The child knew she had better find a way to make it up to her poor mother with all the issues she was making her put up with, her running off in the middle of the night, her just running around the pack lands like she had no care in the world. She did love her mother so much, and she really didn’t mean to worry her as much as she did. It was just as if she couldn’t help it, the child sat in the sun near the garden which was closely growing to be one of her favorite places to just sit and think about things, with all the crops that where growing it was just the right amount of shade, while not being so close to the houses that her mother could watch ever move she made, but it also wasn’t far enough away that if her mother called for her that she could hear her call and come to her in the right amount of time not to worry her mother.

She could try to catch her momma a fish...but that would mean trying to hunt, and though the small tan babe knew that it would please her mother so much for her to bring home a fish, but that just not something that babe felt like doing. Then it hit her, she had seen the most wonderful of sights in the land, it was just a huge open field of flower, so many bright colored flowers littered upon the lands, it was like someone just careless allowed the paint to fall of their paint brush, letting it fall upon the grounds. Making some of the most wonderful sights that the child had yet ever had the lucky of seeing! The child’s paws moved swiftly as she raced west heading towards the area of flowers that she just knew that her mother would love. The child was rather pleased with her-self for thinking of such a grand idea. Her pink rolled out as she raced closer and closer.

Once passing through the woods and her paws came upon the rich ground, she stopped, while panting she looked around her and set to work picking out the best of the best flower for her momma. Nothing was to good enough for the child to give to her mother.

They had been back in the pack for little over a week now, and their 'just settling in' time was drawing to a close. Shawchert had labored for days to make the Treetop Terrace accommodate the children and Orin, Orin herself had helped where she could, foraging for supplies and lugging them back to their woodsy home. Much of the mother's time was spent worrying about her daughters, though, which was entirely normal even if they had not experienced the family tragedy. At first it felt like any minute one would take a flying leap over an edge and plummet to the ground, and sometimes they got real close, but somehow that never happened, and nine days later her pups were still floofy balls of energy, not flat splats on the mossy forest floor. They were almost completely settled in now, and soon Orin would move her family into one of the structures she liked better, a place that would be their permanent home – she had just been waiting on a few repairs and updates to it.

As the updates to their home came nearer to completion, the work for Orin was just beginning. There was nothing in their home! No bed, no chairs, no tables, no furniture at all! They needed shelves so her daughters could each have their own space, and of course the place could use a bit of personal touch to make it look more homely. With all of this in mind, Orin had gone out from the treetop village in search of useful provisions. She only went as far as the hunting lodge. For one, she had not rummaged there yet for supplies. Secondly, she would not be so far from her daughters that she could not race back to them in the matter of minutes.

The Optime loaded up her hands with as many things she could carry – mostly a few linens that were salvageable. She would have to employ a few pack mates' help if she wanted to bring over any of the more formidable furniture, as much of it was larger than herself. Come to think of it, how did Shawchert expect to get those things up into the village in the sky? Well, he must have had something worked out. After all, he'd already gotten all the materials up there to build the darn place.

It wasn't long until Orin tread the ground beneath the village. Arms loaded with bundled cloth, she glanced around, knowing her daughter was off playing. She shouldn't have wandered too far, she hoped. “Juliet?” She called calmly and kept walking toward the familiar trunk of the tree that was their future home. “Juliet! Come out, come out, wherever you are.” She sang the words merrily as she dropped the load at the roots of the tree. It was a dry day and nothing would happen to them here.

There was a stretch of silence, and Orin tried to bite back her worry. She began to look around and a little more forcefully this time, she called again, “Juliet! Where are you?” She tried to hold back. The girl could just be a ways away. She didn't have to always jump to the conclusion that she had been taken by some monster. After all, they were in Cercatori now and this place was well protected. She tried not to remind herself that Cercatori was where her son had been taken from.

With her nose down to the ground the child sniffed though the land of flowers, it was full of so many wonderful floral scents and not even to say anything about all the wonderful colors. The child lifted her head up looked into the flowers. Though if the child was to sink down the flowers that cover the lands would blanket her body, it would be funny to hide here if she would ever play hide and seek with someone. She could never be found, the child giggled at the thoughts of being able to hide here and win a game. Moving further and further into the flowery lands the child looked around she wanted nothing more really then to find that one flower, that one perfect flower for her dear sweet mother. Nothing less than something as a pretty as she was, and as nice as she was would do, the child had a fleeting feeling that this was going to be very hard to find that perfect flower.

