Ves is gonna hate horses now probably, lolVesper yelped in surprise as the horse skidded to what seemed like a painful stop, and she stood splay-legged and bristling as the white-furred girl turned furiously toward her. The silly child she’d been moments before had been replaced by—well, a silly angry child, but one who was currently mounted on a large and dangerous herbivore.
“You can’t take a goddamn joke?” the hybrid snapped, hackles rising defensively after the girl had berated her for threatening her precious grass-eater. Oh, hell, Leigha would have known if she were threatening the horse. She was a lot more creative with her threats than some underhanded grumbling about nipping something. She snorted then realized she was arguing with someone mentally below her, and her posture immediately relaxed.
At least until the horse neighed at her threateningly. She let out a cruel snarl back, letting the stupid beast know what she’d do to it if it came near her, and she went ahead with Leigha’s suggestion. Quickly, cursing the young woman for ever interrupting her sleep, she slipped off into the tall grass among the tombstones to find someplace more restful.
Someplace without the stench of horse.
