For Caspa c: Set that the hotel

It was not often that the young lovely Lady Chance made her presence known at the hotel, but today she decided it would be lucrative. She knew there were some books in the hotel and perhaps she could find some interesting stories there to tell to her children now that they were a bit older. Oh, it was crazy to think of how big they had gotten! Princess could not believe how rapidly time had passed since she and Haven had brought them into the world.

Sweeping into the hotel gracefully with her long pink dress flowing around lithe legs, the young woman moved into the main room of the hotel, golden gaze searching the book shelves along the far wall. She started out looking at story books, but soon she found another that interested her, a large picture of a human hand, palm facing the reader, adorning the cover. Pulling it from the shelf, she looked at it with interest.

High summer, and Caspa was hardly ever inside, loving that she could roam free under the sun without need for cover or layers of cloth and leather for warmth. Her fine fur was not built for the winter weather. She visited the hotel room from time to time though, to make sure mice hadn't stolen in through the broken window to nibble her leatherwork. Today she was on her way down and out to the front door, despite a little cloud cover that meant the temperature did not really vary inside or out, when an elaborate pink vision breezed into view - a woman in a long dress, browsing through the books. Caspa had never seen her before, and had a strange instinct to curtsey. "You can read those?" she said wistfully. She only read her family's long looping script, the letters in these books didn't mean anything to her. "Sorry, I have interrupted." she apologised, taking a step back towards the door as if prepared to leave at a moment's notice.

Though she might have been with a different upbringing, Princess was not a social butterfly. Most members of the kingdom were unknown to her and truth be told, she was not heartbroken about it. The woman hardly made an effort to make friends, after all. She did not even know who, exactly, lived in the old hotel, so she did not know who she might run into. Thankfully, there was no one in the kingdom that she disliked, so she was not worried.

Absorbed in the strange book as she was, the young Lady Chance did not notice Caspa's approach until she spoke, causing Princess to twirl around quickly. "Oh!" she breathed, one hand fluttering to her breast in surprise. "I'm sorry, you startled me," she said quickly, feeling as though she might offend the woman if she did not apologize for the strange reaction. "Please, don't feel as if you have to leave." Though she wasn't always very social, Princess didn't wish to be isolated from the rest of the pack.

Princess tucked the book under her arm, intending to take it with her, before sweeping across the room so that she could speak to the dog woman freely. "I'm Princess Chance," she said elegantly. "Can you not read? I know many cannot," she added, not wanting to make the woman feel like something was wrong with her.

The lady - for she could be referred to in no other way - was graceful and debonair in movement, and Caspa warmed to her immediately. She too was not much for socialising, preferring to spend her hours alone working on her mental and dexterity skills, and perhaps some of her attraction to the stranger was a recognition of kindred spirit. Of course, Caspa had very few physical graces, and would never dress up so beautifully. "I'm Caspa Al-Fateh," she returned, a rare occasion this where she included her family name. It was a mark of respect. Then she added with a perfectly straight face, although she wasn't entirely sure that the title 'princess' was a real title - wasn't that reserved for girl-pups? - "your highness." Only one who knew her well would have seen the twinkle of play in her deep eyes. "I can both read and write, but not this script. I was taught a different alphabet." It had been presented to her as the only one, something that annoyed her a little, and would have annoyed her more if she had been the kind of wolf to have spare time to kill. Caspa had no room in her life for reading for pleasure, but she would have been excited to learn of books that might go deeper into the mystical art of meditation that she had been practicing for several months now.

A small smile played at the corners of the Lady's delicate lips at the formal address she hardly deserved, though once she would have thought she deserved nothing less. "My mother did not have a knack for names, but I think I got off easy, considering what she named her son," she said, her mind turning her greyscale brother into a figure only linked to Tokyo. After he had abandoned her the way he had, Princess had grieved greatly, but the pain had turned to anger and then to indifference. Even his name had reverted in her mind from the one he had given himself back to the one their wretch of a mother had titled him. He was once again Buttface Chance, while she would always be the lovely Princess Chance.

As a woman with little to do and pups that were rapidly growing, Princess found it increasingly easy to find time to read. Of course, she had never been very busy in the first place. Though she knew that other alphabets existed, just as other languages did, she knew she was unable to read them, something that bothered her because she loathed being unable to do something. She lived up to her name in personality. Most of the books in the area were in the one she could read, thankfully. "What do you do with your free time, then, if most books here seem to be in this alphabet?" She was a delicate woman who hardly had to lift a finger; her mate provided for her nicely.

so sorry this is short! Pressed for time Sad

The grace of Princess's reply made Caspa a little regretful of her almost-teasing address. "It is a name well carried," she said, wishing to make amends with some graciousness of her own - and simple honest observation, too. "I travel about a lot - mostly within these borders, though. And I do a lot of nothing at all," she finished mysteriously, not really sure how to explain her meditation practice, taught to her by the wolf from Dahlia de Mai. "How about yourself - how does such an elegant lady spend her time?"
