losing my religion

She's just chillin' outside of her den, drawing on a big piece of whatever it is she could find to draw on. This post is mostly just rambly thoughts. >.> She isn't really doing anything else.

Her eyes focused on her hands as they worked at the paper on her lap. Large strokes from the bit of inky black, staining charcoal colored the paper with a familiar sight — a vertical arrow in a crescent moon, symbol of something she wasn't entirely sure of. As her eyes watched it come to life under her fingers, she smiled. It was a strangely phallic description, but wasn't that just like Cotl? Testosterone charge. Male. One of several things she enjoyed about him. Gabriel and Ezekiel found it distasteful — was it Cotl who was distasteful or just that she'd been sleeping with him? — but she was comfortable in her place with him. Sure, she hadn't moved into his room, but they both liked their space. It didn't stop her from staying there.

The smile began to fade as she turns her head to gaze back into the den. Maybe she had made the wrong decision in hounding the coyote who had fathered the younger of her children. Maybe she should have chosen Cotl, but those children...they would have been less than these. She could have his later — later, when she had more experience as both a mate and mother. She simply had to keep these bastard pups safe from him until then.

A sigh released onto the air as crimson eyes, filled with frustration and sorrow, focused again on the szeliga. Maybe Cotl would give her a new tattoo. She could be part of his family, as well as her own. Why not? "Because he'll reject me eventually." They all did, in the end, even Caillen who had died. The only unmoving force was Ezekiel, who was just a man. She couldn't keep him. But she would try. With Cotl, she would try — loneliness was a drug she was uncomfortable continuing on with.
