The night before, Melee had taken Range aside and asked him to exploring with her. She couldn't remember the last time that the pair of them had gone out adventuring. Everything had been so busy lately with the move, their father's new mateship, and just going about their own business. So she was delighted when he agreed and they planned to meet at Aelcrest Shore. It wasn't too far from their pack lands and Melee hadn't been there for quite some time. The last time that she had visited, there had been snow on the ground. She wanted to see the seal pups playing in the surf, explore the shore, then make a plan to go somewhere from there. It wasn't as if they needed to stay at Aelcrest all day, it was just a jumping point for the rest of their plans. Maybe they could go up into the Foothills to see what they might be able to find. There were so many interesting places to go that she was sure they could find something interesting to do.

Melee had arrived before her brother, a bit earlier than they had planned. It wasn't exactly intentional, but her morning ritual of going for a nature hike in the pack lands had ended early. Perhaps she was getting better at hiking or maybe the excitement of an adventure to be had was what had made her feet move faster. Either way, she didn't notice her brother on the shoreline. Sitting down on a rock that overlooked the shoreline, she waited for her brother. Surely he would be there within the next twenty minutes or so, if he was on time. If he wasn't, she would just lay back and enjoy the sun for a while until he decided to show up.

Range was watching her from a short distance with a crafty smile across his face.
Hello Melee.
He thought this too himself with a slight snicker as he stepped out of his hiding spot and began creeping closer. Every footstep left a print in the sand, the waves would then wash it over. Normally he would notice the simple beauty but he was transfixed upon his sister currently. His pulse was quickening as he got closer and closer. Finally he snapped, and let out a growl that turned into a bark of warning as he began a sprint straight for her.
When she turned around he was on the rock, he lifted her up and jumped off the rock slamming her into the sand lightly. He sat on her belly directly afterwards and held her wrists so she couldn't mount on offense. Or at least he thought she couldn't.
"HAI"
He said this in an obnoxious voice purposely being immature and playful.
"I got here a little too early, when I got bored I decided to wait and see when you came out and planned this forcive attack"
He smiled proud of himself as he puffed his chest out in victory, before breaking out into a mild laughter.
"So where did you want to explore?"
His tail began wagging from excitement, he loved exploring. His pulse was quickening with every moment from the adrenaline of his attack mixed with the thought of exploration..
Today is gonna be sooo much fun Muahahahahahaha!
He started thinking and wasn't paying attention to Melee who he was still seated upon.

Just as a heads up, what you did with Range there is considered powerplay. You can read up on what powerplay is here. I don't mind this time, but you'll want to be careful about it in the future.

Melee stretched out, leaving her back completely open to attack without even realizing it. Mostly because she was complacent in her own safety. After all, she had never had cause to fear for her life, so she was naive to the idea that it could be unsafe here. So near to her pack's lands, so far from the Inferni tribe... she saw no reason to worry. Her ears twitched slightly as she heard what she thought were pawsteps, but by that time it was too late. A warning bark soon followed that would have tipped her to what was happening anyway. Melee half-spun around to face her "attacker", a startled expression on her features. Her body was tense with preparation for a fight, though she quickly recognized the approaching figure as her brother.

He picked her up and threw her into the sand, causing her breath to exhale out of her lungs in a painful oomph. Melee was dazed for a moment and unable to react as he sat on her and held her wrists. After a brief recovery, she growled playfully at her brother, her tail whipping back and forth against the sand as she mock-glared up at her sibling. Usually it was she who mounted the attacks against him and she was impressed that he had laid in wait and attacked her first. The girl nipped lightly at his whiskers in "punishment" for his actions, though she was sure to come up with a way to actually get him back later.

