ugly scene that Haku had left behind in his wake. "I'm sorry hon', so sorry.. She'll pull through though?.." She hoped for the lot of them at nothing besides the loss of pups had happened to Mew resulting from the fight. She shook her head as she looked over Haku's shoulder towards the distant shore where Inferni lay.

The quiet sad voice below her whimpered as she sat there staring off in the distance, when she realized what it was he was saying she bowed her head low again and cooed softly in his ear, "Let's get you cleaned up baby, then you can sleep.. everything will be better after a nap.." She hoped that everything would be better, though she was also worried being so close to Inferni's lands that they would follow him along the beach. She wanted to get him into the forest and clean him up, atleast then it'd be harder for them to know who he was if they already did. She shivered as she tried to understand what she'd got into now.

Yes Mew would be all right, she always was all right, she was his sister after all. Things happened with other families, but not with his, it was just how life was. The child’s mind could not completely grasp the cruelty of the real world. As long as he was here, and a family member was so close, everything was all right. The dark could not get to him as long as he was under Iskata’s protection. She spoke softly, and Haku nodded, baby blue eyes filled with water. He wanted to get rid of the foul smell on his fur. He backed out of her lovely embrace, and looked up at her, making himself as small as he could, ears still flattened and the tail between his legs and his eyes looking up at her. He nodded to her.

The headache was still there, and he was so unhappy, and he grimaced slightly and blinked confusedly. Why did it hurt, he had not hit his head as far as he could remember. A metallic taste was noticed on the back of his tongue, and he suddenly lowered his face to the ground and coughed hard, drops of his own blood mixing together with the soft sand. He was not hurt, he did not understand it. The child had a slight idea of what had caused it, and it struck him with fear. He attached himself to Iskata’s body, sticking close to her side, as a little child on an unknown place following its mother. ”What if the boogey man comes back when I sleep?” He couldn’t control his voice, so it cracked up into a childish cry in the end. He was afraid of the monsters.

She felt the nervousness building inside her as she realized that she could probably tell the child anything and he would trust her without a second though. She watched as he agreed wholeheartedly that Mew would be okay, she hoped for their own good that the assumption was correct, as much as he cared about his sister if anything went wrong again she was sure they'd all pay the second time. Haku pulled away from her and seemed to shrink into himself, so helpless and broken, she wasn't sure what she was going to do with the boy, she couldn't watch over him all the time, he wasn't even her responsibility either.

She shook her head as the cream and chocolate boy seemed to stick to her side like a burr. He almost seemed underfoot as she nudged him along towards the woods. She knew exactly where there was a nice quiet pond that she could clean him up at and make certain that he was able to rest. She almost wished she had a way of keeping him locked up tight where he couldn't hurt anyone else.. she hoped this was just a one time thing, god she hoped with all her heart.

Raising her head up she shook her head as he asked her questions about childhood frights. She shushed him softly as they moved towards the woodlands, her voice soft and quiet as though she didn't want anyone to hear them. "He wouldn't dare come back with me here.." She wasn't for certain about that, but she wished it were true. If she had to keep him a prisoner latched onto her side to keep the horror from returning she would but she knew it was never that easy.

She brought him away from the pretty beach and into the forest. nudging him along had not been needed, as he would stick to her like a blood feeding bug. Right now Iskata was the being that held his whole world in her hand. She was an adult and not only that, but also his father's sister, and she was to be highly respected, and he would do whatever she said, because she was Iskata Sadira. His body visibly relaxed more as she told him that the bad shadow would not come back. If she said so then it had to be true. For the first time he felt an uncertainty rise within, but he decided to trust in her words as best as he could. He had no other choice, really.

They arrived at a pond and he peered curiously down into the crystal clear water. A frog was spotted by baby blue eyes, and less than half a second after he had jumped into the shallow water, jumping after the little thing that paniced straight away. It was only a child's play, but he was old enough to understand pain and death, and made sure he did not actually harm it. The headache forced him to end the jumping about, and he returned to Iskata, and waited for her to help him get rid of the red liquid that stained his pelt. He blinked slowly and closed his eyes, It had been such a long time since the world had seemed so real to him, and he felt exhausted in a creepy and mental way.

A nap would be good. Good good good, and Iskata would make sure no scary monsters would come and hurt him and drag him into the nightmares again.

The walk to the pond had been silent except for his small whimpers and the gentle coos she made in response. It seemed forever before they had made it to the calm peaceful spot, Iskata was alert for the eyes of anyone, not wanting herself or the boy to be seen in this state, she relaxed a tad when she realized that they truly were alone. She stepped back as pace as Haku approached the water and gazed down at the reflection staring back. She wondered just who he saw, the child within or the killer lurking in the shadowy background. She sat quietly pondering her own thoughts while he studied whatever it was in the bottom of the pond that was there.

When he lept into the water she almost startled and lept after him, but then she realized that there was something almost playful in his behavior as he splashed about slightly. After what only seemed like a few moments he turned back towards her and stood in the shallows. She moved forward with a dip of her head and joined him in the waters. His pelt was soaked through but the water wasn't enough to wash out the blood that had been dried out in the sun after so long. She rubbed the matted fur until the friction and water started to break apart the clotted blood and she watched as the waters soon turned pink with the residue of what had once been the life running through innocent veins. Iskata didn't say anything but the tears began to dampen her fur as they made a trail down her face and joined the blood tinted waters.

It had taken her far too long to clean out the blood from his pelt, she knew there was no way whoever he'd killed was presentable in death. A shudder rang down her spine as she nudged Haku from the waters, sighing softly she spoke lightly to the boy, "Let's get you dried up now and you can get some sleep, I can tell you're tired.." After what he'd done of course he'd probably be tired. She pushed and nudged him up onto the sandy bank where the sun was pouring down through the trees. She sat beside him as she began to groom his fur, trying to full up his pelt as the sun helped her to dry Haku's pelt, though she'd washed the blood from his pelt she could still taste and smell the metallic liquid.

I swear I replied to this a few days ago? :o.. Well, I suppose this one is done now!

The child closed his eyes and gave a purring sound as the female rubbed his fur and got rid of the worst stench and the red color. He made it difficult for her, leaning against her and snuggling against her whenever he could. His tail wagged cheerfully despite the constant headache, and he was showering her with tainted water without any second thoughts of the troubles it may gave her. Then it was up to the shore to lie in the sun while she was grooming his fur. He stretched out next to her and just enjoyed the whole treatment while it lasted. His blue orbs vanished behind eyelids, and he relaxed completely, knew that no where would be more safe and comfortable than here. The murders had been erased from the child’s mind, and there were no worries in the world as it was.

His thoughts slowly drifted away, and along with them also the throbbing pain. His breath became heavy and rhythmic, a safe sign that he had drifted off. Darkness consumed the child, and in the dark, no one would hear him scream. The demon was real, and there was no Iskata to save him.
