Unbuckling my belt

Ohoho, ignore topic title XD
Time of day: Late afternoon.
Location: Western Sunflower Sunsets, eastern side of river.

It was remarkably rare for the blonde to travel far from the Salsolan territory, but his hands weren’t empty anymore. The trip to and from Halifax was a lengthy one due to the Kingdom’s strategic location, but the Lykoi’s feet had become accustomed to extensive travel. And, this trip had been doomed quite necessary. Itachi’s hopes of success hadn’t been high, but newly acquired, shockingly blue backpack he had found in the heart of the library was currently weighted down by the total of three books that could teach him necessary secrets.

Perhaps he should have brought the mare, but Itachi would always prefer his own feet above a steed’s. The dark haired horse had indeed proved to be useful for a series of tasks and was well behaved, but in the end he had difficulties seeing it as anything else than what it was. An animal designed to be his prey. Instincts didn’t matter as much as they had in the past before the outbreak of the luperci virus, but fundamental thoughts remained, at least within this young optime.

The fat river was all that separated the Protégé from the Thistle Kingdom, but he was in no hurry. The deceased human child’s backpack was placed next to the blonde’s now seated form, and he let the dancing river lick the worn soles of his feet. Sunset eyes hid away behind pale lids and the exiled prince gave a soundless exhale interweaved with contentment from the simple sensation. Dedication and long hours awaited him once he crossed the river and there was no reason to jump right into it without allowing himself a moment to breathe.

The castle had been left behind for what had initially been planned as a short jaunt. They were gods and so why should they not live as such? The home that they had claimed for themselves was quite a large one indeed. His twin even seemed to suffer less while contained within its walls. It really was a fortress of the body as well as the mind. Though in its current condition it wasn't exactly the most comfortable and welcoming of places. If nothing else then Raiden at least wished for some soft bedding to lay upon. He had convinced his brother to head with him into the city that they found out about from a rather unfortunate traveler. The boys had needed to eat and that prey had stumbled upon them at the most inopportune time. Since having forced The Bat to meet his demise Raiden's objections to murder had seemed to have take a sharp decrease. But both events were justified within his mind. He refused to let anyone tear Diedrich away from him and he felt that such is what both of the kills had wanted to do. Even if Raiden seemed to be the one that would fair better should something to separate the boys it was actually quite the opposite. He depended upon his brother for he was the only one that could keep Raiden's mind off of the dark paths that they wandered down. Believe it or not Diedrich was actually Raiden's sanity.

"Wenn du suchst. Und dich selbst dabei verlierst. Dann find ich dich. Und hol dich zu mir." The words started out softly before becoming stronger as the song continued. It was only while he was alone or when he was with his brother could he ever be caught singing. He refused to grace anyone else with his melodious voice. What was the point of that? A boy had to have his secrets after all. And that he was actually able to carry a tune was one of those secrets. But he kept nothing at all from his twin. There were no secrets at all between them. How could there be when they could easily see through each other and know when one was hiding something?

The trip that had been meant to be short had grown remarkably longer when they had stumbled across some pale male rooting through the city. As soon as Raiden had spotted the unknown figure he had grown silent. A look was given to his brother and a smirk crossed his lips. It wasn't hard to decipher just what it was that he had in mind. How long had it been since they had a bit of fun? When was the last time that they had put their skills to the test. Both of the dual colored males followed after the single blonde in utter silence, making certain to remain downwind of the male that they were tracking as well as clinging to the shadows to keep themselves hidden from view. With this game of hide and seek, that was kept unknown about to the pack male, the twins original task had been entirely forgotten about.

It was only within the last league of the blonde's trip did Raiden finally decide to announce his presence. He had no idea where Itachi was headed exactly but Rai could only guess that it was close since the other had stopped during the day rather than at night as had happened in order to rest for another day of travel. Rai waited for his brother to get himself settled into the branches of a tree before he finally approached the male that was in repose. "Hallo. Wer sind dich?" The words of German origin were called out in a thickly accented voice. "Darf ich mit euch erquicken?" Even though he had questioned he didn't bother to wait for a response but went ahead and sat down next to the other. He mimicked the other with the way in which he dipped his feet into the water but then took it a step further to rest his palms flat on the ground behind himself and rested his weight back upon them. The boy had his head tilted back as if he was trying to catch the light of the late afternoon sun with which to warm himself but he was actually looking to keep an eye on his brother's position instead. "Was bringt dich hier draußen?" The male easily showed that he was the more talkative of the duo even if he refused to speak in the language that was used in this country. Oh he certainly knew English and could speak it fluently. Actually German was his second language, and one that he had only recently started to speak fully in, but it was hard to tell such. The Bat had used German frequently so of course the twins had picked up on it and then the trip to Germany served to instill it further. Now, with The Bat gone, Raiden had adopted the language as his own.

They were mischievous the two. They had traveled up from the place that they called 'home' for now to the fallen city of Halifax. They were originally looking for things that would make the castle a little bit more homely, maybe some German flags, and some beds, and some candles. Perhaps they could get something to eat while they were out, for the male seemed to have an insatiable hunger in the pit of his stomach. He always seemed to have this hunger lately, and he didn't know why. It had been shortly after he had murdered his father in cold blood that this hunger had started. He wondered briefly if it was a hunger to kill. He figured that it probably was something of that nature. Diedrich had been slightly disappointed when Raiden's beautiful singing had ceased because it was one of the only things that made Diedrich smile and be happy about life. He knew that the singing stopped because of something else though. Diedrich had to open his eyes to see a golden male crossing the path of the two, though they were hidden in the shadows so it had been doubtful that the golden beast had recognized their presence. When the two had seen the golden beast and his blue backpack, his brother got this look on his face that reflected onto Diedrich's own maw. He knew what his brother was thinking, because that look meant that they were in for a hunt, a chase of sorts, a game. Diedrich loved games.