There was a buzz the was floating around the child’s ear, her head swung around as the yellow jacket buzzed past her, it didn’t seem to want anything to do with her, but Juliet couldn’t help but to find the bug interesting. Her navy pre-teen eyes glued upon the bug as she lowered her frame down watching the flying bug, her tail flicks side to side as a shimmer filled her eyes, paw crossed over paw as she moved closer and closer to the bug that had landed down upon the flower. ”You’re SOOOO MINE!” The young she wolf snarled as she jumped after the eating bug. Though before she could land on the bug, it had taken off. The child landed not so gracefully on the flower, standing up she huffed a very sassy huff shaking her head.

Her daughter didn’t answer when she called. Hmm… That was weird. Orin was prone to panicking when the girls didn’t come right away, but was working on keeping a cooler head. As they grew older they were becoming more independent. Though they still needed their mother to survive, their little fiery souls were blossoming and the wolf spirits they would grow in to were beginning to show.

Okay, Orin, it’s okay, she reassured herself as she started to search for the girl. You’re in Cercatori. It’s daylight. There’s more border patrol than there used to be. She’s just curious… she’s around here somewhere.

Orin took a deep breath as she looked for her daughter. It wasn’t long until she saw paw prints in the soil. Tiny, fresh paw prints. Juliet had been playing here not long ago, and as it turned out the little girl knew nothing yet of covering her trail, for she practically opened a new path through the leaves and vines that lined the forest floor. She was probably just off lost in playful fantasy.

The Tundra woman followed the tracks, surprised at how far the path led, every once in a while calling out for her daughter. She’d gone so far in such a short time! Where was the buggar? Orin, still trying to swallow her worry, was starting to get mad. The relief of finding your child safe shouldn’t keep them from being held accountable for their actions, which is exactly what Orin did in the past. If her daughters were ever out of her sight she’d be so happy to see them that there was no recourse for their misbehaving. It was going to teach them the wrong thing.

By the time she reached the end of the trees she was practically stalking through the woods, arms crossed across her breast. She came to the open field and peered out just in time to think she saw movement, but just as her eyes flittered to the spot whatever had been there disappeared under the bed of petals.

Juliet! She called firmly, not sure if it was her daughter out there or not. “Juliet, come here, now!”

The child had been very so caught up on trying to find this bug, her nose to the ground her little tail was high in the air flipping around, the energetic child was in love this little game. She would have to put off finding her mother’s pretty perfect flower later, now it was time to go bug hunting. The child giggled softly as she moved closer and closer to the bordering of the field of flowers. A wild spark was flaming with in her eyes, as this was just a mere game to her, but unknown to her she was working on the hunting skills she would need later in life, after all one day her mother would want her to be able to hunt and kill on her own.

The child then heard a very sharp and demanding voice she knew right away what body belonged to that voice. The voice came again only a second later, this time it was the tone the child was growing up to know not to mess with her, and not to press her luck, she gulped as she threw her body down hiding in the flowers. The pup moved as quickly to where her mother’s normally welcoming smell was coming from. The tan child was not sure what she had done this time, but whatever it was she was already sorry for it, she gave a soft whine as she crawled over to her mother as she reached up trying to lick her mother’s chin. ”Yes Momma? You called for me?” The child wasn’t going to try to defend her-self just yet she had to see what she had done before she tried to save her-self somewhat. The child knew that the little family had been though a lot, but the child believed that her mother did over react on a lot of things.

She chewed her lip again as she waited for a response. She was sure the girl was out there and wasn't going to reward her misbehavior by going to her. No, Juliet would do as she was told and come to Orin. Of course. That is how it had to be. Maybe. Well... Juliet was just a puppy. Maybe she didn't know Orin was serious? It's okay, she can just... NO!

Orin had been about to take a step into the flower fields with her waring thoughts stopped her. It was funny how at odds she was with herself when her daughter hadn't done anything all that bad. Still, she had been on the brink of giving in when she saw some movement in the field again. Ah, yes, there she was! Evident by the sudden swaying of the flowers. A sea of color began to sway this way and that, setting off little undulating waves of blossoms, and it was coming closer to her. As Juliet neared, Orin saw a tail and the tip of two red-rimmed ears coming toward her amidst the flowers. Good, Juliet had listened.

