How troublesome... the thought occurred to him again and again as he and the female had made their way across the mountain range. For the most part, the territory had be easy enough to navigate through, the footing upon the ...edger parts of the rocky terrain was okay; not the best to walk on, but if one was careful then there were no issues. Progress would have been much faster if he hadn't had to make the odd 'pit stop' for his distressed and often gawking companion. Looking upon her, the memory of when he first encountered the young one fluttered through his mind and he had to suppress the urge to laugh, but he couldn't quite stop the amused smirk and a slight shake of his head, still unable to believe she had truly asked such a question. Despite how he often considered his new-found tag-along a pain in the backside, he couldn't deny the fact she was both interesting and amusing company, if a little too-dependent upon him. Everything about her was different, naive and innocent; something he had never truly seen in a female before. Sure, he'd seen females attempt to appear all sweet and kind, to hide their nastier interiors, but he was sure that every reactions, every word from the young jackal was genuine and truthful. Such a sheltered child... and once more he found himself shaking his head in utter disbelief.

“If ya don't 'urry up, i'll leave ya behind. Maybe a group o' big, scary, jackal-eating teddy bears will find ya and 'ave ya for dinner” he shouted to her over his shoulder, not stopping to look back and view her reaction, determined to reach the nearest pack borders as soon as possible. For awhile now, he had scented a pack, one that, if rumours were true and accurate, was the home of one of his nephews. Not that he held much hope for the tales to be true, but with his added baggage, it seemed logical to approach the nearest pack and as to join their ranks; whether the lost child was there or not.

Thankfully, it wasn't long before the pair reached the borders; the scent of canines filled his nose and he cast his red eye to the lands before him, which seemed unusually empty for a pack fabled to be large within these lands. Throwing his head back, he called for someone's assistance.

WC:000+ - OOC: hey here i am!!!

Sira was absolutely Amazed by everything she saw around her, she couldn't imagine how many new things she saw, nor could she anticipated everything. Her eyes were everywhere at once, and yet she was still able to be as surefooted as ever, that was after her first slip and near deadly fall, though she caught herself in time. Turning to Cain her eyes widened.

“There are bears that eat Jackals?”

She knew about bears and she knew they could possibly eat her but she had always stayed away from any possible signs of a bear. She hurried up next to him, still keeping her eyes everywhere at once, but continuing faster until the man stopped. She looked at him and wondered what he was doing until the scent caught her nose... more wolves, like him were around here, and the smell was so thick that it told her to stay away. She'd experienced that just after leaving her mother running towards these mountains, though she had no idea what it meant nor why it seemed as though it was warding her away. Then he howled, and she jumped back, all four paws sprayed out, in surprise. Looking around she wasn't sure exactly what he was doing.

“Please wait, I won't go slow again don't call those teddy bears please!”

Naniko is in her optime form :]

They were a hidden bunch of canines, most of the pack keeping to the cave system rather than braving the harshness of the outside world. In the winter the caves would be a blessing, providing them a heated area to hide away from the snow and ice that would cover the majority of the mountainside early in the season. At their elevated status, the canines of Anathema were sure to get a nice bout of snow a few weeks earlier than the rest of the packs that lived on their peninsula. Naniko did not mind the cold and the ice, and welcomed the change in temperature. Even now she could feel a slight edge to the wind, a bitterness that made her shiver in anticipation for the cooler winds that would come as the month progressed.

A call for assistance caught her attention as she padded along the border, and her head turned immediately in the direction of the howl. Someone wanted her nearby. The female turned and began to jog toward the area from which it had originated, two legs pumping evenly as she kept to the beaten path that wound through the forest in the direction of the border. She was interested to see who had called for her and what they wanted. She couldn't be in all places at once, and it took her around fifteen minutes to get from where she had previously been standing to the area that the two stood in at the border.

"Hello" She said, approaching with caution. The Angela was armed with an axe, a few daggers, and her ceremonial dagger...but there were two of them. The fact that the male had howled made her wonder if their intentions weren't as sinister as she suspected; someone seeking to spy or harm the pack would have just come in rather than stopping and howling for the attention of a pack member. She stood a few yards away, crossing her arms. "I am Naniko D'Angelo, the leader here. What business do the two of you have at the borders of Anathema?" She asked the male.

Eeer, this sucks terribly. My bad >.< +451!

A teasing smile touched his lips as he looked down upon the young girl; so naive and trusting, teasing her was simply irresistible. The worlds rolled across his tongue, begging to be spoken, evil, potentially hurtful and yet kind words lingered within him and whilst his mind raced ahead, he found himself already laughing at the reactions he predicted he would get from her; if he continued to tease her, that is. Moments passed as he contemplated how far he should push the whole 'teddy bear' thing and then he reached a decision; his mind mind up, he flashed the other an evil grin, barley holding back his brewing laugher, “Oooh, but it's too late, the teddy bears are coming and they are going to gobble you up!!” he said jokingly to her, knowing full well that there was a high chance that she may actually take him seriously. Allowing for his words to sink in to his other, he allowed himself to quickly scan the territory before him to see if anyone had come to respond to his call yet, but with no obvious sign of another approaching he cast his attention back to his companion, his sole eye full of humour and mirth at the other's expense. A hand reached down and ruffled the others hair, his expression calming in an attempt to reassure the other; there was no way he'd tell her that he was joking, but he'd let her know she was safe, in his own weird way.

Before he had a chance to continue winding his tag-along up, someone finally approached them from within the pack borders. Silently and very much unconsciously he moved in front of the younger jackal, encase whomever approached proved a threat to either of them. Red eye narrowed, he noted the other was armed whilst he was not, the fact dug at him until he shrugged it of; such trivial details weren't important unless the other proved aggressive, so far that wasn't the case. Even if she did prove a threat, he wasn't entirely sure if he could be bothered to put up much of a fight anyway. Cautiously, he dipped his head slightly in welcome, then picked his words carefully. “Thanks for coming” he responded, then looked down upon the child jackal to see how she was faring, before turning back to the self pro-claimed leader. “I was hoping for you to allow us to join your ranks?” he asked, indicating to himself and his companion. A small part of his mind reminded him that he hadn't actually explained what he was planning to do with Sira; he wondered if the naive girl even knew what joining a pack was?

OOC: Sorry this took longer than i hoped. WC: 304

As he spoke her heart beat against her chest and she looked around moving even closer to the man. She looked around to see if anything was coming, but it seemed the teddy bears were not coming yet, she looked at him with pleading eyes, but for some reason as he ruffled her furred head, she felt a bit safer, though that was to be challanged as she saw someone coming. She could tell it was a female, but not one she'd ever seen before, her first thought was 'teddy bear' he moved in front of her, and she shrank closer to the ground, he spoke and she heard some things she understood, join was one of them, and she wasn't sure what he meant but he must have wanted to join her inside the thick smelling invisible walls.

I don't want to join in with the teddy bear, please she will eat me, you said so. I- I don't want to be teddy bear food.

She whispered low enough for the man to hear, though she didn't know how good the white teddy bear could hear, today was the first she'd ever heard of one. She hoped she couldn't probably for her sake, maybe it was Cain who was keeping her from being eaten, whatever the case, she would stay at his heels till things got sorted. Why did he have to howl for them anyway? She thought as she peered over his legs. The woman was taller than she was, even if she were in her optime form. What made Sira most interested was the beautiful white colored coat that the female presented herself in. It must have taken lots of delicate cleanings to keep it like that. Though she was more concerned about herself being eaten at the moment.
