OOC All welcome! Let's not kill it though. Smile 500+

The hunt was on.

The slender, petite femme dashed through the woods in her Lupus form, nothing but a white blur among the trees. She zig-zagged through the brush, her paws hardly whispering as she sped over dry leaves and broken foliage. When an obstacle stood in her way she took to the air, soaring over whatever lay in her path with one great, fluid leap. Those deep, liquid gold eyes focused on the landscape, watching for every bump on the trail. If anything would take her down it certainly wouldn’t be a misstep.

Her pink tongue lolled out of the side of her mouth and her breath came in and out in short, quick puffs, cooling her down and fueling her muscles as she raced along. There was a heavy scent in the air; that of fresh leather, hay, and dung that even Orin’s dulled nose could sense, and she didn’t want to miss this opportunity to provide for her pack. She followed the trail best she could, and judging by the strengthening odor, the thing didn’t know she was there yet, it wasn’t moving away from her.

She was almost astonished when she realized that the animal hadn’t detected her and tried to flee yet. Normally the deer in this forest were much more keen. But… it wasn’t in the forest… Orin was confused when she burst out of the brush into an open steppe. She stopped abruptly, four paws digging deep grooves in the ground.

“Unh?” she uttered wordlessly in confusion, staring at the sight before her. Off in the distance, totally unconcerned with her grandiose entrance, stood a single bovine, but this wasn’t any prey Orin was used to seeing around here. It loafed in the center of the prairie, loitering beneath a fat-leafed tree and constantly chewing… chewing… chewing…

She cocked her head and scrunched her muzzle. What the heck is it? Whatever it was, it was big, and there was no way she was taking this one down alone – not even with the element of surprise. Another glance proffered no one else in the area, so she pranced into the field. Orin dropped to the ground when the creature turned its massive head and looked at her with black-marble eyes, but her efforts were all in vain, for her white pelt stood out in stark contrast with the emerald prairie. They were frozen like that for a few moments until the animal’s jaw began grinding again, chewing on its invisible food.

“Psst,” she hissed at it, and it didn’t even have the decency to blink. Orin stood up and barked, “hey! Shoo!” The animal showed no fear. Frustrated, Orin harrumphed and trotted up to it. “Hey! It’s the big bad wolf! Oooh, scarrry… Don’t you know you’re supposed to run?”

As if to oblige, the animal sidestepped before lowering its head and devouring a daisy. “Hey!” Orin barked again, and the animal’s great head came back up and it let out an obnoxious noise. ‘Mooooo!!’

Orin started, her hackles and tail puffing out as she backpedaled. A forepaw caught a hind and she fell backwards, toppling end over end. The creature only regarded her with indifference, so she stuck out her tongue. “That wasn’t very nice.”

Who's that creepin Orin? SHILOH!!!

In Character

She had grown tired of her confinement and the hard work of re-teaching herself how to walk in optime form. She had decided to shift to her secui form and leave the house she was in despite her back legs protests. It was a slow walk but as Shiloh walked though the village with a slight hobble she noticed Orin running though a small forrest on the edge of the village. She pondered weather or not to follow the white wolf or stay and explore the village for a few moments before deciding to go after her. Her scent wasn't too hard to pick up and Shiloh trailed though the forrest slower then she would have liked. She missed running and as she walked though the forrest she wondered if Saxif would ever come see her again. She let her thoughts go and let out some of her pent up emotions as she walked after Orin. It seemed like forever to Shiloh but as she drew near to where she hoped Orin was her heard her barking at something.

She hid in the shade and watched with some humor as the alabaster wolf barked at what seemed to be a extremely big cow. She was telling it to run, that she was the big bad wolf. Shiloh stifled a laugh as she noticed just how small Orin was. She watched as she umped in frustration and trotted up to it only to have it stare at her like she was stupid or something. Its face said it all... "go on and let me eat in peace you midget wolf. you don't scare me," said Shiloh to herself as the cow ate a daisy and just stared at Orin. She barked again and the cow looked up and moooed at her. Then Shiloh busted out laughing as Orin puffed up and back-peddled too fast and tripped over herself. It was comical to see the woman roll head over paws down the slight incline that made up the meadow. Shiloh decided the woman had gone though enough humiliation for one day and came out slowly from her hiding spot to look at the cow, who just rolled its eyes as if to say, "Gee another small wolf. Just my day."
Shiloh hobbled over to Orin and nosed her muzzle softly before walking over to the cow and smiling. "Is she givin you a hard time? Poor cow..." she said softly before turning back to Orin and laughing

As preoccupied as she was with this new intruder, she didn't hear Shiloh when she came to the brush nearby, and between Orin and the cow there was far too much noise for her to even notice Shiloh snickering. It wasn't until she harrumphed from a heap on the ground that she noticed the AniWayan. Her ears perked and her head jerked in Shiloh's direction, startled for just a moment until she recognized who was coming. Then a broad smile spread across her face. “Hi, Shiloh,” she greeted as she climbed back to her paws. She was still quite shaggy from the scare, but then again, Orin was known for her longer furred coat.

“It's a cow?” she asked, screwing up her features as she looked at the animal. She knew what cows were, but had never seen one in person. She didn't expect it to be quite so big... or stubborn, or lazy, or hungry. She pranced back over to the cow, staring up at its ever working jaw for a moment, then she turned her gaze back to the grey one.

“Aren't they supposed to be useful? Cows were mentioned all the time in tons of books I read, but they were always more of an aside. Still, everyone had one, especially every farmer. I thought it'd be more... active. Maybe this one's broken.” She glanced at the thing out of the corner of her vision. It just stood there, chewing. Orin snorted, her expression going dark with frustration. “And what the hell is it eating! It doesn't take that long to chew a flower, stupid cow!” She hadn't seen the thing take a bite of anything in minutes, yet still it's jaw worked as though it was chewing the toughest, tastiest piece of meat it's ever known.

