Saxif had been taking long rides with JagerMeister in the near fortnight since her return to Aniwaya. She had returned to a pack changed, in days to follow tragedy to strike and on top of that the anger that had been building within her had grown fierce. She was quick to snap, a huge difference from the normally serene huntress. Jager was obviously thrilled with the many ventures out of AniWaya. His speed had been tremendously surprising as she had reached the northern territory. She had been checking out various areas not occupied by packs. She told her mate Shiloh that she had been hunting elk but had only returned with a deer from her past two trips. Not even hunting would deter her from her mission for she was hunting a new prey. She sought vengeance and hoped one day vengeance would be hers. She did not know the name of the creature she sought, she knew very little. Her only deduction about the beast was that she figured no pack would harbor such a menace. So she had been tracking lone wolfs.

Saxif slowed Jager to a stop as she had scented the first male in her venture. She tied the large blue eyed horse who attempted to detest the act; he was quickly stared down by the huntress. She was gaining more control over him lately, his exhaustion from the runs made him more pliable. She unsheathed her bow and quiver as she had decided the bastard responsible for her mate’s torture deserved a slow death. She shifted into her Secui form her hackles already raised from the prospect of finding the first male. She had quickly found the borders of his territory, her instincts begged her to stop but after a deep breath she crossed. She would take no formalities into account with this male, she wanted questions answered and would do anything to obtain the answers.

Word Count 491:: Do you want to block the fight out in PM’s so we can pp each other a little bit or what? Oh and congratulations on receiving the longest post I've ever written.

It was really warming up now. The heat clung to the earth even after the sun had left the sky. Because of this Zalen had been avoiding moving about during the day, the sun basically boiled the energy right out of him, and heated his ebon fur like nothing else. He could barely stand it, so he had become somewhat of a night owl. But the change in sleep schedule had finally taken its toll and sometime earlier in that morning Zalen had retreated to the relative cool of his den for a nap.

Now it was mid-morning, the orange rays of the sun had finally crept into his shallow den and danced over his eyes like little fire demons. With a groan he opened his eyes to slits and looked out into the woods just beyond the mouth of the cave. Already the trees and ferns seemed to wilt in the days swelter. He rolled over onto his stomach (he had been sleeping on his back) and the damp fur of his back stuck up in dirty mats. He would have to take a bath again soon and what a relief that would be.

He was stiff and groggily stepped into the filter sunlight to stretch. He could feel his engorged muscles become more malleable now. He found it much easier to rebound in Secui form than any other. This physical state was built for speed, endurance and recovery but did not lend well to heat maintenance. Zalen was about to shift into Optime, a form that would allow him to regulate temperature through sweating as well as panting, when a sound met his sensitive ears. Quickly the grogginess left him and he became alert.

It was a strange sound, one he didn’t quite recognize. The closest he could guess was a very large deer or elk but the sound abruptly stopped and he heard the animal mutter. He then realized it was a horse he was hearing. Zalen had recently learned that some Luperci chose to keep horses for transportation. He remembered thinking this was a bit silly, seeing as the Secui form was best for travel, but he supposed those who preferred Optime form would find horses quite useful.

Then the smell of a wolf came to his inky nostrils and he began to feel on edge. He knew he had sufficiently scent marked the surrounding area and wondered why someone would leave their horse a ways off before approaching him. This all did not sit well with him and he became increasingly anxious. This was very strange, ominous even. He felt a growl rise in his throat as his fur stood on end and his tail became ridged. Then he heard the trespasser’s pad falls and he took a step towards its direction, tail now completely erect. In the sunlight and approaching Secui wolf glinted like gold. Zalen released a low and intense bark, "You! Identify yourself!"

Saxif knew the den was near; his scent was becoming much more apparent. She cared not for stealth this was a straight on challenge from the female. She watched as he had become aware of her presence his form matching that of her own. A quick almost menacing grin broke as he barked his displeasure of her trespass. She ignored the question and slowly brought herself in greater view. She had no desire for formality that usually came so easily to the huntress. All she knew was this could be him, if it is he will suffer. When she stopped that is when her interrogation began. Do you know the pack of AniWaya? She kept full eye contact with the male, her golden eyes glinting with an anger very much foreign to the girl. She was someone different now, someone who had questions that desperately needed to be answered. Saxif in that moment was a wolf seemingly possessed by an evil spirit overflowing with hate.

