Healing touch

OOC: Predated August 25th. this is going to be slightly awkward.

The pain was immense and he wasn't able to climb the steps to get Orin to help him. The terrace was far too tall for him to climb up and he didn't want his daughters to see. He had to face up and go to Sky. The man would have to face her sooner or later, but he's hoped it was later, mostly because he'd actually asked Orin if he could court her. He wasn't sure how he would react to Sky, he still had so many feelings for the woman, but he knew he wasn't going to be her mate.

Holding his side, which was still seeping blood from the knife wound he moved through the forest into Thornbury. He had many scratches from Rurik's claws, though his right cheek and bottom jaw were the most in need of attention. Shawchert got off lucky. He didn't have as many injuries as the other man. He walked up Sky's steps and knocked, leaning on the side of the door. It was pitch dark out, he was sure she'd be in bed. It wasn't his fault the creep had to wait till night fall to do all this stuff.

WC:000+ - This post sucks. .-.

Sky? Sleep? The two words just didn't go together. The young medic was up late again, browsing through her books in search of something or another. The knock at the door didn't get a reaction at first, but after a moment she looked up, ears perked. She'd been in her livingroom, in the front of the house, so it didn't take long for the girl to peak out the front window and spy the injured ex standing on her porch. Or rather, leaning.

She opened the door with a mixture of worry and annoyance. You've been picking fights again. Beating up poor Taliesin wasn't enough for you? Oh goodie, she was angry about that. Her worry for him changed into something more solid, more hidden. She paused in her anger and leaned forward, ears perking again. ...loner scent? A spark of anxiety flashed in her eyes and the hate disappeared.

Get inside.

She came around behind him and moved to push him through the door carefully, eyes on the surrounding area and fur on end. As soon as both were inside, she closed, locked and blinded the front door. God knows what sort of sickness that thing might've had. Get over to the stairs and sit. I'll patch you up and you can leave come morning. Sky's voice was leaving very little room for argument as she veered around him and into the cabinet beside the staircase, tail ruffled and ears pinned back.

When she came back over to him, she had a medical kit the size of a travel bag with her, one she quickly unfolded and rummaged through. Does Orin expect you back soon? If so, I can go fill her in once you're stitched. There's no way you're getting into those trees looking like this. She murmured something under her breath, something about dogs not supposed to be climbing trees like monkeys. Ever the crazy one, Sky.

As expected Sky came with a serpent tongue and of course the first thing that came out of her mouth was a comment about Tal. Yes of course he was sure they would be mates soon, but that bothered Shawchert little. He was expecting it. Knew the second Tal had grabbed him down below and twisted... how shaw could have been so slow and unable to protect such an area.... Well he beat himself up for it. Now he had protected the pack as he was meant to, and she automatically thought he picked a fight with Taliesin, in which he'd not thrown the first punch though he had thrown slanderous words, but Taliesin had started the argument, Shawchert wasn't about to let it go unfinished. He gritted his teeth. Just think about the girls, he thought as he allowed her to push him in. He had lost a good deal of blood so he was slightly in a state of shock. He wasn't about to argue with her, and wasn't about to defend himself, he'd done plenty of that today already.

"I do not think she expects me, no, but we did make a ramp for the girls, it's easy to climb that, just stitch me up. He had a knife, not much I could do, better there than full in the belly like it could have been."

He said, his words were mixed as though she'd said the things she did in opposite. He was not sure what she said first or last, nor which other way around, he just wanted to be pain free at the moment... though he didn't know what she could do for him

"Tried burning tree... stopped him..."

His words were slurring, and he was feeling as though he were not a part of his own body anymore. He felt distant, yet he could see much of what was going on. He was only satisfied he'd hurt the man more than the man had hurt him. His back would probably fester and Shaw felt sorry for the man, but only for a little while... the while it took for his adrenaline to dissipate and his pain to come searing to the surface.

WC:000+ - Slowly getting over it...

He tried to protest. She gave him props for mentioning the ramp and all, but the girl still frowned when he told her how to do her job. You got off lucky, sure, but that doesn't mean I'm about to send you home battered and broken. I'll fill Orin in on what happened, but you've got to stay here tonight. Doctor's orders. Her tone lightened a bit as she spoke, the worry she'd felt when she'd first seen him like that slowly coming back into her voice.

She was angry about the fight and she'd chosen Taliesin over him... but at least she'd willingly admit to still loving the ex-alpha. The love wasn't as romantic as it had once been, but it was still there. She cared.

She just didn't show it very well anymore.

You did a good job, Shaw. There's no fire and nobody's dead so you've done your job well. She praised as she pulled out a rather contrasting series of needles and stitching thread from her bag, along with some bottles of liquid marked in bright warning colors and cloth.

As I'm sure you're aware by now, this will hurt. She paused a second to pull out a syringe before continuing. However, lucky for you, I've made up some pain killers for just such an occasion, so the pain won't be as bad. You'll feel a touch light headed and then probably fall asleep once it's set in. That's the only side effect, though. I've tested it and nothing bad has happened to anyone I've used it on.