“It doesn't even know how to be scared, watch.” She said to Shiloh just before turning back to the livestock and barking a few times with nothing but a dull stare in response. “I'd ask if they're rideable like horses but I'm gonna bet that's a big fat no.”

Leigha was walking through the village, her new village, with great pleasure. All around there were wolves busy at work or practicing their art. This was definitely where she wanted to be.All around there were wolves busy at work or practicing their art. This was definitely where she wanted to be. As she trotted through the village in her optime form, glancing around at the different types of stores and houses. Hmm, houses. When would she get one? This thought was cleared from her mind as she smelled another wolf that had not yet been familiar to her. She turned her head towards the forest on the side of the village and saw a whitish-cream colored wolf dashing through the forest. Leigha cocked her head to the side. What was that wolf doing? Hunting perhaps? Leigha took off after her to make sure she wasn’t being chased or anything. She kept her distance, but not too much distance to where she would lose the wolf.

As she hid behind a tree, she tried hard not to laugh when the wolf did a horrible attempt at scaring a cow resting under a large tree. Soon she heard another wolf approach, and squatted down lower so that wolf wouldn’t see her. As the other wolf watched on along with Leigha, soon she busted out laughing and walked over to where the cow and the other wolf were. Leigha let out a small chuckle as well, but didn’t pay attention and lost her balance on her feet and fell over into the dirt below. Her cream colored fur was now brown in certain places, but she was used to being dirty. She decided to gather her courage and go out and talk to these two strangers.

As Leigha walked out to the two wolves, she put on a small smile, wanting to look as friendly as possible, but she was still quite curious.

“Looks like that cow is just a little bit tough to scare huh?” Leigha said playfully. “Hi I’m Leigha Willow and you two are?” she asked, a friendly tone in her voice.

Shiloh smiled at Orin before nuzzling the woman softly and licking her cheek before lying down in a bit of tall grass that tickled her bare skin. She started to laugh at Orin as she asked if the creature was in fact a cow. "Yes Orin its a cow and they are useful when you train them to do what you want. They aren't very active but they do eat a lot. Its chewing on cud, thrown up grass that it couldn't digest the first time," Shiloh stated as another wolf much like Orin came into the clearing. Shiloh almost was angered that another wolf interupt her and Orin but she had to play nice and hide how she felt.

" I am Shiloh Grant of AniWaya. Welcome to d'Arte," she said smiling at the girl. She couldn't really get up and give her a formal greeting like she used to at home but she was able to smile as Kavi threatened to take over due to Shiloh's anger. She wanted time with Orin alone again, finding the alabaster woman had been hard enough and now she had emotions she hadn't been able to express to Saxif that she knew Orin would understand. She needed to release more emotion before she got sicker.

OOC Sorry for slow reply. Hope you're both still in. Smile

“Kaauuughkk!” Orin cough-gagged, nearly throwing up her own lunch when Shiloh told her what the bovine was eating. It took her a moment to steel herself. “What in the world? Why the hell would it do that? That's disgusting. That's disgusting!” The second profession was directed straight to the cow that continued to grind its teeth, undaunted by Orin's stiff judgment.

An ear flicked and she glanced over to see another light colored wolf emerge from the brush. She bristled for a moment, not knowing who this other wolf was. She was a new recruit to the ranks of Cercatori, and Orin hadn't yet learned of her initiation. She didn't mean to be stand-offish, but since she was so horrible at hiding her emotions her skepticism was apparent. “Hi...” she said slowly, an eyebrow raising. But this other wolf didn't seem to want to take her potential prey from her, so she thought that might be the first hint that the wolfess was in fact friend, not foe.

Turning towards the woman some more, she put on a smile. “I'm Orin. Nice to meet you Leigha.” She cocked her head inquisitively. “What brings you to Cercatori? Does this-” she jerked her head towards the cow, putting two and two together, “-belong to you?”

Without her wolf cubs around it was much easier to be lax in the presence of a stranger. Shiloh's close proximity helped, too, even if she wasn't sure the woman could do much in a fight. Shiloh did, after all, also have Kavi on her side, who Orin was pretty sure could be lethal even when held to the limitations of Shiloh's crippled body.

Her eyes returned to the cow, and again her body twitched with a gag. This one was much more subdued this time. It was really eating its own throw up? Well, she had seen one of her own daughters do that once, before she taught her it was bad. There were some things Orin was so glad that their kind had adopted now that they lived a partially civilized lifestyle. Anyway, her eyes inspected the cow's thick hide and wiry fur. She was pretty sure that even with the three of them they couldn't kill the animal... at least, not with them all in their quadruped forms. Maybe it could be useful to the pack? Even if she was having a hard time imagining how so right now...

Shiloh laughed at Orin as she gagged. "They have issues eating. They are not like us but they are good for crops and things like that. Why don't you keep it Orin. It will be useful later," she said standing and nuzzling Orin softly. She enjoyed the woman's innocence and found herself wanting to be with Orin. There was such a pure feeling of happiness when Orin was around her and Shiloh clung to it. She was only happy around Orin. She nipped the woman play before looking at the cow then at Leigha.

Shiloh started towards the new comer before feeling the ground give way under her and she took a spill down a a small hill. "Orin!" she cried as she fell. She freaked and howled as she fell, rolling down the hill and landing in a crumpled heap at the bottom. She whimpered softly as she tried to stand. She had landed on her left side and rolled over, taking in damage. Bruises were going to show up but they were bad enough that she couldn't walk or anything. "I am ok!" she yelled up at the women.