Then the girl popped out of the flowers altogether and was at her feet, trying to jump up on her for a nuzzle. Orin knelt down, putting her hands on her daughter's cheeks and holding her face gently and lovingly. The moment Orin saw Juliet her anger melted away and all she wanted to do was be thankful that her daughter was there. She bumped her muzzle to her daughter's and made a noise trying to soothe the guilty whine.

“You had me worried,” she was crooning in a soft voice. Then suddenly she stopped. She was doing it again! She found her daughter and was so happy that she was about to forget to hold her accountable for her actions. If things kept up, her girls could become spoiled little pups in no time. Steeling herself, she took in a quick breath and looked her daughter straight in her beautiful, violet-blue eyes... those big, round eyes that were so like precious gems.

“You had me worried,” she repeated, this time more firmly. “You wandered off without telling me where you were going, and you didn't come right away when I called you. Why not?” This was her best attempt at scolding her daughter, it was only fair to give her a chance to explain herself.

At first the tan and red child was glad that her mother wasn’t upset, though at least the child had stayed in the pack lands. With the wild streak that she had randomly gotten from someone in the gene pool it wouldn’t be too farfetched for her to foolishly walk away from the pack lands just to see what lay beyond the shadow of the borders. Though no matter how brave the child thought she was she wasn’t ready to leave the safe confines of the pack lands just yet, give her a few more weeks or even a month and she just might. Mother’s hands were placed on her face, the child gave a whine again, and she didn’t want her upset with her. Her mother was the most important thing in her life, and then next came her sister. The child was glad to have her mother’s soft hands touching her, and her sweet scent washing over her, her mother had always been there for her. The child had thought she had been in the clearing and her mother wouldn’t be getting upset at her for not being with in ear shot of her mother’s call for her. Then it came, the firmer voice from her mother. The child rolled her eyes, with a huge huff. The child squirmed and pushed away from her mother.

”Oh my GAWD! Mom! I was in the pack lands…At least I didn’t go out trying to find trouble.” The child huffed, maybe she was biting off more then she could chew, but she was growing up and she needed her freedom.”I’m not a pup anymore!” The child proclaimed with a stomp of her foot. Her ears where back against her head. Her fluffy pup tail flicked around as she glared at her mother. Maybe the child had just bitten off more then she could chew, maybe not. Either way the child believed she was older and ready for more then what her mother was letting her, and maybe even more then really what she was ready for.

“Juliet Takekuro!” Orin breahted in angered surprise. “I don't believe my ears.” She let go of her gentle, caring hold on her daughter and stood up to her full height – a height that wasn't that impressive to most but when you were a puppy facing the wrath of mom it could be intimidating. She put her hands on her hips and glared down at her daughter. Instead of answering her questions or explaining that she didn't know she was out of earshot, her lippy daughter snapped back with a disrespectful retort. It took Orin off guard, surprise d, hurt and disappointed the Tundra all at once. A miasma of emotion warred in her eyes. Orin hadn't even noticed that she called the girl by the wrong name.

“You're not a pup anymore?” she barked. “I guess I forgot you're five months going on two years. Forgive me, your Oldness, for trying to keep you safe.” Okay, yeah, it wasn't exactly the most mature response. In fact, it sounded a lot like two pups bickering. But Orin is the woman who stayed so young even into her adulthood, she had her children almost as soon as she had become fertile, and the only reason she was as adult as she was is because the last five months had forced her to grow up fast. Sometimes things like that just came out.

Further reacting childishly, instead of saying anything else to her daughter she simply turned and stalked off, stomping into the field of flowers and then sitting down with a huff. Had she just thrown more of a fit than her daughter?

She sat with her back to Juliet, ostracizing the girl. She crossed her arms across her breast and glared straight ahead, her golden eyes narrow slits of anger. How could she talk to her like that? She was just a little girl, still a pup, and far from being an adult in her eyes and the pack's eyes. Her daughters had been so good, they had always obeyed with hardly any lip. What had gotten into Juliet?

Maybe that was just it... Her daughters had always been so good. They never questioned their mother, they never disobeyed. They had always done what she wanted, what she asked, even when she was forcing them to just up and leave their home. They were pack wolves by nature, they deserved a stable home and for the first few months of their lives she hadn't given them that. Now they had the home they deserved, it was about time for them to start asking questions about it, and it was her duty to give them answers, not patronize them for being curious. They were never going to learn about the world if Orin sheltered them from it all the time.

