Borderlines <3 WC:8+

The male had been working with his horse, making sure that he would be able to use her for riding and pulling a cart if need be. However it was becoming quite clear to the silver male that he was going to have his work cut out for him with Marie. He was able to ride her bare back, every time he placed anything else upon her bare back she would snort and kick madly, and the mare would not stop till whatever was placed upon her back was off. This mare seemed to have quite a mind of her own, and she had no wish to have anything other than the wolf upon her back.

The male had made sure to leave the day free to spend with his horse and work on getting some saddle breaking done on her; he was slightly scared about how Marie was going to act. She was always good in temperament with him and him alone; however he normal just slipped onto her bare back and the male would ride her just like that. Since he had been adding the weight of the saddle blanket and the saddle the mare had lowered her head and kicked her rear hoofs up into the sky.

The silver male walked towards the mare that was tied to a tree as she gave a soft neigh and pushed out her nose toward his one hand. The male gave a nervous twitch as he turned to where he had placed the saddle blanket. He could hear the stop of the mare’s hoofs upon the ground, as she watched him. Noah knew that she was telling him that she would not allow that upon her back for any amount of time. He flicked his one ear back as he held up the old, thick saddle blanket. Moving slowly Noah did not want to spook Marie or upset her in any way.
Walking slowly over to his horse the male put one hand upon her neck while the stub plopped the blanket upon her. Giving a soft pat upon her neck Noah gave a soft sigh, feeling maybe a little too hopeful a little too soon. Turning his back to get the saddle, he heard a soft thud upon the ground. Looking up to the mare he glared at her. Really?! Really?! Must she be such a pain? The male dropped the saddle upon the ground as he pointed to her. ”You!” That was all that he needed to say, the mare knew that he was just about to the end of his patience with her. ”Fine!” the male threw up his hand. He brought the hand down to his side, shaking his head. Talking back over to the pole he had tied her to. The male picked up the band that would be used for pulling a cart.

The sounds from the challenging mare were alerting Noah that she was ready to be done. With a snort from the wolf he shook his head, as he walked over to the mare, placing the band upon her. Marie started to snort and kick, her head snug back trying to nip Noah. He laughed, giving her head a soft push away. ”Nope.” pulling the band tighter so it would not slip around he buckled it back up, checking the flares where the bars for the cart would be, but for today it was going to be where the male placed his feet.

Slipping her reigns off the pole he held on it with his good hand while his stub reached around her neck. He pulled him-self onto her back, adjusting his weight upon her back the male slipped his feet into the flairs as he gave her a soft kick as he gingerly pull her head towards the neutral lands. Ever thing was going smoothly, she wasn’t fighting him, and she wasn’t trying to even nip him. It was dreams come true! Maybe he had finally gotten it into her thick head that they needed to work together.

The male thought to soon, she gave a huff and a stomp of her front hoof, and they were off. She was kicking and running, doing everything in her power to toss him off her back. The male had no choice but to quickly rock his weight over her neck pushing his rump off the back of the mare. The male wolf gripped into the golden mane, he wasn’t going to get tossed off this ride!
Running till the male wasn’t sure which way was north or south, he knew to push his head onto her mane and allow her to run her heart out and then make her turn around and go where he wanted to. Then all the sudden the mare had stopped and rocked forward pushing her head down at the same time. Noah was flung forward, onto the hard ground. He wasn’t sure what hurt more, his rear or his pride. Jumping up the male looked to the mare; she was holding her head up in stupid pride. Noah grabbed her harness putting her face into his, one word that he was able to mutter to her though his rage. ”Butthead!” He snorted holding his face to her forehead.

