The sun was bright that day, with fewer clouds than usual to cover its brilliant rays, and it was obvious in the thick air that summer was finally settled over the Nova Scotia lands. Evelyn breathed through her nose happily, huffing out with excitement as she trotted over the warmed grass, her dark forelegs picking its way easily. Though she was also enjoying the warm day and the fresh scents, she was also sniffing out the herd of horses, or more like ponies, that she had found the other day. They seemed to be staying in the area for a few days to graze on the grass that grew abundantly, and the hybrid knew that the herd could not be far away from where she last spotted them. The girl decided that Cercatori could use some more horses, to trade for bigger items than what, say, her tools that she crafted, could provide or for whatever other need that could arise.

“The herd is somewhere near here. They can’t be so far off now,” she spoke, half to herself, though she was also addressing the two Luperci that were close by; Bangle, the coywolf who, with her to help and two others, made the pack’s new caravan, and Rory, one of newer members of the pack, who Evelyn found to have an interesting accent that what she had not usually heard in these lands. With now a sudden spurt of excitement that she knew that they were now close the ponies; the wolfdog put a little bit more spring in her trot, her pace becoming a tad faster. It was as if an intuition had whispered in her ear, as she finally caught the fresh smell of the creatures, and as she peered through a bush, she spotted the herd feeding in a large clearing, unsuspecting of the Luperci. It was a small band, only six of them, and the group was far enough from the horses for them not to detect the canines yet.

Days seemed to be getting longer, yet time seemed to be running out. The coywolf had returned days ago empty handed, without him and Skye's son in tow. He had considered him lost, but could not imagine the horrors of what could happen to such a small pup in lands as big as 'Souls. Although the coywolf's traveling instinct was sharp, it wasn't good enough. And as disappointed in himself as he was, hell had no fury like a fiery-headed mother.

But they had to move on, though Bangle had considered going back out to search; if only to give Skye more time to herself and her two remaining children, and take time to cool from their heated argument. It seemed to follow Bangle everywhere, even as the bright sun bore down on him, like Skye's watchful eye upon the multicolored male. Today was the day of the round-up, and Bangle made his way towards the stables where Jack was tethered. The horse heard the clinking bracelets and other assortments from the coywolf and nickered, but Bangle said nothing as he prepared him. Had he not volunteered to help Evelyn and the funny-talking Rory, his mate would not have allowed him to take the spotted horse.

It did not take long before the coywolf arrived at the spot he was told to meet the pair at, and gave a very neutral greeting. This was supposed to be exciting, but the joy had gone out of the coywolf craftsman, and simply turned to focus on the task at hand. He dismounted Jack at a distance - he knew the presence or sounds of another horse would not scare the small herd the trio were scouting out. In fact, it might even help them capture a few, as ponies had a natural curiosity for other horses that were not a part of the herd. "So, what's th' plan?" He whispered, crouching down near Evelyn and peering through the brush.