“Juliet, I'm sorry.” Was she still there? “I shouldn't have said that.” She looked over her shoulder, searching for her daughter, hoping she hadn't gotten upset and run off. She had something important to say, it was time to tell her.

The child curled up her face as she looked at her mother, what was wrong with her, she had only told her the truth, she wasn’t a baby anymore and there was no need for her to treat her like one anymore. As long as she was in the pack lands she should be able to go where she wanted right? The child twisted her face up in confusion as she pressed her paws into the ground; she just wasn’t seeing why her mother was so upset. Her mother called her by the new name that she was supposed to like?! The Moonsong child refused! It was not the name that she was born with, and she wouldn’t like it no matter how much her mother wanted her to. The tan child took a few step back looking up at her mother with a lost look to her eyes, she had never seen her mother this upset with her. ”No I’m not Juliet Takekuro, I’m Juliet Moonsong.” The child whispered, in a blunt matter. It wasn’t that she was meaning to try to push her mother further she just didn’t understand why she was so upset for telling her the truth.

”Momma…Are you okay? I’m going on 1 years old, not two. Should I get Daddy? Or Ms. Skye?” She questioned as she moved a bit closer to her mother, though the white she wolf walked into the flowers and plopped her-self down like a child, should that be something that Juliet should have done, but what hurt worst was her mother turning her back to her, sure she didn’t like seeing her pretty flowers getting hurt, but her mother, the one that had been there though everything turned her back to her. The child sat down with a whine looking to her mother’s back. ”Momma….why are you mad at me? Do you hate me or something?” The child whimpered, she just couldn’t stand to think that her beloved mother was mad at her and never wanted to see her again. ”If you want me to go away forever I will. ..” The Moonsong Princess offered up to her mother if it helped her any. The child slunk behide a rock laying in it’s shadow, she didn’t want her mother to see her up-set she wanted to see her as happy Juliet and never upset.

The soft voice of her mother called out for her again as she pushed her head up from the rock putting her paws onto the rock as she laid her head down up the paws that where upon the rock. ”It’s okay Momma, I still love you…but I think you need to talk to Ms. Skye, your acting strange.” The child didn’t quite get that her mother was being smart when she said she was five months going on two years. ”Would you like me to get her, or Daddy?” She asked softly not moving from her rock.

OMG I love how you play her. You're so good at puppies, I envy you.

When she first looked back Juliet wasn't there. How could Orin have snapped at the little girl like that? She'd been so offended when she said she wasn't a puppy anymore, yet she snapped at her like she was an adult who should have understood it. She couldn't be doing that to her daughters. They were very good girls. It worried her when she didn't see Juliet, and her heart leaped into her throat.

But just as quickly as Orin could realize that she wasn't there, Juliet popped out of her hiding spot. Little red-rimmed ears poked up from behind a rock, and the top half of the pup followed. Orin couldn't help but feel her heart melt as the girl laid her head down; she was just so damn cute that sometimes it was unfair. It just make Orin feel all the more guilty for how she acted.

“No, I'm okay baby. Sometimes grown ups just say things that don't make much sense.” Orin stood up and brushed herself off, and then realized what she'd done to all the flowers that she so carelessly sat on. Luckily the field was resilient, and new flowers would take their place soon. She walked over to Juliet and sat down on the opposite side of the rock, her expression filled with a loving guilt. “And I'm sorry I called you Takekuro, it just slipped. You understand why I do that sometimes, don't you?” She arched a brow, genuinely concerned for her daughter. It was strange enough for the girls when she had to explain to them that her name was actually Orin, not Desdemona. Sometimes Titania would refer to her as both names now, and Orin supposed Desdemona would always be with her. She wasn't going to confuse her daughters any more by insisting that they go by Takekuro when she switched back. They had been known to be Moonsongs, and both daughters wanted to remain Moonsongs. Orin accepted that.

But the story of why their family carried so many names was something she had not ever fully given her daughters. Orin had to give her daughter credit; while she was still a pup, she was growing up, and she deserved to learn about her family.

She sighed. If she didn't start now, she might chicken out and never tell Juliet what she deserved ti know. “Do you remember anything about your brother?”

