Taliesin saw Deuce about to cry and decided that the ring, while shiny, was not something he wanted. He snatched it up in his mouth and bolted off; he stopped a dozen yards off and started digging. Something in his mind told him that underground was the perfect place to hide something, and so he he dug. After he had made a hole of sufficient size he place the ring inside of it and buried it as best as he could. That accomplished Tal ran back to Deuce and rubbed against her to that she knew that it was it was alright.
Tal yawned again and laid across her paw. "Love you mum" he cooed as he started to drift off. His tiny puppy battery had run itself to the end and he was going to crash any second. That's how pups went, zoom zoom zoom then boom, they were out like a shot light.

Deuce didn't move as Tal took the ring and raced off with it. She wouldn't ask where he buried it, she wouldn't ask where it went. It was best left alone. the past was best left alone. When he came back, rubbing against her she nuzzled him tenderly, tears still shimmering in her bi-colored eyes. She'd be okay. they'd be okay.

Love you too, taliesin... She stroked his fur as he drifted off. The she picked him up gently, cradling him in her arms like a human baby, and took him back to the manor to lay him in one of the rooms. Naniko would find him there. He'd be okay. they all would.
