Personality:

Aggressive. Feisty. Easily aggravated. These words perfectly describe Raha, the short-tempered canine with an attitude as hot as fire. Raha is what you would call an agitated canine, her rage often being released in sudden short yet powerful outbursts. She is quite territorial, being half Common Gray Wolf and half Northeastern Coyote. This mix of species may seem strange, but you can be sure that Raha is actually quite proud of her heritage. She is possibly more wolf than coyote; indeed she is mistaken many times for being a purebred wolf, but the attributes of a coyote shine through her eyes at times too. She is challenging; when a decision is made against her will than prepare to be 'singed' by the fires of hell. Raha will not be silenced until her opinion is made, even if it takes a few nips and bites in the process. She hates submitting, even to those higher in the hierarchy, making her quite a stubborn mix-breed. Sometimes it seems impossible to get through to her, so self-absorbed and obnoxious she is, but you'll be surprised to learn Raha is a dedicated, allegiant, strong-hearted and determined female. She is relentlessly persistence, often stopping at nothing to get what she wants, or what another might want. This mix-bred Coyote may seem wrapped in her selfishness, worrying about what she wants or what she needs. Many mistake her as 'unapproachable' or 'as vicious as a piranha.' They don't see the loyalty inside her heart, the ferocious need to protect her pack. Instead, this ferocity comes off as aggressiveness, which isn't surprising as that is her main attribute in the pack. Raha is naturally angry and violent, impatient and rude, feisty and short-tempered. But don't be fooled - remember, never judge a book by its cover.

Appearance:

Russet fur, tinged with a sandy gold, is the first thing you will notice about stunning, beautiful Raha. Her pelt is often stained a light gray at points. Despite her explosive personality and her rage, Raha really is the definition of elegant and statuesque. Her fur is sleek and in the morning, sparkles like diamonds, covered in a thin layer of frost. Her eyes, small and as black as ink, glow eerily with a certain strange and mysterious knowledge. Raha has a thick, bushy tail and large, comical ears. Her muzzle is streaked with a dark, almost blood-colored red. The streak runs from her seemingly polished black nose up to her gray splashed head. Her belly is a seemingly faded gold mingled with russet color; indeed, she is the picture of bright and beautiful, so unlike her personality. Appearance attributes? First off, you must know Raha is not a strong jumper, nor a swift runner. Her legs aren't long and flexible. Instead they are short and stubby, the paws being reasonably small and smudged black. She is, however, an astoundingly amazing fighter. Raha is bulky and muscular and although she is smaller than most of her half-species, she sure knows how to protect herself. That's why her explosive outbursts have made her feared and 'mistaken' for a cruel beast. Still, her captivating and alluring beauty must be her most outstanding attribute.

Role-play Example:

Mist settled over the plains like a thick blanket of secrets. Fog shrouded the mountains in the distance, wrapped itself around the eyes of one particular female wolf like a blind fold as she loped through the territory. When she looked ahead, all she was an endless white. When she glanced back, the same 'endless white' stretched on forever. An eternity of wandering through mist...the thought made the often aggressive female shudder. In truth, Raha hated fog. The bitter cold punched her in the chest and sucked the air out of her lungs. The mist felt heavy, as though she was carrying its weight, which in truth was weightless for the fog was only air. Raha hated it, however. She felt as though she was held captive in her own territory. When the female inhaled a deep breath and sniffed, the fog overlapped any smell that existed within its freezing walls. She might as well be blind, padding through Inferni territory. With a heavy sigh, her breath forming vapor right in front of her nose, she finally gave up and sat down stubbornly. She would just have to wait for the mist to clear.
The white cold hung in the air for a few more minutes. The grass was coated in a thin, sparkling layer of dew. The sky was blotted out by the mist. Raha heard a few noises, and at times caught a whiff of prey, yet the fog overlapped the smell before she could be sure she had even scented it. The mist was taunting her. Growling, Raha wondered how long her temper would stay tranquil before she would snap. Not long, the female guessed as for a split second she caught sight of a dim figure in the fog, before it disappeared again. Prey! Raha snarled in rage and tried to bite the mist, as though hoping she could tear it to pieces. Of course, her jaws jammed shut on nothing. Feeling fooled, Raha slunk away and once more waited for the fog to clear. She was just so glad no other wolf or coyote had seen that.
After a while, the mist began to clear. Patches of sky revealed itself, the sun peeping out from behind a stormy gray cloud as though wondering whether it was safe to shed its luminous light onto the world once more. The mist melted away like new snow in spring, along with the bitter cold. It was as though the world had sprung to life once more. Raha smiled and howled triumphantly, thinking it was she who had won this battle with nature. "Take that, mist," the female barked, tail wagging joyfully. Ah, time to hunt. With a coy smile, Raha bounded off.

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
