HIDE YOUR INNOCENCE BEFORE THEY SEE RIGHT THROUGH
For Ravesque. Derpy starting post. :x

Jackson had enjoyed a lengthy romp across the vast lands to the west. It had felt like ages since he had taken the time to travel so far, the last time being when he was just a small pup, following an associate of his father’s here all the way from New Brunswick. The hybrid hardly remembered that first journey of his, so he hardly knew what to expect when he’d wandered off this time. Sure, he’d gotten a taste of just how many packs were populating the region, but there had been so much mindless travelling that by the time he’d begun making his way back home, he was sick and tired of walking. He’d had his fill of the great unknown, and now it was time to get back to work.

The youth set out that morning intending to gather some firewood. He ventured out to the valley lowlands, making his way to the familiar forest that populated it. At some point his mission seemed to become forgotten, and he wound up wandering through the old sawmill for a time. He approached one of the old buildings, cerulean gaze examining the door that hung at an awkward angle on rusted hinges. He took a few more steps toward it, curious as to what might be hiding inside. But then he hesitated, glancing around the remains of the sawmill. Right, he was out here to look for proper fire-nurturing wood, not wandering about like some bored little child. He needed to stop getting himself distracted. With a sigh, he turned and marched himself back into the forest.

YOU MUSTN'T DISAPPOINT THEM

He'd found himself sleeping amongst the trees more frequently than he had before, avoiding the caves where his ex-lover resided with her newly born children. They weren't his. He'd known they weren't his anyways, but the very obvious fact ground down his patience somewhat. Perhaps it was simply because he knew why — she'd whored herself for drugs, something he both was capable of accepting and condemning. They were not together, he didn't expect her to settle for him and he wouldn't admit his own desire to settle for her, but some hidden instinct caused outrage over the children that weren't his own blood. He took care of her. Was he supposed to be lenient, to take care of these bastard pups of hers? He would, without question, but he knew there would be a side of bitterness.

The idea of a nap was ruined by his frustration, and the hulking bipedal creature rose from the earth. It was time to bring back a catch for his unrequited beloved anyways. A grunted growl of exertion was followed by stretching, popping limbs as he set out to find...well, something. It didn't take long. The sound of a sigh distracted him enough to make him seek out the source of the noise.

In the depths of the lowland forest, the bright white of his youngest son's fur shone like moonlight on water. Jackson and Esmeralda had always been a different pair — they looked like their mother, Gods rest her treason-infested soul. "Looking for something, boy?" There was a fondness in his greeting that wasn't there when he spoke to their half-brother, but Jackson and his sisters had always been preferred over the darker child of the Angela. After all, he'd spent their lives taking care of them, a courtesy that wasn't extended to Scorpius D'Angelo.
