The woman had not wanted to leave, she had not wished to abandon her pack in these times of need. But the Church woman had an obligation to her family, to her blood and those bond stronger then blood ties. She had promised her mate that things would be alright, and that she would return without resting. And so she left.
In her lupus form she trailed light and swiftly, through the dark of night and in the opposite direction of the pack Crimson Dreams was now in war with. It wasn't until the woman left the pack borders that she felt the true weight of the tragedy. Her mother, the one whom had always stayed by her side, was gone. She had been ripped from their lives and taken as a hostage. Wrongfully so.
Bronze and earthen hued fur waved in the air as she sprinted through territory that was all too familiar. She had made it many times, but kept her senses in-tuned to enemies that could be lurking.
Her sadness was matched by her anger, guilt, and pain. Mati had stayed behind during the fighting. She had stayed for her mate, and for those that could not fight. She had tired to help Cambria, and though she was not trained in healing she was an able bodied assistant and could carry and assist the wounded. It was all while Anu had been stolen away from them. And when her mother had not been brought back with the group that left for AniWaya Mati had turned to the one she had always leaned on.
The border of the Court was dismissed, but as the dawn rose and the sun began to scatter the dark Mati threw up her head and gave the long ominous call that searched for anyone that knew her voice.