The child watched her mother, the more she sat there in her pretty flowers crushing them, the child was more tempted to call out to her to tell her, no wait, it was wrong to tell to ask her to get off her pretty flowers. Juliet hated seeing something that did nothing wrong get hurt, why did other’s hurt the ground? The ground did nothing wrong to them. The child watched her mother with her dark blue eyes, they had not really stop getting darker since birth. It was strange that she did that, what made her do that? Her mind raced in question after question that she wanted to ask her mother, but then again she did not want to bother her mother with the game of twenty million questions. The child’s ears flicked forward as her mother spoke her eyes watched her pretty mother. She knew that a lot of adult said things that just didn’t make sense, and to her that just was not making sense! They should say what they mean and what they want out of her. She could better understand them if they did that. ”Why do they do that Momma?” The dark eyed child couldn’t help but to ask as she moved down from her rock and moved over to her mother, pushing to get onto her soft lap against the soft fur of her body. The scent of her mother helped her relax and deal with all of the new stuff she was being put though. Her mother’s eyes where odd, The child just wish that she could understand the world that she was living in a bit better, maybe then she wouldn’t have such a hard time talking to the others that she meet.”No. I’m Juliet Moonsong, it was what to told me my name was. I am not anyone else but me? Do you want me to be Juliet Takekuro? How can it slip? You did not fall down, so how could it slip? You did sit down very hard upon the pretty flowers though.” The child stopped her thoughts, she was doing it again she was stating facts that did not matter, and it would not help her talk to her mother if she did this things, why did she do these things?! The child smiled up at her mother as she sniffed the air; yes her mother’s wonderful scent filled her with joy. ”I have a brother?” The child looked up at her mother very much confused, where was he? Was he older?”Dose he live with someone else?” She thought out loud as she looked around, she did not want to leave her mother’s side or she would go looking for him.

Orin watched her daughter. Her eyes were clouded with thought but Orin had no guesses as to the complexity of the running dialogue in Juliet’s young mind. Had she known the way her daughter’s mind focuses in on one thing and then spins out of control while contemplating it she might worry for the child. Then again, it was more likely that she would just assume she was a smart girl, and had an active imagination. Juliet was smart, and was learning to question the world around her. That was a good thing, right?

“For a lot of reasons,” she replied as the pup crawled over the rock and into her lap. She helped her situate comfortably, settling herself with her back against the rock so she could support the both of them. “It depends on the person, and what they’re thinking. Growing up is complicated and sometimes you just can’t stop feeling confused.”

She stared out at the field, watching the beautiful miasma of color sway in the gentle afternoon breeze as the pup breathed an onslaught of questions. Her eyes widened as the girl kept going. It was question after question, without pause, and they were never ending! Orin looked down at the girl, who was still chattering on with curiosities abound.

“Woah woah woah, one at a time, please,” she laughed gently. “First of all, ‘slip’ in the way I used it is a figure of speech. I meant that I said what I did by accident, because I got frustrated and wasn’t thinking as clearly as I should.”

She stroked Juliet’s head gently as she continued, “Sometimes I accidentally call you Takekuro because that is our family name. Your name-“ she tapped her gently on the nose is Juliet Moonsong because that is what I named you - same with Titania. But sometimes I think of you by my name, because you are my daughter.”

Her arms wrapped around the girl and she pulled her close, holding her tightly, lovingly. “And yes, you had a brother. I think you are old enough to know about him now, and I think it will help you understand a little bit more about the world.”

“You and Titania weren’t the only ones in your litter - I gave birth to three puppies. His name was Demetrius Takekuro-Menue, and he was big and strong. But he doesn’t live with anyone anymore. He stayed with your father for a while because he needed him, and I had you and Titania to look out for me, but now he is with everyone.”

“You know some of the stories with bad guys, right? Some of the fairy tails I’ve told you, like the witch in Hanzel and Gretel? Well, they’re not all fantasy,” she sighed softly, looking down at her daughter, wondering if she understood where she was going with this. “A bad guy, a monster, hurt your brother. That is why we don’t see him any more, but he is still here in Cercatori d’Arte. And that’s why I am always so scared when I can’t find you - I worry that a monster got you too.”

The child promised her-self to work on understanding these adult more. She wasn’t sure how to go about that. The Moonsong princess would have to talk to the pack members around here to understand why adult talked in such a way that made everything so much more confusing. They spoke with riddles and words to her ears and mind that just didn’t seem to click right with her. She knew that words meant one thing and not another, words should not be used for things that they did not mean. That was just not nice to do that to her beloved words.
The child nuzzled her mother’s hand as it helped her find her mother’s warm furry lap as she laid down on her mother’s lap, finding that soft to cuddle into her for a story. Juliet just hoped that this story didn’t have a lot of words that stood in place of what was really said.