Yay for Noah and Robin friendship Smile

The little female knew that she was being naughty, she couldn't help it though, she had been to the stables every day to see the golden skinned mare with the pale mane and tail. Every day she had gone and sat with her, petted her soft nose and giggled as she snuffled at her own multicoloured mane, she had been every day to tell her stories of her adventures and the mare had listened with patience and what seemed to be enjoyment. The little female had become very fond of her and so this morning she had snuck into the stables, her Optime form was becoming more familiar now, she was no longer wobbling as she walked and had even begun to manage small bursts of running and skipping, the little patchwork girl was overjoyed to be able to use this form now, she was much more confident with it now, she was finally getting the hang of it. This confidence had also brought an idea to her mind, she had mentioned it casually to her father this morning, muttering the second part of her plan quietly so that he knew where she was going, but perhaps not quite what she was going to do. With this she had bounded out of the house, racing toward the stables as fast as her young legs would carry her, only tripping once this time, maaging to catch herself before she tumbled head over heels. Soon she found herself at the stables, she bounced through quickly, grinning as she saw the mare's familiar face hanging over the stable door, she seemed to have been anticipating Robin's visit. With another grin the small girl walked over to the large mare, the patient female still dwarfing her little friend, she raised a muted gray hand and rested it on the mare's large nose, the pale female snuffled at the girl's other hand which was held just below her mouth, accepting the handful of grass that the girl was holding out for her. She smiled at the mare, stroking her nose softly, looking at the female's large liquid eyes, there was no fear in her eyes now, she was comfortable around the patchwork girl, the little female dared to hope that she was as fond of her as the young wolf was of her. She leant closer to the mare's ear and whispered conspiratorally, "Daddy says I can have my own horse if I want, but I mustn't ride one without any supervision... I have chosen you! I have even picked a name for you, I think you should be called Scarlett, what do you think?" The patchwork adventurer whispered, the mare gave a small whinny, which made Robin bounce up and down excitedly, she was sure that that meant that she liked the name. The girl had selected it with care, taking it from her favourite book, Will Scarlett was one of Robin Hood's merry men, one of his most trusted friends and fellow cohort, this would suit her plans for the mare completely. The little fae knew that the horse could not understand her speech, although she always seemed to show signs of it, perhaps she understood more than she would admit. The little patchwork female grinned and began telling Scarlett of her day, telling her all of her adventures since she had last seen the mare, with proper embellishment of course, she did not want it to get boring for the golden skinned mare after all.

Soon she tired of telling stories, she smiled at the mare and whispered again, "I haven't seen Noss around so he wont get grumpy, would you like to come with a walk with me? You can see all the adventures I have. Would you like that Scarlett?" Again the mare let out a whinny, which the patchwork girl took to be a resounding yes, again she bounced up and down with excitement, clapping her hands together.
"Oh we're going to have so much fun Scarlett, just you want and see!" She exclaimed, the mare tossed her head at this, seeming to be nodding, which only delighted the patchwork girl more. She bounded off through the stable hall, finding a halter on a nail of an empty stall, she paced back to the mare and gently slipped it over her head, the mare stood still, lowering her large head so that the little female could reach properly. Little gray fingers worked carefully, albeit a little clumsily as she placed the halter collar on the female, doing up the buckles carefully, she felt she was doing rather well, she was working from her memories of seeing Noss and her father halter the horses around here. After a few tangled sections of the soft rope the little female finally managed to get the halter on the right way around and done up properly, carefully she tied a section of rope onto the loop attatched to the base of the collar, holding onto it tightly she heaved on the stiff lock of the door, soon it came loose and the heavy door swung open and the tall mare was free. Another horse might have bolted out at this point, dragging the little multicoloured female through the stable and out into the grassy lands beyond, luckily for the little fae, who had not really thought of the dangers letting a horse out might have posed, the mare was calm and patient, stepping out of her stall slowly, moving to snuffle at the female again, seeming pleased to finally be close enough to do this properly. The pair walked out slowly, Robin leading, the mare walking slightly behind her, nudging the girl's patchwork shoulder every now and again as they walked, seeming to be trying to reassure the little female that she was still following her, though that doubt had not crossed the little girl's mind, this mare was part of her merry men now, she would not leave her.