His bangs were getting in his eyes, and it was quite annoying to him. Why he'd pick this hairstyle had been beyond him, but he had needed some sort of change when coming to his new life here, in Canada. He still had his dreadlocks, which were now shortened from their long, once shoulder length self. He huffed lightly, which made his ivory bangs blow out of his face, and to one side. He was glad that they at least would stick on one side so he wasn't completely blind. Acidic eyes analyzed his surroundings. They had no clue where they were, but it had been suitable for him to take to the trees. He looked back at his brother and looked at the treetops after that, silently signaling to his brother that he was going to be taking to the trees. He did not wait for the approval before he had dug his claws into the bark of a tree that was thick enough for him to perch in. The man seemed to slither up the tree, using those worked muscles for what he was trained for. It only would take him a few seconds until he would disappear up in the shadows of the treetops, and he made sure to be careful about where he would sit, so that he would make little to no sound if he needed to move, yet he was under enough cover to where it was not particularly easy to spot him. He then sat there and watched.

His attention was taken by the presence of a golden male. Acidic orbs watched the male, and his pupils dilated to look at the male and to adjust to the sunlight. His head cocked when the male sat there at the bank of the river. It didn't seem that Diedrich's cover was blown, so he remained where he was. His eyes then would touch his own mimicked pelt on the twin, minus the roach back that Ryuzaki had gratefully given the De Gama male, the heir to the De Gama name and throne, whatever that meant. His ears listened to the other male, him taking that thickly German voice that he had, that they both had. He chuckled in his mind rather than out loud because the child (he considered his brother a child in the mind rather than the body) had spoken in German all the way through to the golden male, even though as far as they had seen, not very many others seemed to have spoken the language in this place. Diedrich watched, amused by his brother and his games that he was starting.

Perhaps, if the golden male had poured all his focus into it, he may have caught the sound of cat-like claws digging into rough, hardened bark. Unfortunately, his focus was not drawn to the enclosing presence of what he thought was merely one other individual. Eyes of swirling lilac and scarlet rose from the riverbanks to follow as his face and ears turned to pay attention to what could easily be an enemy in the making.

White collided harshly with black, and the acidic gaze that accompanied such foreign hues was a green far more vibrant than the Lykoi’s dark pelted Alpha. Audits a touch too large to belong to a pure wolf turned and twisted at the alien words that were merrily poured into the hybrid scene of summer and autumn. Itachi managed to recognize the language as German, though only because he had known a male originating from a distant country on the other side of the vast sea in Inferni. He didn’t understand it though, and found it strange that it seemed to be expected that he did.

Itachi didn’t frown at the other, though he didn’t like it as the male took a seat next to him. He hadn’t earned the right to make such a bold move. Face and eyes didn’t stray from the immovable stone expression he always seemed to wear as he graciously rose to his feet and took a lengthy step away to ensure that his private zone remained intact. ”I do not speak your language, stranger.” he said, holding the full backpack’s reins in one hand and allowing the other one to curl into a loose fist.

Raiden didn't expect to be understood. In fact he was hoping that he wasn't. Where would be the fun in that? He enjoyed having a language that no other would be able to speak. It was something for just him and his brother. Such a thing made him extremely happy. He could say whatever it was that he wanted and it wouldn't matter. That was the fun part of it all. He could get away with saying absolutely anything since it couldn't be proven that any translation was a lie. So yes, he spoke the language in hopes of not being understood.

A light frown formed upon his face as the other moved away from him. He didn't let it slow him down for long before he reached up a hand to try and grasp that of the blonde male's. He knew that this being didn't have a womb and so there was no reason to even try but there was nothing that it was going to hurt either. It was all just a spot of fun. If he was going to stalk someone for so long then he would make certain to get all of the fun that he could get out of it.

"Schade, dass du so hübsch sind, aber wenn Sie nichts dagegen unternehmen, dass der Faust dann habe ich es erzwingen. Es ist so leicht zu töten, wenn man weiß wie. Werden Sie schmecken so hübsch wie du aussiehst?" Despite the grim nature of the words he spoke them in a tone that insisted there was a bit of infatuation and flattery there. The other male couldn't understand them so how would he say that there was hardly a compliment there? And to seal the deal Raiden even made to try and lick at the back of the male's hand.

He could have left it there but he decided to take it a step further. Rather than forcing his twin to come out of hiding and having him be a false translator for him he decided to make an attempt at the English language. Actually he could speak English fluently, it being the language that he was brought up with, though he chose to struggle with it in the face of others. "Pur-Ree-Tee." He completely minced the word word and pointed up at Itachi in order to convey the message. "Loh-Oss-Tuh." He tossed out another chopped up word and pointed towards himself. "Wuh-Eh-Rr?" Hands were spread out to encompass the entire area around them before he looked up at the golden male once more. "Huh-Oh-Mm?" Once more he was pointing at the unknown to indicate that the question was being posed of him, that it was wished to be known where the other's home was to be found. "Guh-Oh?" With this question he pointed back at himself once more, wondering if he could follow the other home or not.