Her mother’s voice was soft and the child hoped she was joking around, but it was hard to tell if she was just picking on her because she asked so many questions, or if she was laughing at her making fun of her to hurt her feeling for asking so many, she just was plain bad at figuring these things out! The child gave a soft yelp as she tried to push her head under her mother’s under arm, it was dark there, and where there was darkness the laughs couldn’t reach her.

She felt her mother’s exhale, she pulled her head back a bit, her ears fanned up as she waited to hear what her mother had to say before she made her next move. Then her mother stated to answer her question about the last name, the child pulled her head out and lid it down upon the furry lap of her mother, though the crook of her mother’s arm was much more welcoming then out here where all the mean laughs could get to her.
The very “G” rated version of what happened to her brother came out of her mother’s mouth, now how could be gone and yet still be all around here. The child looked up at her mother utterly lost; she couldn’t help her spews of questions. These series of questions just sort of come to her, and Juliet knew it would drive her utterly mad if she didn’t put them out for them to be answered. ”Mommaaa!!” The child offered up a whine of protest as the questions came from her mouth.”If we can’t find him around the pack lands, and yet he is with everyone then why haven’t I meet him? Dose Tita know about him? Should I tell her that he have a brother that we can play with now? When will I get to meet him, if he is around everyone, then I would really like to play with him.” The child’s mouth just didn’t seem to want to stop.

She gave a soft huff as she lowered her head butting it into her mother’s arm.”But I’m not a baby anymore! You’ve got to let me play with my-self sometimes! I have never lied to you! Have I? Should I try to find other places to play? I thought the flowers would be okay, after all there isn’t much here other then the flowers.” The child confessed softly.

Well, what the hell did she expect, a magical moment between mother and daughter, where their eyes interlocked and the little girl would just somehow magically understand what she was trying to say? Perhaps complete it with a loving hug, both walking away with love and understanding in their hearts? Frankly, yes, that is exactly what Orin thought would happen. But instead she got questions, and all she could do was stare down at the pup while she was assaulted by inquiry after inquiry.

For a moment she stared at her sandy shaded pup, feeling a little disheartened by the questions. Of course she would have questions, any pup would have questions about what she’d just told her daughter. And, after all, this was Juliet – her own daughter, and one of the most curious children she’s ever met.

Look what you’ve gotten yourself in to, she lamented internally. Yet after the passing of a beat, she perked up. Juliet just wanted to know about her world, and it wasn’t fair of Orin to confuse her with riddles. Questions were a good thing, what kind of mother would she be if she discouraged them?

“I guess I’m doing that thing that adults do to you again,” she smiled at her progeny and patted her apologetically. “You have met your brother, you just can’t remember because you were so young. I carried you three in my belly for months, and then after you were born you had a few days together before he died.” She tried the direct approach, hoping this would get through to Juliet. “Titania can’t remember either, and she doesn’t know yet, but I think it is a very good idea to tell her about him.

“I’m sorry baby, but you can’t play with him anymore,” she stroked Juliet’s scruff. “He died, his body isn’t here anymore. But we have the memory of him, and we have his story, and that lives on with us. That is what I mean when I say he is here with us… And some people, even me and your father, think his spirit is still with us, even though we can’t see his body anymore.”

At times, her voice grew thick with emotion, and her eyes became glittering jewels as she told her first born daughter about the son she lost. Then Juliet had a little outburst and Orin once again was taken back. The little girl even butted her head into her arm and everything… What a little live wire!

“I know you’re not a baby anymore, but you’re not grown up yet either,” she pointed out, realizing that she was starting to lose her patience. Orin did her best to nurture her daughters, but she herself could be quite stubborn and immature, and Juliet seemed to know how to heat her up pretty quickly. “You can’t defend yourself if someone were to tresspass on our land. If a bad man found you and wanted to hurt you and no one was around he could do whatever he wanted. I couldn’t bare it if something happened to you. The flowers are a good place to play as long as we know you’re here.”

She leaned over, arching herself over Juliet and gathering the child up to her in a tight hug… that is, if the little girl let her. Who knows how Juliet would respond to this authority.
