Oak was on careful guard as he crossed the western border of Crimson Dreams, where the forest became thicker and more difficult to navigate with its dense underbrush and uneven ground. Though it would have been easier to travel through the forest on four legs, as he was most comfortable, he instead headed north through Ethereal Eclipse as a werewolf, a quiver of arrows slung around his shoulder and a bow in hand. On his face was an expression that had become perpetual to him, his lips turned downward in a poisonous frown and his eyes blazing with suppressed anger.

As he picked his way through the forest, he practiced with the bow, aiming and shooting at anything that moved with little regard to the waste he was making of the forest creatures. It was not normal for him to behave so carelessly, but he could not seem to control his urges to kill. He was practicing for the moment he would fight the wretched bastards who had taken his mother from him. Since that night, he had searched for the perfect weapon, and found that he was clumsy with knives but a good shot with the bow. He could just as easily fight in his Secui form, but he enjoyed the idea of surprising the enemy with a sudden shot through the heart while he hid in the shadows.

Scattered around the path he took toward Cour des Miracles were the carcasses of rabbits, birds, and even a deer. They would have easily made a feast. Lately, though, he did not have much of an appetite, his stomach knotted with such anxiety that he often had to force himself to eat. So the dead animals were there to rot or perhaps be eaten by others before they reached the point of decay.

He arrived at a small brook that whispered softly as it trickled down a rocky, pebbled bed. For a moment his eyes glazed over as he stared into the dark, clear water, his thirst ignored. However, the rust-furred boy needed to rest and clear his head before he saw Alder, so he blinked his vision clear and tossed the bow and quiver into the vegetation beside him. He knelt slowly to the brook and cupped his hands in the icy water, drinking several handfuls before pulling back and sitting with his arms loosely draped over his knees.

omg... i'm so sorry, i totally forgot you made this thread! >< iluuu <333

The taste and smell of the ocean took over her body as Sage River Lykoi strode across the smooth sands of the beach on horseback. She was comforted with Lennon's strong weight beneath her small frame, and her calves squeezed his sides eagerly, goading him into a fast canter, his heavy hooves sending droplets of ocean water flying. She flew across the sands in fast time, and before she came too close to Cours des Miracles land, she turned north, the open plain calling her to gallop.

Lennon's hoof-beats were all she heard, all the wanted to hear. The sound was another comforting thing about traveling on horseback; her stallion's size made the echoes of his footsteps loud and frightening. She felt safe with her body parallel to his as he took her across the valley with full strength. The loud pounding filled up her smoke-clouded head and intense golden eyes stared straight ahead, waves of chocolate hair whipping behind her.

After several minutes of riding, Lennon's thunderous strides slowed; Sage was calming, and her horse could sense it. The intensity died down, and they eased into a steady trot. Her companion snorted, taking off in a direction of his choosing, his pointed ears alert and straight forward. The Optio sniffed at the air in turn, knowing instantly what he was after. Quickly her ears adjusted to the sounds of the valley and she could hear the sounds of moving water. Acquiescing, she allowed him to go.

When the brook finally came into view, Lennon slowed, unsure. The unclear silhouette and foreign scent did not scare Sage, though, and she urged him on. Quietly, she approached, staying far enough away to not be rude while her horse drank, his pale eyes wide and staring warily at the rust-colored stranger. Sun-colored eyes narrowed as she sniffed again; he smelled familiar, like Crimson Dreams. She thought of Barry instantly, and realized she had yet to fulfill her promise to visit him. Soon, she thought to herself. Clearing her dry throat, Sage stepped lightly down from her horse, glancing towards the boy with a friendly smile. He did not seem entirely happy, and so she decided she would keep mostly to herself."Hello," she said simply, reaching into the chilly water and bringing some to her own lips eagerly. The bag slung across her shoulder jingled softly as she moved. "Mmm, that tastes so good after a long ride, doesn't it, Lennon?" she murmured to her stallion as she continued to drink.