She started the slow circle around the male as she uttered her second question, his displeasure quite apparent. This seemed to bring joy to the huntress. Are you familiar with name Shiloh? She knew now by the look on his face that regardless of whether or not he answered her they would fight. Her raised tail slightly wagged at the prospect of battle. Her prey had always been just that, prey. They each had their defenses but each was predictable and has their ways to put themselves toward death. But a wolf was new territory, a predator, unpredictable and with out complete fear. You raped her, didn’t you? Didn’t you?! She bared her teeth as she growled the last question. She knew it would happen soon; her body stopped and tensed her muscles bulking in preparation of the first strike.

Zalen watched as she came fully into view and his hackles fully raised. How brazen of this woman to just march right up to a strange wolf near his own den. She had a look of rage about her and Zalen knew that there was going to be a scuffle. Just his luck having to defend himself and his territory on such a hot day, right after he had woken from a nap. He sized her up and determined that she was smaller than him, but well toned, so this could be a difficult fight to win. In this form he was more brute than anything else and his hits would land hard but slowly. If she was quick he might be in trouble

With a low growl he watched her with keen green eyes as she circled him and his lip curled revealing his large canines. He was completely confused by what she was asking, he had never heard of a pack called AniWaya and did not know anyone by the name of Shiloh.

And then she mentioned rape and shock came to his eyes; she was avenging someone and was accusing him of the act! But she had the wrong person! As he was about to tell her this she squared off with him, muscles tensed and ready to pounce and he knew that he couldn’t just stand there and convince her that she had the wrong man, so he squared off as well, head and tail raised high and fur completely on end, making him look even larger than he was."You are making a mistake!" But before he could say more the moment erupted into violence.

Saxif had taken his silence as a sign of his guilt, so as he had finally spoken her mind was made and before she realized she was charging the ebony male. Her heart beat with a fierce haste when her paws hit the ground hard, her claws throwing up dirt in their wake. Her first fight was just moments away and even though he was larger and probably more skilled she was fearless. Then he rose up onto his hind legs throwing Saxif’s hunter instincts into high gear. He was a beast larger than she and he was just about to have the upper hand. Time to the huntress seemed to warp into slow motion as his paw came at her. Her muscles bunched in haphazardly ways as she abruptly shifted direction thwarting her initial plan to leap. She felt his claws catch the ends of her fur as she narrowly dodges the attack.

She was about to shake the closeness of what would have been her first strike from another wolf when she sees her opportunity. The black wolf had been thrown slightly off balance from his unconnected blow and his side was exposed to her. She charged with a growl and bark as she leaped at him. Her jaws clamped the moment her snout felt flesh, the taste of blood spilled over her tongue. She was sure she had him and was about to attempt to push the brute into submission when a pain at her lower part of her neck erupted into pain. The shock caused her to release her lock and pull back.

She had not expected a blow from a wolf to be so powerful but the pain nearly mimicked the one she had received from a bear. The after affect didn’t last as long as it had then; Saxif smelt her blood but knew the wound couldn’t be deep as she only felt just a slight wetness. Her breathing already hard from the exhilaration she faced off with the dark colored male again. Her maw slightly stained by his blood as she bared her teeth. She knew what to expect now, no more surprises when it came to pain. If she had the chance again she would lock and hold until her victory. For now she just snarled and readied for her next attack.

Word Count 252:: Awesome post!

In a flash she leapt towards him like a golden bolt of lightning, claws and fangs flared. He knew he couldn’t dodge now and in defense he pushed his weight onto his hind legs and readied his massive front paws to strike her down when she reached him. But she saw this and quickly feigned to the side just as his claws descended. When the front half of him landed he was not quick enough to regain his balance and turn before she was upon him.

He felt her sharp teeth dig into his flesh and pierce his dark skin and a pained whine escaped his maw. He could already feel the warm sensation of blood leave the wound, but could tell it was superficial so he put it out of his mind as he quickly twisted his frame around and struck her squarely on the neck, claws digging into her epidermis and ripping out, drawing blood and causing her to release him. They then both jumped back and squared off again, both slightly bloody, panting and fierce.

