Markus had come up to the mountains alone to think for a while. Eva was in the care of Reed and Francois, and he trusted his brother not to let her be corrupted too much by their wild friend. He wasn't quite used to the rocky terrain, or the looming shadow hanging over his head, but the view was terrific, and the silence up hear was infinite. Only the sound of wind whistling over rocks, or birds crying over head could be heard, and Markus wasn't about to break the solitude himself, so he sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed it.
He regretted not bringing his panpipe, or his harp. Either one would have sounded beautiful, echoing over the mountains, but then he'd have had to leave behind the bottle of scotch, and he didn't particularly want to do that. It was a ritual of his, one he rarely indulged in; steal a bottle from Elias' stash--his bags were there with Reed and Fran's just like everyone else's--and drink himself stupid for an hour or so before he went back. It had been a long while, even before his escapades with Aisling, that he'd felt the need to; now, however...well, he had quite a lot to think about. And no particular reason to do any of that in this moment.
With a hearty sigh and a silent thanks to Reed and Fran for keeping Eva for a few hours, he uncapped the bottle and took a swig. And then another.
It was going to be a long night.