Sky had looked up hundreds of different pain remedies in her books. Finally, she'd found one in an old herbology book that worked without side effects and she could make it out of local plants without much trouble. It was normally placed in an open wound before the wound would be sewn shut but that was barbaric in her opinion. Instead, she'd managed to find a safe way to inject a liquid version with a syringe.

She held out her hand once the clearish green liquid was in the needle and all the bubbles were gone. Let's see your arm. You'll feel a pinch and in about five minutes it should kick in. I'll give you some herbs to chew on before you fall alseep. That should keep your immune system up and help with the blood loss. Clearly, she'd been putting a lot more time into her medical studies. She was hurting, though; being the only real medic in the pack meant she'd have a lot to deal with if there were every an outbreak of sickness or a battle. She'd recently been considering taking on an apprentice of sorts... maybe that 'lucky nurse' would be the next person to fix up the accident prone man instead of Sky. Who knew.

OOC: Shaw's in shock :O stinky shaw

Shawchert was oblivious to Sky’s words. He was in shock now, and he was sure she could do or say anything to him and he would agree, but even her words sounded like an echo. He’d been walking through the forest, bleeding for many minutes. He wasn’t fighting her as she took out the syringe, and couldn’t tell what she said when she complimented him. He let her take his arm, and he watched the needle. It was obvious there was suppose to be pain but all he found was a rush of sound going to his ears rather than the pinch that she said he was going to feel. He didn’t faint though, he had a feeling he was suppose to still be awake. He felt something prodding at his mouth and opened it, chewing it slowly. She could be poisoning him and he wouldn’t know it. Knowing her it could have been a possibility. But in his state, he wasn’t about to care without her help he’d be dead anyway. He couldn’t tell where he was nor could he do much about how he fell asleep, that’s what the herbs she had in her mouth were for right? Or was it that syringe? He was discombobulated. He was ready to sleep. He wanted his own mind back.

WC:000+ - Too tired to argue.

Well he wasn't really responding much, but at least he was well enough to chew. She hummed in concern and put the needle away, brushing off her hands and getting down to business. It was time to start cleaning and stitching.

She eyed him a moment, then sighed softly. As she dabbed and gently cleaned his wounds, Sky let herself relax a bit, softly singing a song he'd played for her once, back when life was happy, when it was easier to relax and be at peace. She missed those days.

Cleaning finished, she took out her next supplies; the stitching thread and needle. She murmured a warning, then kept up with her song as she stitched his more serious wounds, occasional apologizing for the pain and discomfort if he felt any at all by that point. His injuries weren't as bad as they'd looked, thank Gaia, so she was finished in good time. As soon as the final stitch was in place, she shook his shoulder gently to try and wake him up.

It's time for bed, Shawchert. Let's get you upstairs, hm? Her voice was soft, sweet and caring now, calm from the sober task and the lack of energy to be angry at him anymore.

OOC: I am doing this all from memory of my eye surgery when I was 7 XD !

As he fell into a sleep he’d never experienced before he dreamt of better times. Times where his life had made sense, though instead of him playing for Sky, who had been his once love, he was next to Orin and his daughters, though he could see the two girls drifting away. Shawchert had mixed feelings over that and in his dream he did all he could to keep the girls with him, but eventually they were gone. What he made of the dream he would never no for when he woke up he forgot everything about it.

Shaw must have dreamed about playing his flute, because when he woke, Sky was shaking his shoulder a little, he could hear a tune in his head he hadn’t heard in a while. Sky spoke to him and he nodded, groggy, not sure what was going on, his state of shock left as he had slept, but he was still not sure why he was there, until he sat up and felt a pull at his side, though the effects of the medicine still worked, he couldn’t feel much pain still. Looking at Sky he thanked her with his eyes and slowly, carefully stood. He felt he would throw up all over her if he even made a move to open his mouth. He stood on wobbly legs, but only a short time. He turned to Sky to follow her, he didn’t know what room she would be sending him. He’d been all over her house, but he wasn’t in any state to go moving about it alone.

WC:000+ - Hope the PP's okay. See? She still cares.

She led him into the side room, the most furnished guest room in the house where Valinta had once slept in a coma. Now it was decorated much like a hospital room, with a single bed on the far wall and various pastel colored cloth used to cover the window and dress the bed. Sky hauled the poor guy over to the bed, and before he flopped down, she pulled the covers back. Another set of sheets ruined, but she didn't care this time.

Into bed with you. I'll leave a glass of water on the side table for you when you wake up. Get some sleep. She helped him into bed and once he was situated... it was by habit. She leaned down and kissed his forehead gently, humming her lullaby as she stood back up and went about the room, making sure everything was safe and in place. She stopped at the door as the lullaby ended and looked at him, watching for a few short minutes. ...rest easy, Shawchert. Gaia bless and good night. Then she slipped out, closing the door behind her and heading to bed herself.