Soon the pair had walked quite a way, the mare now walking beside her new owner, Robin talked constantly, explaining all of the things that they were seeing as they passed them, telling Scarlett of her adventures and showing her all of the places that they had taken place, Scarlett watched her with her liquid brown eyes, seeming to be taking in what she was saying, adding small whinnies and nickers every now and again, pausing here and there to snatch leaves from nearby trees or grass from the ground, chewing as they walked. It was not long before she suddenly let out a snort of surprise, beginning to drum her hooves on the ground nervously, Robin looked in the direction the mare was staring, seeing the misbehaving horse toss the grey male from her back.
"Oh dear, we better go and check he's alright Scarlett!" The little girl exclaimed, beginning to walk towards the male, Scarlett stood still though, snorting, showing that she was uncomfortable. The little female raised a muted grey hand to the female's nose and then her neck, stroking her softly.
"Come now, we must have courage, he might be really hurt, we have to go and help him, even if he is a stranger, he wont hurt you, I wont let him." She said, trying to comfort the startled horse, slowly the mare began to follow Robin, her steps still too slow and cautious for the patchwork girl's liking. But eventually they reached the pair, she watched the male tell his horse off and giggled slightly, it was funny to see a grown male give such a childish answer.
"Hello there, are you alright?" She asked, stroking Scarlett's neck gently as she did so, the mare was still unnerved and the little girl was trying to calm her, she didn't want their first outing together to be a bad experience for the cream female.

4+. I pp some if you don't like it please let me know. I have no issues changing it.

It wasn’t that Marie was a bad horse, really she wasn’t. Marie well she just had a mind of her own, and had no issues what so ever proving to any one and every one that she was her own free being. The grey male playfully pushed the mare’s head away as his hand slid down her side undoing the band that went around her chest. The mare reached back and nipped at him, again telling him in her own way that she did not want to wear anything other than a bridal with a lead rope that could be doubled as reigns for riding. Other then that the mare had no issues; she was wonderful around Amzi, the cougar cub that Noah took in.

Noah pushed her head away again. ”Hold on!” The male demanded from the mare. Noah undid the band that was going around her chest, and as soon as the mare felt it come undone she took the band in her mouth and tossed it to the side and then started to stomp on it with her hoof. ”Hey!” Noah scolded the mare as he moved over to there the band now laid in the dirt as he pushed the mare away from the band. Picking up the band the male slipped it over his stud of an arm holding it up to inspect it. The male was happy to see that she did not put any holes in the band. Giving it a shake the male shook his head as he flipped the band over his shoulder. Turning back to the mare the male slipped the reigns over her head and untie the slip knot, making what was reins now a lead rope.

A soft little voice, spoke to him, he wasn’t going crazy already was he? Turning his head he saw the child standing there with a horse of her own. How cute. Noah went down to one knee as he looked to the lass. Noah gave a nod as he looked at the child with his one good eye. Noah gave a soft nod with a smile, it was sweet that the child and her horse came to check upon him.”Thanks.” He took her hand softly in his one good hand, bringing her hand to his mouth as he placed a soft kiss upon her hand.”Noah.” He spoke softly to the child as he brought her hand down. Bringing her hand down to the height it was when he picked it up, he let go of her soft fur. The child was cute.

Noah is such a gentleman Big Grin

The little patchwork girl wondered if perhaps she should be more cautious around this male, after all she had no idea who he was, he might be a baddie marauding around the lands, she could smell a pack on him, but she had no idea which pack it was, the little adventurer had not managed to wander very far out of the lands so far, her legs were still little and she knew that until she was older she had to stay by the pack, keeping protected from any bigger and meaner baddies. The male had fallen from his horse though and the little female was too good natured, she wanted to make sure that he was alright before she decided that he was a baddie, he didn't look much like a baddie, this much was true. She noticed that the male had only one arm and one eye, his ear was tattered and torn as well and he was adorned with scars, he looked more like he had been terribly unlucky rather than a baddie, but perhaps he had gotten these scars by having battles with good wolves around the lands, but he didn't seem like a baddie, he seemed quiet and retiring, all of the baddies she had read about went around in groups and attacked people that way. She didn't think this male seemed the type to be a baddie, he nodded as she asked if he was alright and thanked her, the trademark Robin smile stretched across her lips as he said this, she was glad that he was alright, she didn't like to think that he would have been hurt in his tumble from the horse, even though it seemed that he was accustomed to being injured from the look of him. The male then took her muted grey hand in his much larger one, pressing his lips to it, the little female blushed, she had heard of wolves introducing themselves this way but had never experienced it herself, it brought out a momentary shyness in the little female, something that was completely out of character for the little female, she was usually outgoing and rather a little too friendly for her own good; but at this moment she could not help but blush, when he released her hand she turned away for a moment, burying her face in Scarlett's neck, watching him with her large blue eyes shyly, finally after a moment she regained her usual bouncy disposition.