When he had finished his proud speech, she bucked her stomach up underneath him. Simultaneously, she pushed up with her chest and tried to wrestle her brother off of her. Which was difficult with her wrists caught, but not impossible. If she was successful in wresting him off, she would (surprisingly) not attempt to pin him in return. Rather, she would stand up and dust the sand off. Her revenge would come later. If she was unsuccessful, she would stop wriggling to reply to his question. "I was thinking the Foothills. After checking out the seal pups on the beach, that is. I'm sure there have to be tons after this summer." she was actually somewhat tempted to try to catch one. Its fur would be great to make a satchel or something out of... but another part of her balked at the idea of killing a cute little baby seal. So she wasn't sure which would win out just yet. It was an ongoing battle between the savage and the civilized parts of her.

OOC: Sorry bout that, I thought it would be okay seeing as it was just brother-sister play not a real fight Tongue

Range was bucked off with ease realizing his balance was terrible. He rolled across the sand as not to be mounted himself. He then arose to his feet slowly and eyed her to make sure she had no attack planned. His nose twitched realizing he was out of her reach.
"Seal pups are cute. that sounds good! what is there in the foothills?
His imagination was flying, his tail wagging again in hopes of a story about lost treasure, and him and melee trying to find it to bring back to the home territory. He quickly wiped these thoughts away and smiled, learning not to let his imagination fly so far.
Where else could we go... his mind blasted with possibilities now because he knew he couldn't stay in those few places for that long
He gasped with excitement, a light bulb going off in his head as he looked to her once more.
"Could we swing by the falls later? it's like my favoriiiite place!
His tail was swinging back and forth furiously at the thought as his smile was gigantic on his face. he started bouncing on spot wanting to get a move on already. His impression deepened in the sand as he realized this was a problem he bounced to a different spot.
"Let's get moving slow poke!"
He bounced on spot anxiously.

Oh it's no problem! I don't mind for play fighting like that. Any and all writing that includes you controlling the actions/reactions of another person's character is considered powerplaying. You can always clear it beforehand with the other player, too. No big deal, just wanted to make sure you knew! :3

Melee was pleased that she had managed to oust her brother from his seat atop her. It had been uncomfortable to have all of his weight pressing into her chest and stomach, plus it meant that he hadn't kept her pinned for long. She eyed her brother carefully, though. Maybe he had tricked her into getting tackled once, but she was not one to let it happen again. If there was to be any wrestling, she would be the one instigating and the one who would end up on top. They appeared to be at a standoff for the wrestling, though, since both of them were eager to go exploring. Melee was particularly excited to see the seal pups.

At his own suggestion for a place to visit, she bobbed her head happily. Anywhere that involved water would probably interest the rain enthusiast. Although she preferred it falling from the sky, just the fact that it was falling was fine by her. Plus, there were some other neat areas right nearby there which might yield some interesting adventures. "We can definitely go there!" the Soul girl agreed readily.

Range sure did have an endless spout of energy. Melee herself was pretty energetic, but she didn't bob around like him. The girl grinned at his enthusiasm, though, and gave him a mischievous look. "We'll see who's a slowpoke when I beat you to the beach!" she woofed in response, taking off (she hoped) before he noticed what she was doing. Hoping to outdistance him by nature of surprise. If not, she still had a good chance of winning. Last time they had raced, anyway, they had been well-matched in speed. It had been a while, though, so who knew which of them had been running more since then to build their stamina? Certainly she had, since she went for a run on most days. Melee hoped that would give her the edge over him.

OOC: You make Range sound large lol he's small and athletic doesn't have the muscle build that comes with maturity yet xD!

WC: 221

Range made a shocked expression yelping when she took off ahead of him.
"GAH! Scurvy Dog!"
He began too sprint after her pushing himself as hard as he can his muscles flexing with every motion. he was able to catch up but unable to pass her as he was feet behind her. He slowed down to more of a sneak as the neared the beach. he could hear the seals and this made his tail wag but he forced himself to stop it. He was silent as he snuck up over the small hill that presented itself. His belly on the ground as he came over, he watched the seals behavior happy watching from the distance he was at.
[i]They don't even know. They are just in their world. what goes on around them doesn't matter. only that moment. That is the true way to live life. That is the best mentality.

