Blood stained sheets

for sunny Big Grin

The man dropped to his knees, the coughing racking him to his core. His side was killing him as he hacked up puddled of bile and blood, staining the grass beneath him crimson. Blood and spittle flecked his chest and muzzle and the man found it a struggle to breathe, his own pride had got him this far and now it was letting him down enormously. Since the guardian had pinned him to the floor he had been coughing up blood with alarming frequency, the man was beginning to feel dizzy and lightheaded. He sat back and leaned against a nearby tree trying to stop the black at the edge of his vision from creeping any further in.

Even if they beat him for his treachery he would never give in and obey that fake chief that had been sent int to dictate them all. But the man wasn't sure how much more injury he could take before his body gave out and failed him. He stared up at the leaves of the tree behind him and let his mind wander, uncaring of how close to death he actually was.

thank you! <3 could we foredate this a bit, maybe a few days? day before the thread, element was in halifax, so it might be a bit unrealistic xD

After the plethora of new people Element had met recently, he decided to take a break and go back to the haven he remembered one of the packs being - AniWaya. The softly shimmering grass, their supple stalks waving in the wind, always entranced him and put him at ease; the sounds and noises of the horses and the other animals that they kept also eased him, and the entire place made him feel wonderfully at home.

It seemed, though, that something was wrong; as he approached the borders of the pack, there was a sense of anger and tenseness in the air, not unlike that of a wolf's emotions. He warily wandered inside the pack, sensing the tension in the air even stronger than before, until it was also wrought with the scent of blood and a familiar smell - Leon, the wolf he had met not too long ago with his daughter in AniWaya.

Racing towards the scent, he found the man on the ground, coughing and covered in blood. He tried to sit up and lean against the tree, and was now looking up at the leaves. Horrified at the scene, Element padded over quickly.

"Leon!" he exclaimed, unable to take his eyes off the blood. "What's going on?"

He had almost dozed off completely by the time element arrived upon the scene, floating in a world that was not quite reality and not quite fantasy, it was all very surreal. His head lolled drunkenly upon his shoulders as he continued to stare up at the leaves. The sound of someone speaking to him brought the man partially out of his trance like state and he became aware that his facial wounds were leaking blood again, with a sigh he reached up in an attempt to wipe it away but succeeded only in smacking himself in the face, instead the blood was wiped off onto his shoulder.

His head jerked and eyes refocused on the black cat he had met with his daughter, the name of him escaped the Austral man so he settled on a painful looking smile that was supposed to be welcoming and a quiet "Hey." He groaned as more pain shot through him and then tried to answer the question as best he could, hi speech was constantly interrupted by coughing, groans of agony and scary sounding gurgles,

"Couple of days ago or so a council man and his guardians arrived from the great Tribe and took over Aniwaya, Dawali was demoted to Itawamba by the new chief for treason, and all the masters were stripped of their titles and ranks. Apparently resisting the new changes is not allowed." Here the man gestured to himself meaning the physical state added on to his already injured body and chuckled humorlessly, "Most of my injuries were caused by a mountain lion attack a short while ago, but being body slammed into the ground and having my arm twisted up against my back helped reopen everything back up." The man stopped now as the coughing overtook him again and he began to hack up more blood and bile.

Element's eyes widened in horror as Leon shared his story - Dawali had been demoted? He wasn't sure what an Itawamba was, but he did know by the sound of Leon's voice that it wasn't a favorable position, and no doubt he didn't hold the power he once did if this new person was the chief. Element only had met a handful of canines from the AniWayan pack, but they had been nice and polite every time, and Element had felt that they were his friends; to see them treated this way, as he learned, was terrible. The black cat sat down next to Leon, inspecting his wounds, but there wasn't much he could do - he wasn't a Luperci and lacked hands to do anything with, and his knowledge of healing was limited; he did, however, think he could give Leon some advice.

"First," the cat said, "If you have any cloth or clothes, wrap them tightly around your wounds - it'll staunch the bleeding and help you focus, as you won't lose as much blood," he said, departing what little knowledge of healing he had. That was about it, he thought, as he watched helplessly.

"If you get all of AniWaya to rebel against the leaders, aren't there more of you than them?" he asked; he wanted to help them, but as a cat, there wasn't much he could do except ask questions and depart advice.