The male's name was Noah it seemed, she grinned at him, giving a little mock bow she spoke, "Hello Noah, it is nice to meet you, my name is Robin, Robin Aatte." She looked up at the male, craning her neck to see his face properly, she smiled at him, looking at his scars, wondering how he had gotten them, but she would not ask about them yet, her father had told her that it was rude to start conversations by asking people what was wrong with them, so she didn't ask, just as she had not asked Caspa where her ears were. The pale mare gave a whinny and nudged Robin's shoulder, she seemed to have calmed down considerably, but was still watching the grey male with cautious eyes, "Oh, this is Scarlett, she's the newest member of my gang," the patchwork girl added, patting Scarlett's neck as she did so. The mare was quiet now, occasionally tossing her head as she watched the male, but all in all seeming a lot quieter, she was getting good at explaining to Robin what she required, the little fae had instantly assumed that she wished to be introduced, it seemed the large mare and the little female wolf had a connection now, they were beginning to understand one another; the little female was exceptionally glad of this, she wanted Scarlett to be her number one ally in the fight against evil, well perhaps number three after her daddy and Linden, but this required the mare to be able to understand the small girl as well as they did, so far it seemed to be going well.
"I live here in Cour Des Miracles, where are you from Noah? And why did you come here? Not that I mind you being here." Robin asked, adding the last part hastily as not to offend the male, she grinned at him again, Scarlett shifted her weight and leant forward to sniff the grey male, it seemed the mare was sizing him up.

The child’s smile warmed the male’s heart. He wasn’t the best one every to have a family and raise children, however the male could never turn away any one that came to him with a kind smile or a kind word or two to say. Nothing could ever match the happiness in a child’s eye when something they wanted or hadn’t expected turned out to be good for them. That was worth all the pain or time that he would had spent into this bullheaded mare.
With his lips touching the little lady’s hand he could feel the warmth suddenly rushing off her face. The male looked down as he tried with all of his might to hold back the chuckle that he found him-self wanting to bust out into the world. He couldn’t recall when someone had actually blushed with he spoke to them, normally they were annoyed when he talked and stutters upon his words, he was trying to just saying one or two words and then leaving it.
Noah was seeing by doing that his words didn’t get broken nearly as bad, she smiled at the little lady again. ”Aatte hmm?” the male said as he rubbed his chin. The silver stargazer couldn’t help but to wonder if Soran had know her family named had reached out this far. Though it wasn’t like they had talk much about her whole family, she wanted to know about the red coated leader that Noah once lived under.

The male looked at the child as she watched him, he hated when other’s looked at his scars only to wonder who he had gotten into a fight with, and of course who was the winner. Ever one seemed to think that he must love fights with all the marks laced all over his body. The male gulped as she went on showing the male her horse. Taking the mare by the reigns the stargazer looked at the fire kissed horse. Noah began expecting her, moving her lips apart looking into her mouth, at her teeth. Then he pulled her head down to him, rubbing her face has he looked into her eyes, they were nice and white and not a hint of grey to them. The big eyes of the mare went soft as a mother’s for a child when Noah pointed her head toward the child. That pleased the male. What type of being would he be if he allowed the child to take on something as strong willed as Marie with her young age? The silver male then bent back down running a hand over the mare’s legs and looking at her hoofs. Not bad, however the child was going to have to learn how to care for them if she was expecting to keep this creature in good health for the maximum amount of time. Standing back up to his full height, the male handed the mare’s reigns back to her owner. She was a good match for the child. Noah wouldn’t feel bad for leaving that mare with her, however it wasn’t like he had a choice, the she wolf seemed pretty caught up with the red kissed mare.

Noah wasn’t sure how to tell the child about how he got here. He got on the mare and off she went?! Si the male plastered a silly smile on his face and pointed at the dark brown mare. ” Ichika no Ho-en” He spoke while the mare lifted up her head and stomped her foot upon the ground. The male laughed and shook his head, she was full of will that one was, but he would keep her around they seemed to mesh well.