Muscles clenched and then quickly released as the two of them lunged at the same time, sending up dust and dirty debris in their quick movement. Before they were about to collide the golden female feigned once again to the side and Zalen could not match her speed, he had to skid to a stop before he could turn to face her again and by that time she was already mid-pounce. He readied himself.

Word Count :: 330 :: Sorry meant to do this earlier been a crazy couple of days

She gave him little time to think about an attack she knew she was quicker. As a hunter she knew she had to play her strengths keep herself moving. His strike his hard and could be deadly to the female so she charged at him again. She had a path in mind this time so her feign had been more fluent. She was going to leap and lodge herself on his back again; her hope was to use this strategy as a goal to his submission. The ebony wolf’s balanced failed again as she had dodged his mirrored leap. She thought she had enough time to reposition herself and get a good charge in her attack but as she leapt for the males back a shadow quickly passed over her eye. She yelped as the strong paw pushed her off her route and straight into the dirt.

She hits with a heavy thump expelling the air from her lung. His thick paws press against her. She thinks This is it, I’m done. Then pain shoots through her muzzle after she felt the hot breath of his open maw. Her cries were silenced but the clamp over her jaws. He shook with an angry vengeance for her insolence. It felt as though he was marking her for her stupidity, her failure. How would she explain this to her mate, the small grey female would see right through her lie with this wound. This angered the ivory huntress so as she released her maw she quickly snapped back at him with a fierce snarl but his paws were quick to push hard. Her golden eyes glowed with anger as she looked into the bloody toothed males green eyes. Even in a position of near defeat she is fearless.

Word Count 351:: you're fine.

She jumped and he was ready for her and reared up slight and swatted her from the air with a massive paw and slammed her to the ground. He then pressed down onto her chest and reached down to grasp her snarling jaws in his own. Zalen then shook her head in an obviously show of dominance and displeasure. She had come onto his territory and he was now going to teach her a lesson. His teeth dug into the flesh of her muzzle and he could taste blood and saliva on his tongue. After he suspected he had humiliated and damaged her enough he released her and looked into her golden eyes with harsh green ones.

"You need to calm the fuck down!" he barked out and then emitted a growl which quickly dissipated in his throat. She was struggling to get a hold of his paw with her teeth and he pushed her down into the dirt harder, making her emit a whine and eventually causing her to quit squirming. They both stared daggers at each other until their breathing began to calm, “Now I don’t know who you think I am, but I have no idea who you are or who Shiloh is. I don’t even recognize the name of the pack you mentioned. I have never raped or accosted anyone.” he huffed this all out and then began to pant heavily with his tongue out. The heat was overwhelmed now that he exerted all this physical energy. He just wanted to go lie down.

With a grunt he focused on her again. She was bloody and now completely defeated and he knew that she would not be much more of a threat now that he had beaten her, “Now I’m going to let you up and I expect you to behave yourself. You can question me about anything you wish so you can be assured I’m not the person you’re looking for, but then I request that you leave with haste.” And with that he slowly raised his paw from her chest and took a step back.

That was fun Big Grin

The huntress wriggled under the heavy weight of the larger male. She was not ready to accept defeat; she wanted more she wanted victory. He spoke with a harshness she had not been accustomed to. This caused her to stop. His words were angry but she could tell by the deliverance and the tones of his voice; he was telling the truth. Her breathing settled; her heart slowed. A relief washed over her and a slight bit of guilt. The huntress was thankfully not defeated by the monster that had taken her mate and raped her. He was just a mere male with a talent for fighting. When he said that he would release her she nodded assurance of her compliance. His paws lifted and her golden eyes now settled watched as she stepped back. She arose slowly and shook the dirt from her fur. She sat on her rump and looked at the male, her body language was not hostile at all now.

She seemed to revert to a more regal posture even though she had just been defeated. Her pride was hurt but she wouldn’t show it. First off, forgive me for my trespass of your home. Next I feel you have given me enough to believe you, from what I know of the beast that did this to my mate he would brag of the act. I will vacate your lands immediately. She bowed her head slightly, a sign of respect toward the male. She turned and started to head toward her waiting steed. She paused and looked back. You’re a decent fighter by the way. She smiled slightly a hint of her softer usual self. She felt good even though she had lost, it was her first fight and that would be something to pride in. She let her tail wag lightly as she wandered off.