He stared into space awaiting some form of interaction from his sister, his tail began to wag from all of his thinking.
It's so serene the ability to not care about the world. Like meditation but applied to everyday activities, which is easily achievable but they do it without focusing on being in that state of mind. I will do that one day.

I don't intend to! He's just bigger than Melee, that's for sure. :b

Melee was pleased that she had beat him to their goal. The sand had been spitting up behind her as she ran, her fleet padded feet making easy work of the shoal's shores. The girl breathed in deeply as she skidded to a stop. For a time, her breathing was slightly labored, but she kept it quiet so as not to disturb the native wildlife. Like her brother, she crouched down onto her stomach and shimmied up onto an area where she could look outward at the seal pups. After all, if she alerted them to her presence, they would surely be off like little flashes of gray lightning back into the surf.

She stared at the seals, fascinated by their movements. Their flippers were strange, misshapen things. Habitually, she reached for her deformed hand, feeling the nubs where fingers should have sprouted in her changed form. The similarity of the flippers to her paw made her both unsettled and somehow happy. At least someone else could understand the weirdness of being different. Even if to them, it was natural. If one of their kind was born with a hand, they would be seen as the freak. Then again, Melee Soul had never truly faced the scrutiny or discrimination of another. Gideon wouldn't have allowed it, her pack as a whole wouldn't have allowed it. Just because they didn't tell her didn't mean she didn't realize she was odd, though, or that others might perceive her deformity with scorn. Just because it hadn't happened yet didn't mean that it wouldn't.

After some moments of just watching the seals at play, she wiggled closer to Range and poked his cheek with her nose to grab his attention. "Ready to do some exploring?" she whispered. Assuming that either the Falls or the Foothills were in their near future.

Range didn't hesitate this time, he was gonna beat her. He looked at the treeling some three hundred yards back and took off at full speed. His feet would barely touch the ground before being lifted again as he propelled himself across the field. His fur began to move back against his skin from the wind that was blowing his directions. If anyone was yelling he couldn't hear it his ears were flooded with the sound of air swooshing by. His pulse began to hasten as he dipped his head forward hping for some sort of aero dynamic advantage. Without time to react he steps wrongly on the ground, his feet slide out from underneath him as he flies through the air.
....No doubt.
He slammed against the grass and rolled a few feet across. As he came to a halt he laid on the ground motionless his snout buried in dirt. a moment or two went by before he broke out in laughter and began crawling a few feet before standing and walking,
"DIdja see that Melee? What a tumble. Woo."
As he began shaking the effects off he took a mild jog to complete the distance, taking seat upon a fallen tree.
"That's gonna hurt in the mornin."
He snickered to himself before looking to see if Melee was even still around him.

The girl twitched her ears with surprise as Range dashed off. No response whatsoever, he was just off like a bolt of lightning toward wherever he waned to explore. Melee leaped up onto her own feet and raced after her littermate. Her feet kicked up the sod and rocks as she ran, laughing gleefully into the air as it whooshed past her face. Given his head start, though, she had no chance of catching up. Which was probably good considering Range went flying. Melee's ears flattened back as she skidded to a stop, watching her sibling as he tumbled. There wasn't much that she could do to stop him from his fall, so she just waited until he had landed. Then she started to jog toward him. This time she was meticulously careful about where she set her paws.

As she drew near to his position, the boy had stopped moving and laid on the ground with his snout buried in the dirt. The girl swished her tail at his comment, crossing her arms as she appraised her sibling's potential injuries. Thankfully there was nothing wrong with him. Just some bruises, undoubtedly, and possibly a bruised ego. However, she doubted that. Range seemed happy enough with his circumstances. Content to go back about their business of exploring. "Smooth move, bro, I'm sure the ladies will love it." she teased in return, walking up to her brother to bump shoulders with him. The girl twitched her nose thoughtfully as she considered where they could go from their current point. "Further into the Foothills or the Falls? And don't go dashing off on me! We can walk and talk for once." If he tried to dash off, she would reach out to grab his arm and hold him back. Running was fun, but it wasn't ideal for exploring. A wolf could miss too much when the world was going by in a blur.