Veeery cute thread, Noah is lovely Big Grin

The little patchwork girl had recovered from her moment of shyness with her usual quickness, grinning at the male as he spoke to her, he rubbed his chin as he spoke of the Aatte name. She looked up at him with large blue eyes, he already knew her surname! Who had he met that had shared the same name? Perhaps he was her ochre father's friend, the male was a knight after all and often wandered here and there to other packs when he was not busy protecting their own, or perhaps he had come here before to meet the members of Cour Des Miracles and her Daddy had greeted him at the borders? Or maybe he knew the mysterious female that had arrived nearby to the pack not so long ago, the sable woman who had turned out to be her father's grandmother, her father had been uneasy around her, but she herself had thought that the woman had seemed nice enough, it seemed that her grandfather had done something bad, really bad, which had made her daddy cautious of his grandmother, but surely she would not do the same things, the little female remembered her words, she had said that she would rather die than cause harm to any of her family members, surely she could not be all that bad after all, she seemed to love her father after all, baddies didn't seem to love anyone, so she couldn't be a baddie. Sudden curiousity washed over the small patchwork female and she could not help but ask how the male knew her surname, why he had made it seem that it was familiar to him. Her tail wagged with the prospect of meeting one of her Daddy's friends.
"How do you know my surname? Have you met my Daddy? Is that how you know it?" The little fae asked, her tail wagging, watching the male as she looked him over, he wasn't a baddie that her Daddy had fought surely? No, her father would not have hurt anyone that badly and this male did not seem like the kind of male that would attack her homeland. He seemed like a nice wolf, so far he had been nothing but kind and polite to her after all, and Scarlett seemed at ease with him now, she seemed to be a good judge of character in the young female's eyes, after all she had warmed to Robin quickly, so the male could not be bad at all.

The male then took the reins from her, examining Scarlett all over, the female stood patiently, allowing herself to be manhandled, letting out a snort as the male peered into her mouth, but standing still and not attempting to kick or bite the male. She was used to this treatment, the males that worked at the stables had been thorough whenever they had checked her, checking that her mouth was free from any marks or cuts, checking her eyes and legs and feet, it simply seemed to be the way of her fur covered masters. The female had always had a patient nature, despite her young years, being only five, she acted as though she was a much older mare and had a natural maternal instinct, something which had come into effect when she had met the little patchwork girl who came every day to talk to her, she felt that the little female needed protecting, needed a friend and the pale mare had been more than happy to provide this service for the young wolf. Robin watched with interest as the male checked the female horse over, she had never seen it done before and it was fascinating, she wondered what he could tell from looking at her hooves and in her mouth, Scarlett did not seem to mind, but the little female was filled with curiosity. When the reins were handed over to her again she opened the mare's mouth, peering into it, it was mostly empty and uninteresting, except for the pieces of grass that the mare had snatched from the ground only moments before.
"I don't see what you were looking at, why were you looking in her mouth? And why were you looking at her feet?" The little female asked, staring up at the male, Scarlett tossed her head slightly and nudged at the small girl's shoulder again before lowering her head to chew on yet more grass, the small patchwork girl assumed that she often did not get grass, she had never seen the pale horse outside of her stable, so she didn't mind the female munching away, although she could not understand how she liked grass, Robin had tried it and it was vile. The male pointed at his horse and then said that he was from Ichika Ho-en, the little female nodded, she did not know where this pack was, but she had heard of it before, she just knew that it was a long way away. She smiled at the horse and waved, "hello Noah's horsey!" She called in greeting, just as she had done for Scarlett and for Rem when she had met them, she smiled at the mare as she recieved a whinny in reply, Scarlett raised her head and neighed back at her, it seemed the mares were chatting.

The child was full of many questions; Noah couldn’t help but to give a chuckle as her baby blue eyes shimmered in the light when he had repeated her family name. The silver male wasn’t sure if the two females where related to each other, but he had meet Soran and she had shared the name last name, as this child.

At the question if she knew her father, the silver male was lost. She had a father? Well of course she did silly how else could she be living? God’s grace? How foolish for him to forget about a father figure being around in the child’s life. The male smiled shaking his head no, he wasn’t even sure what her father’s name is, he could have meet him a while ago, but he wasn’t able to recall any one other then Soran with the Aatte name. The male looked to the young lady’s eyes as he hunted for a key that she was related to Soran, but he wasn’t able to find it in her. Soran Aatte?” the male had hoped that the child would have a small idea of her family line. If not, he had just had allowed him-self to look like an utter fool to the young lady.

”Oh.” The male thought about how he could tell her without his words getting all messed up and a way that he wouldn’t be fighting with his mind to process the words that he knew was right. ”Make sure healthy.” Three words, he knew that was his limit unless he wanted to start the strutting fit. He hated that he had to pick his words and picked just when to say them, it was more of a task then what it was worth.

The male pointed back to the mare that brought him here, ”Marie.” He was referring to her name, or at least the name that he had given her.

Thank you so much for this table, I LOVE it Big Grin WC: 929

The little female watched the male as he was obviously deep in thought, perhaps he did not know her father after all? But then now did he know of her surname? The little female looked at him with curiousity in her eyes as he was obviously trying to recall her father, he wasnot an easily forgettable male, he was rather brightly coloured after all, being almost completely ochre coloured with a few white patches, much like her brother. He was hard to miss when he was across the lands, the tall broad male was a stark contrast to the lush green of the grasses, perhaps now that autumn was nearing he might begin to blend in a little more, Robin wondered for a moment if that was why he was that colour, why she shared some of his bright orange colouration, perhaps they were supposed to do their best hunting when the leaves were orange and red as well? The girl had already seen a few of the leaves changing and had gone to read up on it, now she understood that the leaves changed in the winter, but she was not quite sure why. She was looking forward to being camoflauged against the foliage though, this was something that she didn't manage to be very often at all. She rather liked her red patches, although after meeting her father's grandmother she could not see where both he, her brother and herself had gotten their reddish pelts from, she had never met her great grandfather who had been both bright red and a psychopath, nor had she met her grandfather, Conri who was the wolf that had given her the bright patch on her chest, he had passed on his colouration to his son, if the young girl had met any of her aunts or uncles she might have understood a little more how they could be the way they were, there seemed to be a split from her great grandmother, half of them looking like her and half looking like their father. The sable female had passed her green eyes onto her father though, the little female had recognised that immediately. Then the silver male spoke the words that brought sense to the little female, the sable lady that had arrived on the beach that day had been her father's grandmother and she had been named Soran, that was how the silver male knew her then! Her brow furrowed for a moment, the green eyed matriarch was a confusing subject for the patchwork girl, her father had seemed so at unease with her, but the young girl had never seen any problem with her.
“Oh yes, she is my... erm... great... grandmother. She's my Daddy's grandmother, at least that was what she said.” The small patchwork girl replied, wrinkling her nose as she tried to figure out what the dark pelted female was to her now, she thought that she had gotten the right relation there, it was confusing when you got into your parent's grandparents.

She nodded as the male explained that he had been checking that Scarlett was healthy, he was a male of very little words, she wondered why he was like that. He didn't seem to be the shy kind, but he did not like to form long sentences it seemed, or even medium length sentences, the mare let out a soft whinny and nudged at the girl's shoulder, seeming to comfirm what the male was saying in the small girl's opinion. She gazed at the one eyed male and smiled.
"How do you tell that she's healthy from looking in her mouth and at her feet? Do horses get diseases in those places?" The little female asked, although she loved Scarlett dearly she had yet to ask for any advice about keeping her, then again it seemed that back at the stables there was always an adult there to take care of everything so that Robin didn't have to. But she was keen to learn, after all she would soon be a grown up herself and would need to be able to care for the pale mare, especially if she was going to be an adventurer, if they were out on travels, exploring the lands for days at a time she needed to know how to care for the mare who she had gained such a bond with. She asked the male because she wanted to know, she had a thirst for knowledge, she wanted to know everything about everything and quickly at that. The little female intended to be wise in the ways of the world and so she needed all the information she could possibly get. She looked at the male's horse again, it seemed that he kept her in very good condition, he would indeed be the right male to ask about these things, she was sure that Noss could teach her as well, but he was very grumpy and this male was here right now, she didn't need to go and seek him out, her Daddy would be able to help her as well, but he was very busy at the moment, he wouldn't have time, she was sure. The silver male introduced the horse to her and a smile crossed her face, "hello there Marie!" She called out then, grinning at the horse. She turned back to Noah and grinned at him, bouncing slightly from foot to foot as she looked at him.
"How long have you had Marie?" She asked, her inquisitive nature once again showing itself.
